WRC Held in Tiborita
The event is new to the World Rally Championship, but it has been successfully observed by the FIA for the past two years. The Tiboritian Rally Championship has been active for years, and now, Ogdenville Tiborita has been chosen to host a WRC event.

Spectators’ view
Rally Tiborita is a spectators’ paradise. The scenery is breathtaking, with rolling hills and fog-shrouded mountains making for one of the most spectacular visual feasts of the season.

The stages are flat-out and challenging, but feature rough conditions as well as the smooth mud and gravel that demand a lot of both the cars and the drivers. Flat-out sections are followed by twisty segments that call for bravery and technique in equal measure.

After a trip to the Hillsdale rallycross-style track on the outskirts of Ogdanville for the Thursday evening superspecial, start your Friday with a trip to Wellsboro (run as SS5 in the morning and SS8 in the afternoon) for the classic Tiboritian combination of deep water and mud splashes. Alternatively, aim for the series of jumps at the end, which are surrounded by fields.

On the Saturday, head south of Mallis to Lamini-Gauss (run as SS13 in the morning and SS16 later). It boasts a river crossing about 500m from the start, with a nasty lip on the exit which can catch the unwary.

On Sunday, one of the most crucial stages of the rally is Ferris-Richmond. It’s a downhill stage with a bit of everything – rough roads, ruts, mud and rocks, with a surface that changes dramatically as the cars come through – all of which conspires to rip wheels off cars at a crucial point in the rally weekend.

Expert’s view
"Tiborita is a very tricky rally. The terrain is quite soft and sandy and can be dusty. Large rocks that often line the stages make the event very unforgiving - even small mistakes here can spell retirement. Worse still is that sometimes the rocks get dragged into the centre of the road by the cars ahead and drivers can be confronted by obstacles not present on the recce."
