Muktar is going to take formal actions to annex the two warring nations to prevent any further deaths* and to expand the New Commonwealth of Muktar. Hopefully such advances will improve our proud nation's diversity of culture.

Turat chuckled as he passed the flexi over to Sendi, and ignored the raised eyebrow, instead moving to take a gentle sip of his steaming hot kur. Kur was just like coffee, but genengineered to remove the caffeine and grown hydroponically, in an enhanced environment, to sharpen the taste - he didn't have a clue how the latter was done, although it sounded complicated. It was a new, hot commodity in the armed forces and the intelligence services; thusly, relatively speaking, it was very expensive here in the Citadel. Of course, most things here were very cheap, as everything was subsidized by the government, but expensive was expensive.

It tasted like perfection in a cup.

He peered over his cup at his work partner, affectionately known to him as Sendi, although her name was Dur-sen. Both of them were Nenyan, although Sendi apparently had Dth'gari heritage several generations back. Never tell she wasn't pureblood to look at her, he mused.

She had fiery amber eyes, bright, and very handsomely set in a gorgeously symmetrical face. It was the eyelashes that were the killer, however; he knew that Sendi did not use extensions or wear makeup - that was a given, as Nenyans never did. They did not suffer with skin blemishes until senescence began to kick in, during their most advanced years; makeup was thus not needed, although the thought of applying animal fat to ones face would surely be considered abhorrent regardless. Even the Human population very rarely used makeup - it was mostly used for entertainment purposes, although some of Great House Menjda seemed to like wearing makeup these days, but they were prone to fads and fancies anyway.

Sendi giggled, her shoulders shaking in the most delightful manner. Turat smiled lazily as her eyes lifted from the flexi to meet his. Amusment sparkling in his expressive Nenyan eyes, he remarked, "Aren't the barbarians just delightfully amusing with sometimes?"

She laughed fully, the sound soft and melodious, reminiscent to his ear of the gentle rushing sound of the journey of the River Rapid down unto the Calmnór Valley.

"Oh, really, it's just symbols and nonsense... they barely seem able to even construct sentences properly, and look at those primitive face-symbols... surely these must be messages from children?"

Turat tilted his head to one side. "I wonder if it was two curious children playing with something they oughtn't have been?"
