The Gothic Underworld

IC: 2 of the limos, bearing Team Manea and Team Mercenary Soldiers from the Atros Hilton, wound their way through the the heart of the City of Darkness. It's now early morning, and as the Teams waited until they reached their destinations, they made their final preparations, unable to see where they are going from the heavily tinted windows. Suddenly, the limos stopped. Far sooner than they thought. As they disembarked, they realised where they were.
City Square. A great wide open space not unlike China's Tiananmen Square, with skyscrapers surrounding it. Situated right at the heart of the City, the Square is a favourite meeting place, as it is easy to find and hard to miss, and many events are organized there.
Now, it has been rigged with equipment for the fight that is about to happen, and screaming crowds were thronging the portable ring set up near the sculpture of Atros' historical heroes, the Hero Louis and Alia the Shield-maiden. This is the setting, for the first round of the Tournament, between Team Manea and Team MS.
IC: Finally the day had arrived, the first round of the tournament, and Neral, Sadi, and Zil were all prepared both mentally and physically for the demanding trials that were about to endure at the hands of team Mercenary Soldiers. Knowing that they were only humans, and therefore prone to all the weaknesses of the human race encouraged them all however. These foes would not be the all powerful and greatly feared Dark Fiends, the servants of the Darkness back in Manea. Nor would they be as deadly as the ten infamous and legendary Dark Furies, the right hand of the Daemon Lord back on Manea's lands.
Having faced these foes at different times in their lives, the three went in with a positive outlook on the tournament, but they knew that no foe should be underestimated. They only wondered which of them should face each individual member from the MS team. Deep discussion ensued about who was best suited to fight which type of warrior, and as the discussion continued, the limo suddenly stopped. At long last, they had arrived at the location of their first round match.
Getting out, they recognized it as the great City Square, an infamous location and a prime area for a tournament match. Thinking of the surrounding terrain of the city, Zil knew that the concrete covering the earth would only prove to strengthen her strongest attacks. That would suit well for her earthen based magicks. But what of the trees? Looking around she noted several stronger trees in the various areas of the Square, probably placed there for decoration. She immediately decided to get to know them a little better before the start of the match.
Sadi, on the other hand, was pleased at the ring itself. Being a portable ring, it limited the area for fighting, which Sadi would use to his advantage to make up for his limited speed. He would simply overwhelm his opponent by using the space to his advantage.
Neral thought quite the opposite however. Relying on speed and strength, she knew that the ring would prove to be a bit of a disadvantage, but with her newfound abilities compliments of the Nakayama, she could fight the best warriors from within the confines of a telephone booth. She would adapt and overcome, the way of the successful warrior.
Each thinking of the upcoming match and preparing in their own different ways, the three warriors from Manea stood towering above the others present as they awaited their first glimpse of their opponents from the nation of Mercenary Soldiers, determination visible on the faces of each...
OOC: Glad to see this finally started. Interesting choice of venue, I'll have to see how to adapt my fighting to the theater of combat.......
