Gamma Draconis Breached! (Space RP, Take II)

A pair of Valkyrie Interceptors flashed through space, moving almost to fast for the eye to see. Their guns flared, bursts of fire screaming through space towards their fleeing prey. Fleeing like a gazelles before the lions were a group of somewhat larger ships, obviously gunboats of some kind. The prey was fast and maneuverable, but there hasn't been a ship built which can outrun a Valkyrie.

Catching a glimpse out of a corner of the eye, the escaping ships suddenly veered toward a dark mass off to the side. They darted in and out of the massive cluster of twisted metal, the framework of an Orion class Destroyer currently under construction. Prey and predator popped in and out of holes which seemed like they shouldn't be big enough for ships half their size, metal scraping against metal as they passed through holes that were to small. Yet the distance never shrank, and the fleeing ships were almost at the end of the construction areas. There would then be a few precious seconds where they'd be free and the Valkyries would still be inside, giving them an opportunity to fly clear out of the system with their information. This was unacceptable.

Yet there wasn't much the Interceptor pilots could do, for their ships were still half a kilometer behind when the targets popped out of the labyrinth that would soon be a ship and headed for deep space. Of course, there's more than just two Valkyrie Interceptors in Gamma Draconis.

It slowly glided into view of the escaping ships, it's massive size giving an impression of slothful movement. Yet impressions are often incorrect, as this ship made quite clear. For, though it was massive, it moved at a speed that put ships half its size to shame.

The fleeing ships finally caught a glimpse of what they were running towards and visibly shuddered, their engines suddenly powering back the way they came and struggling to overcome their momentum. Unfortunately, their struggle was in vain.

With a Beam of Light brighter than the brightest of stars the massive ship snuffed out the fleeing vessels in a bare few seconds, leaving nothing but a few scattered atoms as evidence that they'd been there.

With that the New Dawn 03 turned and resumed its patrol, the area still glowing from it's Nexus Cannon that had just laid waste to the enemy.

OOC:

Okay, I need somebody to RP as the nation or group which sent the recently deceased vessels. You can be a spy ring which wanted to sell the info for money, another nation planning an attack, etc.

We'll start the RP where this post ended, meaning you're learning about the death of the ships, planning the next move, making the next move, peting a monkey, or something else along those lines.

Please TG me your request to be the enemy, I'll get back to you as soon as I can. But let me just make one thing clear: If you can't or won't spell, you will not be in this RP.

Darkness engulfed the room; only trace amounts of light that came from a holographic projection the centre of the room cut the empty void.

Marcus hated the light, he found it to represent things in this world that he hated; purity, and hope, things that general did not exist in the real world. He considered himself a realist, and long ago he saw the universe for what it actually was. A black empty void of greed, hatred and disparity, and like so many others before him, he was going to make his own fortune. Marcus Grohing considered himself an information broker, truth was he was nothing more then a thief and he knew. However, as they say information is power, and what Marcus did was steal information from one person, then sell it to another for a hefty fee.

One of his current projects had been to steal the designs for a new military ship that was being built, he was being paid a large sum of money to get this information. Originally it was thought to be a simple job, get in, get some photo, and then get out. However, as Marcus was now being told by one of his minions, thing were not as simple as he had hoped.

“So what happened?” asked Marcus impatiently

“Well sir, we don’t actually know. All contact with the Trasol’s group had been lost.” Answered the man in the holograph.

“What do you mean you don’t know!” shot Marcus a fit of anger. Marcus watched as the man in the holograph shifted about nervously “I don’t pay you for I DON’T KNOW’s, I pay you for information. Are you useless, you know what I do with things that are useless”

“No sir, no Sir?” the fear could be heard in the mans voice “We must have underestimated security around the ship yard.” Their was a pause as the man fought to catch his breath. “We may have to find another approach to obtaining this information”

Marcus found much satisfaction in watching the fear sweep over the helpless man “Very well let try and tackle this differently, do what you have to.” Marcus began to reach across his desk to cut the transmission, but stopped when his finger was inches away from the button “by the way you know what will happen if you fail me again” and with the he pushed the button ending the transmission.

Sitting back in his chair Marcus began running things through his head, for a moment he wondered if this was all worth the trouble. Quickly he pushed the thought out of his head, the money that he was going to get was more then worth the trouble.

As Karl made his way through the hallway he nervously glanced down at his security badge that clipped his overalls. William Sandelson was the name written on the badge, along with his picture.

Who comes up with these names, he thought to himself. With the loss of the recon group just a week earlier a change of tactic was in order. Now with lunch in one hand, and a tool kit in the other, Karl found himself trying to sneak aboard one of the ships construction crews. Hidden within a number of the tools that Karl with him was small imaging equipment, so small they were undetectable by the normal means, but could easily be detected with the right type of equipment, equipment Karl prayed they did not have.

As he got closer and closer the security checkpoint Karl could feel the sweet forming around him. He had gone to create lengths to obtain the proper documents to get aboard the shuttle, but no plan was foolproof. Thoughts of what would happen to him should he get caught filled his mind, but they were nothing compared to what would happen to him should he fail again. Taking a deep breath he collected his thoughts, he tried his best not to look out of place as he reached the security point.

In a calm smooth motion he handed his security documents to the waiting guard, and waited for what seemed an eternity for the guards responce

"Good afternoon Mr. Sandelson. Identification, please."

The various ID cards and pictures were run through th computers, along with the work orders and equipment requisitions.

"Now, step forward and breathe into the mouth piece, sir. We need to run an calc/ox check."

“Not a problem” said Karl with a bit smile of his face.

At the guards request He took a step forward, on the outside he appeared calm. However, on the inside he was a brew of emotions, panic, fear, and anxiety swelled in the pit of his stomach.

Now was the point of no return, to do otherwise meant certain death, closing his mouth around the mouthpiece he blew.

Slowly the air passed out his lungs and into the lifeless machine, and so it continue until there was nothing left. Stepping back he took a deep breath causing air to come streaming back in, stepping back he turned to the guard.

“How was that?”

"Fine, except for the fact that there's no such thing as a calc/ox check and you just blew onto a shoe horn."

The two guards raised their weapons and raised their voices.

"Please take a step back, place your equipment on the ground, and raise your hands. You will not receive a second warning."

An instant later a dozen more Dealers pour into the hallway, weapons at the ready and not in the mood for a daring escape attempt.

Karl slowly placed his tools on the floor. As he rose he placed his hands in the air a took a step back.

“What is this, pick on the new guy day” he glanced over his shoulder at the guards that were now filling the hallway. “I was just told to do what ever the guard told be to do by some of the guys. It’s one of those initiation things that we construction works have” he let out a bit of a nervous chuckle “I think that there has been some kind of misunderstanding here, that’s all.”

"No, you have just failed one of the most basic secuirty checks that we have. The first thing KSC employees are told when they're hired is exactly what is, and isn't done, during a standard clearance check. If you don't know, then you haven't been hired by the KSC. Rather straightforward, and the last construction worker who tried to 'initiate' a new employee was fired, sued, jailed, and executed. Have a nice nap."

A Dealer then approaches, a thin metal band held in his hand that he uses to prod the back of Sandelson's neck.

As Karl awoke he went to sit up, but a wave of nausea forced him lay back down. After a few minutes, and his stomach finally settled he sat back up.

However, when he realized where he was he wished that he hadn’t woken up.

-------------------------------------------------

With a giant thud the body hit the floor, and blood began oozing out of the hole in the centre of the mans head, and the room fell silent.

A ringing cell phone cut the silence like a knife. A man standing in the centre of the room reached into his pocket answering the call.

“Hello” asked the man

“Have you given the severance package to the employee’s” asked a voice on the other side of the line.

The man with the Cell looked around the room at the three bodies that were laying in various locations. Blood spatters cover the walls; it was a scene of utter horror. “After some negotiation we came to an agreement to proved beneficial to all parties” answered the man with the cell phone, his voice was cold and detached.

“Very good” quickly answered the voice “However, I have more work for to do. There are some of our contractors are not fulfilling their duties, and we are going to cancel the contract. I would like for you to offer them a similar severance package to the one you just delivered. I’ll send you the needed information.”

Glancing down at his watch the man waited for information to be downloaded. A series of pictures, and information appeared on a small view screen. “Information received”

The door to Karl's cell slowly opened. Well, it didn't so much open as simply vanish into thin air. The two guards outside the door took a step to the side, parting for the person approaching the cell. Into Karl's cell walked Karl (Yes, you read that correctly).

Karl walked over to Karl, sitting next to Karl on the bed.

"So, who hired you, why, and how much are they paying you?"

Sitting up, Karl arched his back stretching his muscles, then returned to a normal sitting position.

For a moment he sat there weighing his options, planning his next move. “Things seem so simple to you people doesn’t it” finally answered Karl, there was little emotion in his voice “ You capture someone, then you interrogate them, and then who knows where it goes. No mater what you do to me, they will do worse. My death is now certain, there is no denying that now, failure was not an option. However, I maybe able to save some more lives if I stay silent, how is that for an answer?”

Karl stood up, paced around the cell, and sat down next to Karl again.

"So, who hired you, why, and how much are they paying you?"

A man wearing a rather expensive suit quietly made his way through the hallway, before stopping in front of a door. Pausing the man took a moment to read the address

Unit 66. 15538-67 ST

Glancing down at his data pad the man made sure that he was indeed at the right place. With the confirmation he gave a hard knock on the door.

After a few moments of silence a quiet voice came from behind the door [i]“yes”.

“Is this the Riendale residence” said the man in the hallway loud enough so that he could heard on the other side of the door “I have a special Package for a Mr Riendale”

“Sorry, but this is the Croaton residence” quickly answered the voice of the other side of the door “you must have the wrong address.”

With lightening fast reflex’s the man in the hallway pulled out a gun from under his shirt. Without hesitation he fired a number of rounds into the door, the gun was silenced so made little noise. After a brief moment there was a thud as man who had been on the other side of the door lifeless body hit the ground. “Nope, no mistake, this was the right address” said the man in the hallway with a bit of a smile of his face.”

As if nothing had happened the man in the hallway turned and walked away, as he did he pulled out a cell phone “Package has been delivered.”

Karl began playing out his options, in the end he found that the only thing that he could do now was cooperate.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Commodore Ross stood aboard the bridge of the ASI Elysium, reading the reports from the dozens of ships on patrol throughout the System. He was also waiting, rather impatiently, for the interrogation of the prisoner to get them some information.

"Sir, we have some information from the prisoner."

"And that is......?"

"He claims to have been hired in Octabius, it's in the Incol system. We don't know much else about it."

"The Incol system? Where the hell is that?"

"Co-ordinates 3472 by 7329 by 83927."

"Well, doesn't that tell me so much."

"I'm sorry, sir, but we haven't had much contact with them."

"Yeah, I know that much. Dispatch a courier, find out whoever's in charge of Incol and open a communication channel. I want permission for a Dealer incursion within the hour."

"Yes, sir. Transport Omega is already on the way."

"Good. Now, find out what that guy was here to do."

Kart let his shoulders slouch a bit “I was hired to obtain the design for the Orion Class destroyer” His words were those of a defeated man.

----------------

Lieutenant Commander Frazio stretched his arms, the graveyard shift on board the Dark Sabre, was quiet to say the least. Basically it was his job to make sure that the ship did not deviate from it patrol route, if they did encounter anything that he was to call the captain, that was it.

“So does any one here have a deck of cards?” asked Frazio, in an attempt to end the boredom.

A brief chuckle came from one of the other bridge officers “You know sir, that playing games on the bridge is an extreme breach of protocol”

“I would tell if you don’t” quickly answered Frazio “benefits of ran…” a beeping noise coming from one of the consoles interrupted him.

For a brief moment silence came over the bridge as everyone jumped to their stations

“I’ve got a contact, sir” yelled someone

Frazio body went ridged with stress “Can we identify it, is it a Tappee Battle cruiser?”

A response came quick “No, we can’t identify sir”

Faced with a possible hostile situation Frazio mind began racing, try to come up with a possible. “Bring weapons system online”

“Delay that Order!” Barked a voice from somewhere else on the brider.

Without looking Frazio knew who it was. Quickly he got to his feet “Captain on the Bridge” called Frazio as the Entire Bridge crew jumped to attention.

“At ease” answered the Captain as the walked over taking his “No need to worry, we just received word that we are going to have some visitors, the Klonorians to be exact. Our orders are to provide them with an escort to the planet.”

"You were here to steal the plans for an Orion class Destroyer? Are you insane? Did you think you could possibly penetrate the security we have around those plans? Dear God, you must be an idiot. Tell me, how do you dress yourself in the morning?"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Elysium class Transport Omega popped out of Sub-Space at the boundry of the Incol system, immedietly re-orienting and heading towards the interior. As they approached the inhabited core of the system they began to scan for nearby ships.

"Sir, I have a ship on the scope. Registry is reading as the Dark Sabre. Previously unencountered."

"Open a channell, see if they can put us in touch with whoever is in charge around here."

"Channell open, sir."

“Do we know what they want?” asked an old man, the mans voice was old and frail. For over 70 years it had been the voice of Octabius’s emperor. But now in recent years that voice had been failing, with the events of the past few years the ministers had taken more control. As Result he was locked in a desperate power struggle to maintain to control, and the last thing he need was another reason for one of the minister to challenge his power.

With the arrival of the Klonorian ship ‘Omega’, it had given the minister the fuel that they needed to strip the Emperor of his last remaining power. However, even at the ripe age of 86 he was not going to go down with out a fight, he still had a few allies left.

“We do not know, at his time” calmly answered one of three men standing before the Emperor “All that I can tell you is the a short time ago we received a request by their government to enter our space. I’ve been told that one of their ship has already arrived and has been routed to the planet.”

Silence fell over the room as the Emperor took some time to form a plan.

A deep sigh cut into the silence “Very well, when they arrive at the planet send an Inquisitor to make contact, make sure that you send someone that we can trust.”

Dropping to one knee the three men bowed their heads in unison.

“It shall be done” proclaimed the man in the front.

Some time later, over the space around Octabius. The Dark Saber had finished escorting the Omega to the planet.

A small transport craft made its way from the planet below.

“This is transport shuttle RTY-345, we are carrying High Inquisitor Ranlok, request permission to dock.”

"So, what are we doing here?"

"Simple. Somebody in here is trying to steal the plans for the Orion. That is a very bad thing. We're here to make sure they don't get them."

"Oh.....right."

"Damn, man. How'd you ever get to be a Dealer? You've got the I.Q. of an eggplant."

After all he was a member of the higher echelon Octabius, as was expected to behave and speak a certain way.
