The Death of Tenchi Masaki: Funeral thread

Emperor Andrew Masaki and his wife, Senator Jennifer Masaki stood before the Senate, solemn and sad.
"We regret to inform the Galaxy, and all our allies, that Jedi Master Tenchi Masaki has fallen to an unknown evil." Andrew said as the people gasped. "My grandfather's death was unexpected, and whoever has done it will be brought to justice!
Tenchi Masaki was a powerful Jedi, and the first leader of the Imperial Republic of Coreworlds. He became President at the young age of 18, astonishing the nation and his competitors. He sailed the nation through good times and evil, even defeating the false Emperor Hamdo at the end of our Civil War. His body will never be recovered, but we will still have a funeral in his honor. We will tell you the date, time and location of the actual funeral, but for now, all flags are at half-staff until further notice, and businesses and schools will close. Thank you, and may the Force be with you."
OOC: This is broadcast to all corners of the galaxy, even Earth. Modern nations can send a delegate to the Mod-tech territory of Coreworlds (where Spain/Portugal is). Capital is Corusca City.

Kartion stood in the background, completely camoflagued in the shadows. Wearing all black, he watched solemnly as Andrew gave his speech. But he had told a lie, but one that had a good reason.
Andrew's father had killed Tenchi. All the initiates, Jedi knights and masters felt Tenchi's . Kartion had felt it the most, because of how much he knew Tenchi. Andrew and Kartion had grown up together, and gone their seperate ways after the wedding. But they'd kept in regular contact, and now, Kartion was mentoring Andrew's son, Daniel, and protecting him from whatever evils that might want him.
As the speech ended, Kartion moved out of the shadows, and through the door leading to the backstage. He walked ten paces fowards, before turning on heel, and looking at the doorway. Recently, Kartion had grown his hair, and it drooped down to his ear lobes. Folding his arms, he looked down at the floor, and waited for the door to open...

The door opened and Andrew was surprised to see Kartion. "My friend...is Daniel all right?"
Jonas stood in the doorway, his shaggy brown hair the usual farmer boy hairstyle it is. He was wearing black clothes, with a cape covering one arm. He watched as Andrew gave the speech, Jonas's father, Imitus VI, had been freinds with Tenchi.
Imitus VI was not able to attend the speech, or funeral. He was living on his get away planet, an oceanic planet with beautiful islands dotted here and there. He had stepped down from the throne of Emperor of Techon.
Jonas was Imitus's secret son, no one knew he was until recently. During three fourth's of Jonas's life he had been brainwashed by a fanatical group intent of destroying Techon from the inside out. Jonas had been taken into this group, and given the identity Rend.
He had recently, by the brilliant work of three of Techon's greatest agents, been brought back to his original self. So now here he was, Techon was being ruled by the council until they think he is ready. He guessed he had a good two years before he would become emperor.
He stood and watched, waiting, and bowed his head.

"Good. I see he's training well. Hello Jonas." Andrew greeted the other man. They followed Kartion to his ship, where a young boy in a mop of brown hair stepped down, sweaty after his training.
"Hi Dad!" He called. "It's pretty bad, eh?"
"Yeah. Go ahead and wash up. Delegates will start arriving soon."
"Ok." Daniel headed with some guards to the Palace. He'll change to his formal robes after his shower.
"He's trained well." Andrew noted. "Emotions in check, etcetera. He has a good teacher."

Kartion grinned, "You're making me blush Andrew! Really though, he's been great. He's progressing much faster than even I expected." he said, before going to his ship, and patting it.
"Like it?" Kartion asked.
The ship was a large Correlian Corvette. Unlike others of it's class, Kartion had given it many modifications, including a new paintjob. Kartion had added more turrets, two mauevering jets, a fire paintjob on the front part of the ship, almost making it look like it was on fire. He'd also upgraded the hyperdrive, installed the latest shields, but most importantly, converted it into a mini Jedi Academy.
The ship had a library, five duelling dojo's, each different, a teaching hall, a meditation chamber, and a large room with a forcefield bubble over it.
Kartion called it 'The View'. The room was carpetted, had a few chairs, but mainly, it had a brilliant 180 view. The bubble could be seen on the topside of the ship. All that was there was a few frames, each crammed with shield generators, making 'The View', the safest part of the ship. Kartion used it when he wanted to see the galaxy in all it's glory, or to show Daniel how beautiful the galaxy is through the force's eye.
Kartion leant on the ship, awaiting Andrew's rely...

IC:
The funeral is held at the Jedi Temple on Juria (and the All Faiths Cathedrial in Earthside Coreworlds). Thousands of sobbing people came out to pay their respects to the greatest man Coreworlds has ever known.
"Ladies and gentlemen, His Majesty, the Emperor Andrew Masaki!" An aide announced as people sat down on the grounds, watching the holovids of my dad and me (Daniel) coming out to make a speech.
"Fellow Coredians, citizens of the galaxy, we are all gathered here to pay our last respects to a great Jedi Master, father of the nation, and grandfather of the Masaki Family." Dad started. "John 'Tenchi' Masaki was born in the year 3985, to Nathan and Andrea Masaki and grew up as a Jedi family, not knowing of the destiny that would befall on him.
"Even as a young child, he defended weaker children from bullies, getting in many scrapes on the schoolgrounds of Saltus Grammar School in Bermuda." The Emperor smiled.
http://www.androidnews.com/images/New%20pics/Tenchi5.jpg
Tenchi, 6, telling bullies to stop.
"He grew up, and grew strong in the Force. When he was 12, he trained under his own grandfather, Yosho Masaki and learned many skills, and especially on leadership."
http://www.animeinfo.org/featured/tenchi/people/katsuhito.jpg
Yosho, and Tenchi when he got old.
"At age 15, there was a great change in the nation, as young people were elected to the Senate. People younger than 25 were considered more honest, and still are, so it was no surprise that Tenchi himself ran for office. He became a Senator at that time, helping to set up the many orphanages that dot the countryside you see now."
http://www.androidnews.com/images/Newest%20pics/tntn.jpg
Senator Masaki
"At that time, the former President Watergate was not the best person in the world, having many scandals under his belt. Tenchi found out that the President was planning to abolish the Senate and become a dictator, so he led a police/army force to arrest him. In the ensuing firefight, many officers were killed, but the Senator forced the President to abdicate his office and the former leader was under house arrest for life."
"This prompted the general public to ask him to run for election, knowing that a Jedi would be a much better choice than an old geezer of a President.” Chuckles came from the audience. “So he ran against other old men, and won a landslide election, getting more than 55% of the electoral and popular votes.”
“In his long term as President, Tenchi has done many great things, from cracking down on the slave trade around the world to making peace with the Dragons of Coreworlds, whom you can still see in the Dragon Mountains on Earth and here.”
http://www.animeinfo.org/featured/tenchi/people/tenchi.jpg
President John 'Tenchi' Masaki
“But it would be two things that would propel President Tenchi Masaki to the top as the greatest of all Core leaders.”
“One was the Civil War, in which General Hamdo, Yosho Masaki’s former apprentice initiated a false murder charge against him and sent him to work as a slave-soldier. Then, during the Battle of Bermuda, the Fedral Union, Corneliu, -Noir-, and other allies helped the Rebel Fleet push back Hamdo’s forces, prompting him to launch a Hitler-style invasion of Konohagekure Village, a province-nation to the northeast of Earthside Coreworlds.”
http://www.geocities.com/otherandhamdo/cap016.jpg
General/Emperor Hamdo
“That invasion, too was beaten back, and a nuclear device was found and deactivated by the valiant forces of the Jedi, the Rebel military, and the Allies. In the last battle, however, Yosho Masaki was slain by Hamdo, and Tenchi, neared the Dark Side before turning back and slaying the false Emperor. In his dying breath, Yosho has conferred upon his grandson the level of Jedi Knight.” Andrew took a sip of water and continued.
“A few months later, a terrorist group led by Gatou, a precursor to the Red Dragons, managed to destroy the former capital of Core City with a nuclear missile. Fortunately, the terrorist group was crushed by the military and allied forces. Tenchi also proposed marriage to his girlfriend Toni at this time.”
“Two years later, Tenchi Masaki married Antonia ‘Toni’ Katherine Bento, in a great and happy ceremony. However, that ceremony was interrupted by an evil cult called the Red Dragons. At the Reception, the Chancellor of -Noir’s- wife, Mireille, and dozens of children were kidnapped by the evil group, who sacrificed a child to bring out the Demons.”
“Thus began the Demon War, where Tenchi, Naruto, Yusuke, Imitus (Techon’s leader), Keiji and others went through a Shroud, brought it down, and destroyed the Demon King. This was also Coreworlds’ entrance into space, as we built a Star Destroyer with the help of Kuat Drive Yards.”
The chairman of the shipyards waves to the cameras.
“That was the end of Tenchi’s major contributions to Coreworlds, as he continued to rule with a kind hand. He retired at age 60, giving the Presidency to Chris Masaki, his younger son after Alex, my father, was presumed missing and dead. Chris Masaki decided to change the title from President to Emperor, infuriating Tenchi, but he relented, because he knew he could keep checks on him. He was still active after retirement, on the Jedi Council to this day and making sure that peace continues to reign out.”
“He died at 12:30 am last week, aged 95. We couldn’t recover his body because it disappeared.” It was true, but my dad couldn’t say where it disappeared because he didn’t know. “Now, we shall say our final good byes to the greatest man who ever lived in our nation.”

"Daniel." Dad nodded to me.
I solemnly placed the clothes of Grandfather Tenchi on the cremation altar. Tenchi's first lightsaber was also placed on it, but it will survive the heat as it survived time.
I stepped back and Dad lit the kindling. As the fire roared to life, the Jedi Masters of Coreworlds surrounded the altar, and we all ignited our lightsabers in salute, and together, we repeated the Jedi Code:
There is no emotion; there is peace.
There is no ignorance; there is knowledge.
There is no passion; there is serenity.
There is no Death, only the Force.
The flames lept high in the sky, as if they, too, were trying to say goodbye. I tried to hold back tears but they came anyway. Goodbye, Grandfather Tenchi.

Be brave Kartion, Tenchi left us, but he did have a good run... Kartion's mind said. Kartion agreed, and looked down at Daniel. Kartion sidestepped, and the sighed, putting a kind hand on Daniel's shoulder.
"It's alright Daniel...Tenchi's become one with the Force, and he died honourably, fighting against evil, and if not defeating it, delaying it. If you asked me, I'd call that a true hero's passing..." Kartion said, squeezing Daniel's shoulder gently.

Yeah. A true hero. I continued to allow tears to fall.
Jonas approached, a portable hologram under his arm, he bowed to Daniel, and set the hologram on the ground, he stepped back, and hit a button on his wrist console.
"My father wishes to have a word with you," he said.
The hologram came up, it was Imitus VI, he was dressed in the formal long blue and silver robes, his gray hair back in the three braids stretching down his back, and the necklace around his neck.
He was aged, his face was thin, it still had strength, but not as much as it once did. He managed a smile.
"Daniel," he said in a raspy voice as he bowed. "You might have heard of me, maybe not, I have never had the glory of meeting you in person. I have, however, met Tenchi Masaki. We were freinds you could say. We had been through a lot together, mostly just the Demon Wars. To say in the least Tenchi was a great man, an amazing man. Never have I ever seen a better leader, who is calm on the battle feild, and fearless against fear itself.
"I cannot tell you how many apologies I owe for not being there in person, I have, however, been on a long get away from everything. I have long exceeded my guess of years to live, being 85, sixty years in prison does not do your health good. You might know of my case that got me falsely accused and thrown in prison, but it matters not anymore."
He coughed slightly, bringing a handkercheif up to his mouth and wiping it off, he looked back at Daniel. "My time in this world is almost up. I already have planned my departure day into the silver sea. I shall set sail upon a white ship, along with Sage Cornellis, and Philip Hirzel. It would not only honor me if you were at the ceremony, but it will also honor me, if you would, bring the ashes that are of what still remains of Tenchi's physical self. I would wish to make sure my old friend journies with me into Elysium. I am not forcing you to, I am just asking."

"Tell Imitus that I would be honored to do so." I said, not knowing that it would be my first Imperial decision.
"Very well," Jonas said bowing extremely low to the ground. He raised back up, and crouched down, picking up the hologram recording device, and walked away.
"Uncle John...Sniff...Sniff..." whimpered Nina as she cried on her mother Mireille's shoulder, who had tears streaming down her face as she remembered the good times they had had. Kenshin was silently staring at the altar as if he were hypnotized by it, while tears fell from his eyes, as he also remembered the times he spent with his uncle.
Keiji stood by the funeral pyre, with his fists clenched, while trying to suppress his tears. No...He can't go like this...It is impossible...My friend would never allow himself to die like this...It just can't be... Looking over to his side, Keiji saw Andrew who was standing by the altar, and walked over to him and placed his hand on Andrew's shoulder.
