Enemy of the State
ASD Aquitaine, Outer System Patrol, SR-2091, Associated Systems of Klonor
The crew members of the ASD Aquitaine were bored. Well, that's not really true. With all the constant effort required aboard a Starship there were never many moments of actual innactivity. But, they were feeling a bit empty. The had joined for action and adventure, to defend Klonor from the endless amounts of pirates, rebels, and invasions that the news never stopped reporting. Of course, the news always seemed to forget to say that for every ship which sees intense combat there were several hundred that never even glimpsed it at a distance. Damn reporters.
"Admiral on the deck!"
The sudden shout made every bridge member sit a bit straighter and stand a bit taller. Feeling a bit empty or not, when the Admiral shows up you make every move count. This includes the ships Captain, who was the Admiral's first target.
"Status report?"
"All systems normal, sir. The ships running fine and we haven't had an anomolous sensor reading yet."
"Excellent. What about the blockade of the TLMDG?"
"Perfect, sir. Ever since we got the massge from Deneb it's been on lockdown. Not one unregistered ship can get through it."
"Excellent. Take us in."
"Sir..........?"
"You heard me. Set course for the TLMDG."
"Uh......okay, sir. Destination?"
"Tau Ceti."
"Tau Ceti, sir? But......why?"
The Admiral turned on the Captain, pale blue eyes seeming to pierce the lower officer.
"Is there some reason you're asking?"
"Uh.....well.......I mean, no, sir. It's just that there's nothing in Tau Ceti. Why would the General want us there?"
"He doesn't."
"Then why are we going?"
"Because he doesn't want us there, and because there isn't going to be another Klonor ship within a Parsec of Tau Ceti's Gate."
"But.........."
The Capain doesn't even finish his sentence, in a flash he is gone. Not lying on the floor, not a pile of ash, simply gone (The Admiral silently praised the newly developed hand-held Phase Initiator).
"The next man who speaks out of turn will end up in the Brig right next to Captain Dolers. Do I make myself clear?"
The silence clearly answers in the affirmative.
"Excellent. Now, as I told the new prisoner, set a course for Tau Ceti via the TLMDG. Transmit all the necessary codes. Get us under way as soon as our patrol is over."
With a flurry of activity the crew quickly steps into motion as the Admiral retreats to his private quarters.
It serves that damn Duke right. Why the hell wasn't I sent? Huh? I'm the best damn commander in the Corps and I'm left on freaking patrol. Who led us to victory over Bobaria? Who kept our borders secure during the Second Shivan Incursion? Who stayed loyal to him after he died? After all the times he died. ME, that's who. But instead he sends that freaking "Supreme General". So the guys the head of the KSC, big deal! It should have been me! Well, I'm done taking it from the likes of them. All done.
As he sat, deep in thought, the Aquitaine finished its patrol and moved towards the TLMDG. A few transmissions and they're granted safe passage. Another and the Gate opens. A few seconds later, they're 1.5 million light-years away.
Direct Beam Transmission: Grand Duke Solomon Klonor, Vicegral Palace, Deneb, Associated Systems of Klonor
Transmission Origin: Admiral Petrarch, Commander of the Seventh System Fleet, ASD Aquitaine, Location Unknown
Screw you.
Transmission closed
Seven minutes later the Admiral and the Aquitaine are branded Enemies of the State. To be Terminated on Sight.

Private First Class Dalin Feergoth had been bored, bored to his very core, by the repetitve days and computer-controlled night. He was bored of the taste of the recycled air, and bored of the bland k-rations the troopers ate every meal. He was bored of his bunkmates, and bored of being bored.
All that went up in smoke when his Captain disintegrated.
Dal stared in shock, still standing at military attention. His eyes shifted to the imposing form of the Admiral, and at that moment, the young soldier realized that things were about to get a LOT more exciting. Dal smiled slightly before snapping off a perfect salute to his new boss.
OOC:Uh................who are you?
<<OOC: just a low-ranking trooper on your ship. One of the bored crew. No one of any consequence. I'll probably die in our first battle. If you would prefer to play alone, I can leave.>>
OOC: I meant who are you, the player. Cause you just kinda jumped in. This hasn't opened yet. I haven't yet decided where I'm going to go with this or who to involve. It's not that this is a closed RP, it's that this isn't an RP at all yet.
<<OOC: no problem, if it becomes an RP (and I think it should...it is a solid storyline), I would love to be part of it...I love people who go rogue!>>
Ensign Qos walked down the hallway towards the Aquitaines seldom used brig. Rows upon rows of cells were emtpy, a single person occupied the entire deck. Superficially a good thing, crime and insubordination were in short supply aboard the Aquitaine, the fact that it was the Captain of the ship put a slight tilt on the view.
Tha guards outside of the Captains cell, while not exactly a pair of DD's, were alert and well armed; Qos couldn't just stomp up to the cell and open the door. Fortunately, he did have a legitimate reason for being there. Well, he said that he had a legitimate reason.
"Admiral Perarch would like me to inspect the prisoner. He wants to make sure that he isn't equipped with the standard Phase equipment (which would thus allow him to easily exit the cell whenever he wished)."
"Captain Dolers has already been searched. Twice. He has nothing on him but his clothing and a bit of hair that we accidentally pulled out during the second search."
"The Admiral has ordered me. Would you like to go tell him to stuff it?"
The two guards didn't have anything to say to that. They knew what happened when you crossed the Admiral. A stay in the brig was something far beter than you could expect from even the most trivial of offences.
"Okay, go on in. But be quick about it."
"Yes, sir."
Ensigne Qos pulled open the door, walked in, and immedietly began to outline his plan to the Captain.

OOC: Can I be one of the crew or something from Freespace (or my own Nation, which is based in Freespace, along with MGS, Freelancer, our own weird invention etc.)?
TAG -- looks like a good read.
Flight Lieutenant Ell Tors looked at a picture of his wife and kids, a tear in his eye. He would never see them again, and he knew it. In fact, odds were he would never again see anything except the blackness of Space. He would be dead inside of five minutes.
He might love life, he might love his family, it might even be said that he loved the ship he served, but none of that compared to his love for Klonor. For Klonor he had risked his life again and again, and for Klonor he would finally give his life. At least it would be painless. The Phase Fighter wouldn't even re-integrate before it blew.
He gazed out of the window, a glimpse of hatred in his eye. He eyed the Aquitaine, floating in space, and no longer thought of his family. That bastard had imprisoned his Captain, made his ship an outlaw, and had turned against Klonor. What was done now had to be done.
He flipped a switch, broadcasting over the ships standard communications frequency.
"For the Duke! For the Association! For Klonor! You have strayed from the path, and I gladly drag you down to Hell!"
He flipped another switch, disappeared, and re-appeared inside the ship.
The detonation shook the ship from bow to stern, causing the lights to flicker and the gravity to fluctuate. Then both failed altogether as the MiniStar II, undamaged in itself, shifted a bare milimeter and burned away the power chords in one bright flash. Power died throughout the ship and crewmembers gasped and flailed their arms in shock. More important than that, it caused the locks throughout the ship to disengage.
With one mighty shove the Captain slammed into the door of his cell, swinging it open and crushing one guard beneath it as it slams into the wall. The other guard, already training his gun on the Captain, is suddenly penetrated by a variety of small metal objects moving at extreme velocities. Out of the other cells stepped the Loyalists, Phasing into them hours ago and waiting for the perfect moment.
The Captain surveyed the unconcious & dead guards, nodding his head.
"Police their weapons and armor, hide the bodies, and make it quick. I want us on the bridge in 10 minutes."
"Yes, sir!"
"I want my ship back."
OOC: Please don't post IC'ly if I haven't contacted you. There are precise plans in place for this RP.

As I, Etomer Lortnoc, walked slowly down the halls of the Aquitaine I began to feel an overcoming sense of anger towards Admiral Petrarch. After several years of being loyal to him I finally feel that he has now, as you say, "lost it." As he has gone rogue against the Nation of Klonor, I feel as if I must now turn my back on him. I finally turned the corner to reach the final hall way until I reached the jail in which the Captain had been sent to. Thoughts of what could happen to me if I were to be seen approaching the jail ran through my mind and I began to sweat. Finally, after what seemed to be a mile walk, I reached the door to the jail swung it open quickly and slammed it behind me. I ran over to the Captain and in a very short, yet promising speach, I pledged my alliance to the Captain and swore to do whatever need be to bring down the rebel Admiral.
Captain Dolers looked at the newest arrival in the brig and thought deeply to himself. He couldn't really remember much about Etomer Lortnoc, a ship with a crew of 10,000+ made it hard to remember the details of ever subordinates history, but he was sure that they'd need all the help they could get.
"You want to help? Then help with these bodies. Strip the armor, find all the ammo clips, and move them out of the way. We need to set up shop here and we can't have dead guys clogging up the works. Once your done with that talk to Corporal Lancer, he's in charge of setting up armed guards at all the brig entrances. All we have are three sidearms and two KSMAR-876's. So, we need to move fast. Now hurry up."

"Yes Sir," I repeated with every command the Captain gave me. I quickly jumped on the assignments that he gave and as I was required, I moved quickly. I stripped the bodies of their armor and placed the armor in rows against the wall. I removed all clips and piled them up near the suits of armor so that they could be easily taken incase of an emergency. Also, I rid off the corpses by piling one on another in a storgage closet that I locked as soon as I was finished. After finishing what I was assigned to do I reported to Corporal Lancer and I explained that I was sent by Captain Dolers and why. After that short story I also fully explained what I had done with the corpses, the armor and the ammo.
"Good work. Fast thinking, too. Now grab a KSMAR and get to the doors. The Admiral is sure to send somebody down to check on the Captain pretty soon, and they're bound to be armed."

I did just as I was told and took a weapon down to watch for the Admiral's men. I was there for a very short amount of time when three men rounded the corner heading straight towards the jail. I hid quickly around the corner behind the door inside the room. The door opened very slowly and as soon as one of the men peaked around I kicked the door shut on his head rendering him unconscience. The other two men dropped to there knees and began firing in my direction. They had to reload shortly and I took advantage of this and shot my rifle rapidly taking both of them out. I moved all three of the men into the closet where I had put the corpses earlier. Suddenly I heard the voices of atleast five or six more men jogging down the hall. I ran into the jail room, barged the door, tried to catch my breath, then took off to find the Captain and warn him that the battle was ready to begin.

OOC: here goes
Second Lieutenant Charles Kerensky, ship's engineer. He had been standing in the engineering room when the shooting started, and had ducked into a maintenance tunnel. He knew every square inch of the ship, having fixed nearly everything on board at one point or another. He knew he could get back to his cabin without being noticed, and pick up his RP-365 Rapier Railpistol there, after that he was clueless.
Minutes later, he was exiting a maintenance shaft into a nearby passageway, and then sprinting into his cabin. The Lieutenant locked the door, grabbed his weapon and ammunition, and sat down to think. A sharp rapping came at his door moments later, followed by a voice:
"Open up in there!"
Charles pocketed the weapon, and moved towards the hatch. He flicked a swich, and two well-armed marines appeared, with their weapons drawn.
"Lieutenant Charles Kerensky?" one of them stared at him while the other searched his meager quarters.
"Yes?"
"you will come with us, the admiral requires your assistance."
"I will do no such thing." With that, Charles pulled his pistol from his jacket pocket, and blew a hole through the marine's head, not a sound escaped from the magnetically accelerated slug. The second marine looked up, only to be drilled in the head as well. Charles grabbed one of the marines' weapons, and sprinted for the nearest shaft.
He thought to himself as he ran: Well, I suppose I've decided whose side to be on, now where to find the captain?
OOC: Sorry K-Man. Been up to my armpits (which on me is pretty high)
in AP homework the last week or so. Here it is.
IC:
Communications Specialist First Class Loren Green was doing a comm analysis in his quarters when he noticed an anomolous communication emanating from the ship. Suprised, he reviewed the message quickly. It read simply, "Screw you." When he looked at the transmission parameters, his eyes widened, and then he smiled slowly. "About time someone told that psychotic bastard to go space himself," he muttered.
Anticipating that many of his fellow crew would not agree with this sentiment, Loren grabbed his Diffuser Pistol (purchased on shore leave and definitely not Service-issue) and slipped it into his sleeve holster. He also belted on his standard issue pistol on his waist. Well then. It won't take long for the fighting to start, better get to the Bridge and offer my services to the Admiral.
Whistling cheerily to himself, Loren left his quarters and walked quickly down the corridor toward the lift tube that would take him to the Bridge and consequently to the Admiral.
OOC: Okay, now someody else posts.

Security Director Frederick Qualm sat at his desk, clad in his usual armour. Frederick was the type of man you rarely find, one content with lots of paperwork/reports, but also the one you'd find in the middle of a fight, and relishing it. And so, with his boots up on the table, he was reviewing the latest reports. Of course, he wasn't pleased with the Admiral's decision, but there wasn't much he could do, until someone started a fight. Which, Frederick though, would be soon. Suddenly, a console nearby bleeped, and so Frederick pushed off his desk, his chair going over to the console. Stopping in front of it, he keyed in a few commands, and a comm. message came up:
'Screw You.'
Frederick laughed. Obviously, a coup d'eat was imminent, and he was prepared for this. He scooted over to his desk, and picked up his comlink. He pressed the stud on the side.
"All Security Personnel, report to the main assembly hall ASAP. Over." he said.
Clipping his comlink to his belt, and picking up his beloved Pulse Rifle, Frederick got up, and started walking to the main assembly hall. This was going to be fun...
OOC: For the love of God, STOP POSTING HERE! Like I keep freaking saying, this is an INVITE ONLY THREAD!! I keep telling people to post, but that is directed at THE PEOPLE I HAVE INVITED!

OOC: You invited me.
OOC: No, I didn't. I don't know you. I've never interacted with you.
Seriously, why is it so hard for people to understand that this is an invite only RP? Gawdly's first post and a few others I can understand, I reall can, because I hadn't yet said that this was invite only. But after that I did say that people were not to post IC'ly and that this has a very strict plot to follow.

You have Klonor. I can't remember which RP it was...probably the Shivan Invasion, but either way, you sent me a TG.
OOC: No, I didn't. I've never even been in a Shivan RP. Not one.
Now, leave my thread.

OOC: Okay.
Klonor: IGNORED
OOC: Why? Huh? Tell me that. Because I asked you not to post in an invite only thread? Because I refuted your claimes that I've done stuff that I didn't do? Because you are simply wrong? I have done nothing IGNORE worthy (Well, I actually have, just not in this thread) and I think you are just being a petulant child who can't stand not getting his/her way.

OOC: For one thing, we have RP'ed in the past, you fail to recognise that, and secondly, you did invite me. Or how else would I have known about this thread (bear in mind that I do not partake in invite only RPs' unless I've been invited, which I have, but you say I haven't yadayadayada...). And anyway, apart from a couple of peeps, not many are partaking, but ahve it your way, now, do you want proff, will you let me RP anyway, or do you want me to leave?

12-09-2004, 20:13
OOC: And I guess it was unfair to actually ignore you, sorry about that.
Klonor: NOTICED
OOC: It doesn't matter if we've RP'd in the past, I have asked you to not post here. That is it. End of discussion. Even if I did invite you (WHICH I DID NOT DO) it wouldn't matter, since I've cancelled it out by un-inviting you.
OOC: Can I be one of the crew or something from Freespace (or my own Nation, which is based in Freespace, along with MGS, Freelancer, our own weird invention etc.)?
And if I invited you how come your first post in this thread is asking to be involved?

Commander Marcus Wallington was sleeping soundly until a low level buzz echoed through his stateroom. The buzz was also accompanied with a slight mist of antisomnin which immediate aroused him from his slumber. It took him a second to get his bearings, but as soon as the buzz went off for a second time he was already up and heading to the door to see who it was. The door whisked open to reveal an enlisted man he recognized from being stationed on the bridge.
"Sir, you have been ordered to the bridge."
What the hell was the captain up to now, he thought. I went off duty less than two hours ago. He looked up at the enlisted man with a look in his eyes.
"What is the emergency?"
"Beg your pardon Sir, but Captain Dolers was relieved of command and the Admiral has taken command of the vessel."
"Wait. What did you just say, crewman?"
"I said, sir, Captain Dolers was relie..."
"I HEARD what you said crewman! What were the orders that were given just prior to his being relieved of command?"
"Sir the orders were to set a course for Tau Ceti at full speed."
The Commander took a step back at looked at the crewman in an odd way. What the crewman didnt realize was the information going through the commander's head.
"Crewman, I want you to report back to the bridge immediately, and if the admiral asks, I am getting ready and will be back on the bridge in fifteen minutes. Dismissed."
The crewman fired off a quick salute and then did an abrupt about face and headed back off to the bridge. The commander walked back over to his bed and sat back down and relaxed his posture so that he was slumped over. He hated what was about to happen, and there was no way in hell that some admiral would relieve his captain. He got up and began to dress. He would face the admiral when the time came.
Admiral Petrarch stood on the bridge and stared at the various computer screens. Each showed a different map of various enemies of Klonor, each map a potential shelter. Unfortunately, not many of the mapped nations still irked Klonor. An enemy of Klonor didn't remain an enemy for long. They didn't reamin in existence for long, either.
This happened: http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=6951272&postcount=10
"What the fucking hell was that?"
Silence answered him.
"Damnit, answer me!"
"Uh...we don't know, sir."
"Well, find out! Get the power back on! NOW! And get somebody down to the brig, make sure the Captain doesn't get out."
"Yes, sir."
