Nomadic League
26-09-2004, 11:25
I Piotr Sawa an the democratically elected leader of the group of Nomadic Tribes known as the "Nomadic League". I come before you to beg for assistance in our time of dire need.

For the past decade the lands we once called our homes has experienced a terrible drought, much of the land has turned to desert. We have no food, our children go hungry while their mothers don't have the strength to produce breast milk for the newly born. I fear that if this situation continues we will cease to exist as a people.

We hope that can someone can assist us in finding new land(region) for us to settle. While we can't offer anything of great value we promise to repay the debt in anyway we can.

Dear Mr Sawa,

Having investigated the plight of your tribes might I recommend that you consider discussing the possibility of relocating to the continent of Aperin.

Aperin is the heartland of the Coalition of Anticapitalist Economies (CACE) and I am confident that land could be found for your people the build a brighter future for themselves.

If your nation elects to join the United Nations you are, according to your current national description, eligble for CACE membership. The CACE is an extended trade autarchy and operates a policy of supply based on need rather than the capitalist policy of supply based on the ability to pay.

I hope we shall here from you.

OOC: Aperin is also a region but most of the residents actually come from the Anticapitalist Alliance (ACA) and the ACA being my region I'd welcome you to relocate there.

If you're interested you might want to visit the CACE forums at http://invisionfree.com/forums/CACE/index.php?act=idx

Of course, there's always the possibility that you're nation is only socialist because of the way you answered the startup questions and you're going to change it to a nation of psycho fascists. If the latter, you probably won;t won't to relocate to Aperin :p

Celdonia, the people of the Nomadic League thank you for your generous offer.

Before a decision is made I would like to ask some questions about the region. Firstly, is joining the United Nations required to join your region? While we admire the work of the United Nations it is the governments view that joining the United Nations is not in the best interest of the Nomadic League.

The Nomadic League runs on a system of almost total self dependence, we try to grow everything we need, using the barter system tribes trade with each other allowing everyone to live off a very balanced diet.

Are we eligible for entry into Aperin?

The Central Council of Cytheromania, founder nation of the region of Doubt extends an unconditional offer to the nomadic league should Aperin not turn out to be to your tastes. We are a small region but fiercely independent, mostly made up of socialist nations but with some oddballs. "Live and Let Live" is our regional ethos and you would be most welcome. You might however feel happier in a bigger, more mainstream region, which we would of course understand. In any event we would not see you go hungry and will offer what financial assistance we are able and will urge other members of our region to do likewise.

"I wholeheartly endorse Rotovia's own region, Reformed Oceania. We pride outrselves on being a safe haven for smaller nations and even have a formal system whereby older nations care for our newest members.
We actively encourage UN Membership, but donot set it as a requirement and currently hold many of the positions on our Regional Council open for new members.
Rotovia itself has contributed over $1 Trillion USD to fellow region members in the intrests of allowing them to remain self sufficant.
It is the goal of Reformed Oceania to create nations that are self sufficant and protected, we believe strongly in the teach a man to fish principal and donot believe in unessacary hinderence to national soveriegnty.
All of our member nations enjoy the protection afforded to them as well as the economic benifit, without the concern of being subject to interfering guidelines or restrictions.
If this intrests you check out Reformed Oceania (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/region/region=ReformedOceania)"

Mr Sawa,

UN membership is only a requirement of CACE membership and is not required to join the Anticapitalist Alliance.

You may also be interested in the International Fair trade Association (IFTA) which is a trade organisation open only to those nations who guarantee to protect workers rights. All members of CACE are also members of IFTA but thy are in a minority (roughly half) as membership is even open to capitalist nations who agree to the terms. IFTA is also hosted in the Celdonian Diplomatic Quarter (http://invisionfree.com/forums/CACE/index.php?act=idx) as is CACE and the regional forum of the Anticapitalist Alliance.

The Anticapitalist Alliance is one of the oldest and largest of such regions in the NS world and has a current membership of 210 nations. All nations who reject capitalism whilst valuing civil rights will be made welcome.

Likewise I would invite any anticapitalist nation to visit the Celdonian Diplomatic Quarter (http://invisionfree.com/forums/CACE/index.php?act=idx) which is frequented by a number of nations from many regions. (And there's no regional recruitment within the forums so no one will be encouraging you to leave your present region and join the ACA or anything like that.)

I hope this information has been of use. I would recommend visiting the Anticapitalist Alliance and the Celdonian Diplomatic Quarter (http://invisionfree.com/forums/CACE/index.php?act=idx) and see for yourself whether they appeal.

Given the offers you have had though, I feel confident that your people will find a suitable home soon.

Regards.

In response to the call for aid from our neighbors to the south, SeOCC has prepared and will shortly begin shipping aid shipments of food, water and water purification equipment to help alleviate the crisis currently experienced by the Nomadic League. We invite the leaders of the Nomadic League to meet with the leaders of the Aperin Central Economic Planning Board to discuss what long term projects will be required to provide long term food and water security for their people.

The Nomadic League thanks Seocc for their generosity in our time of need. We will quickly send food and water to the most needy communities. We estimate that these shipments alone will keep some 225,000 people alive for the next year, estimates put the final figure around the 1 million mark after extra crop production is included.

With the aid of water purification equipment vast areas of land can be opened up to settlement without fear of disease from local water sources.

This is the perfect first step in solving out current food problem while keeping helping out economy in the long run.

Greetings,

Per our Queen we've readied 10 tons of various foodstuffs that will be leaving port within the hour with another 10 tons to be readied within the week. Due to a recent terrorist attack we are unable to send the water we had intended as it is needed for fire fighting. We can, however send workers with our next shipment of food to assist you in setting up water supplies, dam and water reclaimation. Equipement can be sent once our present situation is resolved and damages evaluated.
Regretfully we can do little else at this time.

Sincerely,
Queen Regent,
Head of Intelligence,

DragonsReach we thank you for you generous food donations. While we still require assistance to adequately feed everyone, we feel that sending equipment and farming experts is the more logical choice over the long term.

We now have access to enough water to sustain a reasonable degree of use, the only issue we have is transporting it too everyone. Could someone be so kind as to lend us some transportation trucks?

Once we have formulated a plan that will give enough food and water to all citizen of the Nomadic League we hope to get some sort of industry set up.

Djugisvili Haters we respect your decision no to send aid. But we do disagree with you idea that Aid is useless, less fortunate countries such as the Nomadic League sometime require Aid to keep it's citizens alive and this is when aid can help. Well off countries most of the time have a surplus of food and they can either leave it to rot or send it off as aid and help fellow people. If we receive no aid at all we could either die or try to get the food using other methods eg war. You see aid can help by not only keeping people alive but prevents war.

We suggest the Nomadic League apply, with haste, to the IFTA (http://invisionfree.com/forums/CACE/index.php?c=5), to allow your nation to begin trade with IFTA member states. The IFTA is also an ideal body to appeal to for aid.

The Kingdom has elected to send over to your nation 30 trucks as a gift and gesture of goodwill to aid in your shipping of goods to all needy towns. Furthermore the Emperor has also ordered over 20 tons of emergancy supplies to be sent to your nation. Even more is that the Emperor is giving the Nomadic League $500 Million as reconstruction aid and has offered to send over experts to help rebuild your nation. We look forward to making a strong alliance and relationship with the League.
