OOC: I'm using this opportunity to give people a glimps of Atlantian cuture.

IC: Orion’s private quarters, Posidopolis, Planet Cirrus

Orion looked out over his balcony in the Atlantian Senate’s main building at the sunset. His room was here, and it is where he had spent most of his free time for the past 70 years.

The leader of the Atlantian people was finally starting to show his age. His silver hair was losing its shine, and wrinkles where beginning to form on his body. But Orion did not feel old. He moved just as quickly as ever, and could still defend himself if needed. He could pilot a fighter craft; he could even fight in the army if he wanted to. He was well experienced in fighting with guns, swords, and Tridents. Metals of honor from different countries littered his walls, ones he had gotten from his early days, before he had re-founded the Atlantian nation.

He was 143 by Terran standards. But he had a good deal of life ahead of him. Most Atlantians lived to see 200, and it was not uncommon to live to 250. The record was 300. The only thing Orion had regretted during his life was that he had never married, or gotten many close friends. Sure, Atlantis had alliances, and he enjoyed his company with the other Senate members, but he didn’t have anyone who was close.

But now was not the time for thinking about his regrets in life. He walked back inside his room and finished getting ready. He pinned several metals onto his robe, and unhooked a Trident from the wall. A knock came to his door.

“Yes?” he asked.

Andromada walked into the room. “Are you ready?” she asked. She was also beginning to show her age, at 125.

“Ya, just a second” Orion replied. He took a rag and polished the tips of his trident. Then the put the rag down, and followed Andromada out of the room.

“Amazing, isn’t it? I mean, it seems like just yesterday we where celebrating 500 million” said Andromada, walking down the stairs.

“Oh by the gods, how time flies” Orion followed her until they reached a pair of large doors. The two walked out onto a rather large balcony, about 10 times larger then Orion’s personal one. Below them where hundreds upon thousands of people, all gathered in one location.

“Greetings, my fellow Atlantians” said Orion. His long hair blew in the cool breeze. “It is my pleasure to announce that Atlantis is now 3 billion people strong” Intar and Atlanta, also dressed in ceremonial robes, brought over a newborn baby to Orion. The parents of the child followed behind them. Orion raised his Trident and pointed hit at the baby.

“Do you swear to take care of this baby, and to raise him to worship the glory that is Poseidon?” asked Orion.

“We do” said the parents, smiling and looking at each other.

“Do you swear to teach him to uphold the laws passed down to us by our ancestors?”

“We do”

“Do you swear to teach him to never give up?”

“We do”

“Then by the power of the gods, I give this child his right to live under the house of Posiedon. May the gods bless you with many gifts” said Orion. He lightly tapped the baby on the forehead with the Trident.

“Take this Trident, in memory of this event” said Orion. The parents took the Trident, and their baby, nodded to Orion, and walked off.

“Welcome this baby into your family, people of Atlantis!” shouted Orion. The people cheered.

Atlanta, Intar, Andromada, and Orion walked back inside.

“Cold out there” said Atlanta. Intar nodded silently.

“You ever think about what it would be like to have a child?” asked Andromada.

“No, I would need a wife to be able to do that” said Orion. He passed Andromada and walked off.

“Oh ok...touchy....” Andromada walked off, just as the sun finished setting.
