Kovel Times Press, April 30, 2021 -

After a referendium on the new constitution, President Corey Haim signed into law a bill containing major reforms for all levels of government. The laws redefine the job of both the federal government and the seperate Republics that make up Haaregradia. These laws standardize taxation rules, redistribute the power of the republics over the armed forces and many others. These laws will also see a new constitution pass into effect.

Due to wrangling by the Communist and Socialist Parties the bill was forced to contain reference to our socialist past. After May 1st 2021 the republics of Soviet Haaregrad, West Haaregradia, Dill Row and Metropolis Industries will be joined in the Confederacy of Independant Socialist Republics, the CISR.

At the time of our joining our population will be nearly 3 billion, with 48% living in Soviet Haaregrad, 24% in Metropolis Industries, 10% in West Haaregradia and 18% in Dill Row.

The constitution includes articles strengthening the rights of squatters, including clauses making it easier for abandoned buildings to claimed as squats.

Also passed, although not as part of the constitution were bills dedicated to restructuring the armed forces and finally begining a universal public healthcare system.

It is believed the Liberal government started the legislation to quell rumours they would threaten Haaregradia's dedication to preserving their socialist traditions after the Democratic-Capitalist councillors that had formed a coalition with the Liberal party. The Liberal Party won the most votes in the April 2020 elections, however the Socialists and Communists have been working closer then ever recently in an attempt to force the Liberals to maintain a socialist slant to all bills passed. While it will cost President Haim the support of many DC members Haim hopes to draw the Socialist Part into a much stronger coalition.
