Today a group of islands became one nation with the signing of a new constitution. Four islands in the north pacific have formally entered into a new government, proclaiming the founding of the Republic of Federated Provinces. The combined population of approx. five million spent the day celebrating their new unity. Respected politician Peter Covington has been chosen by the new congress to serve as the first Prime Minister of the republic. He will serve a 5-year term before the first national election will take place. The republic welcomes diplomatic relationships with other nations.
