TGC rally. Stake your territory claims!

Welcome and congratulations to all accepted TGC members and cadets.

Now, down to business. To conduct a good quality RP, maps and territory awareness are required. Therefore, all TGC nations must stake their (reasonable) territorial claims. This will be done here.

Also, I am looking for people who can make a NS map of the world and update it for new members.

This thread will also be used as an announcement area for new RPs and such. Hopefully, this alternate community will develope some international relations quickly.

Good RPing.

Gronde, first of all, as healthy as it is for my ego for you to be lavishing us with praise over gaining membership to this community, I would respect it if you avoided the all too overused "elite" status to describe us. Elitism has long been a scourge of NationStates (Marathon...shudder), and I've always tried to avoid it and remain humble. I know I am most certainly not elite, and I know I can improve much further beyond my current skills. There is, and will always be, better writers out there, they simply didn't choose to enter the community. Maybe you understand my reasons, maybe you don't. Either way, I always like my feelings to be known.

Now, as for territorial junk. As far as Earth goes (the original Earth, not Earth 2, 3, 4, or whatever they're up to now, that's a load of bull), I own the island of Hokkaido, and a couple of the tiny islands around it, including the Kuril Islands. It's the northernmost island of Japan, in case you want to find it on a map. It is always very cold, and is mostly mountainous, with very little living space. My nation has made up for this lack of space by turning every little patch of habitable earth into a towering cityscape.

Now, concerning space, Cyberutopia owns the (fictional, by the way) Aurora system. The Aurora system is run semi-autonomously by the Imperial Auroran Dragonate, which is much stricter and more controlling than it's earthbound counterpart. It is a binary system consisting of a blue dwarf and a yellow star, with three planets. Aurora Dœsolåta is a desert planet that is inhospitible except for the poles, where there are a few military bases but nothing else. The second planet is Aurora Prima, and is the only hospitable planet. It is composed of mostly water, dotted with archepeligoes of land. It harbors all of the system's population of approximately 900 million – some in either villages or small townships on the archepeligoes – mostly in huge floating cities.

And...that's it.

Well, the overriding problem will continue to be people vs territory, but if you want to attempt to do so, ok.

Vastiva is Antarctican, a very large chunk under South Africa, extending to the South Pole. We also hold a colony on the continent of Manium (see that RP for details).

Personally, I accept everyone exists, but my perception has always been Amberian in ideology (Everything exists somewhere, it's just a matter of getting all the reality bubbles to line up).

I meant elite, compared to most NS RPers.

And you consider your group to be elite just because they RP differently from everyone else? Hahaha.......don't mean to pour cold water on you Gronde, but i've known you since you staked your presence in the Arena threads, and for a March 2004 nation, you're one heckuva ambitious fellow.

Good luck then, if you really mean to pull this community idea off.

I too, have a bit of a problem with "elite" label, as I do not consider myself to be an RPer of that status. I joined up to learn, and RP with new faces in an alternate setting.

That being said, Gawdly is usually located in the Fijian Islands. We have great tans.

For the purposes of this gaming community, Chardonay will be located in the Bakans... which is odd, since we're the size of Russia in normal NS... but oh well.

Fine, fine, fine, FINE! Your not "elite" anymore. I even edited my opening post. Lol.

Gothic Underworld: I didn't say they were elite because they RP differently. I read the "whatever happened to tactics" thread, and designed criteria for grading RPing skill. The fact is, the members of the TGC are some of the best RPers on NS. BTW, did you even apply for the TGC or read any of the preliminary information?

Gawdly: What you said is the primary purpose of the TGC. Essentially, it removes the n00bs, numberwankers, and godmodders from the picture, allowing for quality RPs.

I have read the TGC signup thread, although i did not sign up myself since i'm primarily a character RPer. And what do you mean by "some of the best RPers on NS"? How do you know that for sure? There are so many categories of RPing that there isn't a "best" overall. For example, you may want to take a look at my recent RPing history after the Arena threads. You'll see i've been around illustrious names like Tarlachia, 5CN, Assington and such. I consider them to be the top ranks of character RPers. Does that mean they are the best overall? You might disagree, and there you have it.

Be careful how you use the word "best" or other variants of it, Gronde. You might earn enemies for it. I'm just advising you as a friend here.

How about a more or less fictional world?

For example, one that instead of having Earth's geography has something different..

Now listen, I will generalize if I want!! Lol. The TGC is open to all forms of RPs, it was just formed origanally to improve war RPs. It's just that, if I know someone is applying to take part in TGC war RPs, I want their submissions to be as such. I know many of our applicants are amoung the best. I'm sure that there are better RPers out there, but not many. You make it sound like I'm not allowing other, better RPers in, which is not the case. You, for an example, are a good RPer, most likely better than I. You would be welcome here.

Panzia: Perhaps, but I figured it would have be easier to relate to locations. If someone said: "My nation is located is Northern Siberia," you would know what they meant. Your idea would require someone to make and maintain a fictional world map and most of our members would need to agree.

Ah, i see, Gronde. Although i do not take back my words that you ARE an ambitious fellow, undertaking the huge project of setting up a whole new community when you're barely half a month old lol. And thank you for your offer, but i'm in other circles now, as you might have seen.

Good luck with this endeavour Gronde. I hope your venture will turn out better than my Arena venture.

Well, we don't really need a world of any sort, as this is not a tangible alliance with tangible assests. This stating of claims is just for organizational purposes, so that people in the community won't get mixed up while they're RPing, and it will make it more realistic if you realize your opponent is halfway around the world, rather than next door. Make sense? I'm not always the best at explaining things.
