What's your best ship? (OOC) (Pic Warning)

In your entire military, whether you be Modern, Future, Past, or Fantasy, what do you think is your best ship? Not your favorite, but your best (the two are not mutually exclusive). Why is it your best? Is it the fastest? The most heavily armed? The toughest shields? The most maneuverable? Or something else?

This is not a competition. This will not be deciding which ship is the best in all of NS. This is just me being curious and thinking that, if this is done properly, there would be an easily accessible list of other nations vessels (All OOC, of course). So, what's yours?

Mine is a new ship, the Constantine class Juggernaught. So far only one of this class has been built, and that is the Constantine itself.

I think it is the best of my ships because it is a Fleet in and of itself. Built in conjunction with Vernii it has more firepower, fighter capacity, and technological advancement/variety than any other Klonor ship (past or present). Plus, it has a pretty picture.

Don't even bother asking me to dig through my 1,000 posts to find the Colony ship stats. Those were lost when I went inactive (DEAT!). And there's no way in hell something that old would be transferred to the new forums.

All you need to know is that it's around 400Km long, however the hell wide and holds close to 4-5 million citizens. It is fully self-sufficient and has an entire spacefleet dedicated to it's defense.
Xanthal

Xanthal's best ship in terms of overall combat power is the Excursion class. Designed for extragalactic missions of exploration, it was also equipped to defend itself against almost any threat. It is Xanthal's largest ship, and there is only one currently in service. The Excursion class only lays over within Xanthalian borders for a few months every 10-30 years, however; so the chances of you ever seeing, much less battling, this ship are very low.

Excursion class (ultra-heavy general purpose): $15,000,000,000,000
The Excursion class is a ship primarily designed for long-term, long-range exploratory missions with little or no outside support. It has exceptionally strong defensive ability and carries all manner of crew and systems aboard, enabling it to deal with anything it encounters along its way. It carries sixteen smaller starships internally, along with shuttles and slipfighters.

Being an Ork nation, none of my ships are on quite the same level as those from more "civilized" countries. All are crude, ugly, and prone to catastrophic system failure, though their incredibly heavy firepower and simple construction (allowing large numbers of them) make up for this short-coming. I currently have three types of ships in my navy, not counting the battleships built by Skeelzania for use against the UFP. The best of these, IMO, is the Marauder class "dessie", the Ork version of a destroyer or cruiser. The following is an excerpt from the Greenskinz factbook.

Ork Dessies
These ships are the little brother to the Kroozers, and form the bulk of Ork fleets thusfar. Numbering between 500 and 700 meters, they carry a surprisingly large turret armament as well as heavy prow guns. They seem to lack any real maneuverability, making the favored Ork tactic of “rush-and-shoot” less of an option and more of a necessity. Nevertheless, the huge railguns mounted forward can seriously damage one of our capital ships. There are at least two distinct classes of dessies, though refits and hybrids are common...

...

The second, and by far more numerous class has been dubbed the "Marauder". These ships are slightly faster than the Reavers, and carry heavier armaments. These are the bread-and-butter ships of Orkish fleets, and are most frequently encountered. Unlike other classes, Marauders are known to mount their guns in huge broadsides, thus making them considerably harder to outflank (something other Ork ships are rather vulnerable to).

Although every Ork captain relishes the opportunity to ram an opponent, Marauder captains seem to take it to an extreme. An incredibly dense ram mounted on the bow is a common feature of this class, and some have been known to have special boarding hatches built in.

Typical Marauder Statistics:

Role: Destroyer/Battlewagon
Length: 500-650 meters
Beam: 150-200 meters
Draft: 100-300 meters
Propulsion: 3-4 fusion drives
Powerplant: Unknown, most likely fission.
Armament: Heavy railgun x5-7; railgun/plasma turret x10-20
Armor: Typically 10 meters of composite or steel armor
Crew: 600-900
Shielding: None apparent
FTL: Tachyon Drive

Marauder class Image One (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v87/Bad_Skeelz/Marauder1.jpg)
Marauder class Image Two (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v87/Bad_Skeelz/Marauder2.jpg)

Greenskinz Factbook in full. (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=353395)

I chose this ship because its the best all-around performer so far. The Kroozers, while mounting several times the firepower, are to slow and bulky to survive a protracted, mobile fight. Marauders (and their sister class, Reavers) are cheaper to build and more effective overall.
I will post Skeelzania's best ship in a few minutes.
Wazzu
04-09-2004, 01:03
Ahh, best ship...I guess that would have to be the ship that made Wazzu. The ship that, through many incarnations, not only brought Wazzu into interplanetary (and later, even interstellar) trade, but helped shape Wazzu space defense posture over many centuries...

...the Alpha-2 class freighter. (http://members.cox.net/sincityraiders/images/Alpha2.jpg)

Small by todays standards (and only medium sized by standards centuries ago), the Alpha-2 is a nearly no-frills freighter that grabbed a niche in the IP market and has been holding it ever sense.

The Alpha 2 does not have shields, weapons (beyond a communications laser), FTL drive or communications, gravitic drive, or even internal gravity. It is made mostly of the simple, lightweight "carbon nanotube" material (otherwise known as cardboard) that armors most foreign starships then and now, making it quite inexpensive for Wazzu to construct.

In fact, in all of its systems, it has only one ability that seperates it from every other freighter galaxy wide...it seems to break the conservation of energy.

The little freighter can maintain a 1 gravity thrust fully loaded all the way from Earth to Saturn with relative ease, yet its fuel tanks (which store only hydrogen for a simple fusion reactor) are very small, no where near the size needed for such a trip. Yet the ship type has been doing it for centuries.

Of course, the Wazzu government, TransCorp (the maker of the ship), and Hermes Spacelines (the only user) have been very quiet as to the nature of this mystical ability, and are willing only to assure that the ship doesn't really violate any postulate of modern physics.

Regardless of the nature of the device that makes the little ship "can", its effect has been the capture of the low-cost interplanetary trade market.

At least the capture of low-transport-cost goods that don't need to be moved quickly. At 1 gravity of acceleration and deceleration, it can take 12-14 days for the Yut-Earth trade 'route.'

But thats OK, because many products don't need to race across the solar expanse at high prices. Thus even today, with larger ships comming about, Hermes Spacelines operated Alpha-2's can still be seen plying the solar system in convoys of several dozen protected by Wazzu warships.

Rather unspectacular, eh? But still the most noteworthy ship type from Wazzu to date.

Skeelzania
04-09-2004, 01:18
Alright, now for the Skeelzanian ship. It wasn't a hard choice really, as most of my ships are obsolete battlewagons who don't deviate from the "point as many guns at the enemy as physically possibile" strategem very much.

Right now the backbone of the SKZ Fleet is the Nidhogg battlecruisers. These are large ships, as SKZ ships tend to be, and mount banks of plasma cannons along their sides. Each broadside also mounts a quad ion turret, and two tri-railgun turrets are mounted along the dorsal side. Torpedo tubes are located on all sides, though the vast majority are in the customary prow area.

Nidhogg strategy can generally be classified in two ways: one is to form a line of battle, holding position and forcing the enemy to close. This uses the battlecruiser's broadsides to good effect, though it does produce a larger target profile. The second method is to charge directly into the enemy fleet, firing both broadsides simultaneously. The fleet will then (usually) loop around and hit the enemy again. If the enemy isn't completely destroyed in the first two passes, a general melee usually developes where the Skeelzanian ships attempt to come along side and blast the enemy at close range.

Abargrapt
04-09-2004, 01:54
The Abargraptine People's Republic is bound over by fanatical public adoration and personification of its two Abargrapt Class battleships to count these ships its finest. It is quietly felt by some in government and Admiralty that the Dragoman Class light cruisers are in fact more practical and relevant to the Republic's situation, but then it wasn't a Dragoman that sank the Federal Ship Chelonia in Abargrapt's first act of martial satisfaction against its old oppressor. That honour fell instead to Captain Grace Griffiths' Abargraptine Ship Kindsley, second of the Abargrapt Class. It is this ship that Abargrapt has chosen to represent as its best, with design points of pride being the exceptional weight of armour and the carriage of the largest gun battery ever constructed on The Continent.

Horsepower: 9,800
Range: 4,850 nautical miles at 9 knots; 2,000 nautical miles at 16 knots
Speed: 16.2 knots design; 17.1 knots trial (achieved by AS Abargrapt)
Armour-
Steel;
Belt: 3.7” to 8”
Deck: 2” to 2.9”
Conning Tower: 4.2” to 10”
Barbettes: 8.5” (primary battery), 6.9” (secondary batteries)
Primary (11”) Turret: 2.9” roof, 7” sides, 10.5” face
Secondary (8.1”) Turrets: 2” roof, 4.4” sides, 6.2” face
Armament-
Primary: 2x11”/32 calibre Odsen Steelworks guns in single battery fore
Heavy Secondary: 4x8.1”/36 calibre Caligo Foundry guns in two batteries aft
Light Secondary: 8x3.2”/43 Caligo single-mount guns along broadsides;
6x.42” Rumm Hand-Cranked Six-Barrel Rack Anti-Boarding Repeater Guns on superstructure.

The Kindsley is named for one-time Waylu Federal Senator, Peripheral Rebel and founder of the First Abargraptine Republic. The ship's first action was against the Federal ironcoat warship Chelonia, which was dispatched without damage or casualties aboard Kindsley. Since then, she (Kindsley) has served as a commerce raider and engaged in several coastal bombardments against New Eastgate Federal interests.
Callisdrun

It depends on what you mean by best. One of our most useful ships is the Valkyrie/Ithtyr class battle cruiser. Here's a crude line drawing of it:
http://www.criesofthecarrots.com/battleship.jpg

It is armed with fifteen 14" guns and an assortment of other weapon, it's "official" speed is 35 knots and due to its incredibly technologically advanced engine, it has very good endurance. I don't know if it is the "best" ship though, it's perfect for making hit and run strikes and destroying smaller cruisers, but I wouldn't want to be on board if it had to face a battleship, as the armor is somewhat lacking. It is not used to fight battleships for that very reason. It is over 950 feet long, yet very narrow at 109 feet wide.

The other contender would be the Callismark class Battleship, built at the same time as the Valkyrie/Ithtyr class battle cruisers. Its main armament is twelve 16" guns, and of course it also carries a variety of smaller weapons for dealing with troublesome missiles, aircraft, etc. It is extremely well armored, but doesn't have nearly the speed that Callisdrunian battle cruisers possess, its top speed being 27 knots. It is aproximately the same dimensions as the Valkyrie/Ithtyr class, very slightly wider and significantly deeper in draft.

A new carrier class is planned, it is to be of similar size to the aforementioned classes, basically a much updated version of Callisdrun's venerable old carrier Yggdrasil, slightly bigger and more advanced. Yggdrasil, despite being very old, has been modernized several times, so is on par with most modern carriers.

Attempting under PM John Bull to restore Britannia's post as Queen of the High Seas, the Royal Navy is currently undertaking a massive project that may yield four fleet carriers within a decade. Construction of the first vessel, HMS Queen Elizabeth has begun in Scotland.

Queen Elizabeth III Class Aircraft Carriers
64,000 tonnes maximum displacement; 292 metres over all length
27 knots maximum speed
10,000 nautical mile endurance at 15 knots
1,200 typical crew including 600 aircrew; may include 800 Royal Marines
Protected by side armour and armoured bulkheads restored to the design by Bull’s BID government.
Radar boasts detection and tracking range of 400km
4xEvolved Goalkeeper CIWS, 2x16-cell Aster SAM systems
Typically 4xMerlin MASC (maritime surveillance and control aircraft), 6xMerlin HM Mk.1, 2xMerlin HC.3, 36xSea Harrier 3; alternative includes Gazelle, Lynx, Apache, UAVs.
Hulls Ordered- 2/4?
HMS- Queen Elizabeth, Prince of Wales (Glorious, Courageous?)

QEIII Class Thales UK design Batch 1 configuration (http://www.royal-navy.mod.uk/data/%5B(1134)-04-12-2003%5Dnew%20cvf.jpg)

QEIII Class is powered by an integrated full electric propulsion (IFEP) system with Rolls Royce gas turbines driving electric induction motors turning three shafts, giving 121,000shp. The BID government briefly entertained the idea of nuclear propulsion, but in light of other cost-intensive systems resurrection such as CIWS and armouring this was considered too expensive. The use of electric drive provides QEIII with greater survivability and reduces maintenance costs inherent to steam-based systems. There are problems with the system, however, as the abandonment of steam propulsion makes generating sufficient steam to power conventional aircraft catapults difficult and impractical. This means that the RN shall have to make do with STOVL aircraft such as Sea Harrier (since the UK’s withdrawal from the JSF project), or else develop a new means of catapult propulsion, perhaps using fluid or electromagnetic propulsion. It appears that the first ship (Queen Elizabeth) at least shall be fitted with a ramp and given Sea Harriers (and helicopters). It remains possible that the second ship (Prince of Wales) may yet be fitted with a flat deck, new catapults, and given a yet unknown CTOL air wing (plus helicopters).

It appears that there shall be two major contractors, BAe Systems and Thales UK, each responsible for a slightly different design with similar basic specifications. Most likely there shall be two of each design, with the first ship, Queen Elizabeth, being of the Thales design and configured for STOVL operation. The government and MoD are currently debating the future of maritime aviation, attempting to decide upon the replacement for Sea Harrier. It may be that a Super Harrier shall be developed, with the alternative being a Sea Typhoon.

Nirvana-Class Interstellar Warp Cruiser
The Nirvana is an exploration type vessel, designed primarily for nonmilitary scientific and government purposes. The Nirvana is among the largest ship classes, rivaled only by carriers and military cruisers. Being an exploration vessel, Nirvana-Class ships often travel far from home, alone or in small groups with other warp cruisers. As such, this class is armed to the teeth, so that it can defend itself without fleet backup. Nirvanas are often occasionally used in military engagements as command ships or to ferry important individuals.

The most advanced spacecraft available to the Federated Concordat today is the Alexandria-class colony ship. It is the latest in the Modular Space Transportation System and has four main sections. Starting from the aft, the nuclear thermal engine module --> three cargo and fuel modules --> three rotating habitation modules --> the shuttle and repair bay --> the control deck.

The habitation modules are the most technically complex sections of the colony ships. Normally, they maintain sufficient rotation to simulate seventy-five percent of Earth gravity in the four pods on each ring. However, the pods themselves can rotate to be parallel to the ship's axis during acceleration to minimize deleterious effects on the inhabitants.

The nuclear thermal engine module contains four "light bulb"-style nuclear thermal rockets that provide propulsion by shunting hydrogen fuel past a fused silica bulb containing a uranium plasma generated by a fission reactor. The ionized hydrogen is directed out the back to provide thrust by magnetic solenoid nozzles. Four heat sinks extending aft provide necessary cooling and pick up free electrons from the exhaust plume to recharge the spacecraft's batteries.

The shuttle bay and control deck are non-rotating and are typically off-limits except to licensed and trained personnel.

The Durandal Class Star Cruiser

A 4000m class heavy armor cruiser (designs originally) owned by the Kukai Foundation (until Foundation was incorporated into the UMN).

It is designed to dock with the Foundation's headquarters (now designated Second Miltia), a free orbiting colony (many other colonies of same design are owned and operated by the UMN). Once docked, it functions as the colony's main propulsion system.

Of the joint designs, the ship I think is the best is the Tiger-class railgun-armed gunboat. It has a great protection scheme and it is a lower-cost alternative to purchasing a Doujin.

Of the ships I've designed myself, the one I think is the best is the Alliance-class supercruiser. It is well-protected and well-armed and it can easily stand up to the cruisers of today, as well as avoid the larger ships.

Yes, more does need to be said.

This isn't just a picture thread. Describe your ship.

Dont wanna :P

Seriously?

Okay, well, here are the stats from the Mk 1 version.

Does this mean you cannot take pictures from online games etc? I would like to create my own ship picture, but I don't know how to (and propably wont have the good software here - I do have a program that allows me to create stuff like guns for simple games (in 3D i believe) but I have never really used it.)

I have currently 7 of these simple ships, Eataine is not far into space-traveling but is making quick improvements.

The Fox (http://img.ferion.com/images/ships/settler.jpg)
Purpose: Scientific Research, Exploring, transportation
Lenght: 124 metres
Width: 33 metres
Engines: 2, driven on Nuclear power (generated in small reactor in-between the engines)
Max Speed: warp 3
Shields: 2' thick compressed metal to somewhat reduce impact damage from physical attacks
Weapons: 2x 6' long Unguided Nuclear Warhead
Weight: 10 tons
Crew: 5-10 people

P.S. This is my first (serious) attempt on making my ship, plz don't laugh, I would appreciate any advice you will give me!!!

OOC: 10 tons is increadibly light for something that size. I suggest you look up the mass/displacement of real-life naval ships of the same size.

And 5-10 people for a ship that big seems kinda small...but then I guess it could have high automation, and a first ship might be filled mostly with various systems (engines, computers, fuel, etc. etc. etc.).

Otherwise, it looks very good for a first ship type.

My favourite would be the Horizon class, but my best...
Starship: It'd have to be the Wrath of Achilles class:
Deep Stand-Off Attack Ship (DSA) II

Wrath of Achilles Class

Platform Overview:
Designed as a next generation successor to the versatile and venerable Righteous Fist of Heaven platform, the Wrath of Achilles is the newest and most advanced ship class in the Ineffable fleet. Incorporating many hard-learned lessons from the Martian activities and the latest in Ineffable technology, the Wrath of Achilles is the most lethal starship-killer ever built. Designed to operate with a minimum of crew and without fleet support behind enemy lines for extended periods of time, the new DSA forgoes such standard shipboard features as small craft, a Lancer contingent, and research capabilities in favor of missiles, missiles, and more missiles. The Wrath of Achilles is the most heavily armed starship launched by the Ineffable Empire, and her arsenal includes the latest in extreme-range kill vehicles as well as the usual suite of offensive and defensive missiles, AP guns, and PDLs. Additionally, the new DSA's distinctive, knife-like profile gives her a tiny sensor cross-section, making her nearly impossible for foes to detect. And any enemy who does manage to engage her will find that reactive shielding and cold plasma armor make the Wrath of Achilles exceptionally resilient and damage-resistant, while her lack of entry points (access to the ship is through a single, heavily fortified airlock) leaves the ship nearly invulnerable to boarding raids.

The Brabazon Class Olympiad Warship was designed and built in a time when humanity had all but given up the hangings of war, After many years of trying to destroy himself, man finally settled into what was known as The Enlightened Age, when conflicts were scarce, poverty and crime were all but eliminated, and the first step to the stars had been taken with the Null Space drive.
Amongst the peace loving races of man, one individual looked on and shuddered, to his mind, the peace, the calmness, all smelt of stagnation, man was regressing and losing what had made him strong, his will to survive and better himself over others. This man, Howard Jameson, an incredibly rich and strangely religious man, decided that his species needed a wake up call, and set up a long term plan, a perceived threat from elsewhere, a lost human colony, would strike at the heart of man, destroying several cities on earth before ships of his making would lash out and neutralize the made up threat. To Jameson’s mind, this would re invigorate man and bring him to his senses.
All was well with the plan, his miners in the asteroid fields had located several asteroids that would make likely missiles, and his scouts had found an uninhabited life-bearing world far enough away to be a likely location for the threatening colony.
The one problem he had was the building of the war ships that would hit the colony, building warships would attract a lot of attention. So Jameson set about building two of the most luxurious and advanced passenger space liners in existence, these two mammoth vessels were bigger than anything constructed before, their progress was eagerly watched by the billions of human souls who looked forward to this next step in galactic culture, little realising, that behind the façade of these two sleek beautiful ships beat the heart of killers, passenger spaces were filled with armour, shield mechanisms and weapons that man would have hardly even dared to think of…
Close to the completion of these wolves in sheeps clothing, something unexpected happened, several of the outer colonies fell silent, the Reth-Ur had chosen this moment to make themselves felt on the helpless worlds of man. This vicious race, who’s culture was based off of domination and warfare found it easy going slicing their merciless way through the outer colonies, and before long their shadow fell over the motherworld, Earth herself. As the alien fleet of planetary bombardment cruisers manoeuvred into position, they received a single transmission,
“Yea, though I walk through the valley Of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me,”
The Reth-Ur Duke Commanders slight confusion at this message turned to horror as several massive asteroids, each fitted with a nuclear drive came skipping around the Earths upper atmosphere, ploughing through the massed ships, sowing discord and confusion. The alien fleet, now in disarray failed to notice two massive dark shapes converging on their position, many did not notice anything after that as hellfire, in the shape of charged anti matter erupted amongst them. Babylonia and her sister ship Bathsheba then proceeded to systematically wipe out each ship one by one, not giving quarter, not sparing any, no transmissions, silent as their fiery lances of death reached out time and again, extinguishing anything the Reth-Ur could throw against them.
The Battle for Earth Space lasted for a brief few minutes, but its repercussions would be felt for eternity, it was remembered by all, that moment when they looked fearfully up to the night sky and saw the two bright flares of the Brabazon Ships’ Fusion drives and knew, there was hope.
The battle for Earth was not the last fight against the Reth-Ur, the two Brabazons fought many battles, before the sleeping tiger that was man’s aggression woke from its long sleep, but their part in history will never be forgotten. *
The above picture is the last time the two mighty ships were seen together, as they race, engines on full burn to the Alduvian Nebula Breach, a place where a nearby singularity permitted the Alien Menace to bypass all guarded points of entry into our own system, here at the fateful battle Bathsheba took a fatal irradiator hit that devoided her of human life, knowing of her danger to man, the ships AI pointed her nose to the stars and disappeared into their wide embrace.

[OOC: Well, my most powerful warship is the Syrne-class DSA-II, a four klick long spaceborne but atmosphere-capable dreadnought designed to strike from such a distance at such a speed that the enemy doesn't have a chance to strike back.

She's also equipped for close combat (inside one tenth of a light second is considered 'close combat'), although she loses a great deal of effectiveness close up.

She is equipped with direct-fire kinetic kill missile tubes (Remote Guided System tubes, RGS for short), which fire remote-guided self-guiding missiles which are accelerated to 0.004c (relative to their point of origin) upon ejection from the tube and are capable of accelerating up to a relative velocity of 0.007c before passing the PoNR (the last point at which maneuvering thrust is still possible with the remaining available energy) for long-range engagements. She carries more missile tubes than any preceding ICEL warship - some 120 tubes in all, all of which are forward facing (except in the Syrne-X alternate build, wherein half of the tubes are rear-facing), but the missiles themselves are all-aspect weapons, so they do not need to be fired directly at the target.

She utilizes the usual EF-beam anti-missile defence grid seen on most ICEL ships and heavy assets, but she also carries two forward-facing E-cannons, plus six other E-cannons scattered across her hull, for close-combat scenarios.

She has no armour designed to fend off physical assault, as she is instead designed to ensure maximum radiation shielding and maximum mass maneuverability as compared to vessels her own size. She achieves this with miles of superconductive circuitry and coils specially designed to 'soak up' incoming radiation. This superconductive circuitry also serves as the conduit for the MI core to interact with the outside world; hull thickness is limited by the propulsion system utilized on ICEL warships (excepting the Tyelca Tuo class pocket cruisers).

As such, she is primarily designed to deliver a decisive victorious blow at the first strike. There can be no responding strike from enemy particulate weapons - against which she has no defence. This means that DSA-II dreadnoughts are almost never sighted alone, but always with a carrier or a pair of C/CM (counter/countermeasure) frigates - more likely in a combat situation, however, they would be seen at the rear of a fleet, providing high-intensity supporting fire.

The Syrne (which means 'Eagle' in Nenyan) class is capable of delivering 120 missiles per second to a target, or 7,200 missiles per minute; she can succesfully fend off some 1,400 missiles per second with her PD grid, but this cuts her offensive capacity down to almost zero, adding weight to the belief in the CSF that a DSA-II must engage first and hardest to be effective in combat.]

After over a thousand years of ship-based technological stagnation, the Technology Directorate decided enough was enough. Obtaining funds collected over five hundred years of pacifism and peace, the greatest engineers and scientists in The Empire began to draw up plans for the next-generation Mindsettian Navy. After fifteen long years, all plans were finally complete. None were more complex, or large and expensive as the Mindsettian Heavy Battleship class.

- Includes an enourmous fighter factory inside the lower section of the hull.
- Asteroids are pulled inside one of the three enourmous cargo bays, and strip mined, to produce new fighters.
- At its peak, it can manufacture 200 new fighters per hour, taking approximately 30 hours to max out the fighter complement.
- After battle, the fighters are dismantled and stored as component parts.
- Maximum fighter complement: 45,000
- Initial fighter complement: 2,500
- Fighters are automated via AIs
Armament:
- 30 60mm Plasma Cannons (medium-far range ship-to-ship combat, 1.2TW, 1.3 billion kelvin)
- 20 8mm Kinetic Harpoon Launchers (planetary bombardment weapon, 0.8cm^2 pellets of neutronium, radiationless explosions of immense scale)
- 60 30mm Ion Cannons (close range ship-to-ship combat, 250GW)

Power Source:
- 10,000 Parallel linked nilling d-sinks (7 Exawatts total)
- 6 Singularity Generators with variable matter input flow (120 Terawatts each, 720 Terawatts total)

Additional Notes:
- Hull is strengthened by Mindsettian molecular binding generators located near the rear of the ship. *
- Though the ship is equipped with inertial dampeners to help it move, the ship is not designed to make major changes in direction under stl drive. To change direction, the ship makes a small wormhole jump, with the event horizon at the other end facing the direction it wishes to travel.
- Hull is coated in a thin layer of "exotic matter", which has negative mass. This causes a weak inverted gravity field, which "pushes" (in reality, it makes them fall away from the hull) dust etc. away from impacting the hull. This allows the ship to enter atmospheres, and dust clouds. It was constructed in the upper atmosphere of a gas supergiant, and requires a visit back every fifty years to refuel.
- Equipped with Mindsettian FLTi (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=346388) technology, with a maximum radius of forty lightminutes (719,501,899km).

* The molecular binder generator works though a concept known as "Quantum Entanglement". This is a quantum mechanical phenomenon in which the quantum states of two or more objects have to be described with reference to each other, even though the individual objects may be spatially separated. This leads to correlations between observable physical properties of the systems that are stronger than any classical correlations. As a result, measurements performed on one system may be interpreted as "influencing" other systems entangled with it.

The generator holds a mass of solid hydrogen atoms in a looped voidhole (a wormhole that loops back on itself, and so can be used to store objects of infinite size in tiny spaces) equal to the mass of the hull. The generator gives each hydrogen atom either a negative or a positive charge, which is then translated onto the hull via Quantum Entanglement. When the entangled atoms of the hull are arranged correctly, positively to negatively charged, the bonds between them strengthen hence the overall thickness of the material required is reduced.

The Battleforge fighter class is piloted by third generation AIs, allowing for incredible gee manouvering without the need for bulky and expensive intertial dampening. This, along with the fact that the ship is built from silicon carbide (commonly known as charcoal) means that the overall cost of the ship in tiny, especially when it is constructed entirely from captured asteroids stored inside the enourmous bellies of the Mindsettian Battleforge, which manufactures these fighters at a phenomenal rate during battle.

Uhh Xanthal, that's the star forge. How's it move?
Correction: That is a picture of the Star Forge I reused for my ship. It is most certainly not the Star Forge any more.

Every navy at some point has to face the subject of cost. While since the beginning of the naval buildup in 1906, the Rijkszeemacht had, by personal decree of the Keizer, been given priority in spending, the cost overruns of the William the Silent Class, and the last class of Battlecruisers could not be overlooked, even by the Keizer. Something had to go somewhere.

For the last three years, there had been a debate regarding the doctrine covering the usage of battlecruisers. Official Rijkszeemacht doctrine said they were to be used in either a scouting role for the main fleet, or as "Cruiser-Killers" destroying enemy cruisers, so as to protect commerce on the high seas--the role they were actually designed for. The problem was other nations besides Essalieyan had battlecruisers, meaning in the scouting role for the main fleet, they would be fighting their counterparts in a roughly equal battle, and in any case, would be tied up that role. The Essalieyan Admiralty did not wish the Battlecruisers to engage in big gun duels unless absolutely neccessary, as Battlecruisers did not have the same scale of protection as battleships.

At this point in time, Admiral Hanna Raeder, made a suggestion to the Keizer. Stop building Battlecruisers, and begin building fast battleships. The fast battleships could take over the role of the existing battlecruisers, allowing them to be deployed on other duties, such as hunting down enemy cruisers. The fast Battleships would be superior to all enemy battlecruisers at the same time, allowing enemy scouting forces to be brushed aside.

The Keizer accepted this argument, and a class of 5 fast battleships were laid down.

These vessels were stretched copies of the De Ruyter Class of 1912, with nearly the same protection and armament, but more room for machinery. The price of these ships were enormous, but the savings generated by not having to build more battlecruisers more than made up for the extra cost.

The Carrier is built for all environments and is a flying ship(in case you havnt noticed). The Carrier can hold up to 120 interceptors(smaller ships defending carrier; also used for attacks)

Size:HUGE!!!
Weight: 250000 tons
Defence: Interceptors; Plasma Shield; Armor
Offence: Interceptors; Photon Beam(look at bottom for description)
Carrying Max: 25000 Soldiers 10000 Civilians 1000 tons of cargo
Speed: 1250 mph; No hyperdrive
Energy Load: 180,000,000 psi units

Photon Beam is used for destroying large area at one time; uses mass quantities of energy (around 25,000,000 psi units).

The ship, if not using Photon Beam can last around 3 years without refuel.

I think it's just you.

Point 1) This is NS. Well, not purely. This is half of it, the other half is your Nation (that's the place where you vote on issues and such)

Point 2) I like cheese

Point 3) This part of NS is all Role Play, typing and nothing more.

Point 4) I really like cheese

Point 5) If you need any more help you can read the stickies at the top of all the forums

Point 6) Have I mentioned I like cheese?

Yes, cheese is good, especially Wensleydale.

But one does wonder as to your want to collect data on most space going nations best warships..

Dude, I've been making threads like these since last September. It's simple curiosity on my part. As you'll see, I'm always the first to post my specs.

Other threads of mine along this line:

Best ship in all of NS
Best Offensive Weaponry
Best Defensive Weaponry
Best Fleet
Best Fast attack Craft
Best Slow power ships
etc.

I'm always hungry for more knowledge

Ah don't get me wrong, not dissing it, in fact I think its a great idea, and gets people to post stuff on their Nations.

Im just being all conspiracy theorist and paranoid NS player about it!
