The Lands of Alex quitely closed her borders a few years ago and sliped into civil war. An emperial monarchy formed and cut down political and civil rights and managed to wreck the economy by over taxation. As you can imagine the people formed opposiotn groups hoping to gain control of "Parliament" which was effectivaly powerless. Eventualy relgious groups (Baha'i, Muslim, and Buddhist for the most part) and politcal oppositon groups banded together to call for Democracy. The call turned into war and the formation of the People's Assembly whom elected a sucession of prime ministers and started a civil war. After years of fighting the People's Assembly defeated the monarchists and exiled the Emperor whom now resides on a island off the nations coast and controls limited strongholds in the nation. The several provinces are curently members of the People's Assembly the recognized govenrment, but a new group known as the National Seante has formed calling for reforms, and the provinces have approved the reforms which calls for an elected President to share in power with the Prime Minister. Curently the nation is being rueld by Interim President Jordi Alastar, Interim Vice President Iskander Hmarzae, and Prime Minister Kiara Gboula. All are calling for free open elections and are searchign for alliances.

Good afternoon,

On behalf of the elected government and our supreme soveriegn, Lord Lightfoot I, I hereby extend the hand of friendship towards President Jordi Alastar, his cabinet and the peoples of the Land of Alex.

Lord Lightfoot, our esteemed ruling monarch, was sickened by the self-righteous actions of your monarchy and is warmly pleased by the installment of a seemingly sound system of government. We wish you and your peoples the very best and will be pleased to offer guidance or whatever else your country may require until full stability returns.

We glady accept your hand and hope for a long friendship.
