"It is good to be back..." Station Commander Kerrack stood reflecting on the internal bridge of the just finished Valhalla station. "And what a thing of beauty she is!" He stared out the window, looking down upon the lush gardens and parks of the Upper Habitat Deck, glancing up revealed Earth, dominating the view through the transparent upper hull.

<<Crash Savage here aboard the Triumvirate of Yut EarthSphere Station Valhalla, which has officially reopened for business. Since the destruction of the orignial station, there has been no combined ToY diplo-presence in EarthSphere, a hole that KCTS FleetWerks and 01MC have been working tirelessly to patch. The station will serve as a combined ToY embassy, commerce hub, transport station, and tourism facility for the public sector, while providing a home-port away from home for the currently deployed EathSphere Fleet.>>
<<Link Disconnect>>

OOC info: Just what the news article says it is, diplo/commerce/tourism/trade station, available for use as neutral ground as well. Shuttles run to and from all major airports. Security is very tight. Externally, it is home of the currently deployed ToY earth-theater fleet, and internally, by a well equipped security force and comprehensive sensor system. Attacks on the station require OOC permission. The foward section under the blue dome is the habitat, many levels topped with the garden/park llevel under the transparent dome. The Grey semi-ring at the habitat's base is the hangar facilities, with the obvious spacedock below. Dock has room for vessels up to 2k in length, larger requires shuttles. Any questions, feel free to OOC post.

MV Bifrost
Second Lieutenant Bondayehr gets up with a grunt, holding a hand up to the medical crews on standby as he works his way out of his 'coffin' on the fighter-sized Ferret reconnaissance drone modified for special-operator insertion. Releasing the latches on the next set, he makes sure his six troopers are safely aboard. "Corporal Friedlitz, get your troopers some downtime. I'm sure IntSec will want to grill us all about what happened (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=356972&page=1). Take whatever time you can get--on the bounce."

"Got it, sir." The corporal nods, marshals the other five special operatives, then jogs out of the hangar bay while Timofeyev watches, leaning against the side of the Ferret.

"Well, I got 'em home. We now return to your regularly scheduled death already in progress." He grins weakly and nods to the medtechs as he passes out, blood long kept in check by force of will alone quickly pooling under him.

Valhalla Station
"He's in a bad way, but nothing you can't fix, ma'am. His records have you as his primary physician, so we decided to not even try--just boxed him up in stasis and shipped him direct to you while Bifrost takes on more cargo."

The avatar of the Gestalt nods. "I'm sure I can borrow the use of an operating suite and mend your lieutenant for you. Just go get him, and I'll be ready..."

* - * - *

"Welcome to Valhalla, Timofeyev." S.H.O.D.A.N. smiles down at her latest patient.

"Odd. I didn't expect you to be a valkyrie," the lieutenant quipped. "Then again, I'm getting used to getting hurt, falling down, and then waking up to see you whether that hurt is intentional or no. My troopers?"

"Perfectly fine, if a little concerned about their lieutenant."

Timofeyev shrugs lightly under the sheets. "I'm patched up, I assume?"

"Reconstructed all the way to the dermis. I decided to leave the skin torn and bandaged up so it may heal as naturally and grotesquely as you desire."

Bondayehr nods gently on the pillow. "Souvenirs?"

The avatar looks down and picks out a .223 steel round distorted into a sort of tiny scythe. "This would be it."

"Nice. I guess I'll just be going then... thanks again, Shodey. Something tells me this won't be the last time. Just don't let Nathi know, 'k? She worries enough as is." Sitting up, the lieutenant quickly discovers his uniform and starts to slip it on.

Shodey chuckles wryly. "I suppose there is no point in asking or telling you to take care of yourself."

"Never do." With a very wry and very mischievous half-grin, Timofeyev waves shortly before disappearing out the door.

"Sweet Jesu ... the size of that thing is incredible!" the raven-haired woman remarks, looking out at Valhalla Station from her comfortable pilot's seat onboard the Tempest.

"And here I thought you were the one accusing men of being the ones always concerned with size," comes the by now, expected sort of smartassed remark from the young man sitting in the seat next to her, his clean-shaven face alight with mischief.

"Mas, so help me God, if I didn't need you ..."

He chuckles and nods. "Si, la mia Imperatrice, I know ... I know. 'Off with his head', I expect ... or perhaps just your standard pound of flesh?"

Nathicana scowls, muttering half-hearted curses under her breath, which of course elicits another broad grin from Massetti, her chief of security - although he does have the presence of mind not to push it further.

"Remind me again why you had to come along?" she says, sending along identification, requests for clearance to the station, and another request to let vonKarma know they've arrived, all while shooting him a sidelong little glare. Ah, the joys of datajacks and neural interfaces.

"The stunning repartee," he replies in perfect deadpan, making a show of looking out the front viewport, saying nothing more for a while as the affirmations and instructions for landing are relayed back.

"You're right. It is big, though."

"Shut it, Mas."

"Yes'm."

--- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ---

Once aboard, Massetti settles back in to a more serious demeanor, taking up his position as her personal security. The fact that they are onboard an alliance station means only that the chances of something going amiss are substantially small. Not, however, impossible - not in his eyes. Nathicana of course, makes it quite clear by her demeanor that she doesn't feel any of this necessary, and while given past incidents that have bitten her in the ass have made such precautions necessary, that she still doesn't appreciate it. The discussion on the topic is thankfully kept to a bare minimum. After all, arguing with one's bodyguards is no way to maintain one's reputation.

She leads the way towards the rendezvous point, her step quickening somewhat in anticipation. vK was never one to do things by half, and she had to admit ... as incredible as the gift was on it's own, she was curious as hell to see what her crazy flight instructor (who just happened to be the uncontested leader of Karmabaijan) had done to turn it out.

Crazy son of a bitch, she thinks fondly. Shouldn't have done it. Still ... if he keeps up with that 'worshipfulness' crap, pretty pressie or no, I'ma gonna thwap him.

Upon landing, a diplomatic officer gives Nathi directions to a spot on the Upper Habitat Deck. Walking there, Nathi and Massetti pass through the industrial areas of the public spacedocks, with ships and people coming and going in some sort of organized chaos. A large blast door opens to a wide thoroughfare lined at regular intervals with lifts to upper decks and corridors that branch off, signs over head directing people to living spaces, shops, recreation, and of course, the Upper Habitat Deck. The fast lift opens to a modest elevator lobby with another set of airtight doors that open when approached.

Walking through, the scenery changes quite dramatically. The metallic corridor is replaced with a garden path, winding through a small vineyard. To the right, a wildflower field is in full bloom, and to the left, citrus trees are tended by a group of people. Overhead, the sloping transparent dome gazes out at Earth, as the terminator line sweep across the land far below, and the first rays of sun creep over the edge of the planet.

The path ends at a small restaurant on the edge of the Upper deck, looking over the fields, forests, and sports fields of the Lower Habitat Deck. vonKarma is sitting at a table, and stands as Nathi and Mas approach. He bows, "Greetings your most kind majesty. I bid the great Imperatrice welcome to our humble station." Grinning he stands.

"Nice to see you as well, Mr. Massetti. While you were hear, I was hoping you would sample some of our local wine. Not quite Dominion level yet, but they are working on it. It's very good for a first attempt, using grapes grown right here on the station."

A waiter appears with a bottle and three glasses, fills them, and then returns a short moment later with a cheese tray.

"Please, sit and relax!"

OOC: Fluid-time warp generators ONLINE!

IC: Commander Oorou, top banana of the Sakkran Branch of the Jheer Rangers, looks over the diplo-whatsis communique. Before him stands Sub-Commander Sshrrakaa and her Sub-Commander Kheel. The mobile avatar of Wheeland is also present. The three are arranged around a large maple desk, with the Commander sitting behind it, his hands clasped behind his head.

"So the Valhalla station has been remade. It's to be considered a neutral zone, and as such we of the Rangers here may want to see about establishing a bit of a post there. Help us keep an eye on things inside and outside of the Triumvirate. Also, you three need some R&R. That excursion to find fleet rabid was taxing on all of you, i'm sure. Good work on that, by the way."

The two Sub-Commanders nod their heads, while Wheeland's tiny lizard avatar bobs her head. Oorou continues. "So what do you think? Care for a working holiday?" the Sub-Comms look at each other, and at Wheeland, and then at the Commander. "I assume if we say no, that this will then become a mission, and the order will send us anyway, right?" The Commander nods his head. "Well, looks like we have a choice here, Sshrrakaa. We go or we go under orders."

"Some choice. Very well, Commander. We accept." Kheel and Sshrrakaa stand and salute, while the avatar of Wheeland does the same, but looks much more comical about it. Like the Geico gecko.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Wheeland approaches the Valhalla station slowly. The only crew aboard are the two sub-commanders, as this isn't a combat mission. "Well, it's big for certain." Kheel looks at the P-space screen, which to him is represented by a scrying ball. He tips his wizard's hat at a jaunty angle and rubs his hands around his viewer. "Oh, magic crystal ball. Tell me what the future holds. OOoOOooOoOOOOooo!"

By the Pantheon. Why do I have to be surrounded by lunatics? Sshrrakaa lets her eyes roll so high into her head she could see through her nostrils. "Quite fooling and comm the station. Sheesh......"

No doubt about it - Valhalla is one hell of a piece of work. What isn't so much expected is just what a natural habitat is possible, even here, and it takes both Nathicana and Massetti by surprise.

"Beautiful view, no?" she murmurs as they walk, to which Mas simply nods in agreement.

Nathicana smiles broadly as she catches sight of vonKarma, though her demeanor chills a bit as he carries on again with the 'majesty' schtick. "Look here, boyo ... first things first. Enough with the damned titles, capiche? You know damn well I get more than my fill of that without having my friends carry on as well. Bah. Humble station indeed. Not one damn thing 'humble' about it." The last of course, delivered with a wry smile, the momentary irritation fading quickly.

"A pleasure, El Presidente - grazie," Mas teases a bit, grinning "Indeed, let's sample this wine of yours." He does, of course, have the presence of mind to wait for Nathi to take a seat, and take a sip herself before taking a sip as well.

"Not bad ... not bad, Xeruyu," she says thoughtfully, taking time to savour the wine. "I hope you're not thinking to cut in on my market." Nathi gives him a mischievous sidelong glance as she speaks, taking another slow sip.

"KCTS? Cut into a market? Well, I'm sure they would try, but with the limited supply of grapes here, I don't think you need to worry, your worshipfu.....Nathi." He grins before tipping his glass back.

"Well, thought I would show you what we did with the place, but I am sure you are anxious to see your little present." He reaches under the table, and pulls up a large-ish box. Removing the lid, he takes out a very detailed model of a Loki painted in Dominion colors and hands it to nathi. "Here it is!"

Maria Sanchez stepped off her shuttle and waited patiently for the airlock hatch to cycle. A moment later she stepped out into the spacious, well-lit corridor of the space station. She took a moment to admire the lean, functional design that still managed to avoid seeming claustrophobic. It was familiar to her, since the Emperor had purchased the T-7 station she presently commanded, but far in advance of what she was used to.

What I wouldn't give to have resources like this under my command.

Finally she turned to the young TYCS officer patiently waiting for her and returned the salute he was presenting to her. "Admiral Sanchez requesting permission to come aboard."

"Permission granted, Ma'am," the Lieutenant replied as he lowered his hand. "Welcome aboard Valhalla Station. Do you have any luggage to be stowed?"

"No, thank you. I regret I won't be staying that long." She fell into step beside the young man as he lead her to a conference room with a panoramic view of the sky. The Earth was just barely visible to port as the station rotated on its access.

"Can I get you anything while you wait?"

"I see water in the corner, thank you. I'll be fine."

"Aye, Ma'am. The others should be with you shortly."

"Thank you, Lieutenant." Too bad this is just a meet-and-greet. I wouldn't mind staying longer.

Nathi winks, taking another slow sip of her wine. "Well then I shall expect to be filling some orders to take up any slack," she says with a grin. "And yes, I think we would both enjoy seeing more of this marvel you've constructed here - though I do admit curiousity about my new Loki."

As he takes out the model, her brows arch up, leaning in to better take a look at it ... then shifting her gaze to vK with a hint of suspicion. "That is a very, very pretty ship there, boy. Very pretty indeed. However did you manage to pull such detail on such a scale? And why offer the little hologram at the coronation if the ship itself were only this much larger?" she asks with a wry smile. "Do all the little hatches and hinges work?"

Massetti coughs lightly, using the excuse to put his hand over his mouth and turn away, his shoulders shaking as he laughs quietly, looking anywhere but at the Dread Lady.

OOC: Yes, but please remeber that any major activity (i.e. attacks and the like) require ooc permission. The station is open to host conferences/diplomatic meetings between your nation and the ToY are welcome, but a little note asking for permission (IC), for "neutral ground" services would be nice.

Carialle ran the message again just to be sure and it was the same. "Keff, Keff, I think we have first contact."

"Are you kidding me?" he asked as he leaped up from his bed, laid the book carefully on it then bounded out of the room and up the steps to the main cabin.

Carialle was just as excited as he was but just couldn't resist, "No I was joking." He stared at her in complete uncompresion, with such a comical look that she couldn't help but giggle.

Keff placed his hands on his hips and gave a stern look, "Fair Lady doth jest."

"Be seated upon my couch Sir Galahad and prepare to be amazed." He sat down and she played the message for him. He looked back, "Can you get a fix?"

"I'm tracking the signals trajectory and estimating the rate of decay. I can put us close to the source with one small jump."

"Lets do it", he said excitedly.

Carialle computed the jump and dove into the singularity point. Possibilities crashed around her like a breaking wave and she rode the wave through the multiple possibilities until normal space erupted and she emerged from the jump. Keff leaned forward in his couch as Carialle enhanced the image. "God", he said, "that's bigger then the SSS-900 station."

She opened a channel and began her message, "This is the Central Worlds Exploration Vessel KC-1035. We are unarmed and seek contact with other life outside our system." She repeated the message. "I hope they're friendly", she enlarging the Valhalla's image.

"If not I don't see much we can do about it", he replied.

||Comm: R.S.F. Wheeland||

"Valhalla Station, this is Ranger Ship Wheeland requesting docking orders for myself and my Handlers, Sub-Commanders Sshrrakaa and Kheel. Standing by ...."

<<Standby::TitanYutLink>>
" Well, now we wait for the orders. You ready to disembark?" The avatar of Wheeland is perched on Sshrrakaa's shoulder, tapping the side of her neck with its holographic fingers, made possible by a small remote transmitter attached to the shoulder-pad of her Ranger uniform. It also registers sound and light into a receiving unit so the avatar can see all that the Rangers see.

The two Rangers stood within the airlock, waiting for the triple-doors to open. "Yes, Wheeland. Got my bags packed and ready. Kheel....." She looks over at the other Sub-Commander, whos duffle seems to have objects in them that stick out at odd angles. "What in the known systems do you have?"

Kheel gives the approximation of a grin, lays his duffle down and zips it open. "Why, anything one would need for a good session of R&R. It's a working vacation, right? The primary thing being vacation. SO I packed some of my 'Vacation' supplies." He begins pulling things out of the duffle in the way that affords the viewer a small peek.

His vacation supplies involved a whoopie-cushion, some Groucho glasses, cigars and some liquor. A smattering of clothing and a portable holo-disk projecter was also present. Sshrrakaa rolls her eyes high.

"Oh, by the Pantheon......"

From his vantage point leaning against a structural support pillar, Captain Bondayehr sees the two Sakkrans emerge from the inner door of the airlock. Half-smiling in his usual way--albeit more broadly than usual--he raises a hand in greeting before stepping forward, his gold belt buckle and O-3's insignia shining slightly to offset the black leather pilot's tunic with its various geckoweb insignia. "Ah, I see my information was accurate. Knew those connections would come in handy some day. Good cycle, Sub-Commanders Sshrrakaa and Kheel."

Sshrrakaa gives the approximation of a grin. In essence, the air smells heavily of nutmeg. "Good cycle to you, Captain Bondayehr. The little fellow perched on my shoulder is Wheeland." The tiny gecko-like creature waves a diminutive hand, its image flickering for a moment. Kheel gives a salute in a snappy, if not slightly sloppy fashion. "Good cycle to youm Captain Bondayehr. It has been some time. I assume there are stories we can swap? I love a good story...."

The end of his statement is punctuated by a short elbow to his ribs. "Are you always on?" Sshrrakaa gives him a look that easily translates into 'Shut yer gob!' She then seems to wipe all irritation from her face. "So here for a bit of R&R, yes? Something we all can use."
Scolopendra
22-12-2004, 07:09
Bondayehr returns Kheel's salute, nothing sloppy about it, then returns to informality after bowing shortly to Wheeland's avatar. "Just a stop between another PCS. I do wish that, someday, they'd tell me what exactly they want me to do sometime before I get where they want me to be. Ah, well, flexibility is the key to airpower. I see you've been doing well for yourself, ma'am." He winks quickly.

"Stories? Oh, yeah, I've got plenty of them." He smirks a little wryly. "Whether or not I can tell most of them is a different matter altogether. Long story short, after shipping me out through the Mobile Infantry Special Operators for three years, they've now decided I should be a second-rate fighter pilot or something." Timofeyev momentarily indicates his snappy double-breasted black leather tunic. "I get the feeling that I'm being assigned to a fighter wing, but not to fly--but somewhere where knowing a bit about being a fighter pilot may be useful for something. Right now they're telling me to relax while they get everything set up, and that's where the R&R come in."
Sakkra
22-12-2004, 08:11
A short, sharp laugh escapes Sshrrakaa's mouth. "Harf! When the top tells you to relax while they set things up, that's when the time to worry starts." Her finger waggles a bit in the air. "Mark my words. They're up to something sneaky."

Kheel looks at the Sub-Commander, and then at Timofeyev. "Paranoid, that one is." He jerks a thumb at Sshrrakaa, then hoists his bag up. "The Sakkran branch of the Rangers has seen its share of activity. Top told us to take some liesure before we snap or something, and Wheeland here has a Cultural Field-Study report to prep up for her Tutors out in the Sszeeraa Belt. Better than sticking us on some volcanic hell-pit again, taking mineral samples and setting up listening posts and such. By the Pantheon, that was miserable." He visibly shudders as he says this.

"So tell me, Captain Bondayehr. Where are the visiting guests slated to bed down? I'd like to dispose of this luggage and get to the job of relaxing."

"No volcano planets, but some places nearly as bad." Timofeyev frowns a bit. "I suppose they may be doing the same for me, releasing tension--can't say that I've really enjoyed my career thus far.

"As for Visiting Officer's Billeting, Sub-Commander," Captain Bondayehr says as he seamlessly shifts back into cordial, friendly formality, "there are several blocks of those on various levels. The closest is in C Block, Level 26. I can lead on, if you'd like."

Massetti coughs lightly, using the excuse to put his hand over his mouth and turn away, his shoulders shaking as he laughs quietly, looking anywhere but at the Dread Lady.

"But of course they do. But they work so much better on the big one. See?" vonKarma points to the transparent upper hull as an exact duplicate of the model, scaled up to the tune of 100 meters, skims over the surface, seemingly meters from the outer hull of Valhalla. It does a slow longitudinal roll before disappearing from view on the far "horizon."

"If you would follow me, I think a little trip back down to the hangar deck is in order." vK leads the way to a wide set of doors along the bulkhead of the cafe. After a few moments, the doors slide open and a transport car that seats about twelve is revealed. Stepping in, the doors, detecting no other passengers, slide closed, and the fully glazed pod slides out of the station, foward, along the edge of the dome.

"The lower and upper habitat decks are a fully self-sustatining bio-sphere. We found people adjust better to life in orbit if they have a little green to look at as well. The "ocean" is one of our most popular additions." Below, as the pod curves around the habitat decks a small ocean can be seen, with people lining the beach. The pod transitions to vertical movement and follows its track, straight beneath the waves of the ocean at the far end of the station. A few fish are visible for an instant before the pod curves back under the habitat decks and speeds back along the length of the station toward the hangar decks. Sliding to a stop, the doors slide open and vK leads the way out. A sign proclaims their destination is the "VIP Hangar Deck," and arrows point toward berth numbers.

"Lucky number seven." Keying a code into the door, it slides open, revealing the sweeping prow and streamlined foward wing of a vK-special Loki.

"Well, there she is! Zin had an interior decorator flown up from the Dominion to do the inside. For some reason he didn't like my idea of carbon-fiber and slate-grey steel. Go figure." vK rolls his eyes, before showing Nathi and Mas inside.

Sshrrakaa motions her hand outwards in a 'By your lead' maneuver. "Of course, Captain." She shoulder sher bags, and makes sure her Garu-XII pistol is holstered, empty of ammo and secure.

"I think a nice hot mug of Plum Sake will do wonders for the constitution. Probably loosen the jaw for stories of daring-do in the face of beaurocratic ineptitude and all that. I noticed an arcology when we were making our entrance. Any news on that front?" The Wheeland-avatar pipes in on her shoulder.

" Don't forget about the migration to the G.A.B. that the Tutors have planned. Should be quite a sight for those not accustomed to it." The Sub-Commander nods her head. "Yes, the Flankers, or what are reffered to as Cruiser-class ships, are migrating en masse to the Great Asteroid Belt. Those on inactive duty, anyway. Full sail displays and everything."
Scolopendra
28-12-2004, 18:45
"Outstanding," replies the captain as he half-smirks in a happy way, turning to lead on. "That should be a sight to see; I only hope I get the chance. As for the arcology... hell, Valhalla's a city under a bubble. Even has it's own 'ocean' with a fully-sustainable ecosphere--bigger than any other orbiting ocean, I'm made to understand, all none of them. Honestly, sometimes I think the Karmabaijani get a bit carried away with their engineering projects."

The lower decks of Valhalla are not Spartan by any stretch of the imagination, but they do retain a sort of streamlined efficiency from the use of molded vanity panels on the walls. "As for that sake, I know there has to be a bar around here somewhere. I'll check for it while we're in the transport car." The transport car 'station' is just a door inset into a thick rounded plexiglas wall, allowing people to watch it slip into the station. Bondayehr leads the two Sakkrans into one, then keys it to go to the local visiting officer billeting block. "This'll be a bit faster. So, anything new besides the usual day-in-day-out job?"
Sakkra
28-12-2004, 19:08
"Anything new....anything new...hmmm...." Sshrrakaa cups her hand in her chin in thought. "Well, we're slated to test-fire the newest strain of Chunk Projector. Rumor around R&D has it that it fires variable rounds or something. Not sure what it means, but beats the regular patrol details. Other than that, been pretty quiet on the job. Still field testing the Ranger Encounter Suits whenever we come across some new terrain type they haven't been exposed to."

Kheel looks about him at the transport. "Quite an interesting conveyance. Not much different from our public transit tubeways. Think some of our designs are inspiring other people?"

"I wouldn't bet on it. Most nations don't like their machines and such to look like a squishy thing." She looks out the window of the conveyance. "I'm also supposed to ask some high mucky-muck about setting up an outpost here. Something good for PR or sommat."

28-12-2004, 22:58
"Oooh, Chunk Projectors. Those are fun." Bondayehr smiles broadly and quite impishly. "Put ninety-millimeter thermobarics in those and go flatten some houses. Yee-haw--the M.I. will look forward to almost any advancement in that."

After a short ride, the transport car stops and the legend on the wall clearly identifies this sector block as a military residential one. "Well, here we are. Just check in at the desk and they'll arrange some rooms for you."
Sakkra
29-12-2004, 04:59
"Sounds good. I'll keep you updated as to the status of the new Projecters. Who knows, maybe you'll get to assist in the test-firings. Need more than one perspective on these things, after all."

The two of them check in at the desk, filling out the appropo forms and stamping any signatures needed. Wheeland, not surprisingly, has little need for luggage and such being a holographic projection. The bags are unloaded and stock taken of their inventory. Sshrrakaa reads off the belongings while Kheel runs down the list.

"Clothing?"

"Check."

"Toiletries?"

"Check."

"Spending funds?"

"Check."

"Encounter Suits?"

"Check. What did we bring these for, anyways?"

"Because whenever we go on vacation, something happens to turn it into work. Standard issue pulse-rifles, collapsed and disarmed?"

"Check. Do we need the weaponry?"

"See the previous statement. Your joke kits?"

"Check."

The area is softly lit, with the tables all low to the ground. Geisha in full ceremonial dress bringing the drinks of hot sake. No chairs are evident, but mats on the floor beg to be kneeled or hunkered down on. The smell of fresh synth-salmon wafts through the air as a small stream babbles away nearby in the establishment. Calming sounds of string instruments play in the background.

In a corner of the place sits the odd assortment of three beings, plus a small gecko-like creature sitting atop the shoulders of a Sakkran female. Over-sized porcelain shot glasses are raised, drained and refilled.

".....so we rigged up our suit's power packs to the battery container in the rifle, and VOILA! We got an informal explosive!"

"Heh, feedback loop, nice." Bondayehr drains another small bowl of sake and smiles broadly. "I turned out to be something of a bullet magnet but that actually turned out to be an advantage once. There was an enemy patrol under combat cond and thought it'd gotten me when all it'd done is got the brush around me. It did the stupid thing and moved on, and I snake-crawled after it..."

Kheel frames his face with his hands. "oooh, I bet they regretted their slackerdom then. Hee."

At another table not too far away, speaking quietly between themselves, sit two men. One Arabic in look, the other a hard-chiseled older man of non-descript lineage. "Oh, this is classic. Panty Raid!" the first says with a laugh, loud enough to be heard. The latter scowls and shakes his head, reaching for his pack of cigarettes, and lighting one up as per habit. "For chrissakes, Maz, shut it, will ya?"

"Ssh here knows what I can do with a knife. See, I've got this obsidian one from Survival In The Wilderness"--the captain taps a leather-bound handle sticking out of his boot--"drew that nice and silent-like and I know its balance like nothing else. Got within five meters, let the guy in back have it in the base of the neck. Then they..." Bondayehr arches an eyebrow and lowers his voice. "Am I the only one who heard 'panty raid?'"

Kheel's head perks up slightly, his keen sense of mischief kicking in. "Nooooo....I heard it as well." Sshrrakaa looks quizically at the pair. "What is a panty, and why would one raid it? Does it have strategic value?"

Bondayehr grins in a most impish fashion and winks at Kheel. "I'd say there's strategic value, wouldn't you?"

Kheel returns the wink. "I've boned up on Human traits and customs. Let's say these 'panties' have a deep psychological value. their possession could put one at quite an advantage."

Jas looks over sharply at the group, as does Mazar, though the younger man seems more amused than anything. "Whats it to y--" the older man starts to say, when he catches sight of Bondayehr. "Well well, if it isn't the White Knight, in the flesh. Good to see ya still up and kickin', boy."

Bondayehr looks over and sees Jas, face closed-lip grinning even broader--may just be a dirty merc but, hell, he's a trooper too. "Not like they haven't been trying. Close shaves are what I do. What's going on in your devious mind?"

Jas gives the young man a brief respectful nod - the risks after all, are understood. "Oh, a bit o' this, a bit o' that," he says dryly. "Thought sure I'd see you back on a bidding spree what with the recent interest in lingerie."

Mazar in the meantime, takes a moment to study the others in the group, eyeing them with a friendly yet measuring sort of manner, just listening for now.

The Wheeland avatar perks up. "His tiny voice chimes in. "Is this that homo-sapien insanity with the under-clothing that would send small nations into bankruptcy?"

"Naw, I learned my lesson there. That kinda shit's what got me into this mess in the first place." The captain half-smirks wryly, then looks up at the starship-gecko. "That it would."

Wheeland starts scratching notes into a small pad of paper. "note: Humans are insane about frilly clothing. Gotta remember that."

The older merc looks the group over thoughtfull, then grins, albeit close-lipped whether by intent, or a desire to keep his clove cigarette in place is anyones guess. "Good to hear, Cap'n. I take it y'all have at least heard of the latest rash of idiocy then? Maz here had the audacity to suggest we help run up the price if you can believe."

The younger man waves the accusation away, tipping back his sake. "Yes, yes, and before I could convince you, they ran it up themselves."

"I thought of that myself. Instead I sent the auctioneer... a token of my sentiments." Timofeyev winks, then looks back at Wheeland. "Not all of us. Just a few losers whose ability to fulfill the biological imperative is... lacking."

Jas nods at that, sending out a trail of smoke as he speaks. "Damn fools with too much time and money on their hands, sez I." He does however carefully watch reactions as he says this.

Kheel keeps one eye on the beings at the nearby table, while his other remains on the Captain. "That biological imperative seems to be the guiding force behind many laughs. I have had many a long night of chuckling looking at old ..... porn? Is that the right word?"

Mazar blinks at that admission, stifling a laugh. "I think I've heard it all now."

The Captain momentarily ignores the silly Sakkran as he carefully watches Jas in turn. "True, true. Far too much money and far too much time."

Sshrrakaa looks deep into her glass, as if trying to discern her future in it. "More like far too few synapses firing in sequence. My opinion."

Seeing the Cap'n is just as sharp as he remembers, Jas nods slowly, his smile growing slightly. "Would be a damn shame if it all went to waste, eh? A few folks might think twice about tossing around their cash so frivolously, one might think," he says, casting Sshrrakaa a wink, while clearly speaking to Bondayehr.

"A damn crying shame. I only hope they wouldn't take the lesson too hard, although... the poetic irony would be great."

Sshrrakaa levels one yellow-orange eye first at Jas, then at Bondayher while still keeping her snout in her glass. "I know that tone....."

Mazar looks over at Jas and arches a brow. The other man simply nods, while looking over the group, inhaling, then exhaling slowly without removing the cigarette from his lips. He gets up and walks over to their table, hunching down on his haunches to speak quietly. "I don't suppose bright young idealists such as yourselves would be up to a lil ... object lesson delivery?" he asks, glancing around the group.

Bondayehr half-smirk slyly, eyes slitting almost kzinly. "Weeeeell... I suppose it all depends on the result. Crying shame they're stolen goods with a legal owner."

"Stealin'?" Jas says, taking on an air of wounded pride. "Who said anything about stealin'? This here's a liberation movement, it is, and a much-needed assistance in tossing off the bonds of material greed. Call it ... 'intervention', if ya will." His smile grows rather sly as well.

Kheel gives the approximation of a grin, with his crest lowering slightly as his head leans forwards a bit. "Yes, it would be a lousy thing, that."

"Oh, you misread," Timofeyev replies with a sly grin, "I'm saying they're already stolen. As it is, there would be nothing wrong with... a 'liberation' in the course of making sure it gets back to the proper owners."

Sshrrakaa looks about at the assembled peoples, raising her nose out of her glass. "So, a bit of Robin Hood-winkery? Hmmm......"

Jas chuckles, nodding slowly as he lets out another slow breath, taking care to direct the smoke away from the others. "That's about the shape of it, missy," he says, then looks back to the Cap'n. "And you know, you're right! Why, those damnable wretches, making off with the goods like that an' being so crass as ta auction 'em off. Why, it's our moral duty to set this aright, neh?"

Mazar shakes his head and comes over to join the group, in time to hear the last. "And to make a tidy profit off it in the process, don't forget. Hey, gotta keep food on the table, no?"

Bondayehr decides to let his half-membership in SPIR slide unsaid or unsuggested at the moment. "Certainly. But... certainly, there has to be some percentage in it--and exactly." He nods to Mazar. "'Course, I'm sure the going rate can be lowered a bit, seeing how it is... a public service." Sly smile.

"I dunno, kid. Going rate's been pretty steep," Jas says casually. "But first things first - gotta have the goods in hand before we can start setting prices."

"Of course." Sshrrakaa looks at the Captain briefly, and then eye-balls Wheeland, blinking in a sequence signaling the avatar to shut off all environmental receptors.

"I must defer to your better judgement," the captain replies simply, "as I must admit you're more experienced in both those matters. Still, before we get 'the goods' we need to know how we wish to go about it... neh?"

"Now we're talkin'," says the man, actually looking enthusiastic about it all. "Now y'see, technically ..."

"Sweet Jesu, vK ..." Nathi shakes her head slowly as she looks around at the view from the lift, while Massetti lets out a low whistle. "You've never been one to do things by half, have you?"

"Damn, Nath," the man mutters, scanning the beaches in particular. "See what we've been missing out on? Reports didn't give this place credit by half."

"Shut it, Mas."

"Yes'm."

Upon reaching the hangars, and in turn, the rather breathtaking craft, Nathicana's breath catches. "Oooh..." His comments on the interior do not go unnoticed, and she arches a brow, looking at him sharply. "You didn't say who it was for, did you? Oh gods, I can only imagine what they've done if Zin turned them loose on this baby ..."

It would seem her worst fears are realized by the stunned expression on her face at the lavish interior of the Loki.

Not only are the floors in all the appropriate areas covered with either thick and rich or crisp utilitarian burgundy carpeting, but the interior has been made to feel more like the inside of a oppulent Devras villa than the ship it is. Entryways and halls were done reminiscent of smooth Roman arches, cream colored walls with faux finish to mask the nature of the craft were trimmed in thin mahogany veneer and polished brass, which made up the fixtures and knobs and such as well. The chairs, benches, seats are all upholstered in fine burgundy leather, all very much fixed to the floor, some with soft cream-colored accent pillows. Those comfortable one-seat varieties are adjustable for height and have the ability to turn in any direction needed, and remain locked in place there once adjusted - as only makes sense aboard ship.

In the suites and other rooms, dependant on the intended use, there are various decorations fixed firmly to the walls or ceilings, in some cases going so far as painted frescoes, replication of past masterworks, faux finishes, and other illlusionary creations developed by desingers over the years to achieve various artistic effects. An efficient kitchen/informal eating area with more than ample food storage space is situated towards the back adjacent to the bays - complete with an ice machine and chilled water dispenser for the Dread Lady's convenience.

The operational areas of the ship, that being the flight deck and such carried through the leather theme, but instead was done in matte black and gunmetal grey, all smooth and efficient in style and function, as it should be. Crew quarters were in keeping with the rest, all spacious and comfortable, more oppulently furnished than would ever be expected from any other Dominion military vessel.

Sante Maria madre del dio ...

After staring in stunned silence for a good long while, Nathicana finally turns to vonKarma and blinks, while Mas yammers on excitedly about this point or that, clearly thrilled at the whole business.

"Have you gone completely fucking insane, man?" the woman says incredulously.

"Hey, you know us Karmabaijani...We likes our toys and shineys."

After Nathi sees her Loki:

"Insane, no. Zin agreed to fund this little project on the basis that he could use it to kick-start sales of the new civilian-grade loki, and show what is possible to do with it. So you got to be the guineah pyg for his little experiment. By the way, your Selene will fit snugly in the flight bay, with room left over for a few fighter escorts if you want/need them. Now, enough talking, lets take this baby for a spin!"

A man siting at a table over turns toward Bondyaher and the Sakkrans. A network of scars run down his face, and dissappear under the high collar of his oriental cut shirt.

"I couldn't help overhearing you, and wish to offer my assistance. The name is Sagara Souske, KSPA. I've been her on convalescent leave after my...sortie...into Suunto during the whole Awakening Crisis." He runs a hand down one of the scars on his face. "Been looking for a little action to get back into, as I'm sure you can understand, damn nurses wouldn't let me keep my sidearm in the medbay.

"While that does make more sense," she begins, shaking her head again as if that might help her assimilate it all. "It is still insane. Just what I've come to expect from you Karmabaijani, truth be told." She gives vK a sly grin all the same, and nods, gesturing towards the cockpit. "I would love to see what this baby can do. Lead on, MacDuff."

Jas looks the other man over slowly, considering him thoughtfully with another gentle exhalation of clove-scented smoke before answering in a quiet sort of growl. "KSPA, is it? Looks like y'all got the short end o' that stick, boy." His eyes narrow as he continues to look him over. "Didn't me an' the crew an' that cleric haul your ass outta that mess on a slab? Lookin' a damn sight better than you were, I'll give you that ... but hell, boy. State Department, the United Republics of Tiburon

Messages from all around the world's diplomatic branches sent to the Tiburonese government first came here. Undoubtedly, the number of messages was massive... but if one required special attention, whether in a good or bad way, it was sent immediately to the head office. No questions asked. This was one such message.

<<OpenLink::TitanYutLink>>
||Valhalla Station Reopens||

This was amazing. Once again, fate had briefly shined on the United Republics... once again, just when Tiburon was ready to expand its diplomatic channels to reconstitute old alliances or nourish possible new ones, the recipient had announced to the world that they had begun a new step in diplomacy. A message was carefully typed in response:

To the nation of Karmabaijan,

Our nation has always taken a great interest in establishing diplomatic relations with any nation that is willing, believing such diplomacy as essential to the future prosperity of all nations in the universe. To that extent, we wish to set up an embassy to the nations of the ToY at large on board the Valhalla.

"Rrrrright then," Jas says, arching a brow at the zoned agent. "Tell you what, folks. Seems like the boy here could use a bit more R&R. What say we take these here discussions someplace a bit less noticeable, an' we'll firm up actions from there." The man stands, and stretches, grimmacing slightly at the cracks and pops, shifting his cigarette from one corner of his mouth to the other and exhaling slowly.

"The ready room?" Mazar asks, straightening his jacket with a light tug, one brow quirked up in question.

"Aye, the' ready room," Jas replies, walking over to his table to extinquish his smoke, then looking back to the Captain."Hear yer not half bad on the stick, cavallero. OCC: Would it be possible to trade with the station? Robotstani merchant vessels are always eager to find new markets, and ever since the Robotstani-Earth outpost was destroyed, a post on Valhalla Station could be very profitable.

Of course, I'm not sure what industry I'll have left once Auman finishes with me...

A post established on Valhalla Station would be very profitable. When would it be possible to send a delegation to the station?

Delivered to him via his Intelligence Directorate, Indigo read the report through the eight pages of mumbo-jumbo. Most of the pages were indeed contributed by a series of official motions, and only a portion was dedicated to actually providing information to whomever was reading it. In this case it was Indigo, as was most of the time when regarding special reports written by his Intelligence Offices down further into Anatoba City. Quite a simple meaning though this report held; it was the information Indigo had requested on the Yut alliance. It seemed that not that long ago, there was a station constructed and opened to governments across the spectrum, mostly to serve as a window for diplomacy between Yuttian and non-alliance members. Trade and cultural activity had also been approved for the station. But for now, this would open an opportunity which Indigo had been hoping for.

SUBJECT: An Offer you May be Interested in?
-----------------------------------------------------------

Greetings friends. I have been advised of the identity and location of your station not that long ago, and I thought it a prime opportunity for the both of us to set something up between. You may or may not have heard of the Union, but from what I have heard it seems as if the Trium holds much of what we also hold dear to our hearts. With common ideas, common direction, and common values, I thought it best for at least me if I make some kind of an attempt to understand the alliance myself. For who knows, something as small as the establishment of an embassy could lead to full-time cooporation between our entities. Anyhow if you would allow it, I would like to look into establishing a full-time diplomatic presense on the Station, as well as also maybe meeting with each of you in a joint conference. There, I would hope to establish an idea of what kind of people and government we are, so that we could work together on a much more efficient level. I am under the impression so far that such cooporation could be rather beneficial and productive for both the Austar Union and the Trium of Yut.

Anyhow, I wont flood your communicational links with pointless yandering, so I will leave it as is and wait on your reply, on what you think about my own considerations. Thankyou for your attention.

Yours In Excellence,

Indigo Blue

Thank you for your interest, Lord Indigo Blue. Station officials have accepted your request for diplomatic volume aboard the station; standard station procedures are attached below. Both the Triumvirate of Yut and the Federated Segments of Scolopendra are interested in closer relations with your nation; we believe there is much we could learn from mutual discourse. A joint conference such as the one you have suggested would be an excellent point to start a dialogue.

We look forward to getting to know you better.

Respectfully,

Sometime Later...
In Space Defined Close to Vahalla Station

Seated in the most luxurious part of the craft, Ambassador Nexus Adrian watched out the window as the great station came into view through the Starboard Ports. It was indeed a constructional feat to rekon with; there wasnt any known Austarian achievements on such a scale as this so great in space. On Earth perhaps, the greatest achievement would be the design of the infastructure of the homeworld, closely followed by the hugely defended island-port of Ravenspire in the north of Haven. The island if anything was a military facility rather than an island itself, and so defended it could be considered one of the most militarized zones of the entire Havenic region. Still, nothing could compare to such a monstrosity as this, his new home for the time being.

Yes, Indigo had chosen him Nexus specifically to represent the Austar Union in these matters, and for that he was honored. To be given such a high-profile responsibility was one to be admired and respected, and yet he was so thankful. Never once would he let the power of such representation go to his head, so that he might miscommunicate the true nature of Indigo here, since that was his real mission; to be on representation of Lord Indigo Blue, and the Absolutionist State. Still for now he could at least relax in such comfortable surroundings. It wasnt long now until he would be standing aboard the Valhalla Station alongside respected representatives of the Trium, and he could do with all the relaxaction he could get. And so could the pilots up ahead in the cockpit, for they would stay for a short time with him as assistants on the Station. Fortunatley for them, their own relaxation attempts would be helped along once they quickly programmed the Artificial Intelligence into effectivity. From there the computer would handle all communicational means between the ship and station, and would even guide the craft safely and gently into Port.

OOC: Dunno how you want to do this Scolo, so I suppose I will leave it up to you to have Nexus meet the appropriates. I give you permission to roleplay any small bits which come along, just to make the job easier on you. Cheers.
