Imitora

The large convention hall was full to teh brim, packed in all ways. Reporters, buisness people, and everyday citizens saet in seats, over 10,000 in all. The building swarmed with ISS agents and gaurds, and police and military personal secured the building, making sure noone who wasn't supposed to get in got in. Amid the noise of the crowd, the sound of a door opening could be heard, and a rather attractive young lady, First Speaker Anna Frateli, approached a podium. The crowd quickly quieted, and the cammeras clicked away, with the video cammeras begening their live feed and braodcast.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I know that a turbulent time has just ended. I would like to ask for a moment of silence for all who died in the attack at Housdon International Airport, and our Marines fighting in Aubania." After the brief silence, she began. "Now are difficult times. Our security has been breached, and our limits tested. We have a brave leader in the hospital, and hundreds dead from riots and a terrorist attack. But now is the time where we must gather ourselves up, and reafirm our strength. Ladies and gentlemen, now is a time of change."
"Upon taking the office of First Speaker, I found that the system had been run through by the sword of corruption. Men and women in office who had no right, nor ability, to assist our leaders in their times of need. I can say now that the corrupt men and women have been removed from office, and new ones, capable ones, are now in place. For example, Maria Vercetti has replaced Ryan Cerstow as Minister of Internal Affairs. And the long running hold of power of the military has been transfered away from Fleet Admiral Tom Dodge, and Fleet Admiral Dean Winslow has taken his place. No longer will we live in the light of a government that looks only to further its own means, and do nothing for the people."
Cheers filled the hall, and after a few moments of shouts, claps, and whistles, Anna raised her hand, and the crowd quieted. "It is a time of change. No longer will the people need to worry about substandard healthcare, or an underfounded police force, or having their job taken by some government lackey. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, now is the time for us, for me, as your leader, to step back, and allow the people to make the choices. I have already presented three executive orders. Under these laws, no longer will hospitals be forced to offer care approved only by the government for cheapness. No, now, hospitals will decide on their own, as I have fully privatized healthcare. No longer will police only be able to use equipment that was designed by the lowest bidder for cheapness. I have privatized the police forces of Imitora, and no longer will they be paid less for more work. And I have finally, through the work of my predacesors, and help of my new cabinet, I have privatized social security. Now, no more of your paycheck will be taken from you. No. I trust the people of Imitora to make the right decisions, and I know it will make the nation strong."
After another period of shouts, applause, and general noise, she began to speak again. "For to long, the people have been watched, but to no effect. Under my leadership, I have already removed all landline phone taps, email, monitering systems, and military presence in public areas, save for times of emergency. I look forward to the extreme, to the time where subdermal microships do not allow the government to know your every move, but instead, only offer information to doctors and police rescue units. No longer will the government intrude on the people. No, the people will be free."
More applause followed. The idea of the INSA being more restricted was a new one to the people, and they liked it. "No longer will Imitora be a force of anger and violence. No, the nation will no longer be an entity of the better of two evils. Now we will be a new light, hope for the world. Our forces will only fight for liberty, not opression. Our men and women in Aubania are pulling back with the terror force eliminated. They are no longer in harms way, we have defeated the enemy, and will let the Aubania peoples be free. Under my ledership, the colonies will have more say, and the people more rights. I am moving to reopen relations with long lost allies, and looking to making new ones. Now, ladies and gentlemen, men and women of Imitora, peoples of this great nation, is a time of change!"
Amid more applause, Frateli bowed, and smiled. She turned, and flanked by ISS agents, left the building.
