"The Democratic Arcologies of Feline, for the first time in a long time, looks out upon the world and sees no potential threats with their eyes turned towards our nation. With this, we make a stride towards the ambition of peace. We announce today, that due to the lack of threats, completion of our military instruments which we deem appropriate to defend our citizenry, and need only to maintain current force levels rather than increase them, we are slashing our military budget. For far too long has defence been a top budgetary priority of our nation.
We urge all nations of the world to unite in the dream of a realized active peace, where we wage peace and not war. A peace where violence is no longer a primary instrument of foreign policy. We call upon all nations of the world, not engaged in a cold or hot war, to decrease their military budgets.
This is not a sign of weakness. This is a sign of courage, of strength, and of confidence. This is a sign we can defend ourselves and promote our ideals across the world without flushing trillions of paw marks down the drain. This is a sign that there is hope for the future. This is a sign that peace has a chance.
I quote the great singer-songwriter-poet Bob Dylan, “How many more times must the cannonballs fly before they are forever banned?” I do not have the answer to this question. I don’t believe anyone does. But this is a promise I make today, and will make good on once I sign this paper: there will be less money spent on cannonballs."
