OOC Note: Todeskopf and I have been working on this since around the time NS changed servers. We were in the middle of a war at that time and he has since retired from the game, I have taken over his nation OOC, however not IC. That means this is by both of us, I'm just responsible for posting it. My stating of his losses is with consent, so it's not god moding. When this story is over I may begin playing again, one year after the end of the war, please watch for my first new RP.

War between Haaregradia and Todeskopf has raged back and forth for more then three years now. Both sides have fought with a vicious desperation that is seen when two opposite ideologies clash. Todeskopf has for the most part kept the Haaregradians on the defensive, claiming huge chunks of territory from the south of Dill Row and Metropolis Industries. The Haaregradians however have seen some success in the North and at sea.
The Todeskopfians have proved themselves to be quite brutal to cities that do not surrender, the city of Kiev, after holding out for two years in a long and costly seige, was bombed and shelled with chemical weapons. Two weeks later Kiev was entered by the Todeskopfian forces. A city that was known as the Jewel of The South, for it's Art Deco and Modernist buildings, had been almost completely razed. Of a population of over twelve million, fewer then 50 000 survivors were found.
In retaliation the Haaregradians fired cruise missiles armed with various food pathogens at farms located west of Brandenberg, Todeskopf. Only a meeting between President Lenin and Kaiser Willheim got both sides to back down from raining disease and poison gas on each other. Although no papers were signed, the gentlemen's agreement between them stands today.
Todeskopf has seen most of her heavy bomber force, along with most of her navy destroyed. The only remaining capital ship is the RKV Baron Von Atfield, a pocket battleship used to assist frigates in protecting shipping against Haaregradian forces in the Northern Sea.
The Haaregradian spy service, the Bureau of National Security received information of a Todeskopfian plan to assault the city of Baku from the sea. The Haaregradians launched a surprise attack against the armada as it traveled up the Fiend River, trapping the Todeskopfian 4th Viking Division and a large number of Kriegmarine vessels. Hours later a masive airborne assault against the docks in the city of Fiend, assisted by the 3rd Legion's arrival twelve hours later proved pivotal and led to the capture of Fiend.
Überfieldmarshal Rommel was loathe to retreat from the northern regions of Haaregradia, known as Hoth. However with Fiend lost it was very difficult to get supplies to the frontlines. In January of 2016 the Todeskopf Second Army surrendered. This effectively gave the Haaregradians another Legion to use, it also rendered an invasion of Soviet Haaregrad much more difficult. The land to the south of the Fiend River was nearly impassible swamp and forest. The ground was a mixture of rocks and slimey mud, even tanks couldn't pass through this area. The Haaregradians, with Lake Baku under their control could shell the Todeskopfian forces, however, the Todeskopfians had large cannons of their own. The Todeskopfians also repeatedly used fighters to harass and even sink the Haaregradian ships, which reduced their usefulness greatly. Both sides dug in and, looking much like 100 years previous, trench warfare was grinding down both sides.
In Metropolis Industries the Todeskopf Eighth Army was having troubles keeping their supply lines open. Haaregradian and international partisans, the Red Army, attacked with increasing sophistication. The Red Army used mostly guerilla tactics however in recent months, having aquired more advanced equipment, the Red Army was begining to use more traditional tactics. The Red Army Air Corps had even contracted their own fighter design, a small delta winged fighter. This was used to replace a motley collection of retired A-4, F-5, F-20 and F/A-55 designs, most of which had been lost to attrition. The design had eventually been adopted by the Haaregradians themselves as the F-34 Mosquito fighter. (It had originally been nicknamed Mosquito by RAAC pilots due to it's small size and high agility.)
In March of 2017 Todeskopf sent the 11th Army north, their goal was to seize Trotskygrad, again supply lines have been a problem and the Todeskopfians advances, while not stopped, have been noticeably slowed. Rumours swirl around both sides of a massive Haaregradian offensive to force the Todeskopfians out of Metropolis Industries and Dill Row, however by October these rumours had faded somewhat.
For the most part both sides have seemed to taken a breather, with no major offensive actions having taken place in seven months. The air war however has continued and there isn't a city in Todeskopf that hasn't felt Haaregradian bombs falling on it yet.
December 28th, 2017 - Operation: Starlight
For several years Haaregradia had been developing in secret, a spacefighter. Originally it was developed to provide defense to Haaregradian ships travelling to Isis, however this was modified into a much simpler design, optimized for hitting satelites, giving the Haaregradians space domination. Today was the fruition of this project. In all twelve fighters were launched, however only three managed to land safely. Six spy satelites and multiple weapons guidance satelites were destroyed.
OOC: This won't disable Todeskopf as much as expected, due to their investment in recon aircraft and UAVs.
