Allanean Independence Rally
Allanea-city, Heston-Square
The ANN newscaster lay down on the roof, aiming his camera like a sniper. He was a sniper, once – during the Fifth Edolian war. He earned fifteen kill marks doing that. He chuckled thinking, that the camera would become a much more potent weapon, today. Down below, on the pedestal of the huge Charlton Heston monument, a man in Allanean Army uniform stood. At his feet, a huge crowd stood. The cameramen on the other roofs covered the masses of people, focusing on the large banners.
And then the man started speaking.
“I am Major Bennings of the Allanean Armed Forces! That’s right, boys! The Allanean Armed Forces!”
The crowd cheers. On a 30th-floor windowsill, a child appears, waving a large Allanean flag.
“What I am holding in this hand, folks,” he waves a sheet of paper, “Is the so called peace treaty we supposedly signed with the Federation. It’s bogus – it’s signed by some dumb Allanean general at the threat of a planetkilling weapon. Well, Federales, we in Allanea don’t do it like that. You know what legitimizes treaties in Allanea? The will of the people! Not some dumb general in a bunker!”
Shouts of hatred emanate from the crowd.
“I like this treaty. I really do. Look at this part: ‘All Allanean Military Equipment, Uniforms, and Bases and other associated paraphernalia will be destroyed completely.’ It means I should burn my uniform. Well, Federales, here’s my uniform. I’m still wearing it, and if you want to burn it, you’d need to rip it of my corpse!”
The ANN news chopper makes a turn around the monument, taking a close up of the banner that says: ‘Shall Not Be Infringed” in large, red letters.
“They say here we’re not mature enough to run our country, and that they’re not going to leave until they say so. Apparently, that’s why they banned guns, too – we’re not mature enough to have them.”
Laughter emanates from the crowd.
“Well, Feds, I’ve got news for you: this is a free country. Our right to keep and bear arms is ours as a birthright, not yours to take away. Our right to run this country is ours as Allanens, not yours to take away. And if you want our freedom, well, that guy behind me is your answer!”
The large, polished figure of Charlton Heston glints in the sunlight like gold, holding it’s flintlok in the air as the ultimate, timeless, gesture of defiance.
Then, the Major lights his copy of the treaty up with his zippo and holds it up as it burns, to the cheers of thousands of Allaneans in the crowd and milllions behind TV screens.
Then, several figures rush out on the roof one of the skyscrapers around the square, fiddling with something. In several secondss, a huge banner bearing the words FEDS GO HOME unfurls along the building wall.
“Zoom in on that”, says one of the Journalists.

A grinning Kadovsky peered at the screen atop the master panel. "Keep pushing it, you'll get the belt sooner or later. I'm astounded at the speedy recovery of your armed forces, commercial buildings, your streets, your space forces and various data communications systems.
"Stupid General in a bunker or not, the representitive of Allanea agreed to a binding treaty, and the people must act according to the treaty, whether they're more than willing pro-FSP Allaneans or ravaging anarchists. You are getting no where with armed rebellion. Focus on the truly productive tasks at hand, such as rebuilding your nation, your economy, your space technology- Agh. What am I saying?!"
Kadovsky deactivates the Commlink with Allanea and opens a secure connection with the other nations in this conflict.
"Can we just slaughter these bastards now and go on our merry way? They are obviously too incompotent to comprehend anything we say."

"As the protest aired on the foreign channels within Foolish Pesants, the call to arms was taken up by the Ex-Pat Allaneans and other immigrants. Incensed by the rally, they had moved in a peaceful protest on the capital, Free Zalto City, demanding that the Government approve of the rebel actions within Allanea. Within hours of the protest staging around the Government offices, the true colours of the Allanean scum shone through. Using illegal weapons smuggled in to satisfy their barbaric urges to own obsolete weapons, they opened fire on passing Civilians and police forces watching over the previously peaceful protests. After an initial success, the area was locked down with all non-combat personnel evacuated and the infamous "Plan Alpha" was called into affect. After the success of our troops in the field, a brief investigation led to the discovery of an illegal weapons smuggling ring within the Allanean community. All Allaneans are now held suspect within the country and have been brought in for questioning, to ensure that this near tragedy doesn't happen again.
This is Bervar Ulderhan, reporting live from the Government District, Free Zalto City."

Also there is the News heading that says that its a Televised report, so to put it simply for those who don't get it, PROPAGANA! Thats right! I'm IC using my media services to lie ICly!

No. In fact, I ignore FP.

Reilock Coratha sat back in his chair, quietly going over the notes of the Governments latest initiative. The operation had been a complete success, performed to precision down to the last detail. The Allanean people had time and again proven themselves as a crass, warmongering state of untrustworthy dogs and they had been in his nation. It was an unfortunate choice, though given the open door policy for those willing to take more menial jobs made it unavoidable. The last straw had been with their poorly executed propaganda campaign dubbed “8/20”. They had the nerve to try and alter their own standing in such an unbelievable and radical way that only the Allanean people themselves would fall for it. According to the sales figures some had, sympathisers could not be harboured in Foolish Pesants.
The order itself was a simple one, Plan Alpha. It was a code word for a systematic destruction of protesters or government enemies. It literally meant to eliminate anything moving, as it was first employed as a measure against rioters and rebels. The immigration department had full files on all non-citizens, even those who had gained illegal entrance into the country. It was a simple matter of using the police forces to remove them from their homes and eliminate them all. The actual number of Allaneans was extremely small, though the amount of sympathisers was enormous. The Government has had its share of rebellions started by sympathisers to other causes; such weak people were easily corrupted. If they were left unaccounted no doubt they would have gone and contested the rule of The Sentient Peoples or something equally dire.
The true genius came from the manipulation of the media and other factors to give a believable story. Even in a state such as Foolish Pesants, you couldn’t eliminate this many people without a good pretext. The recent protests had provided an excellent cover for these more dubious operations. It was relatively easy to hire outside mercenaries to perform a protest, indeed they had been more than willing to get paid for something that didn’t involve them risking their lives. They had been provided with blank firing guns and given a list of targets that would react to shooting. Once underway, everyone had been pulled out to make sure no one could witness the clean up. After that it was a simple matter of sending troops in to fire blanks at the mercs for the benefit of anyone watching the events, via satellite or other covert means.
The mercenaries themselves underwent a “debriefing”, in that their memories of the protest were wiped and replaced with a war games scenario, for which they were handsomely paid. The media themselves thought they were reporting the truth, and any investigation would prove the Governments actions as legitimate. Even now, all written records were being expunged and soon there would be no evidence of anything amiss at all. It was all too easy.
As he though about all this, Reilock allowed himself to feel duly smug. Not only had he stopped a possible rebellion, he'd made a nation look bad at the same time.
"Not even worth bragging about" he said grinning.

Near Heston Square, Allanea City, The Federation Territory of Allanea, FSP
The Hydora IFVs floated near silently down streets, their drive fields carefully nudging dead vehicles from their path, those without the fuel to have gone anywhere in months. Fuel was still short in Allanea, even after quite a number of months of production.
Especially since the Federation, despite importing fairly large quantities of fuel, was hardly converting it all to gasoline for sale. Petrochemicals had quite a number of other uses, after all.
A full company’s worth of Federation Ground Force was deployed, sixteen of the heavily armed and armored fighting vehicles, carrying over two hundred men and women in semi-powered armor. A thousand Security-2 robots plodded silently behind them, moving spread out over a number of streets to reduce the noise of their passage.
Of course, the noise of the rally was helping cover the deployment as it easily surrounded the square, well out of sight, the rally having draw all those nearby in already. The IFVs faded into their camouflage, and the Sec-2's merely seemed to vanish as they slithered into the shadows.
Stage, Heston Square, Allanea City, The Federation Territory of Allanea, FSP
Out of thin air, four dark forms resolved quickly, the hated black form of the Security-2 robot, standing on the stage as the banner was unveiled on the side of the building.
Some of the robots had been equipped with active camouflage systems that allowed them to basically vanish as long as they did not move at all. And they hadn’t been moving, of course, until Howe ordered them to.
The voice of one of them, though it was nearly impossible to tell which one, (or was it all of them) spoke loudly enough to be heard over the crowd.
“Mister Bennings. You are under arrest for the commission of crimes in violation of the document of which you are currently burning a copy, and the Federation law it embodies, specifically, the position of an illegal uniform under Section Two of the Surrender Terms.”
One might have sworn they heard the smile in the robot’s voice, but of course, there was no such thing. “As the Federation Territory of Allanea is under martial law, you are not entitled to a trial by jury, nor representation. Anything you say which can be used against you will be.”
One of the robots stepped forward, a stunner slung under its arm. “You are ordered to surrender yourself into our custody for punishment according to the law for the commission of a Class Four Felony (Non-Capital). We are authorized to use non-deadly force should you fail to surrender yourself.”

It was a bit strange that the Allanean uprising would be reported in the comedy section of the Daily Times. Still, it was also strange that the journalist who wrote it was so light hearted about it all. Perhaps it was for the fact that the newspaper was trying to push the message of blatent stupidty, so much so that its just funny.
Anyhow, Edward grew concerned about the situation. Such rallies were usually not a one off occasion. Walking over to his desk, he pulled out his computer, and began to dictate to it, the program automatically recognising his speech.

As I write this, I do not mean to suggest that your military is unable to handle the situation, so please do not misinterpret the meaning of this transmission. Actually, I hope that we are able to work together in these matters, so that the dog named Allanea can be put down for good.
I have noticed the situation in Heston Square, Allanea City, and I am growing in concern over the situation relating to the nation's occupation. Surely you must realise that since independant media would be watching and recording, that the news will spread out to the tiny provinces of Allanea. We are concerned of this, because generally, the people only need a leader.
You may have arrested Major Bennings for violation of the treaty, however we are concerned that there very well could be more out there. If the situation is not handled carefully, we far that the people of Allanea could be inspired into a full-scale uprising, something we do not wish to see your forces to suffer under such circumstances.
Therefore, I am offering you perhaps fifty-thousand soldiers to assist you in the occupation of Allanea. These soldiers would be specialised in the particulars of Law and Order, and while your soldiers would also be providing security, our soldiers would be acting as a temporary police force, investigating incidences where an uprising may occur.
The offer is there, and should you choose not to take it, we understand. But I trust that such matters will be discussed at the conference soon.

OOC: Stage? The man is standing on the pedestal of the Charlton Heston Monument.
IC: The Major smiles at the robot.
"Silly machine. You think there's only two alternatives, don't you? Surrendering immediately, or trying to whack you accross your dumb metal head. Well, you're wrong."
He sits down.
"Friends, citizens, Allanean! I am not able to fight. But I am not surrendering. They may now carry me off to jail. But they'll need to literally carry me there, for I will not move or make a step to please them. If they wish, they may stun me with their weapons and carry me off. If they wish, they may then cut my uniform off my body. But I will not make a step or move a limb to aid them. One does not have to fight to resist. Remember the President's speech? Your most powerful weapon is your mind. Use that - and gain freedom!"
And the crowd begins chanting:
'Freedom! Freedom! Freedom!"
The newscaster aboatd the ANN helicopter whispers to his cameraman: 'Zoom in on that one.'
There was a saying in the ICMC that the 1st SOU-D was not really part of the ICMC, just using its money, equipment, and supplies to go on fancy trips where more ofhten than not, they killed alot of people. Unless given direct orders from ChiefAdm. Dodge, head of the full military force presence in Imitora, or First Speaker Fortier, they did whatever they wanted, when they wanted. Of course, when you had the ability to make Britans SAS or the US's Delta Force look like weekend warrior reservists, you got rights like that.
The 1st SOU-D consisted of two hundred operating personel, and a little more logisitcal help. On this particular day, 2nd squad, Alpha Co, Third Platoon, happened to be watching the news, when the information of the Allanea rally came on screen. After a brief discussion among themselves, they decided that this sounded like a good opertunity for some fun. Means were set into motion to see if contact could be made with the major.
OOC: I am assuming that Major Benning got arrested, since he did not resist arrest.

Good day, Allaneans. Coming to you from a galaxy far, far away, is the Allanean News Network. A week later, it is now clear that the rally did not in fact pass unnoticed. Across Allanea, acts of civil defiance occured, some minor, some major.
In Heston city, a group known as the Parents Vigilance Committee declared a 'parental strike', refusing to send their children to Federal schools 'until the old curriculum is fully reactiviated'.
In several schools in the capital, high-school students 're-decorate' their classrooms with portraits of President Kazansky, copies of the Allanean Constitution and the National Anthem.
In Aissur, the Aissurian Taxpayers Union declared that its members would refuse to pay any Federal taxes. As of this moment, 3,500 people have signed up to the initiative.
ln several places accross the country, eggs, flour, and paint where thrown at Federal officials.
A group called Allaneans for Independence is calling for a series of rallies to unfold on a single day all accross Allanea. Rumours have it they are planning acts of civil defiance.

Slamming the newspaper down in anger, the Austarian President immediatly began to dictate a letter to the Sentient Peoples. Surely they would disallow the Allaneans to roam free like it appears; perhaps they were having difficulty controlling the situation. The people, it seemed, were beginning the dangerous cycles of defiance which could very well lead to an uprising against the current government in place.

I am growing in concern over the escalating situation in Allanea, that should the idea spark off, it could mean that the nation of Allanea could erupt into a state of civil war, with your forces being targeted first. I call upon you as your duty to lower the moral of these people, and even accept help from outsiders such as ourselves.
We both know it is a turbulant world we live in, therefore we are are upping our offer of 50 000 soldiers, which we feel now inadequate, to a level more appropriate. Therefore I am re-issuing you the offer, however the number of soldiers will number approximatley less than One Million, plus their relative equipment. These soldiers will be working to limit the flow of information of Allanea, most will be acting as a 'secret-police', so that plans can be intercepted and cancelled.
Please, it is your duty to do something of the situation, before the situation does something about you.

Dealing with Resistance, Federation Territory of Allanea
Former Major Bennings was still under arrest in solitary confinement. The Sec-2’s had merely picked him up and carried him away, since he had not resisted.
They had not stunned him until the got back to base, so that the Federation officials they turned him over to could remove his uniform.
When Bennings had awoke, he was in a room, 1.5 meters by 2 meters, with no windows and no obvious exits. He wasn’t monitored in any way, since were he to escape, he would be in the middle of a military base. He had also been naked when dumped in the room. But he had been provided with clothing, laying on the floor next to him. Now, since that fabric was a standard prisoner’s uniform, basically impossible to break through or destroy, it was assumed to be intact. But if he was wearing it was anyone’s guess, since the fabric was composed of hundred of tiny little Federation flags. Water arrived every day in an unbreakable plastic container, along with a nutrition bar, twice a day.
Other than that, the only other feature of the room was a small bucket in the corner. It was clear what that was for.
* * * * *
As for the Parent’s Vigilance Committee? No one bothered to arrest them, there were not enough cells. They were simply violating Federation Law in not sending their children to school. This was not a serious crime, but it was a crime, if the children under seventeen (for humans) were not attending a public school, an authorized private school (which Demented’s school chain was), or attending authorized home schooling, which was not granted to any of the parents involved in the strike, of course. Further, home schooling licenses were very limited in the number of children a specific parent could teach.
So they were fined. If one or more parent worked at a Federation supplied job, they were paid in Federation credits, and the money was automatically deducted from their accounts. Fifty Federation Credits a day, per child. The amount happened to be the low end pay, approximately, for a single days work. So every day the child did not go to school, it was as if the parent did not work that day.
A comparable amount of Allanean currency was deducted as well, if they had it in banks, for some Allanean businesses still operated on it, and the heavy presence of the gold currency in private hands allowed for it to be still used in exchange, though admittedly at the standard exchange rate.
If they had no capital, of course, other measures would be taken. Security-2 Robots would arrive in their homes, and stun everyone. They would then remove an appropriate piece of personal belongs equivalent to the fine. For some reason, they seemed to concentrate on modern convenience electronics, such as microwaves and such. If it continued past the point at which there were no more of these items left, books were next, then games and toys.
* * * * *
And the high school students? Well, the next day when they arrive at school, they merely find their decorations removed. If they do it again? Removed again. If they wished to waste their schooling time, that was no skin off the teacher’s backs. And the monitoring AI’s and their cleaning robots had infinite patience.
Teenagers were finicky, after all. They would become bored of the task well before the AI got annoyed with them.
* * * * *
The Aissurian Taxpayer’s Union found themselves literally in the dark. Seeing as the only Federation tax was on the power supplied by the ABF reactors, and while not controlling the power supply, the Federation did control its distribution.
If the five percent tax on electricity was not paid, the electricity did not flow to those who failed to pay it.
It was fairly simple.
* * * * *
As for those people who threw messy things at Federation Officials? They were simple to deal with as well.
It took a couple of days, but eventually high visible Security-2 robots were deployed around Federation housing and work areas, and anyone wishing to throw an egg or flour or paint found themselves on the receiving end of a highly painful, but non-lethal dose of maser fire.
Their skin just felt like it was on fire for about thirty seconds. Then they were allowed to continue on their way. If they decided to keep throwing, the length of time increased after each incident, in thirty second increments.
Some people would of course try it by switching locations, but all the Sec-2’s were uplinked to a central node, and no matter what was tried, once a face was recorded, they got the appropriate punishment for however many eggs or whatevers had been thrown, wherever they had been thrown.
* * * * *
Simply put, other than a few extra showers for the Federation officials, all the Allaneans were accomplishing was a redeployment of a fraction of the Sec-2 strength and to make the lives of those who resisted utterly miserable.
But that was their choice.

Anti-Allanean Independence Rally held in Knootoss
THE HAGUE - A group of about 350 protestors today staged a peaceful demonstration against Allanean independence in the city centre of The Hague. The demonstration was organised by the conservative RCPK Youth Wing. A spokesman of the political youth organisation called itself: "concerned with unrest in certain areas of the Federation of Sentient Peoples" and said that this demonstration "was directed against insane maniacs gaining power in Allanea".
The demonstrators carried signs such as "NO POWER FOR WARMONGERERS" and "A SAFE HAVEN: A PEACEFUL ALLANEA". The chairwoman of the youth organisation stressed that the rally was "in full support of our Galadriël" and just giving a signal that many in the DDR did not want the former Allanean "insane leadership" to regain its power despite "attempts by the left-wing media to portray this fight of junta leaders who fled like cowards as a fight for freedom"
"Hey Jimmy, start getting in touch with your contacts up top, see what we can get for this. Ryan, do your PR thing, and get some spots," the commander of the unit barked out. The letter offered a little bit of hope for the men of the squad, and they decided that they would have fun with this. A letter was quickly sent back in return.
The men of 2nd squad, Alpha Co, Third Platoon, would like to help in any way possible. If you could simply give us the location of a landing area suitable of holding a large amount of soldiers and equipment, we should be on the ground shortly.
The Freethinkers
03-09-2004, 16:59
Government House, Navarre
Theodor Barham stood on his office balcony looking out down the promenade towards the Navarre Basin, with its watery surface glittering in the sunlight. The promenade itself was a rectangular set of three roads seperated by majestic parks that had been designed to stage rallies, providing an orderly enviroment for the disgruntled public to express their views safely. The geometrics of the roads were designed to allow an observer to quickly estimate the number of protesters, you counted the blocks and you knew roughly how many were there.
Not many were here today...a thousand, maybe two, somewhere in between Barham estimated, waving their flags and displaying a few crude banners. Like all Freethinkers protests it had an almost fun-like atmosphere. The few police on duty stood back and were there to look good for the tourists as much as actual security.
What was remarkable about the protest though, was what they were protesting about. It was a solidarity rally, for Allanea! Twelve months ago something like that would have been laughed at, but now....underlying feelings were slowly...very, very slowly, beginning to change. Many Freethinkers, or Freests, or whatever they called themselves, were now wishing, at least secretly, for the big, highly advanced army in haven to finish their job and move on. Like the Allaneans, the Freethinkers valued independence above all else, and with miniscule movements what became acceptable to say swung slowly towards an expressed desure to help the 'poor downtrodden' Allaneans.
The response from the government was little in scale in the short run. Only recently did the government recognise the ABF movement at all, but now 'special' charitable status had been placed on the organisation, allowing private donations to be sent to the ABF from Freethinker citizens. The Freethinker government was firmly in support of the Sentient Peoples, but in peoples homes and gardens packages and cheques were packaged and written.
Making their slow way through the postal system to ABF couriers were parcels of what people assumed to be helpful equipment for their Allanea...'comrades' as one teenage protester put it. Flares and tools, small water-desalinisation kits, cutlery, ration packs, torches, batteries, and a whole host of other things many people found in their own survival kits. One popular gift in particular, though no one knew why except by recommendation through word of mouth, was the small, portable solar-powered battery rechargers much beloved by campers and hikers in the Freethinker wilderness.
Slowly, surely, these parcels began to arrive at ABF distribution offices, marking solidarity between them and a handful of fringe protesters doing what they felt was the right thing as they marched down the Promenade.
When Major Benning wakes up, the first thing he does is pick up the uniform – then throw it away in disgust.
“S%^t!” blurts the Major. Then, suddenly, he has an idea.
When the guards come in to change the Major’s bucket and food, they find the uniform has been shoved into the bucket, after being used as toilet paper.

In the Wayne Lapierre high school in Port-Allanea, the Federation flag in front of the school is taken down and burned, and an Allanean flag raised in its place. Every single window in the school is found broken the next morning. According to the witnesses, the window-breakers were wearing face masks.
In Heston city, two hundred members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars union march towards the local Federal building, protesting what they call the ‘unlawful arrest of Major Benning’. They are all wearing parade dress and all regalia they’ve earned during Allanea’s various conflicts.

Heston-Square, Port-Allanea
A young man walks up to the Heston monument, carrying a can of gasoline. Another man follows him with a camera. The man takes a deep breath and begins a passionate – and well-memorized – speech.
‘Friends! Citizens! Allannean!
What have we come to? A foreign government, that has adopted ‘might makes right’ as its official slogan, has taken over our beautiful country. It has instituted a total gun ban. They have instituted a tax – and no representation to go with it. Wasn’t Allanea founded on ‘no taxation without representation’? They are sending robotic troops to rob Allaneans – well, I guess it’s because they’re too scaredy-pants to send live ones into an Allanean’s home, now aren’t they?
Today, some charities started bringing in solar panels. Use them. Don’t pay their taxes. Don’t go their schools. Don’t use their money.
Our grandfathers fought a war with people who tried to do what the Feds are doing, and gained their independence. If we surrender now, it will mean they had died in vain. But you might not care about the deaths of your grandfathers. So today I’ll give you something to care about.
Mother, I love you.’
He then pours gasoline on himself and sets himself on fire.

Frowning, he sighed and shook his head. Indeed, the Sentient Peoples had the current situation under full control. Reading the intelligence reports, he was pleased with their ingenious ideas, and it seemed as if the current problems were being erradicated. But his concern was for the future, and although he was thankful to the Sentient Peoples for their concern, he also felt concern for the troops which were already in Allanea. The last thing he wanted to see was for two million occupational troops to come under heavy fire without support, and at the very least, he didnt want to see another independant Allanea.
Writing back, he knew he had to respect the wishes of the occupational forces;

TO MINISTER Belinda Ranwell, TAD, FSP
FROM: President Edward Grove, Austar Union
SUBJECT: Our offer of troops
--------------------------------------------
We thank you for your concern for the security of our armed forces, and in that same respect, we will respect your wishes to not have exterior involvement in the issue. Indeed it seems that you have the situation under your control.
We would like to apoligise for any arrogence which would have come across in the last transmission, as it was unintended. We will be looking forward to the conference on Allanea, and Amanda Read, our representative is more so excited. We hope a good solution can be found, as it already seems as if you are more than capable of completing this task.
Sending the message off immediatly, he sat back in his chair. He had decided to hold back opinions that the situation would get worse; though there was more evidence than nessasary to prove the fact. He only hoped that they were prepared for an outbreak of conflict in Allanea, should one come about. The people were passionate, and seemed to care very little of their own fate more than the overall fate of Allanea.

In AEGIS Destroyer Sealion's mess, the ship's officers are watching the news broadcast.
"Sir, are we gonna react?" a young officer asks, at the same time looking for action but frightened.
"No one knows. We don't even know who we stand by" answers the ship's commander. "Anyway, the amphibious carriers are still a couple days away from here."
"But we'll know soon", he tells himself...
The Island States

President Newman sat at his desk, drinking a cup of coffee as he read the newspaper. After many years since his rise to power in the coup that overthrew the first leader of The Island States, he began to read up on who would try to run against him in the elections. After a short while, he heard a noise he did not recognise coming from outside. He got up, walked through the double-glass doors leading onto the 2nd floor balcony of the Presidental Palace, and was greeted with a sea of people.
"HELP ALLANEA!" was written on one banner. "AID THE ABF!" read another. Hundreds of thousands of people were chanting pro-allanean slogans and some fired off gunshots.
The Island States had every reason [back in May '04] to hate Allanea. They had attacked an ally, demanded Asherton Island as part of a surrender agreement, persuaded a TIS President to commit Treason against the state, formed a major alliance against the UnAPS, and so on. However, with the news coming from Allanea, the people could no longer stand to see such acts committed in Haven. The President walked back into his office and pushed down the intercom button to his secretary.
"Get everyone on the 'Alpha' list on the phone, I'm calling a meeting."
You are not logged in
04-09-2004, 08:16
Something strange happened in You are not logged in today. For quite some time, our neighbors to the north, Allanea, have been viewed with malaise. A nation which praised freedom, yet only brought war and destruction on its neighbors. Yet, there was a change in the people. Allaneans, whom the people have only know to be weary of, now developed a great deal of sympathy for.
Imagine. Robotic overlords controlling your own actions. Your own thoughts. Your own desires.
So it happened in You are not logged in. The Inability had no hand in this. Little Sally Cummings tore a black piece of ribbon off one of her dolls, and pinned it to her shirt. She wanted to make a statement. She felt sorry for all the poor Allanean boys and girls who had their parents die; and now were being oppressed by those very same robots. She wanted, in the only way she knew how, to let all Allaneans know that their pain and struggle is heard. This oppression crosses borders. Your cries do not go unheard.
When Sally got to school, she put her lunch bag into her cubby hole, and sat down at her desk. When she looked up, she was amazed to see all of her classmates wearing black ribbons and armbands. As the bell rang, the teacher got up from her desk.
"Class, I know a lot of you are feeling pretty crumby about what's going on in Allanea. I understand. I feel the same way. We all feel the same way. It's okay to have these feelings."
"I have a special friend. He may be able to get a message to Allanean boys and girls. If you would like, you can spend the morning making your own drawing or letter to young Allaneans, to let them know, that they are in your hearts."
Sally got real excited. She reached into her desk and pulled out a piece of paper, and her crayons. On the paper, she drew a mangled heap of robots in gunmetal grey. With her indigo crayon, she drew an Allanean family on top of the pile, making sure to put a gun in each of their hands. Now it was the time to take it up a notch. Navy blue! Forest green! Laser lemon! Atomic tangerine! Razzmatazz! All coming together to form a rainbow. On top of that, with vivid violet, she wrote, FREEDOM.
And it wasn't just the children. Dennis Shultz went into work. He had placed a black ribbon on his lapel. When he got to work, he was amazed to see so many of his co-workers had done the same thing. When he went to his favorite lunch counter, the cook went on and on about the "God damn machines thinkin' they're better than people."
Eric Martin was a bit worried where he was. Ever since SP had brought war to the area, Inability patrols had backed off from the border. Tonight, he was on his own mission. His girlfriend had given him messages from the children from the school she worked at. He kept close note of the GPS coordinates. He didn't want to actually cross the border. He just hoped to run into an Allanean he could pass this bag to.
The Freethinkers
04-09-2004, 11:23
Freethinker National News Service
....
"....and in business news today, industry leaders are hailing a decision by the Freethinker government to lift the ban on industrial relations with the currently occupied nation of Allanea. The ban, in place since the beginning of the Axackali war, prohibited Freethinker companies from applying for contracts within Allanea or as sub-contractors for Allanean firms.
Since the fall of the Kazansky government and the occupation of Allanea by the Sentient Peoples, the destroyed industrial base has left what has been described as a literal 'goldmine' of reconstruction and primary resource contracts that are worth several billion dollars in total. Freethinker companies have been straining at the gate to be allowed to compete for what is lucrative and market gaining work in the territory of our former enemy.
Indeed, already a consortium consisting of Kettering Maritime Engineering, Kettering Petroleum Products and the Freethinker Algamated Food Company has applied for permission from the Sentient Peoples to embark on a joint construction scheme with the 'Allaneans for a Better Future' charity to rebuild the quayside facilities to allow the safe docking and loading of ultra-large oil tankers and grain ships, in order to significantly speed the tansfer and sale of these goods to the various Freethinker territories.
These companies have been helped by the Freethinker Treasury's official recognition of the stamped gold Allanean currency as a viable means of monetary exchange. This will allow the consortium to pay the considerable number of local workers that would be employed by the project to be paid in the Allanean gold specified as a condition by the ABF.
In general, public sympathies are slowly moving towards the Allaneans. Whilst most people still think the events of the 'One Day War' were justified, many people also said that the attack had been punishment enough and now wished to see a speedy end to the ocupation. Even the Freethinker government, which has expressly stated their own solidarity with the Sentient Peoples, have asked if there is a timetable for Allanean independence. The Prime Minister also addressed civil rights concerns regarding the physical use of pain-causing instruments to punish civil disobedience.
Also of note regarding Allanea was the respected charity Freedom For All changing its stance to state its view that it wished to see an end to the Allanean occupation. Having made overtures towards ABF, FFA is now taking charge in coordinating solidarity rallies (which now number into the tens of thousands) as well as distributing charitable aid to the ABF and Allaneans in general. Several similar charities who promote democracy are also rumored to be thinking about changing their view of the situation.
Moving on, the new 10 Mintel note was launched today to a...."
Suddenly, Eric saw a large jeep going in his direction. By the camouflage colouring, the ‘Molon Labe’ bumper sticker, and the now-empty machinegun mount in the back he was able to guess it to be Allanean. The driver stood up in the open vehicle:
‘Yo, mate! Don’t move! You’re five meters from the border, and those strange robot-thingies enforce it to the meter!’
When Eric pauses, the Allanean continues:
‘How is it over there? Is anybody there capable of sending us solar batteries, food, anything?’
In the ABF Headquarters
'Good. Ragnar, I want you to take people to go and establish an office in Freethinkers. Nothing shiny yet. Still, I would say it is a good start.''
Ancient and Holy Terra

ATNN News Building
Tellerus, Ancient Terra
185th Floor, 9 PM (Slightly ahead of time)
Inside the immense 230-story ATNN Broadcast Building in Tellerus, crews bustled about. The 9:00 news were about to go live. With a nod from the technical crew, the lead anchor, a pretty woman with brown hair, began the broadcast.
"Hello, and thank you for joining us on the Ancient Terran News Network. I'm Melissa Ariya..."
"And I'm Koushiro Iyagi. We have several news reports for you tonight. First, we're going downtown to report on the ongoing automobile union stikes, occuring in fr-."
Koushiro stopped talking abruptly as a message popped up on his recessed flatscreen monitor. He paused and read the report, gulping a bit as he looked back up at the camera.
"Well, loyal viewers, it appears that we have a report just in!"
The words "Breaking News" flashed up on televisions across the country, followed by video footage of thousands of bodies surging through the streets of a large, modern city. The video had clearly been recorded from a helicopter. This is quickly replaced by the news anchors again, although the words "Breaking News" remain at the bottom of the screen, scrolling ticker-tape style and offering up bits of information on the incident. Melissa shuffled her papers and spoke.
"According to reports we've recieved, thousands of protesters descended upon the city of Kotori, provincial capital of the Makaati region. Apparently, over 125,000 men and women swarmed through the streets of this city, distrupting traffic and business for more than four hours. They are apparently protesting the occupation of the former United States of Allanea."
Koushiro took over at this point. "The protest was apparently organized by four very large pro-Allanean groups that have sprung up in recent days; TASA, SPAW, TACRUSA, and SETODA. TASA (Terrans Activists in Support of Allanea), SPAW (Society for the Promotion of Allanean Welfare), TACRUSA (Terrans Actively Campaigning for the Restoration of the United States of Allanea), and SETODA (Society for the Ethical Treatment Of Downtrodden Allaneas) have emerged as the voice of the pro-Allanean Terrans. A variety of other groups joined this march, including the NTRA (National Terran Rifle Association), SAAWL (Supporters of the Adoption of Allanean Weapons Laws), and GASP (Go Away Sentient Peoples!)."
Melissa started talking again. "This is obviously something new for the government of the Republic of Ancient Terra. For the past ten years, Allanean-Terran relations have been both minimal and cold. Despite actions such as the 'One Step Forward' trade pact, which reinstated limited trade between Ancient Terra and the USA, the people of Ancient Terra rejoiced in the streets when they heard word of Allanea's downfall. In the aftermath of the orbital strikes, however, a small minority has emerged in Ancient Terra that actively campaigns for the reemergence of the United States of Allanea."
Koushiro began reading from his notes. "Following rumors that the people of Allanea are being treated harshly, and inhumanely, however, more Terrans than ever are now supporting the restoration of Allanea to its former glory. A recent poll shows that nearly 20% of the people of the Republic of Ancient Terra now feel that they'd feel more secure if the USA of old were in power."
Melissa returned to speaking about the protests. "The protests occured in Kotori, the largest city in Western Terra. Western Terra has a much lower population density than the coastal cities of the East, and has long been recognized as a haven for the pro-gun minority. As such, this region has always been warmer towards Allanea than the Conservative but pro-gun control East. Kotori has a population of 14 million. As upwards of 125,000 protestors filled the streets, shops closed and traffic was stopped for several blocks. Protestors carried banners displaying 'No more occupations!', 'Give Allanea its Freedom!', and 'Sentient Peoples, you've gone too far!'. A dozen people gathered around an lifesize, inflatable Emperor Taichi Kamiya, and set fire to it. Emperor Kamiya has been criticized by minority fringe groups for sending billions in aid to assist the occupiers."
Koushiro glanced at his display and took over for Melissa. "The protest gradually grew out of control. Thousands of gun-afficiandos taking part in the protest fired their weapons into the air, resulting in minor property damage and some injuries. Several dozen cars were damaged by the crowd, and hundreds of windows were broken. As the protest drew closer to its intended destination, the Provincial Capitol Building, Regional Governer Ronald Aki gave the green light for Kotori Police Forces to stop the protest. Over 3000 police officers descended on the protest, ordering the people to disperse. When this was unsuccessful, water cannons, tear gas, and a variety of other non-lethal crowd dispersal systems were used. The police made over 850 arrests, focusing on those who attempted to injure personnel or equipment."
Melissa started talking again."Emperor Kamiya issued a statement supporting Governor Aki's use of force in this occasion, but reinforcing that the Republic of Ancient Terra believes in free speech. He added that it was regrettable that the protest had to be concluded in such a violent manner, but that it was clearly the only option left before the protestors caused damage to more public and private property. He has repeatedly denounced the pro-Allanean organizations as 'ungrateful, unrealistic, and uncaring'." She paused for a second, and Koushiro took over.
"For our next story, we're going live downtown to..." The newscast continued.
OOC: What kind of gun afficionado would ifre into the air? You need a gun safety campaign. ;)

Update on the Allanean Situation
As previous estimates have stated, the Independance Rallies in Allanea have not ceased, but increased and sparked repercussions across the globe in support for the complete independance of the Allanean state. Most governments have not actually spoken out on the issue itself, much of the opposition to the occupation being put down to civillian protests ranging from small to large in severity.
Whilst school-children in You are not logged in simply showed opposition to the Allanean occupation, much more severe events have unfolded in Ancient and Holy Terra, when protestors disrupted commune for approximately four hours in an attempt to show Allanean support. Only the Freethinker's government has spoken out against the occupation so far as known, attacking the Sentient methods of keeping Law and Order and naming them as 'violent'. Freethinkers leaders have also requested a timetable when the Sentient military plans to withdraw.
In the meantime, a minor protest was held at the gates of the Sentient embassy today, with the turnout estimated to only be at approximately 1 150 activists. Local police monitered the situation closely as to limit the amount of activity in the show, however the protesters remained peaceful and no arrests or warnings were made. One major group called AFAI, Austarians For Allanean Independance has been formed, and the government has been reported to be watching closely.
Austarians For Allanean Independance, with a membership base of approximately sixty-thousand has spoken to independant media officials stating;
"Although the major opinion of the Austar Union appears to be for the Sentient occupation of Allanea; some even for a permanant occupation; we are making a stand as representatives of the Allanean people. You have all seen images and clips of the oppression of the people, and if the Sentient government really wanted to ensure a peaceful operation, they would place the Allaneans first instead of oppressing their very free will.
We will be not seeking to undermine the occupation, but if it continues for much longer we increase our activity to protest against the Sentient Peoples operation."
The government has made no official public position on the situation which is escalating in the Haven region, however it has given some indication to be the same as the overwheming majority; for the occupation of Allanea. President Grove has been asked to comment, but refuses to make a public statement on the situation.

It has come to our attention that the Russian community of the Taraskovyan Federation, which makes up for 75% of the Federal population, is getting worried about the situation of their kind in Allanea. The Kaskad suggests that there could be a possibility that White Legion operatives may try to infiltrate Allanean territory. To avoid any possible ‘provocations’ and ‘conflicts’, the Taraskovyan Federation offers its assistance in the humanitarian relief effort and rebuilding effort in the territory of Allanea, as well as surveying the possible activity of the White Legion in the area. The Taraskovyan personnel would, of course, concentrate mainly on the Russian community.
Thank you for your attention.

Live Talk Show: Messy Haven.
The image shows the view a studio, with several people sitting behind a round table. With the public all around, several meters from the guests and the presenter. The latter, a young woman with a wide smile stuck to her face looks towards the camera.
- Hello and welcome to the talk show dedicated to the events in Allanea. I am Katherine Boltareva and our guests. Please meet, Professor Mejdunarodnikov of Vigvar’s Government University.
The image shows a rather old man who smiles to the camera and nods. His hear is already white and he is wearing spectacles. The public applauds.
- Then, Father Alexei of the Vigvar Patriarchate.
The camera shows a man in a black robe of an orthodox priest, with a large beard and a silver cross on the chest. The man nods slowly and with a lot of dignity. The public applauds yet again.
- Secretary Hlopchatov of the Press Secretariat of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
A young man in a suit waves to the camera under the applause from the public.
- Colonel Nerazgovorchiv of the Taraskovyan National Defense Forces.
A man in the uniform of a Colonel of the Ground Forces, a typical Russian ‘bear’ – high, well built, a beard – nods briefly to the camera under the applause of the public.
- And, finally, Voislav Nemirny, representative of the White Legion.
The young man does not even have the time to node as the side doors of the studio break open and several police officers storm in. The quickly stun Voislav and drag him away. Boltareva darts up from her chair and hurls upon one of the officers.
- How dare you! He’s a guest! Your actions are illegal! I will file a protest! You cannot simply enter and drag away a guest of mine like that! It is unacceptable! It is… unprofessional!
The officer looks at her.
- That man is under provisional detention for incitement to ethnic and religious hatred, recidivism, membership in a criminal organization.
- Lies! All lies! I demand that he be released on the spot!
- Do you want me to put you under detention for assault of law enforcement personnel, protection and harbouring of criminal elements and traitors? The Ruling Council has already enacted the appropriate provisionary laws…
The woman stops all of a sudden, thinks it over and returns to her place as happy as ever. White the police officers drag the unanimated body of Voislav out of the studio.
- Now, the topic of our debate today is the occupation of Allanea by the Federation of Sentient Peoples and the current latent escalation inside of Allanea as the people struggle for independence. At first, let us see a short report resuming the situation.
The image changes to show a map of Mars, then to the available footage of all that happened there with a commentary. The information given is totally neutral and does not favour any side. Then pictures of Allanea of then and now, commentaries. The image changes back to the studio.
Boltareva: My first question will be for Secretary Hlopchatov. Kiril Ivanovich, what is the official position of the Taraskovyan Federation on that matter?
Hlopchatov: The Taraskovyan Federation regrets the fact that military force had to be used to resolve the conflict opposing the nation of Allanea and a set of other nations and hopes for a rapid and peaceful resolution to the crisis.
B: Yes… but… what about the occupation?
H: The Taraskovyan Federation hopes for a rapid and peaceful resolution to the crisis.
B: Euh… good. Leonid Vladimirovich, how do you qualify the current crisis in Allanea?
Mejdunarodnikov: The crisis in Allanea is only a link in the logic chain of the long developing latent crisis that has been looming over Allanea for sometime now. If we examine Allanean foreign policy during the latest period, we can see a lot of warfare. Be it the conflict in Haven during which nuclear weapons were used or the latest conflict, Allanea seems to be a magnet for conflicts. The One Day War is the perfect example of a logic ending to a period of aggressive foreign policy led by a nation, which is comparable to a vase into which water drops drop by drop. Sometime or an other the vase is full and water flows outside. As we can see, the ones to have attacked Allanea are also nations that feature a history of warfare for one reason or an other. It would seem that both vases were filled at the exact moment when the One Day War happened and water flowed over in the shape of orbital bombardment ammunition that subdued the Allanean nation and forced it to surrender to the occupation…
Now, as of the most recent events in Allanea, it is only a logic consequence of the latest developments in that very same country. We have seen that the Federation of Sentient Peoples was not able to effectively restore the allanean infrastructure and the population was left to fend for itself. More than that, any appeals to independence or any ways of protests against the occupational authorities are reprimanded by the Federation in one way or another. There is thus a latent threat of the allanean situation escalating into an all out conflict that would include a struggle for independence from the people… However, if the Federation of Sentient Peoples is careful in its proceedings in occupied territories, there is a chance to solve the situation peacefully…
The old man smiles and the view returns to Ekaterina, whose eyes were already half closed and head bending forward slightly. The public behind her was not any better.
B: Well, thank you very much, Professor. Now, Colonel Nerazgovorchiv, how do you qualify the situation from the military point of view?
Nerazgovorchiv: Good for FSP. Bad for Allanea.
B: Euh… could you explicit please?
N: FSP has more means of attack on the ground than the Allanean opposition. Should any conflict erupt, FSP would most surely win.
B: Father Alexei, what is the stance of the Vigvar Patriarchate on the matter?
Alexei: The Church is very worried about the Russian communities in Allanea. We hope that the Federation of Sentient Peoples provides the people of Allanea with all they require.
B: Yes, with the latest events in Allanea, how would you qualify the situation of the Russian community of Allanea?
N: R triple D.
H: The Taraskovyan Federation hopes that all needs of the civil population are provided for and hopes for a rapid and peaceful solution to the crisis.
M: Well, you see, the Russians are known to be a very patient people. In other words, it is comparable to a really big vase that…
Sometime later.
… as such, it would only be a logic consequence of the latest events.
B: Yes, thank you professor. (My brains are surely fucked out now…]
M: You’re welcome. (What a smart and attentive girl!)
B: Now, a question to everybody… do you think that the Taraskovyan Federation would recognize and support Allanean independence at the expense of its relations with the Federation of Sentient Peoples? We all remember that Allanean special services were instrumental several decades ago in dealing with a group of terrorists that used to blow our kindergartens up and these horrible memories are still strong in the heads of many Taraskovyan citizens… After all, Allanean agents risked their lives to make our children safe and -

"Thank you all for coming," President Newman said as he sat in his chair at the head of the conference table, the conference room 5 stories below the streets of Freeport as part of a major underground tunnel network that was once used during the War for Independence. "The Allanean Question has now arisen, and there is no way for us to avoid it for much longer. If today's protests are any indicator, continued delay could cost my administration the election, if not spark violent outbursts."
"I couldn't agree more," the Minister of Diplomacy stated. "We could also request a timetable to Allanean independence, as well as request that UnAPS observers enter the former USA territories and conduct an evaluation. If the evaluation is less than favorable or met with difficulty, we'd have a platform on which to stand on when confronting the Sentient Peoples."
"I will press this issue to the UnAPS," The Secretary General of the UnAPS stated. "While those of us who still maintain, or did maintain, weak relations with Allanea after the war, did not like Allanea because of the Allanean/UnAPS War, they probably won't sit back and let Allanea become the victim of what we're against."
Before the General Staff could speak, Newman cut them off. "We'll ask for a timetable to Allanean independence and get the ball rolling for a UnAPS observer team to enter Allanea and Hestonia. Good day, everyone."

TO: Leader of the Sentient Peoples
FROM: President James Newman of The Island States
SUBJECT: Timetable to Allanean Independence
As a nation within the same vicinity as Allanea, we are disturbed by your methods of containing and suppressing Allanean protests. While we have never liked Allanea in the past, many of our citizens even wishing them to be divided and conquered, recent events have turned public opinion.
As a regional leader of Haven, I request a timetable to Allanean independence. If we see that the nation of Allanea will regain it's sovereignty, it's rights, and a fair and just government at some later date, the government of The Island States will maintain it's current status as a neutral party in this conflict. However, if the Sentient Peoples wish to continue this annexation of territory permanently, it will not be looked upon highly by The Island States and her allies.
We await your reply.

Announcement by the Knootian ministry of Foreign Affairs
“The DDR government is pleased that the Federated Commonwealth of Sentient Peoples has signed (http://s7.invisionfree.com/KIST/index.php?showtopic=6&st=48) the KIST treaty and that it will ratify all terms therein. Knootoss welcomes yet another extension of the reach of a stable institution which will help facilitate sustainable economic growth. The Federation has a powerhouse economy and we look forward to do business with them and we are sure this extension of markets will be welcomed by other nations also.
The Knootian government would also like to remind all current signatories to the treaty that the terms of the treaty extend to all the Federated Commonwealths, Dominions, and Colonies of the Federation of Sentient Peoples. This includes the terms specifying that signatories of the treaty “shall recognise each others borders and sovereignty insofar as these are internationally recognised.”
In this light, the DDR government feels that the surrender of the former USA constitutes a legally binding ground that constitutes Allanea as a dependent part of Sentient Peoples. The DDR abides by the terms of the treaty and continues to recognise Federation borders and sovereignty extending there.
From this position we strongly advise against recognition of Allanea as an independent entity by any signatory government as being a material breach of the treaty. Of course, recognition can be given when and if alternative arrangements are made regarding the status of Allanea by the sovereign Federation government who is the legal decision-maker in this matter. The DDR hopes that current escalations can be resolved quickly but feels it is an internal matter that is to be dealt with by the Federation.”
((S.P. will be making his own announcement later. This thread is moving quite rapidly though, so I thought I´d post now.))

Subject: reminder
I write to you again regarding a pressing matter which has just become more urgent. My recent letter (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=6853579&postcount=10) to you regarding Allanean members has unfortunately gone unanswered by yourself or any of your associates.
While I understand how busy you must be with your duties as Elentári a clarification of the Menelmacari position regarding Allanea and Kazansky is urgently requested in the light of recent escalations. With the rebellious Allaneans claiming Menelmacari support for their issue this has to be cleared up. I know you to be an honourable woman and as such, it is of course unnecessary to remind you of your ties to the Federation and of course obligations under the KIST treaty to recognise and respect standing borders. Unfortunately, the current ambiguity in the position of the Eternal Noldorin Empire is not taken in such good faith by some political opponents and as such clarification is desirable.
For my take on this, I refer to the unanswered personal letter which has been enclosed (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=6853579&postcount=10) with this one. I would love to share opinions.

In a resolution officially passed last night by the elected government of the United Republic of Fantasan, our government hereby authorizes the sale of military grade arms to the peoples of Allanea, and condemns any action that infringes on Allanea's national sovereignty, or would deny Allanea's citizens their right to keep and bear arms.
House Resolution vote: 597-92 in favor
Senate Resolution: 120-56 in favor
signed by President Howard L. Carr on 9/4/04
KNN World News
“In a related story, minister Hans van Mierlo has strongly condemned Fantasan infringement and incitement of rebellion in sovereign Federation territory as ‘typical NCA incompetence and aggressive posturing’. He said he was confident that any intrusion into Federation borders would be dealt with swiftly and offered the Federation its assistance in repressing violent incursions into its territories should they require it.”
(OOC: Did I completely miss the establishment of an independent Allanean government that you could sell these weapons to somewhere or is this just some OMG THEY LIEK GUNS T00! kind of post?))

A statement by the Prefect of State, Lord Túrelio nos Fingolfin. It's clear he's really pissed off.
Menelmacar has had it with the ABF (Allaneans for a Better Future). They have funneled reconstruction money to propaganda films, ordered assassinations, and now have apparently assumed they have the right to speak on behalf of the Menelmacari Prefecture of State. This is unacceptable.
Therefore, let us now, once and for all time, clarify our official stance. This comes direct from the Lady herself.
1. While the Eternal Noldorin Empire of Menelmacar believes Allaneans may one day earn their independence as the treaty with the Federation of Sentient Peoples stipulated, we do not believe the Allanean people have yet made any substantive move in that direction. Therefore, the Eternal Noldorin Empire of Menelmacar does NOT in any way, shape or form officially support any current move towards an Allanean independent state.
2. Some may believe this conflicts with policy towards the ABF up to this point. It does not. The Eternal Noldorin Empire of Menelmacar permits non-profit NGO's (non-government organizations) to operate in Menelmacar and ABF is such an organization. However, the leadership of ABF was warned that to operate in Menelmacar they would have to abide by Menelmacari law. It has become clear that they have no intention of doing so. There have been warnings. There have been discussions. We have let things slide. We have, in fact, gone to incredible lengths to be accommodating out of a desire to effect a resolution to this matter that was pleasing to both sides. Therefore, the following has become necessary.
3. The Eternal Noldorin Empire of Menelmacar hereby REVOKES any and all visas granted to personnel of Allaneans for a Better Future.
4. The Eternal Noldorin Empire of Menelmacar hereby REVOKES any and all weapons permits granted to personnel of Allaneans for a Better Future.
5. The Eternal Noldorin Empire of Menelmacar hereby REVOKES any and all other permits, licenses, grants, permissions, and other sundry official governmental-type documents-that-let-you-do-stuff it may have ever granted to Allaneans for a Better Future.
6. The Eternal Noldorin Empire of Menelmacar hereby FREEZES any and all assets, accounts, securities, or other financial arrangements held by the Allaneans for a Better Future within Menelmacari borders, banks, financial institutions, and brokerage houses. The freeze will remain in effect for the full duration of any pending investigation.
7. The Eternal Noldorin Empire of Menelmacar hereby IMPOUNDS any and all real estate, vehicles, equipment, furniture, or anything else that is or is not nailed down, held by ABF or any of its personnel. The impound will remain in effect for the full duration of any pending investigation.
8. What this means to Allaneans for a Better Future is this. They will, immediately, within ten minutes of this announcement, gather up all weapons covered by the permits granted them and they will surrender them to the nearest group of military personnel. The best way to do this without getting shot is to carry the weapons out in a duffel bag and be holding a white cloth of surrender above the head in the other hand. They will then, immediately submit to a full search of all ABF personnel and property and so help us Eru if there are any weapons that aren't covered by the permits it will not be pretty. Next, they will immediately proceed to Vinyatírion Gravport and book one-way passage out of the Eternal Noldorin Empire of Menelmacar. Yes, I know we just froze their accounts. Funds will be made available for this purpose.
In short, we are deeply dismayed that things reached this point. We have tried to work with ABF to arrange a future of truth and life for Allanea, and instead that organization has dealt only in lies and death. And in their arrogance, ABF believes it can now speak for the Menelmacari government. This will not be abided. Thusly, their welcome in the Noldorin Empire has expired.
Thank you all, I'll take questions now...

Vinyatírion,
Eternal Noldorin Empire of Menelmacar.
- Andrew Slanderov of the "Vigvar Today, Tomorrow, but not Yesterday" newspaper. My Lord, how does the decision to, lets put it shortly, 'put a clear end to all activities of the Allaneans for a Better Future in the Eternal Noldorin Empire of Menelmacar', inflict on the Menelmacari stance towards the Allanean corporations that have been cooperating with the Eternal Noldorin Empire on several issues, such as armament and military equipment?

"Excellent question, Mr. Slanderov. It is fortunate for the Allaneans that they paid for their storage requirements in advance, and that they paid enough for it to be covered for a very long time. Therefore, the Menelmacari government will cheerfully continue to draw on that account and store the Allanean arms cache for as long as the money lasts. As for any other corporate arrangements, we'll have to look at it on a case by case basis. Contracts negotiated independently of ABF will almost certainly continue to be honored by the Menelmacari government."

OOC: I don't think your sig was OOC in this case. Sigs tend to be an IC/OOC mix - mine for example has an IC component (the bit about Lady Siri and her various titles) and an OOC component (the Bush quote and the link). You were using your sig to make an IC point and thus it is quite IC. I've asked around and a good number of folks seem to agree. Menelmacari decision stands.
IC:
"The Federation of Sentient Peoples is technically the legal owner of the equipment and they are of course welcome to extend additional funds to cover storage costs at their convenience. In fact, we're willing to accept funds from just about anyone for this purpose, really. Money is money, after all. Perhaps the various nations supporting the ABF would like to contribute.
"At any rate, when the funds run out, we would give a reasonable grace period for the transfer of additional funds, at which point we would be forced to seize part or all of the cache in lieu of payment."
~Lord Túrelio nos Fingolfin

OOC: The sig is also annoying and misleading, since a few protests against mistreatment do not make for government support for Allanean independence at all. Great way to piss people off boyo.
That said, even without the sig siri has plenty of reasons to be pissed off.

"It is now clear the Allanean people desire independence. Despite... roadbumps... in the past, Allanea is on the same... road trip... we are. Ergo, the Boostei Administration has decided to introduce a referendum measure authorizing government support of peaceful Allanean protestors tomorrow. Their... automobile... needs a ... jump... and we will provide it to them."- Boots Macna, Feline Foreign Minister on the Sunday political talk show This 1/52nd of a Year with George Metropolis.
----------------------
Across the nation, protest rallies have sprung up in the great Feline tradition of May 1968-esque competing and nasty protest rallies between two entrenched factions.
The anti-Allaneans are led by a group, the "Heston City Guard," founded by a group of jingoistic isolationists and family members of the fallen soldiers in the Battle of Heston City.
The pro-Allaneans are led by a group established long ago for the promotion of democracy, "The Pericles Society."
They are holding large marches in all parts of all the arcologies, and have taken over many buildings on each side.
----------------------
With the song "People Got To Be Free" playing softly in the background, Frederick Revak, the leader of The Pericles Society, hopped up onto a hovering platform in the middle of a circular crowd, and began to speak.
"Friends, we are gathered here today to fight for freedom. Our freedom. You may be asking, 'How is supporting the independance of Allanea fighting for our freedom?'
That is the purpose of this speech. A great man, John F. Kennedy, once said, 'Freedom is indivisible, and when one man is enslaved, all are not free.' He was right. The Allanean people, despite their past crimes, do not deserved to be crushed under the imperialistic boot of other nations. The untold suffering done to a national psyche by foreign occupation is unacceptable, regardless of the nation, just as killing a man for his crime in unacceptable, regardless of the man.
It is unethical and indefensible to allow a nation to suffer, at odds with every single principle I hold, and that this nation holds. It is unethical and indefensible to allow Allanea to be enslaved.
It is the ultimate in greed to reserve the gift of Pericles, democracy, for only the few. It is the ultimate in hatred to deny a nation their rights based on their actions. It is the ultimate in ethical blindness to to assist Allanea.
I call upon all those who support our valorous cause to email their friends and co-workers, their loves and their acquaintances, and urge them to vote in favor of the bill proposed tomorrow.
Thank you, and let us all work for the cause of Democracy worldwide."
----------------------
On the other hand, Mary Enae led the other march, right across from the aformentioned one. She, too, was on a hover platform, but hers was at the front of the march as they both made it towards each other and the inevitable yelling of the front ranks at each other.
"Those murderous Allanean scum should recieve no help from us! Feline must stand tall, proud, and alone. We reject the notion that any sort of suffering the Allanean people are undergoing is not deserved many times over.
They killed many of our finest in the war. They had legal firearms, legal narcotics, and no environmental restrictions. And we are bailing these people, who supported that bullshit, out of the hole they gud for themself?
They voted in the Kazansky government, which repetitively did the exact same thing that is being done to Allanea right now. It is simple payback. Allanea must suffer through this occupation so the people will be mature enough not to occupy other countries again. It is common sense: you don't help your former enemies. You sit back and laugh when they cry and beg for assistance.
And that is what we must do: sit back and laugh at the pathetic Allaneans, finally biting off more than they can chew."
At the ABF headquarters
‘We need to leave. Now’
In perfect silence, hundreds of employees file down the stairs and lifts of the ABF headquarters, carrying tools, computers, and other equpment down to the last story of the basement, past the MIDF tank and gaping elven troops and into the maw of the stargate installed there.
Outside, several Allaneans went out of the building. They were handcuffed, and the woman walking in front of them was cuffed to a large duffel bag in addition.
To her shirt was pinned the following
This is an official message from Allaneans For A Better Future.
We are turning over Sheila Dolbanutaya, ex-Vice President of Allanea. Internal investigation points to the fact that she has been involved in the starting of the One Day War (President Kazansky was in Angband when Allanea landed on Mars, and in Menelmacar during the One-Day war proper). Please find proof attached in duffel bag. We would like her to be tried by the proper FSP and Liang authorities for causing the death of untold amounts of Allaneans and Dwarves.
Further, we provide proof that the ABF Congress – the authority related to the appropriation of ABF funds – did not at any time allow the transfer of funds to the filming of Mr. Demented’s latest film, in the form of a full record of all Congress minutiae. Cecil B. Demented is no longer a member of ABF or an employee of ANN or an employee of the Allanean Schooling Corporation Consider it an official filing of fraud charges.
Moreover, we are turning over certain Secretariat of Foreign Affairs Clerks who have willingly misrepresented Menelmacari opinion in their broadcasts. They are no longer members of ABF.
Further, President Kazansky is now on long vacation. Further note will be taken of his state in the future.

The troops stop the ABF folks at the stargate.
"Drop the equipment. According to section seven of the declaration by the Prefecture of State, it's under impound for investigation."
Outside, the folks being turned over to Menelmacar were, with some bemused looks exchanged between Inglorion and his troops, taken into custody.

Flag Officer’s Quarters, S.P.S. Capella, Flagship, First Fleet, Low Earth Orbit, Over the Federation Territory of Allanea
Farragut yawned tired as he switched off the news broadcast from the surface. I should’ve just ordered the launch, then we wouldn’t have to be putting up with this crap now. Oh well. Someone will always say I did the right thing. He grinned. And someone will always say I did the wrong thing.
The screen went to its standby mode as he shrugged out of his uniform jacket and tossed over his chair. As always, the sight of the First Fleet caught his eye.
Admittedly, it was really only First Task Force, Battle Fleet. Eighty vessels led by eight dreadnaughts. The other three Task Forces were on complimentary orbits. One was always overhead the Allanean Territories and another was always over the Federation Proper. It would take less then twenty minutes to concentrate them again into the full three hundred ship fighting force.
And that did not even count the firepower of the three battlestation-shipyards orbiting the planet. He had left orders. They would call him if anything broke. Time for bed.
Dealing with Protests, The Federation Territory of Allanea
Major Benning got a rude surprise. Guards never came to collect his bucket, or his food trays. And by filling the bucket with the mucked up uniform, he was running a bit low on space for his own crap.
What Benning had no way of knowing was that the bucket would dissolve and absorb his waste products on its own, but it could not do the same to the prison uniform. And as for the food trays and water bottles… a military man might start building a fort, just to keep from losing his mind.
* * * * *
The Veterans of Foreign Wars, of course, found themselves waking up in similar situations to Major Benning, naked in a cool cell. If they tried hard, they might even remember being cut down by crowd controlling stunner beams.
* * * * *
For some odd reason, the Federation Flag at Wayne Lapierre High School was not made out of the non-flamable nano-fabrics so common in the Federation. Every other flag in the country was, and would not burn, no matter what the Allaneans tried to light it with.
The ex-Allanea flag was merely removed and destroyed with all the broken glass.
OOC: That was just dumb. Why would I put flags in country that you could burn?
Conference Room, Imperial House, Griffin, Commonwealth of Sentient Peoples, FSP
The Imperial President scowled at his people, the Executive Council. It was in fact, a full Council session, the first there had ever been with everyone in attendance.
All seventeen council members, plus Ambassadors Reynolds and Humprey were in attendance. This did not include the President himself. Admittedly, technically the room only held one person, with everyone else attending by holocomm.
“Alright, Minister Ranwell, you’re in charge here. Talk to me about Allanea.”
This was her first Council meeting. “Very well, Mister President. The protests are becoming a problem and we’re falling behind on them.”
D’ron gestured, opening the floor up to suggestions and comments. Rebecca Cameron immediately spoke up. “What are the problems?”
“Well, first we’ve go the passive resistance, kids screwing up their schools and such, the rallies calling for us to leave. Then we’ve got active, criminal resistance. Tax evasion, truancy, public display of illegal regalia, and of course, the people burning themselves.”
Rebecca blanched slightly at that, and shook her head slightly. D’ron only smiled slightly. “You’re doing a good job with dealing with the tax evasion and truancy issues. If the families run out of finable materials, eventually you’re going to have a problem. At that point, you’re going to have to arrest the parents and send the children back to school.”
“We’ll end up with a lot of arrested parents that way. More than we’ve got the ability to handle.”
“Put them on ice,” Bruce spoke up from the other end of the table. Heads turned to face him, questioningly. “We’ve got the ability. If they run out of assets to seize, just put them in cold storage for a month or two.”
D’ron smiled. Leave it to Bruce to come up with a solution like that. “I’m not sure that’s really feasible, Bruce.”
“No, Mister President,” Minister Ranwell broke in, “it might work. Basically, we tell the parents that they either send their children to school properly and get to raise them however they choose at home, or we deny them the ability to raise their children at home.”
D’ron nodded. “And what happens when we get around to putting the entire Allanean adult population on ice?”
“Uh, that wouldn’t be good, Mister President.”
“No, you’re right, it wouldn’t be. Arthur, economically, what happens?”
The Minister of Commerce flipped through his invisible computer screen. “Well, it looks like this. It’ll cost us approximately forty billion a year to keep the entire adult population in cold stasis. But that’ll require a large amount of storage space, probably to the tune of another twenty or so billion a year.”
D’ron nodded. “That’s pretty cheap. Could we force them all into doing it?” His tone is joking. “I know we can’t. But damn it. Alright, what else is there?”
Normally silent Minister Lee spoke up. “The people burning themselves.”
“Right.” D’ron’s face fell. “We allow them to suicide, and hell, we allow assisted suicide. It’s perfectly legal.”
Justice Minister O’Connell spoke up. “It is not. They’re misusing a rationed resource under Martial Law. They’re endangering the public safety with explosive chemicals in public areas. Further, assisted suicide requires all sorts of forms to be filled out. We take them down.”
D’ron nodded. “Can it be done? John? Cortana? Belinda?”
The three nodded. “I think so,” Cortana replied. “It would be a matter of precisely instructing the Sec-2’s, but they ought to be able to handle it. Simply stun anyone who looks like they’re about to burn themselves, and stun anyone who tries to burn them for them.”
D’ron nodded. “Order the redeployment and reordering of the Sec-2’s along those lines.” He took a deep breath. “What about the international situation, ‘Nathan?”
Minister Currey sighed. “We’ve got repeated requests for a time table for Allanean Independence.”
D’ron snarled. “Tell them to go fuck themselves, and their little dogs to.”
Currey blanched. D’ron was usually much more diplomatic than that. “In those words, sir?”
The President smiled. “Words are your job, ‘Nathan. Policy is mine.” The International Relations Minister nodded. D’ron turned to Cortana. “What’s ID say about possible international support?”
“It’s growing slowly, and I predict that very soon we might have to defend Allanea against aggressive actions taken in support of Allanean independence.” Cortana’s perfectly formed purple lips moved in perfect symmetry as she spoke.
D’ron sighed softly, resting his head in his hands. “Order the Space Forces to a stage two alert status for an orbital intervention. We don’t have the conventional forces to oppose them in the atmosphere, if it comes to that.” He looked up. “John, what’s your estimate on what would happen if we pulled out of Allanea tomorrow?”
The Minister of War smiled from the end of the table. “Tomorrow? Within a month, Edolia and UnAPS take Atlantic Island and Hestonia. Within two months, Allanea is returned to Iron Age technology or lower. Within three, it’s split into multiple occupation zones as the ‘enlightened democracies and social experiments try to duke it out over the broken territories. Within five years, Allanea will either be a smoking pit orcs would shun or involved in a bloody, multi front war. Predicted dead if we pulled out tomorrow? Three-quarters of a billion people.”
That sobered the meeting up right quick.

The Federation of Sentient Peoples will not tolerate interference in our internal affairs. The Federation Territory of Allanea is sovereign Federation territory, and as such, its affairs are internal to the Federation. At such time as we decide to grant Allanean Independence, as guaranteed under the terms of their surrender, it will be granted. Not before. There will be no timetables, or anything of the sort which implies we will be unable to operate at our fullest discretion in this matter.
Furthermore, those nations which have companies wishing to invest in the rebuilding of Allanea must make sure those companies go through the proper channels, meaning, through the Office of Allanean Economic Concerns, part of the Territorial Affairs Directorate. Attempts to intervene without this approval will result in property being seized.

<RE: Reconstruction Opportunities>
Honored President Smith, of the Federation of Sentient Peoples,
As you may be aware, The Republic of Ancient Terra does not share the views of some other UnAPS nations in regards to this Allanean matter. We have nothing but the greatest appreciation towards you for eliminating the Allanean threat.
As you are also aware, however, we have had some...problems...with dissent in this great nation. Portions of Western Terra has supported Allanea for several years, and now that reports of abuses (false, I am sure) have emerged, these dissidents are seizing on any opportunity to cast the liberation of Allanea, and my Congress (who, as you know, authorized the transfer of over 100 billion dollars to the coalition which broke Allanea) in a bad light. As you may know, this year is a key election year for my government, and if my party is to retain its overwhelming majority in Congress, I need to do something to pacify the dissidents quickly. Already there have indications that the Allanean issue is hurting my party in the polls.
This brings me to my point: I am wondering if it would be possible to secure construction contracts in Allanea for Terran construction firms. Such an immense undertaking would surely boost employment and profits in Ancient Terra, quieting the opposition and convincing the 'undecideds' to settle down. I am certain that Allanea would benefit as well. Please tell me if such a proposition is feasible.
Best regards,

The Freethinkers

Government House, Navarre, The Freethinkers
There were five people sitting around the table, all staring at the holographic screen at its centre. The only light in the room was cast by the slowly setting sun coming in through the open doors that led to the palace’s balcony overlooking the promenade outside. The golden light reflected off the polished surfaces and furnishings, giving the impression of surrounding the dark figures in exaggerated splendour.
The first voice to break the silence was that of Theodor Barham. His eyes moved from the holographic display with the Sentient Peoples messaging scrolling down on it and coughed slightly to attract everyone else’s attention. Everyone turned to him.
“So, Mr Matthews, could you translate the language from diplomatic to English for us?” He asked, looking at the tall, slight man to his left, the Foreign Minister.
“Basically sir, it’s a nicely worded fuck you, if I read it correctly. The usual reinforcement of intent coupled with no meaningful information. Pretty standard really.” Barham nodded, then turned to the two figures on his right, Admiral Alicia Kitteral, the military liaison, and Jacob Barley, the Minister of the Interior. Both looked exhausted but determination was still peering out of their eyes,
“Well, no timetable then, what a surprise…well, what do you take it to mean Barley?”
“Well,” Barley responded “in my own humble opinion, I think it belies two things that we have always suspected. One is that they are deeply annoyed that anyone could question them on their gross civil rights violations, and secondly I think it shows they haven’t a fucking clue what they are doing.”
“Care to explain?”
Kitteral answered, leaning forward as she did. “Basically all their actions indicate they have been reactive to the Allaneans actions, simply employing more hard force to counter what should have been anticipated with regards to the Allanean population. The Allaneans are well known to be…how I can describe it….’independent’ at heart, so to speak, we knew that this was going to happen. It appears that the Sentient Peoples either don’t have a clue what to do except for reacting as best they can, which is bad, or, even worse, they plan on staying for a very long time, even permanently. As bad as Allanea was, a nation which feels the need to dump hundreds of people into degrading solitary confinement for merely protesting is not so much better in my eyes.”
Barham looked from her to everyone else; who in turn were all looking back and forth searching in their companions’ faces what they thought of what Kitteral said. Many face showed passive agreement. Barham spoke again, this time more animatedly.
“Well, they are both possibilities I suppose, but I'm also getting reports that they think we, or more specifically, the whole group of nations who have expressed concern about their actions, might actually get involved militarily? What the hell?”
“I guess its just paranoia on their part,” answered Matthews. “We are in no capacity to threaten them militarily even if we wanted to. I mean, as Kitteral will quite happily inform you, whilst we may be able to knock down lumps of pig iron and engage lower altitude ships with our heavier railgun emplacements, we would end up like Allanea pretty much soon enough. Of course, I'm worried about the effect of incestuous amplification within their decision making bodies. If enough of them get that stupid idea then we could find ourselves slipping off this very fine line we find ourselves on.”
“So where would they get the idea we were planning on invading from?”
“If we discard the laughable idea of an actual planned UnAPS invasion, it could be that there are powers outside of UnAPS that do have ambitions to ‘liberate’ Allanea in the near future, I mean, we don’t have up to date files on every nation involved in this incident and quite frankly it’s a possibility we need to look into.”
“Or…” Kitteral interrupted, “there is the possibility of them just being extremely stupid. Its something we never truly rule out…” Barham raised an eyebrow, “….well, I suppose we could rule it out.” She returned Barham’s gaze before they both turned to look at Clodius, the last figure, sitting in the dark and making a gesture he was about to speak.
“Maybe…maybe they want us, the Union, to strike them, maybe that is what they are trying to make us do…put the idea into our heads, set the ball rolling, so to speak.” Barham raised both eyebrows. Clodius continued, his fangs now showing.
“From what I can tell the invasion might just be thinly disguised imperialism, I mean, their ability to actually handle the Allanean dissent is poor as we discussed and it seems to be a lesser priority for them. They don’t seem to want to head towards independence for Allanea and that makes me wonder if the occupation is just temporary.”
“Go on” muttered Kitteral. Barham and the rest merely watch Clodius carefully. The vampire moved forward slightly, his voice getting quieter and tenser.
“If we attack them, they will easily overpower us and take us under their influence….same with the Island States and everyone else they’re trying to provoke. Another, four, five, six, who knows, possibly dozens of billions of people under their control. I mean, it’s always a possibility. Judging by their actions so far and the significant over-response they have characterised themselves by it wouldn’t be unpredictable. And if we attack them, throw the first punch as it were, then our allies would abandoned us and leave us open to attack.”
“Clodius, I respect you as a friend and advisor, but seriously, come on. On that note though, “he turned to Kitteral, “there aren’t any plans to attack the occupiers in Allanea, is there?”
“Nothing of note sir, and what battle plans we do have go back to responding to further Allanean aggression after the Axackali war. Nothing since then, and I can safely assure you sir, that as our admiralty has been placed in charge of UnAPS naval operations, which would mean us being responsible or partially responsible for 90% of the forces used in an invasion, we have no plans whatsoever for any intervention into Allanea. Simple as that. Nothing whatsoever.” Barham nodded and stood up, turning to address everyone present.
“Good, because I wouldn’t want any such plans to surface and bite me on the arse in the future. Our position regarding Allanea is on a knife-edge. We support, support strongly, the Sentient Peoples in terms of policy and wish to help them rebuild the country. But thinking to the medium and long term when Allanea is independent, we also have to make sure we have peace with the future government in Port Allanea. Keeping both sides and our people happy is a very fine line to follow. Now, I don’t wish to see a permanently occupied Allanea, but I also don’t intend to see Kazansky back in power. Ever. Keep that all in mind. We meet again tomorrow. Dismissed.”
OOC Disclaimer: The above piece was entirely IC and any opinions and thoughts expressed are IC and IC only.
OOC: I hope no-one hates me for being supportive (secretly) of Allanea. The companies in my last post should have made applications along the correct channels, so, thats all the response Im expecting so far. :)

Führer calls press conferance on situation in Allanea
The Iraqstani flag, flashes accross the screens briefly before switching to an image of Carlos standing on a podium outside the ministry for foreign relations. Behind him stands Minister Muhammed Saeed Al-Sahaf, and Reich General Lidric Quil'Raya.
Clearing his throat Carlos begins to speak. "Today my fellow Iraqstanis we have witnessed the wrongness of the liberators. Today we have witnessed the evil that is our foes. You have seen on your televisions and holo-screens the recent incursions by imperialist forces against the sovreign nation of Allanea.
You have seen the utter chaos with which these monsters have plunged a socialy stable nation into. People setting themselves alight whilst others are yet attacked for using their so called freedom of speech. A government, of infidels has taken control of a rightful nation and turned them into mere scrabblers and peasants.
The evil I speak of is the occupation forces in Allanea, those that say they are safe guarding the nation until they can govern themselves once more. I tell you this, the nations involved in safe guarding are doing nothing but causing chaos! They deliberately incite the masses by restricting their voices! The true owners of the nation have cried out their protest and in an evil mockery of that voice the oppressing villians have crushed them under the heels of an iron will!
The so called federation of Sentient People's is nothing more than petty war mongers who seek to obliterate all those that stand as pinnacles of nationalism! They seek to crush those under their heels that would prove to extend the arc of the patriotic into the realms of other planets!
These dictatorial invaders are seeing the might of the loyal to their nation stand up and they squash them beneath their evil wills. This cannot be supported! I urge the international community. Stand up for what is right! The nation of Allanea has long been recognised as a sovreign nation unto itself, and the imperialists of the world have sought to destroy that nation time and time again. The threatened have risen up and finnaly crushed a sovreign nation with cowardly tactics!
I urge all allaneans to rise up and resist your tormentors! Show them just how far you are willign to go for your country! The support of the people is behind you! I call for the president, to take back the reins of leadership of your nation! Call the rebellion! Resist the evil that is the federation and win back your lands!
Iraqstan stands opposing the evil that is the Federation and we will continue to recognise nobody but the allaneans as rightful rulers of their country! The federation claims you are not yet responsible enough to rule your own country, yet they are proving they are not fit to rule in your steed!
Take up the call to rebellion, resist with all your might and return your country to the rightful owners. Make the things you leave your children be a land free of foreign oppression! I can hear the doubt many of you in the world are thinking, why why would a known nationalist and openly offensive leader stand and protest the treatment of another nation? I answer with this, in this world Iraqstan recognises few as true nations and honoured foreigners. In this list, Allanea does rest. We speak openly about our allies and we speak violently about our enemies. Of Allanea we hold respect, a respect that has grown in the face of these imperialist evils!
The world should take notice of the violent upheavals taking place whilst the federation do nothing! Call for them to leave and watch as the civil unrest ends! Call them to let go their arrogent beliefs and return the rightful Sovereignty to the nation of Allanea!" Turning to the camera Carlos unfolds an Allanean flag and with the help of the minister and general, raises it slowly to half mast atop the ministry's flag pole. Turning to face the flag once more he salutes it differently to the standard Iraqstani salute and then leaves amid a torrent of camera flashes.

Seating himself in his chair, Carlos looks out the window of his office and down the streets of Sirithilia. Sighing he looks over at the man seated infront of him and smiles. "I take it you are preparing your men to contact the apropriate nations to gain access to Allanea?" Nodding the man leans forward, his face slowly revealed.
Smiling softly the man begins to speak. "Yes sir, we're going to infiltrate over land since it'll be easier. Air is out of the question due to the imperialist dogs cowering behind air defenses, their stupidity how ever is their weakness. An incursion through a neighbouring nation once we gain permission will be simple.
From there my cell will head for the capital and begin making contacts with nationalist protestors. From there we will begin planning and executing our missions to remove the threat from Allanea." Smiling Carlos leans back and nods to the man. "Very well, General. Gather your men and begin making contact with the nations bordering the target nation. You are free to leave when you wish." Standing up the man salutes Carlos in the typical Iraqstani fashion, arm stretched out before him and turns sharply before leaving.
Looking back out the window Carlos rubs his left hand absently over the arm of his chair before closing the blinds and leaving his office....
OOC: Yeah, obviously there's going to be a group of foreign nationals in Allanea but the twist is they wont be directly from Iraqstan, I'll leave it all up to you lot to figure out. I'll probably use the nation I originaly planned to use for other things for this. For now though Iraqstan supports the Allanean independant movement thingy :P

"Exactly the kind of response I'd of given if I were in their shoes," President Newman said as he put down the Sentient Peoples' response.
"It's obvious we're going to have to coordinate with our allies who are on the same page as us, the UnAPS is rather divided over sending observers from the alliance to check out Allanean territories," The UnAPS Secretary General stated. Rain started to come down on the capital, a tropical disturbance was making it's way into the Southern Haven Strait to die, a common occurance for this time of year.
"I guess we're running low on options," Newman said as he sat back in his desk. "Get a hold of your contacts in Freethinkers, see what they're up to."

D’ron looked up from the construction update he was reading as the holodisplay blinked to life with the image of ‘Nathan Currey, Minister of International Relations. He frowned, for his ministers rarely interrupted him by holo without at least comming first. Which meant this was serious.
“What is it, ‘Nathan?”
The IRD Minister breathed out slowly. “We’ve got a major problem. Remember how we were discussing possibilities of someone going to war with us to free Allanea at the Council Meeting yesterday?”
D’ron nodded, quickly coming to the conclusion that was being implied. “Who?”
“Greater Prussia. I’m transmitting their message on Red Channel now.”
D’ron looked down as the text began to appear on his desk.
Good day,
I come to you on behalf of the Greater Prussian Empire and his Majesty Emperor Rev.Dr. Ian R.K. Paisley. The Empire has noted your incursion into its territory, namely the country of Allanea. If the Empire hadn't known of Allanea's past actions this would have been immediately retaliated against.* However, we understand your issues with Allanea. But now you must understand ours. Allanea is legally a part of the Greater Prussian Empire and subject to its crown. This occupation of its land is seen as an act of War by his Majesty and the entire Imperial Government.
We are aware of your past noble deeds and the actions you have taken around the world. It is this respect which we have for your nation, and the due knowledge of Allaneas past transgressions, which stays our sword for the moment. We give you the opportunity to withdraw entirely from Allanea without any aggression or loss of life. In exchange for this, we have spoken with Allanea and will forcibly put in place sweeping reforms. Allanea has also reconciled his differances with many enemies upon my orders and is doing a great deal towards returning to a good status. We hope that you see and understand the situation as it is. However, if you choose not to withdraw completely in a timely fashion, something that we have been most gracious to allow, we will not hesitate to retaliate with the full strength of the Empire, and should it necessitate it, to call on others.
I am aware of your abilites and possessions and technologies...I hope you also would be aware of mine. War between us would be catastrophic for both sides and a senseless bloodshed. Let us protect BOTH of our peoples, withdraw so that we can avoid senseless conflict.

D’ron barked a short laugh, then pressed a few buttons on his desk. Immediately, Cortana’s image blinked to life, and a few moments later, so did Bruce Reynolds and John-117.
“You should all have the message we’ve received from Greater Prussia in front of you now. I want opinions and options.”
Cortana was the first to respond, easily being the fastest reader present. “They’re direct, that’s for sure.”
Bruce spoke a moment later. “Their logic has a problem.”
D’ron blinked. “What do you mean?”
Bruce smiled happily. “Well, we can look at this two ways. First, Greater Prussia’s sovereignty over Allanea is true. That means a couple of things. Firstly, Greater Prussia, not Allanea, is ultimately responsible for the Allanean incursion on Mars. Secondly, it would render the Allanean surrender to both us and the Queendom of Zero-One invalid, as a non-sovereign Allanean state cannot sign a treaty of that magnitude. Which conveniently places us and Zero-One in a state of war with Greater Prussia, and indirectly, with the entire Metus Alliance.” Bruce’s smile disappeared. “I suppose this would not be a good thing.”
D’ron frowned. “Definitely not, Bruce. What’s the other way to look at it?”
Bruce nodded. “Well, the other way to look at it makes more sense to me. Firstly, Allanea was independent. Their actions and Greater Prussia’s lack of action over the last year certainly reinforce this point of view. I would guess they just want to fight someone, and this is how they’re attempting to justify it. Poorly, I might add.”
D’ron snorted. “Alright. John, talk to me about force postures.”
The former warrior, now Minister of War, snorted. “We can take them easily. I don’t think they could get anyone within twenty kilometers of the coast of either FTA or Dor Lomin.” Raising his eyebrows, the Imperial President asked for clarification. John gave it. “Basically, we can destroy everything they own from space, unless Metus were to intervene. With their space forces, they could seriously alter the balance in the conflict.”
Cortana smiled at that. “I doubt Metus would intervene, not in any significant way. Lord Morgoth has repeatedly failed to intervene in situations like this, where intervention would add no discernable strength or presence to himself or his alliance. It seems unlikely that he would commit the weight of Metus to save a destroyed, pretty much worthless nation.”
D’ron nodded. “Alright, I certainly agree with that assessment.” He turned back to the first person to be in contact with him. “’Nathan, I want you to write the response. Be polite, but not too polite. Offer negotiations, but remember we are operating from a position of strength here. We have what they want and they cannot take it from us.”
Minister Currey nods his bearded head. “Will do, Mister President.”
Eyes shifting first, D’ron directed his attention to Bruce. “Send informational copies of this notice from Greater Prussia to all our allies and inform them we are going to attempt a peaceful resolution. Also fire off a copy to the Queendom. They might decide to help us if it came to war, though I doubt it. They did wash their hands of Allanea.”
Bruce nodded. “Will do, sir.”
D’ron nodded. “Let’s get to it, people.” The holograms blinked out, and the following letter arrived in the capital of Greater Prussia by diplomatic transport by the end of the day, in a parchment envelope, sealed with the Great Seal of the Federation. Furthermore, once it was confirmed that the Emperor had indeed received the letter a few days later, hopefully following the Emperor’s response, the text of both missives would be leaked to the press.
Emperor Paisley,
This is most unexpected, sir, and thank you for informing us of our terrible oversight in this matter. We had been under the impression, that despite the name, Greater Prussia was nothing more than another multi-lateral alliance of sovereign nations, especially considering the independence of Allanean actions prior to our involvement with them.
Essentially, the Allanean actions prior to now, unless you wish to claim true responsibility for them, indicate that while you might have had de jure sovereignty over Allanea, you did not in fact have any control over their actions. Since you do not appear in any way responsible for Allanean actions, especially those violent, inflammatory actions on Mars which resulted in this conflict, I would suggest that your claims of sovereignty are moot in that Allanea was functioning as an independent country. If you cannot control your ‘subjects,’ I would respectfully submit that they are no longer your subjects.
Further, we are willing to treat Allanea as territory to be returned, though we would indeed expect certain conditions to be met, for it was never our plan to keep the Allanean Territory indefinitely, and always planned to return their independence to them in a timely fashion, when we concluded they were indeed ready and able to live with it, peacefully coexisting in this world, a task they seem completely unprepared to do at the present time.
Since you have seen fit to speak with ‘Allanea,’ I must assume that by this you mean one Alexander Kazansky and his band of Allaneans for a Better Future (as there is currently no ‘Allanea’ as such to hold such discussions with), a non-government organization that is composed of people who were formerly in the government of Allanea, when it was indeed acting as a sovereign country. I must inform you that Kazansky was receiving large influxes of money into his programs, money which, even with the help of our many allies, we have been unable to trace down completely. I am concerned that he might have been using his personal position within the Imperial Government to assist his organization with Imperial Funds in an attempt to return to his position of power in his own personal kingdom.. I respectfully recommend that you look into this possibility.
Furthermore, if you are willing to provide evidence of your legal sovereignty, and demonstrate these changes you claim to be willing to enforce. Before we are willing to surrender Allanea to your guardianship, we must see evidence that your policies will lead the nation rather than those of the crazed lunatics who made up the previous Allanean Government. Further, we must see in the Allanean population the elements of change and regret that you claim to be present concerning the terrible consequences of their past actions. We must have acknowledgement of the good the Federation has done over the past year for their nation, how we helped them to rebuild. Also, full recompense for the losses in occupying and pacifying your province in which you were unable to maintain order must be given. We must see visible results from former President Kazansky’s efforts to rebuild broken bridges between those he and his nation injured in their foolish romp through the world attempting to be an influencing force.
We invite whatever representatives you choose to send for further discussion of the future of the Allanean Territory to Griffin for talks, as we have no desire for war, having seen the disastrous results far too clearly time and time again in our own history, fought with weapons far less devastating than those currently in our possession.

Presidential Office
Anatoba City
Frowning, the President doubted the situation further as pressure mounted against the Sentient government; particularly the office presiding over Allanean territories. It was growing quite fast, and although he suspected some involvement from Iraqstan would come, he never truly believed that it would manifest into action. And although no real action had been noticed yet, he suspected that some would follow, especially after such a passionate speech against what was called the 'Sentient Opressors'.
Already, there was some credible intelligence that Greater Prussia intended an attempt to 'free' Allanea from the occupation forces, and now with the announcement from Carlos, the dictator of Iraqstan, he grew doubtful that the Sentient military was truly as capable as their commanders believed; not against all this. The Austar Union had once been involved with Greater Prussia, but left after realising they were little more than puppets of Metus, and eventually Melkor himself. Luckily, there had been little repercussions for the bold move, when he had declared that the Austar Union would no longer be a puppet of Melkor.
It was unfortunate that the nation's former allies would be getting in against the Sentient military, and as much as the Sentient commanders believed they could handle the opposing forces, Edward doubted this very much. Yes, the orbital cannons could be used; if the situation warrented. But surely most wouldnt take kindly if a nation was to literally destroy its enemies, every enemy it had. The only solution to this problem was if the Sentient leaders were able to reach a comprimise with Greater Prussia, or if they could manage to hold back a multi-national force while trying to hold control in possibly rioting cities.
It was a near impossible situation. If the Allaneans decided to stage a nation-wide riot against the occupation forces, the Sentient commanders would know that they couldnt fire on civillians. At the same time, they would not be able to handle at least a billion people. Much damage would be done, but there would be very little the occupuation forces could do except withdraw. And with the forces from pro-Allanean nations closing in from behind, it would add some pressure for Sentients to do this quickly, lest they would be trapped and forced into a situation of surrender.
It seemed that the Sentients had refused Austarian assistance, so the President was relucted to assist the occupation forces. As much as he would want to support occupation forces, he wasnt prepared to send his own soldiers into a situation which seemed suicidal. Though, he could at least attempt a reduction in conflict, which would at least save lives. Sometimes a voice from a neutral third party could assist the situation before it escalated into open conflict which would cost literally millions of lives. So turning on his computer, he began to pace about the room, dictating a message to all nations involved.
----------------------------------------
<Open Transmission>
TO: All Nations Involved In The 'Allanean Situation'
FROM: President Edward Grove, The Federal Republic of Austar Union
SUBJECT: Invitation to Anatoba City; Discussion on Circumstances
----------------------------------------
As we are not a large nation, we can easily understand if those involved do not wish to meet in Anatoba City, our nation's capital, to discuss the merits of what we have personally termed as the 'Allanean Situation'. However this is a call from a responsible member of the global and universal community, in hopes that an open conflict will not break out, and that a joint comprimise and resolution can be reached regarding the occupation forces located in the former United States of Allanea.
Therefore, in hopes of achieving such goals as reduced conflict and reduced loss of death, we are inviting representatives from nations who are involved in this conflict to attend a neutral meeting in Anatoba City, so that we may all discuss the situation on equal footing. These nations include; Sentient Peoples, an Allanean to represent their people, Iraqstan, Zero-One, States of Greater Prussia, The Island States, Menelmacar, and any other nations who are interested in attending. We will of course be evaluating each nation's credibility and qualification to attend this meeting on a case-by-case basis. We do request however that an Allanean representative be allowed to send, as they do represent a major faction in this conflict, even if most do not recognise them as seperate.
Security will be provided at the utmost maximum, and each delegate will be welcome to bring two un-armed security personell with them. They will be given a place to stay for the duration of the meeting, and the venue will be under a state of 'lock-down' for the duration of the meeting as a security precaution. Please think of the children of this conflict, for they are the true ones affected by our own desisions. If you are truly committed to a peaceful resolution, then you will attend this meeting with confidence of a joint decision.
Yours Truly,
President Edward Grove
The Federal Republic of Austar Union
Sending the message off to all members of the conflict, the god-fearing man prayed to the heavens above. This would likely be one of the few last attempts at peace before all hell broke loose in Allanea, and if it truly came to that stage, millions of lives would be lost, and trillions of dollars of damage would be created. These would be only the immediate effects, and the ever-lasting effects of a war on this scale would be peoples lives shattered for generations to come. Peace, and those who attempt to preserve it must prevail.

OOC:
Admittedly, it was really only First Task Force, Battle Fleet. Eighty vessels led by eight dreadnaughts. The other three Task Forces were on complimentary orbits. One was always overhead the Allanean Territories and another was always over the Federation Proper. It would take less then twenty minutes to concentrate them again into the full three hundred ship fighting force.
And that did not even count the firepower of the three battlestation-shipyards orbiting the planet. He had left orders. They would call him if anything broke. Time for bed.
IC:
The crowd roared. Two hundred thousand people at the very least, thought Eric as he grabbed the microphone. Two hundred thousand people in Port-Allanea alone. And, according to the ANN estimate, about one million, four hundred thousand people around the nation.
Then, he started speaking:
’Good day, subjects!’
The crowd paused.
’That’s right! Subjects! Because you lot are not even worthy to be called citizens! Look at you! We live in a nation where the population is, what, almost three billion people? And I hear that only about million are in those rallies! A million!
What the hell is wrong with this country? People, this is not about some jerk’s pension! This is about your freedom! Have you already forgotten already about your grandfathers and the wars they fought for freedom? About your rights?
Let me tell you this, people: if you go home tonight, and you don’t do something about the dumb federal dogs, you are no citizens. Nor are you any countrymen of mine. Then you will truly have become what the Feds want you to be: subjects of the Federation of Sentient peoples. Want to be that?
An angry roar from the crowd. ‘Hell no!’ screams out an old man.
Right then! Go and do something about it. You know about how they treated major Bennet. You know how they treat protestors. Don’t stand silent! Do something about it!
The speech is broadcasted by radio and television to every home in Allanea. Several hours after the speech, more protests ensue.
Several Allanean citizens, wearing full-body Mark III Raysian armour (military surplus from better days) throw more eggs and paint at Federal officials in Port-Allanea, then flee, unhindered by the low-powered stun beams.
The flag at the Wayne LaPierre High School suffers again. This time, the pole on which it stands is simply pulled down by a tractor. The owner of the tractor, one Mr. George Keyes, attempts to use it to escape.
In LibertyVille, Atlantic Island, ten members of the Temple of The Dark cult lock themselves in a small shack and set it on fire in protest of the ‘illegal occupation of Allanea by Federal Infidels’. Before any Sec-2 robots arrive at the scene, they are all dead.
Around the country, a large amount of ex-military personnel are seen wearing their medals and other insignia. According to ANN broadcasts, they amount to twenty thousand people, and their number is growing by the hour.
About 1,500 households have switched to using the Freethinker-made solar panel systems, many on and ideological basis.
And on the main runway of the Port Allanea International Airport, someone has painted in large, ten-meter-tall letters, the single word FREEDOM.

"Recompensation?" Emperor Paisley threw the paper down on the desk in disgust. "Ha."
"Your Highness, this does suggest a larger problem..." Count von Oberhausen began. "You remember why the Holy Roman Empire fell? Because of the lack of centralized Power."
"And Napoleon..."Paisley chuckled.
"Yes..." Oberhausen sleemed slightly annoyed at Paisley's tendency to state the obvious. "But there was also alot of infighting, and nations acting independantly from the crown. It has been a policy to allow freedom of action on a large scale since the foundation of the Empire...I think perhaps it is time to put an end to that."
"Your efforts over the past year or two to centralize power in the Crown have been effective..." General Thibault, Military Advisor to the crown chimed in, "we've reduced the Estates General to an advisory body and 90% of the armed forces are the Imperial Guard, swearing a personal oath of loyalty to you...I think it is time we use that lever to secure Greater Prussia and preserve it for generations to come by clamping down on these rogue states and actions."
"Way ahead of you." Paisley smiled and threw a folder on the table. Inside it had a map of Allanea, future bases of the Guard, and future rulers of the Provinces. "The best way to ensure the stability of Allanea and to ensure her freedom is give her a strong stable government to transition into...the Imperial Government. I will simply declare the territory one of my personal Protectorates and Install Nobles in the positions that need to be filled, then take the best men from Allanea, and give them noble titles and appoint them to positions...a Coalition government of sorts. With the Guard in a constant position of Power...It won't be long until the country stabilizes."
"What of the former President?" Oberhausen enquired.
"From the best I can understand," Paisley answered soberly, "He is a traitor and must be executed. If future evidence exhonnerates him, sobeit...but for now, we need to send agents into Allanea demonstrating the disconnect between the responsible policies of the Crown and the policies that the old government represents. If we are able to turn the masses away from them, and towards the Crown, which we hope they will see as a liberating force...as did the Germans of the Confederation of the Rhine (towards the beginning in anycase), Allanea will be more responsible...and in a more influential position than ever before...she tried to gain influence through arms...but it will be by peace and unity with the Crown that her influence shall wax brilliant."
"Something you are forgetting..." General Thiebault interrupted. "Sentient Peoples...they conveniently hold that territory at the moment."
"We are in a stronger position than they think we are..." Paisley glowed, "and they over estimate themselves greatly regardless. If it comes to a fight...I am confident, especially with the most recent briefing I recieved from Count von Herzenstein that we can defeat them...but I would rather just get them to leave peacefully. We don't need anymore deaths...so as soon as Andre is done in HARU...he will fly to FSP...there he will discuss business."

Responses to the Allanean Protest Actions, The Federation Territory of Allanea
The responses were swift, and growing rapidly in their force. Authorizations came from the Federation Proper, authorizing the increases almost hourly. For by the Imperial President’s reasoning, twenty thousand people wearing a uniform constituted at least a mercenary force, if not an attempt to rebuild the armed services. Deadly force was authorized. Troops who would have once reached for a stunner now reached for their battle rifles, and the post-modern Allaneans had little to stop an explosive round moving at 1500 meters per second. Tank armor might have stopped it, but they had no tanks.
With this directive came another, and that night, across Allanea, entire regiments began to hit neighborhoods and villages, small places with minimal population. Brutal shock value as they came in the night, aerospace fighters roaring by overhead depositing stunning bombs and knock out gases throughout the living areas. Only then did the troops move in, armed with their stunners and rifles, authorized, again, to use deadly force in the case of armed resistance. And it was not troops escorting large numbers of Security-2 Combat Robots either. This was Federation Military personnel for the first time striking in large numbers. Ground penetrating radar and metal detectors were used to find buried weapons. Houses were cleaned out of ammunition and guns, with x-ray imagers and sonar being used as well, to check for hidden areas.
As for the airport, paint was flammable, and the word “Freedom” was merely burned off the runway, leaving nothing but dark ashes behind. And the egg throwers? The Sec-2’s in place to discourage them were authorized to use their masers on the full lethal setting if body armor was in use. George Keyes was arrested and tossed in solitary confinement, his farming equipment seized. The flag is put in place again by the next morning. Small, protected generators were put in place, running electricity through the flag poles around the nation to discourage further attempts.
ANN frequencies are jammed.

Slamming the newspaper down in anger, the President was fed up with the way the Sentients were dealing with the situation. They seemed to think they could just treat the Allanean populous like dogs worth less than the mud they crawled from; and they seemed to think that nations would just idley sit by and allow this to happen. It was now obvious that Sentient commanders were far too incompetant to handle the Allanean populous properly; violence was only met with violence, beginning the visious cycle of hatred and death.
Although he felt sorry for the men who were just following their orders, Grove now felt that the commanders of the Sentient Military now deserved the fate they were getting in Allanea. If they could not at least make effort to satisfy all sides, then they deserved to lose what they had. Before, the situation could have been capped and violence could have been averted. Now, the Sentient Military had fired on civillians in anger with deadly ammunition, and to cap it all off, they burnt the word 'Freedom' which had been painted across the airport. Word would have already spread amongst the people, and surely plans of armed rebellion would be beginning.
Although the government had always held a non-official position on the matter, they had previously held the un-official position of favour toward the Sentient occupation. Now with an announcement that the President would make, it would become clear of the new position of the Austarian government. President Grove was already prepared as he walked out onto the podium to speak at a national press conference;
"It has become more than apparent to me, that the Sentient Military commanders is far too incompetant to handle the situation in Allanea. Over the past few days and weeks, you have all seen the rising Independance Movements, and their actions in Allanea. Unfortunatly, it seems as if instead of taking a more pro-active approach to provide a solution; they resort to methods of punishment and set-back for the Allanean people.
It has always been the position of this government that we do not feel that the Allaneans are ready for independance. But at the same time we do not feel that any race should endure such an oppressive force, which claims to be liberating the Allanean race. Such hypocricy it seems, that we offer to assist them in developing a peaceful resoultion through the meeting of all parties of the conflict, yet they apparently do not seek the same, but they seek to hold control.
I ask of everyone this across the globe; what kind of liberation force burns the word 'Freedom', when it is the public outcry of every man's heart? What kind of liberation force fires in aggression on protesting civillians? What kind of liberation force does not seek to hear from the people, but to only hear from their own deaf ears?
We believe in a free Allanea, yet we do not believe in an independant Allanea. We do not feel that the people are ready for a new foriegn ministry, but we do not feel that they are ready for the oppression of the current occupyiers. We believe in oppression, but the building of lives rather than breaking them.
Therefore, the new position of this government is a cry to the Sentient Military commanders. Do not oppress the Allanean people, or they will fight you. You are forgetting the very role you are there for, and that is to serve the people through the freedom from the old aggressive government. Become servants of the Allaneans, and they will honor you. Become their oppressors, and they will hate you forever..."
Stepping down, the gathering of media representatives stood to their feet in applause at the passionate speech. It had been broadcasted live across the nation, and to sister networks across the globe. To make sure that the Sentient soldiers heard the message, the speech was also broadcasted into Allanea. Hopefully only the ANN frequencies had been jammed, and not the rest.
Within hours from the speech being delivered, the streets would be filled of protest against the Allanean oppression. Nobody really minded who was occupying Allanea, but almost everyone seemed to care about how they were occupying Allanea, and the methods they were using. Violence and Oppression would never be the answer, a lesson that had been learned time and time again through the history of mankind.

"This is no way to be handling a protest...The fools(protesters) should have been annihilated."
~Overlord Jarak Romendacil Rosiro, Commander -in- Chief of Auman as seen on MNN's Crossfire.
Although the Ashen Empire did not have much interest in the backwards nation of Allanea, they still found it interesting how the situation transpired in there. As the promising insanity the Allaneans were showing could not be extinguished, the occupying forces finally did what the undead knew they would have to do - control those who are unable to control themselves with an iron fist. Lead them to the future of your choosing, even if they try to resist, even if you must force them to do so. That is the only way.
But this situation also showed one of the many the shortcomings of the state of life. Unlike the undead, the living always hated each other. Destroyed each other. "Cleansed" each other. Although it was also true that the undead waged wars in the Underworld with each other, they did so out of habit, not out of hate towards their sworn enemies. And there all undead are "immortal". Even if they are "slain", they always return to the fight. You cannot kill what is dead in the realms of the dead, not even if you yourself are also dead.
But the wars of the living always bring more souls to the Underworld. More things to be brought back to the realms of the living by the Ashen Empire. That is why they always watched those wars with great devotion, as they watched their aftermaths.
Ah, yes. There was one thing that interested the undead in Allanea. Their... Fragile state of defenselessness was something the undead wanted to abuse. Whilst the Sentient Peoples held their own points of control in check, the Allaneans could not do so, most apparently. Plus, the Allaneans were losing their last methods of defending themselves. Could there be a better time? Imprint the souls of some of the Allaneans with darkness so that they would act as an extension of the undead on their own lands... No one would know why they would do what they were to do, and that was how the undead intended it to be.

Government House, Navarre, The Freethinkers
Barham stared at Clodius across the desk. It wasn’t a menacing or frightened stare, merely an inquisitive glance by the Prime Minister to see if he could tell with no words said what the centuries old vampire across from him was thinking. Clodius however, merely stared right back. Like all the vampires on the Freethinker landmass he possessed eyes with no discernable pupils. In biological terms a natural adaptation to those who chose to live most of their lives in one or another form of darkness, it none the less put many of the humans that worked around them in a state of discomfort. Clodius, not uniquely among the vampires, find this very useful in dealing with the human population, who were thusly even less inclined to push them in the wrong direction.
Clodius also had the advantage of simply being old enough to know how to hide what he felt. 230 years old, he had seen the coming of the Freethinkers independence from Britain, the conquests of the Fargon archipelago, the coming of the steam, the coal ages, the arrival of the combustion engine, of human flight, of the battleship and tank, of the telephone and jet engine, and a hundred other inventions over the course of three human lifetimes. He was be no means the oldest of the vampires, but his position as the head of the Pathfinder Corp, achieved in bloody and spectacular circumstances during the last attempt of the Fargonis to try and free themselves, meant that he was in the technical sense the most powerful vampire ‘alive’.
Which is why he sat here, now, taking a pause in the conversation to recollect his thoughts and think what to say. He and Barham had been engaged in heated debate regarding the Allanean situation. The realisation of the threat from Greater Prussia had elevated the tensions somewhat, although secretly both men were glad the leaders of the Federation of Sentient Peoples were not turning into paranoid madmen. Nonetheless, the possibility of Allanea turning into a blood-soaked killing field loomed large. It certainly wasn’t what the two of them, or indeed the entire nation they led, would wish on the nation, despite past grievances.
It was Barham who broke the silence eventually.
“We have come to a bit of a fork in the road. If it comes to war, where do we stand? We are aiming for an independent Allanea, but one which isn’t lead up by, or even wishes to be lead by, a group of power-hungry madmen. Kazansky will never be allowed to return, I feel, not by any of the powers present and good riddance as far as I care. But as a regional neighbour this affects us more than most, and we do have obligations under the UnAPS charter as well, despite others….merely stating how the charter is defunct. I don’t believe that, but it’s hard now that UnAPS seems to just be an alliance of nations sticking together because they have nowhere else to turn. Its annoying situation to be in, to say the least, especially as some of our fellow nations within the Union wish to get more proactive about Allanean independence.”
Clodius merely nodded, then looked down at his feet for a second. As he looked up again he began his answer.
“I concur that the decision is not easy, and the final choice may not be the clearest path. As the leader of this nation you have to do one thing however. Your job is to make sure that whatever happens, you keep this nation safe and free from harm. Your choice has to maximise gain in the short and long run, and what you do decide to do you then have to follow your decision through to its conclusion. You can side with the Federation of Sentient Peoples, and do not have to worry about Kazansky returning, or you can side with Greater Prussia and see an independent Allanea once again. I’m not a fool, though, and whatever side we choose to go with, for we will have to choose passively if not actively so, the effect we have will be marginal at best. We have to decide which option is best for our nation today, and hope everything moves forward as we hope.”
Barham leaned back in his chair, forming a steeple with his fingers as his face sunk slowly. His eyes closed for a few moments, adjusting to the ever fading light.
“Who do you think will win, Clodius?”
“Depends on how many allies the Sentient Peoples get to help them, which could be a considerable number of very powerful players if we are optimistic on their part. There is also the factor of whether Metus gets involved, although the relations between Greater Prussia and the rest of Metus are somewhat strained from recent events. I'm not going anywhere near that with any assumptions however. I'm also curious as to what government Greater Prussia would install if they do win. Kazansky is a big advocate of ‘small’ government and the centralised nature of that alliance seems at the opposite end of the political spectrum to him. Which makes me wonder what will happen? It’s like trying to predict the weather with no instruments but your own eyes. There are many, many things we don’t know and we have to make big decisions based on these theories and ideas that quite frankly have roots about as sturdy as Birnam Wood.”
Barham tilted his head forward, staring at his desk. He spoke again, but more quietly now.
“Big decisions indeed. We have also been asked to attend a conference within the Auster Union to discuss Allanea’s future. I would like it if you could find the time to go, Clodius, to make sure our interests are heard in the matter. Speaking of others, we’ve been contacted by the Island States with regard to the Allanean situation as well. Newman is raising the possibility of inspectors, although with the latest crackdown on the Allaneans by the Sentient Peoples and the scale of the problem of insurgency and war evolving rapidly, the whole inspection business is going to seem like only a sideshow to the big picture. It will most likely be rejected outright and invite deep hostility from both sides of the line, as well as from the other members of Haven at large. It won’t be a measure I support, at least openly anyway. The civil rights violations do need to be correlated, if only to assess what will happen in the future.”
“Indeed, Theo,” Clodius replied, “and the recent escalation of force by the Sentient Peoples really has screwed things up for them. It’s starting to turn people around, you know, starting to make many people question. And of course, getting heavy handed with Allaneans is one of the most stupid things you can do. They may not have much weaponry, but they are trained in the basics and in the numbers available they can seriously begin to start causing serious damage to the ground forces Sentient Peoples have. To paraphrase the old Chinese PLA, they can drown the Sentient Peoples forces in a sea of humanity. They are outnumbered and, if the Greater Prussians get involved, can also be quickly outgunned too. The one thing I can guarantee is there is going to be a bloodbath very soon on the streets and fields of Allanea. I do not see how that can be avoided unless one of the sides pulls out. At the moment the future does not look bright for the occupying troops in Allanea though, and I am fairly certain some very nasty images are going to start appearing on the news about it soon enough.”
Barham nodded, and grimaced. “Very well Clodius, I can see where you are heading with that. Like I said, I’ll ask for an invite to that conference for you to see and what you can accomplish. I’ll make a few calls myself. If I were you I’d go and pack. Good luck.”
“Thank you sir.” Clodius rose to his feet, gave a sharp salute and rapidly departed. Barham watched him go, biting his lip, before picking up the phone and speaking to his secretary.
“Madeleine dear, put me through to the President of the Island States…”

RE: Allanea Conference
Dear sir,
With regards to the conference you previously mentioned, we are applying for several seats in attendance. Because of Allanea’s geo-graphical and political connections to us and the region of Haven at large, it is in our utmost interests to have a say in discussions regarding Allanea.
We will be sending several diplomatic representatives by air and will be willing to pay any accommodation. We will entrust their security to you, and, if required, the security personnel present will surrender their weapons if necessary at the border. We hope to hear a reply soon.
Signed
Theodor Barham
Prime Minister of the Freethinkers.
In Port-Allanea
The crowd was silent. The flags they were holding had black ribbons fixed to them. Then, suddenly, the silence was broken by a blond man standing on the pedestal, at the feet of the huge statue:
What the hell is wrong with you people? Every single bad rumour, every single bad expectation we had about the Feds has now come true. They are violating our sacred freedoms. They are confiscating guns. They are breaking into homes. They are imprisoning elderly veterans for the charge of wearing their medals. They are murdering our children for throwing eggs.
And you here are standing here, silent, as they murder our future? Fearing that they will kill you, that it will get worse? Well, newsflash, idiots: they are already killing you. It is already getting worse. You wait for a few years, and you’ll all either be dead or watch your children become willing slaves to the Federation. You choose what you like more.
Or you can do something about it. There’s two million Federation troops here, and almost three billion Allaneans. Think they can do something about us?
And the crowd roars.

"This situation with Greater Prussia is quite interesting," Newman said as he put down his newspaper, folding it neatly and handing it to an aide to archive. "How could this benefit our goals of an independant Allanea?"
"Well sir, we could see a Greater Prussian overwhelming victory, restoring Allanea to independance, but also Kazansky to power. While we'd like to see Kazansky removed from the world stage as a player, if he does come back, theres not much we can do about it," The President's Chief Analyst stated.
"What's the worst case scenario for a Greater Prussian war against the Sentient Peoples?" Newman asked.
"They wipe out Allanea, and possibly several countries that helped Allanea with gaining independence, namely us sir," The Chief Analyst replied. "While they're blowing up Allanea, they decide to make our situation worse by wiping out our infrastructure at the same time."
"What kind of defenses do we have against such an attack from the sky?"
"None," Replied Stategic Forces General Johnson. "If they hit us, all we have are peashooters... lasers, ICBMS, etc. Even if we can reach them in an attack, we won't be able to do much damage before we're rendered incapacitated."
"You mean to tell me that all the money we spent on orbital defense, especially after the Phyrrican space station got in the way of our plans, went to fund a group of 100 guys who sat around... and swapped jokes about how fat the other guys mothers were? I don't believe this..."
"But Mr. President, we have been spending it on improving our ABM technology," General Johnson replied. "We have also been developing a large anti-orbital bombardment missile, designed for counterbattery attacks against orbital installations. It's just not finished yet."
"Bullshit," The President replied harshly. "Until you have something deployable, it's worthless." A phone rang on his desk. "Now what..."

FROM: Office of President Edward Grove, Anatoba City, Austar Union
SUBJECT: RE: Allanean Conference
CC: Sentient Military Commanders, Allanean Office
------------------------------------
It has become apparent to us due to recent events that no sides in this conflict wish to meet to discuss a compromisal meeting. We are most displeased with the occupation forces as lately, going as far as burning the word 'Freedom' off the runway tarmacs. Whilst we can understand that it was simply a removal of graffiti off a public property, should actions not be thought through before making them. Looking at it from the Allaneans point of view, such a burning is symbolic that the Sentient Peoples are 'burning Allanean freedom away', and the way we see it, they will only respond in anger.
It is much the same case how they have now begun to fire live rounds at protesting and rioting civillians. There are many alternatives, and is it not obvious that the families of those killed would be burnded by a deep hatred, so much so that they will be further against the occupation forces?
The way we see it, the Sentient commanders are trying to force their will upon the Allaneans, which is far too hard without their hearts and minds. You cannot rule Allaneans with fear, because their hearts are void of it, and this has proven in history. You cannot rule Allaneans by force, nor can you really rule many population's by force, simply because violence would only be met with violence. The only way we see a solution to this problem which is now out of control, is to actually work with the Allanean people in establishing their new country. This way, each has a voice; and sooner rather than later, they will end up governing at least their own country. From there, privilages can be given to the new government slowly, and piece by piece, the Allaneans will have their country back without violence or bloodshed. Why would they commit violence to those who are committing peace and cooporation with them?
Anyhow, we are quite unsure ourselves of what is happening, and because the Sentient Peoples have shown no interest in our conference, and nor have the Allaneans, we doubt it will in fact be going ahead. However we will keep your delegate in mind, and contact you should circumstances change. Thankyou for your interest. Please be advised that a copy of this message has been sent to Sentient Military commanders. Perhaps they may take a lesson from what we have written above, and perhaps at the last hour changes could be made, setting the entire situation on a new course toward peace.

To make them fanatically loyal to the Empire is the easy part. To make them work "undercover" would be much harder.
The advance scouts, the Black Servants, as the dead called them, were in Allanea. It was quite likely that no one would notice them, they were basically just shadows, after all, with limited capability in the ways of affecting their surroundings. Only those who know of their existence would, in most cases, be the ones who notice them. That was what the undead counted on. They searched and searched, looking for people their masters could use in their dark quest they had chosen to begin on this land.
Their search had been fruitful - they had found enough people who would be... Receptive. The imprintation had already begun, here and there. It would take some time for those chosen to be imprinted to lose control of their own will and become loyalists of the Empire, but they had time, oh yes, that was something they had in abundance. As the people would be just normal Allaneans and would have practically no prior contact with each other, finding out what motivated them would be... Practically impossible. The Servants would be the link between the people and the Empire, giving them limited access to the Underworld whenever needed. They would have... People waiting there.
And then... something happened... the undead had failed in their task. Most spectacularly, for they found no mind they could penetrate or imprint. And they have not known why...
(OOC: I should've known! Allaneans aren't even sentient! That explains their immense stupidity! What we have here is a human subspecies, genetically lobotomized! Making something loyal requires at least some intelligence. This proves that even dogs are super intelligent when compared to Allaneans.)

"Kazansky is a big advocate of ‘small’ government and the centralised nature of that alliance seems at the opposite end of the political spectrum to him."
-OOC: Can't remember who said that, but I find it funny as a Monarchy is a relatively small government...atleast the way I run it...for it is differant from most traditional monarchies indeed. But even generally speaking. Beaurocracy is pretty small in a Monarchy...not that many Senates meeting and squabbling for years over stupid things. Granted, many Monarchies do not grant many individual freedoms...I do.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"So, the plans we have seem to be solid." Count von Katrineburg remarked positively to Paisley.
"Indeed." the Emperor said as he leaned back in his leather wing chair. "They very much are solid. It is now your mission, Andre, to defend them at the meeting with Sentient Peoples.
"One question though that you didn't address." Arch Duke von Oberhausen began (OOC: he recieved an increase in property and title due to his past work) "Is that question that is on everyone's minds. What of Kazansky?"
"Well..." Paisely sighed with a bit of apprehension and leaned forward "We obviously can't let him come back into power...but at the same time...the examination of the proper documents clears him of any wrongdoing with Imperial Funds. There isn't a cent missing from our coffers that isn't accounted for. We can't execute him is the bottom line."
"Of course you can execute him." Count von Herzenstein, previously silent, and a bit away from the others popped in, " You're the Emperor. You can do whatever you like." He snorted a bit and took another sip from his glass of wine.
"I CAN execute him...but I won't. I may be Emperor, but I have morals." Paisley brushed him off. "Also, I have a better idea. The people of the country would react quite harshly towards us if we executed Kazansky or did anything of the sort. So, as a government worker of Allanea, he has built up several years of unused vacation time...10 to be precise. We let him take them. Send him to King Will's old estate on Tildira Island where he sent the former Imperator of Akilliam. It's a tropical paradise with a huge garrison of Imperial Guard. Supposedly, the will be to protect him. But of course, they will be to keep him there. He will not be permitted to return to Allanea...and unofficial exhile. He will be given a stipend by the Imperial Treasury, and permanently relieved of his office as Arch Treasurer. We have to keep him in isolation and out of Allanean affairs until we are able to turn that place around. Although Kazansky wasn't to blame for the Mars debacle...he is still held responsible and this is a point I am not willing to fight."
"What about after the ten years is up" Inquired Katrineburg.
"Well...after ten years is up...assuming he survives ten years...we make his unofficial exhile official, and his unofficial house arrest...official." Paisley grinned from ear to ear. "And finally, the plan for the head of the government. For now, we will declare it my personal protectorate, like was done with Confederation of the Rhine. In each of the provinces of Allanea we will attempt to install an Allanean ruler as the regional noble. If we cannot...then we install one of our nobles. But I have in my hands a list of leaders for all of the provinces. Unless they refuse and we can find no one else...that will not be necessary. So officially, I will be head of State until it is stable. Unofficially though, you, Andre....Count von Katrineburg...will be head of state. I feel you can better give attention to it and deal with these situations."
Katrineburg was taken aback, his mouth slightly open with shock. "Why thankyou Ian...Emperor Paisley"
Paisley remonstrated him, "Don't get too comfortable in that position though, because as soon as it is stable...I will be recalling you to the Kingdom. I estimate a year or two before we either let the Allanean Nobles pick thier government and leader...or we institute a democratic process, get rid of the nobles positions and allow the old nobles to run for an elected office. Either way...this ensures that Allanea can't go rogue...and ensures her connection to the crown and thereby her safety."

Whichever Rock Cecil B Demented is Hiding Under, Federation Territory of Allanea, FSP
Morfindel had abandoned her Menelmacari styled robes now that she was back in Federation Territory. Black semi-powered armor clothed her now, minus the helmet, which was tucked under her arm. She looked out at her team of Justice Directorate Enforcement Agents, all in black, helmets on. “Are we ready team?”
The four other agents nodded, and hefted their rifles. Morfindel grinned tightly, and pulled on her own helmet. “This is JD Strike One to Third Platoon. We’re ready to proceed.”
The voice came out of her helmet speaker. “Understood, Agent Morfindel. We’re pulling back to out coverage positions now.”
“Very well, Lieutenant. Lethal Force is authorized, but as a last resort. Don’t shoot to kill unless you have to, but don’t let him get away.”
“Understood.”
Morfindel raised her hand and gestured to her team, and they filtered forward. The sixth team member, the sniper, was already in a covering position. Morfindel let her hand rest near her stunner, though her rifle and regular pistol were within easy reach as well. Fortunately, she was the fastest drawing person she knew, and the armor only sped her up. She could draw, fire accurately, and reholster a weapon in half the time it took a human to blink.
She was the fastest draw in the Justice Directorate, and had beat everyone in the Federation in national quick draw competitions for as long as they had held them. After all, as an elf, she had had a long time to practice.
She keyed up the external speaker. “Mister Cecil Demented. You are under arrest for multiple crimes, including Grand Fraud, a Class Three Felony (Non-Capital). Anything you say will be used against you in a court of law. Your right to an attorney will be determined later, as will a right to a jury trial. Please come out with your hands up behind your head and unarmed. Even more, please don’t make us come in and get you.”
Morfindel waited for a response from the filmmaker.
Cecil shrugs as he unholsters his guns (an Allanean Arms 1911 clone and a Glock-19, belt and ankle holsters respectively) and puts them out on the table.
He is well acquainted with the way Allanean law enforcement would have dealt with even a semblance of armed resistance - and he's pretty certain he can expect the same from the Federation. After editing the footage of them massacring thousands of veterans for wearing a uniform, he is very certain of that.
'OK, OK, I'm coming out, wait a second.'
Five seconds later, a shot rings out inside the building.

SUBJECT: International Observers
Our nation has been monitoring the situation of Allanea, a nation close to our region and one that has been conquered by your forces, and we are disturbed by some of the information coming from external sources. We wish not to pass judgement on the current situation in Allanea if it is not like it sounds, so we wish to send a team of International Observers to Allanea and the territory on the Haven Strait known as 'Hestonia' in order to find out what the situation is first hand.
With Respects,

John Nugent smiles as he looked through his window. The curtains made him practically invisible from the street, but he could see well enough - what he wanted to see - that is, the crew of 8 Sec-2 robots walking down the street. He caught on of the robots in the sights of his Remington M-700. Two years ago - what seemed centuries - he would have only used steel-cored ammunition at the range, where it would have been used only to prevent lead poisoning. Today, it returned to it's original purpose.
Armor-piercing ammunition.
He aimed his rifle at what seemed to be an optical sensor atop the seemingly-massive robotic hull and pulled the trigger.
While Nugent was still chambering his next round, Alexei Sidorov, his comrade - or, as others would name it, accomplice - stood tall on the building's roof, firing his RPG-18 at another Sec-2.
Sheila Nugent, John's wife, poked her Calico submachinegun from the bedroom window, and began firing - a long, long, stream of Cyclone armor piercing bullets.
His neighbor, Rabbi Moshe Vainshtok, appeared from behind the street corner, firing a .50 caliber Serbu Carbine at the approaching monstrosities.
Then, the second shot came from John - three seconds after the first.
A distant road in The State of Aissur, Allanea
'Here goes nothing...' whispered Malcolm Bulgarin, as he saw the mixed team of Sec-2's and Federal soldiers walk down the unpaved country road.
In a few seconds... they were about to reach his spot
'C'mon, c'mon' begged Malcolm silently, 'just a little bit...'
He reached for a remote control
And then they got there. And the ground shook as Malcolm's spot literally exploded - with the forth of the large, heavy box of TNT from his grandfather's basement.
He hoped twenty-five kilograms of TNT would do the job - and that his grandfather wouldn't kill him when he knew what he did with the explosives.
On a roof in Heston-city
'So, who lives there?'
'I dunno. Some Federal fatcat, that's what matters'
'True. Ready...'
'Aim..'
'Fire in the hole!'
The small 82mm mortar spat fire.
And again.
And again.
Then the rebels ran, ditchig the device, lest they be discovered next to it.
These were the only attacks that day, but to those who had eyes to see and ears to hear, they were ominous.

Port Allanea, Federation Territory of Allanea, FSP
The response to the obliteration of the Sec-2 patrol was swift and vengeful. You see, armed resistance on that scaled argued for a neighborhood conspiracy. No questions were asked, nor reasons given.
The area was cordoned off by a company of troops, backed up by a large number of Sec-2’s. No one was allowed in or out. The neighborhood was burned from the map, leveled, then cratered, with a rain of kinetic strikes, high explosives and plasma bombs.
The message was clear. Striking at the Federation only brought pain and death.
The State of Aissur, Federation Territory of Allanea, FSP
The soldiers and the robots died, for the most part. The robots, because there was little cause to bother trying to save them, and the soldiers, because they were injured, for the most part, too severely to survive long enough for treatment. One did survive.
But the radio transmitter left an EM signature that could be traced. Further, other methods of tracking that no doubt did not occur to the untrained youth did occur to the Federation. Malcolm was tracked down, and his family, young, old, and all, including animals, was led out into the street in chains after a full platoon and Sec-2 support raided their house.
Two shots through the back of the head took care of them. The house was razed to the ground.
Heston City, Federation Territory of Allanea, FSP
The small apartment complex collapsed under fire, bringing down two other buildings on the same block, one of which, fortunately, unoccupied. Federation rescue crews arrived swiftly, but there was little they could do but sort the rubble, trying to find the pieces of broken bodies. One crewman broke down as his team pulled what remained of a young girl from the wreckage. It had been a housing complex after all.
Of course, the miracles of the Federation’s technology were far from done. They could not breath life back into the dead, but they could, and did, track the dead’s murderers. Satellites had pinpointed the firing position well before the final shot was fired. Within minutes, security teams of soldiers had arrived.
People in the building were pumped full of truth drugs, and questioned for all they knew. If they had known anything of the impending attack, they died, as did their families.
The Federation would not rest until it found the people who had murdered nearly four hundred men, women, and children, mostly in their sleep.
OOC: And nobody died during the raid in Aissur?
P.S. I never knew 82mm mortars where *that* cool :)
IC:
The unbridled violence of the Federal forces could not fail to elicit one single response from the Allaneans: violence.
And so it went.
Port-Allanea, Allanea
George Kowalski, 43 years old, gets out of his rented Unimog truck, parked conveniently in front of the local Federation office building, and begins to walk home.

George puts on his headphones and turns on his favourite song, smirking inwardly.

What this world needs is a few more rednecks

George turned a corner, now safe for what he knew was about to happen.

The crew of Sec-2’s continued on their daily business. Jonathan Dayley smirked as he watched them from his appartment building roof. Any second now…
The first Sec-2 stepped off the tarmac and onto the soil of the park.
Big mistake.
Some people called Dayley nutty for collecting old landmines. Today, the WWII Soviet anti-tank device – merely 10 kilograms of high explosives and a pressure trigger – turned out to be useful. Surprisingly, the ancient explosives worked.
Sometimes, they still do.
Heston-City, Allanea
Fred Clooney was ready. Eight hundred meters from him was a high-ranking Federal official. Not far enough. Not even nearly far enough.
The Mosin-Nagant bolt-action jerked slightly as he fired a match-grade hollow point round at the man’s head.
Then, Clooney ran, ditching the $150 rifle.
Port Allanea, Allanea
A powerful explosion ripped through the Federal building.
In a taxi a few blocks away, Kowalski smiled inwardly. He read about a similar thing done in a place called Oklahoma – only this was far, far more justified, and there was no daycare center on the top floor, as far a he knew.
He relaxed and listened to the song:
I was raised on beans and cornbread
And I like my chicken fried
Yes, I drive a pickup truck
And I’m full of Allanean pride
I keep a Bible on my table
I got a flag out on my lawn
And I don’t believe in mindin’
No one’s business but my own…
ANN News Report, for those who can still get it
‘Good day, citizens. Today, ten terrorist attacks were experienced in Allanea, of which one in the capital where a Federal building was bombed and one in Heston-city, where an assasination attempt on a local Federal official was supposedly carrried out. No word yet has been heard from the Federal authorities on the success off failure of this act. Furthermore, the following attacks were carried out:
In New-Dodge City, Aissur, an explosive device was triggered by a Sec-2 patrol. . The perpetrator has not yet been apprehended
In New-Mount Carmel, Atlantic Island, an RPG-18 was fired from hiding at a military patrol in the city. The perpetrator has not yet been apprehended.
In Liberty-Ville, Atlantic Island, a car filled with home-made explosives blew up as a military patrol passed by. The owner of the car is being looked for.
In Neo-Murmansk, Aissur, a high-school student has shot a Federation citizen employed as a teacher at his school.
In Pizdetz Village, Allanea, a protest by Russian-Allaneans has become violent as shots were fired at the Federation personnel on the scene.
In Madisonville, Allanea, a mortar attack has been perpetrated on the local Federal appartment complex, apparently patterned after previous attacks.
In Jeffersonville, Allanea, the headmaster of a local Federal school was found poisoned. The perpetrator has not been found, but three local groups have claimed responsibility.
In Nivensky, Allanea, a man-portable FAE missile was fired at a Sec-2 patrol.. The perpetrator is being searched for.

"I can't say I didn't expect this," Sirithil mused, watching the news. "Part of why I arranged for ABF to be forced from Menelmacar."
"Well, they're desperate - at least, they think they are," Maglor replied. "They're probably better off now than they were, but they don't see it."
"Well, it's not a matter of whether the Federal response will cross the line to 'massive'," Sirithil answered ominously. "But more a matter of when."

Ancient and Holy Terra
21-09-2004, 13:12
In the dark of night, dozens of miles from the nearest civilization, a group of 12 men huddled together around a small cooking fire in a cave, satchels and duffel bags strewn around behind them, backpacks and bedrolls adorning the ground. They were crowded around the fire, cooking cans of ready-made beans or eating cups of Instant Noodles. Two more men stood behind them at the mouth of the cave, M4A1 Rifles at the ready as they scanned the horizon through rudimentary night-vision goggles.
"Well boys, we're making good progress." said one of the men suddenly, a huge bear of a man whose shaggy hair and beard gave him a fierce, wild appearance. "I figure only one more day until we reach Nugentville...and those Federation SOBs that are raping the place."
The group laughed. One of the guards spoke from his place at the mouth of the cave. "I say bring 'em on...no stupid robot is gonna stun MY ass." he said loudly, eliciting more laughter. "I figure our 'delivery' is gonna make someone in the Underground reallllly happy." he added.
Their 'delivery' consisted of 14 M4A1 rifles, 8 M82A1 Anti-Material Rifles, two crates of Grenades, four RPG-7s, boxes of ammunition, $140,000 Terran Credits-worth of assorted foreign currencies, several blocks of Thermium-Nitrate High Explosive, and a dozen suits of light body armor. This they had stolen from an unguarded Terran Reserve Armory in the Western Terra Provincial Capital of Kotori. They also carried two dozen high-resolution satellite photos of FSP Military Positions in Allanea, which they had bribed out of a low-ranking Lieutenant serving in the Terran Space Command Headquarters in Tellerus. The 14 men in this group were members of the NTRA, or the National Terran Rifle Association. Though they hadn't been 'officially' sponsored by the NTRA, several prominent members of the Association had quietly deposited funds in the bank accounts of these men. These men operated without the sanction of the Terran Government, their operations unknown even to Terran Intelligence. They were predominently from Western Terra, obviously gun nuts, and they had advocated warmer relations with Allanea for over a decade. They supported a free Allanea, and if the Terran Government wouldn't do anything to further that cause, then it was time that they took matters into their own hands.
The group had met up in Western Terra, along the North-Western border. They had first taken a rented, and then modified, U-Haul truck across the border (to hide the weapons from Terran Border Inspection, they had hidden everything in a special compartment built above the axles). They had driven North for several days until they reached the border of Corrheia. They had quietly slipped into that country, and then headed along a rarely-used road until they reached Corrheia's mountainous border with Allanea. At this point they had ditched the truck and hid it in another cave, and then continued their journey on foot. Their destination was Nugentville, a small town (Population ~25,000) that lay less than 50 miles from the Corrheian-Allanean Border. Due to the town's small size, it had only a token force of FSP troops, and therefore was a perfect place for the Allanean Underground to use as it continued its insurgency effort.
The men had been hiking for two days now, across the steep hills and low valleys that lined the border. In that time, they had seen no sign of FSP patrols. During the day, they rested frequently and draped wet rags over their heads in an effort to avoid detection by infrared or thermal scanning systems, and it appeared that they had been successful. As far as they could tell, no Federation patrol had come within 50 miles of them. They had chosen this infiltration method because it was assumed that the hills and valleys would make patrolling the area difficult...and apparently, they had been correct.
The giant, a man named Colm Giles, finished his 'meal' and tossed the stryofoam noodle cup into the fire. The others followed suit. "Time to turn in for the night, boys." he announced, pulling his sleeping-bag and bedroll from his backpack and laying them out on the nearest available flat space. He designated two men to stand guard for three hours, after which they'd rotate the guard. "If all goes well," he added "we'll be out of Allanea and back in Terra by the end of the week, and nobody'll ever know what we did."
The others mumbled and also laid out their sleeping bags. As Colm Giles drifted off toward sleep, one more thought crossed his head. "If good ol' Emperor Kamiya could see us now..." he thought "...he'd go mad at us."
With that comforting thought, he fell asleep.
Antikristuseke
21-09-2004, 13:29
The dictatorship of Antikristuseke sends Allanea several small aid shipments containing Leupold VX-III 8.5-25x50mm Long Range Target scopes, 14.5x114mm caliber PTRS rifles and AP, APHE, AP-T and APHE-T ammunition. the sent aid will be airdroped and shiped in by sea over the next weeks. Over the sea routes the aid packages will be delivered by converted torpedoe boats, able to cover long distances at speed. The air shipments will be done with moddified B-52 bombers. Not all vessels are loaded with aid and some will be used as decoys. There will be a total of 120,000 rifles and scopes delivered along with 750,000 rounds of AP; 250,000 rounds of AP-T; 400,000 rounds of APHE and 100,000 rounds of APHE-T. The firt airdrop of 25,000 rifles with scopes and 100,000 rounds of AP ammo will take place in the next few days.
The armed forces of Antikristuseke are prepared to deal with whatever consequences this action will bring, the generals have allready drawn up many defencive strategies and backup strategies, should there be an invasion on the sacred lands of Antikristuseke.
In the South
Dmitry Sidorov was tired. He was walking for the last three hours, scouting out patrol patterns and positions – things he thought might prove useful for him and his five-man cell. The cell was not connected to anybody. It had no structure to be part of – and no traitors that could give it away. No supporting groups – except the two billion Allaneans out there. No finances – except the salaries of the five members. And there were hundreds of such groups spawning all over Allanea. Under Sidorov’s estimates, if only half a percent of the population did this, the Federal troops would already be outnumbered five to one.
And then he saw the campfire. The men in the cave probably saw him first, he though, what with the nightvision devices they were wearing. So he raised his hands, nodding at his bright NRA lapel pin, and started walking towards the men, slowly.

George Simon screamed happily as he unpacked the large box he found in the morning. It fell from the sky, tied to a parachute, marked HUMANITARIAN AID. That’s what it had it in it. Food, cans, and so on. He swore and opened another box. This one was better. 5 PTRS rifles and 100 rounds of ammunition where packed in it.
‘Now that’s what I call aid!’
Similar scenes were taking place all over the Allanean northern shores.
The Island States
21-09-2004, 21:25
With The Island States receiving better light arms for it's military, the "Organization of the Removal of Older Weapons" was founded by the Islander Army. The old G36 rifles, RPG-7m's, and 9mm HK pistols that were once carried by Islanders in their campaigns against the Allaneans ages ago, and their ammunition, were being stacked into an alleyway beside the building for pickup by a licensed military weapons disarmament firm. Only three other buildings shared that alleyway next to the processing building: two apartment skyscrapers, and an old office building owned by an organization affiliated with the ABF (OOC: hint hint).
In the Alleyway
'Nice, nice... PGM-7 grenades, I see.'
'Indeed. Slightly more evolved than the original platform.'
'Good. What do we do with them?'
'We can't risk large scale smuggling - yet. What is the volume of supply trains going into Allanea daily?'
'About 10,000 wagons a day, including all nations. A mere pittance.'
'Good. They don't have the manpower to seach every rail car thoroughly. Get about 100 RPG's, and hide them in cars, some in the cargo, some under the car proper. Not more than one launcher and three grenades in the same car.
That'll be one launcher per 100 cars. They'll never notice.'

Being a strong allie of Antikristuseke, Hilversum Grandeur will back all actions byt his nation and hereby has issued the order to send a total of 500 Leopard 2A7NL-X5 MBT's, 250 PanzerHaubitze 2000/2004-A5's, 100 Fennek LVB-V2 Recce vehicles, 650 Ulan NL/V18-1-A's, all complete with crew, equipment, and specials like Sparrows, Lions, NightSky's etc etc, to help distribute and protect the aid, and for small exercises. This equipment will move in on it's own power, completely ready to perform all their functions at any given time. Should we meet any obstacles underway the sent equipment has some finely crafted tools, often referred to as 'firepower', to get rid of the obstacle.
In Port-Allanea
Yet another rally was assemled under the Chalrton Heston Monument. Thousands of people, protesting, waving signs.
Friends! Countrymen!
What have we come to? The Federals take our guns, massacre our families, burn our homes, and we stay silent! What’s wrong with us? Why are we submitting?
He scanned the crowd, the ‘FEDS GO HOME!’ banners, the allanean flags, the pickup trucs. Good. Not good enough.
Some of our brothers are already fighting for our liberty. Tell me, why do we need guns for? What is liberty for? Why do we needed it if not to resist such as those Federals?
The crowd roared.
What would our forefathers think is they saw us now?

With the grace and panache that can only come from a man in the direct service of the Crown, he slipped through the crowds around the Charlton Heston Monument, doing all he could to draw no attention to himself. Few noticed him; even in his full tuxedo, with his hair slicked back and the hint of Italian perfume on his collar, he made no point to draw attention to himself. Those who glanced at him could only stare; who wouldn't when observing an agent of such debonair?
With a flick of his hairy brown wrist he produced a crystal glass of white wine seemingly from nowhere. He sipped gently, never letting his stride or the size of the crowd disrupt his savoir-faire. He let the vintage slosh delicately across his palette, savoring the mystery and subtlety of it before gliding it down his throat. His eyes were unwavering; they sought only one man.
And there he was. In the midst of this crowd, Theodore Preston stood waiting, glancing nervously down at his watch. He was told his contact would meet him here. He wanted the best. He got the best.
Preston felt a tug on his pants leg accompanied by, in a dignified English accent, "For the liberation of Allanea and her people. Ook-ook."

The two men on guard had spotted him coming at them for several minutes now, and their guns were instantly leveled at him as he slowly trudged towards them. "Are you part of the Resistance?" he yelled. Behind him, the other men were stirring awake.

Reichsburg, Reichskamphen; Capitol of the Greater Prussian Empire.
"I think it is only a matter of time before the talks with Sentient Peoples collapse. The Emperor did not seem very thrilled with the reception they gave him, nor did he seem especially pleased with the rude manner in which the Ambassadors addressed him." Arch Duke Dietrich von Oberhausen muttered angrily as he poured over a map of Allanea.
"And these nations smugglinng things in will only decay the situation." added Count von Katrineburg, newly appointed heir to the Imperial Throne.
Kyle Paisley, the Emperor's son sat in the corner, his fingers pressed tightly together. "There isn't much we can do to help at this point."
"I disagree," Katireburg replied, "we could always HELP the smugglers."
There was a large, unnerving pause after he uttered his last word. The gathered members of the Imperial Government looked to gague eachothers' opinions by their facial expressions, none wishing to committ to something they would regret unless others were with them. "It's a brilliant Idea." Kyle finally piped in, always first and loudest. "But dad would never approve."
"He doesn't necessarily have to know." suggested Count von Herzenstein, head of the Army. "We could keep it from him. Only do one big run while hes still in FSP. He will never know."
They all contemplated this thought for the moment. Decieving the Emperor? No one would have ever done that to Viktor. But he had killed many and wasn't afraid to do it again. Paisley was a man of God. To some of the less righteos, only a better target.
"Let's do it." Katrineburg finally decided for the group. Mutters of approval echoed his declaration. They all leaned inwards and glanced at the map. He pointed at the map. "Here, here, and here are the best places to sneak in supplies. Mind you they will be looking so we'll........."

"The Sentient Peoples have apparently disregarded our observers plan," President James Newman said as he smoked his cigar. "It's obvious that playing nice until the cows come home won't work."
"Agreed," The Minister of Defense stated. "We need a strong statement of condemnation of how this occupation is being handled by the Sentient Peoples." The President looked at his aide in charge of speech writing.

President Newman stood at a podium, speaking in English so all would understand him: "The Island States has come forward to voice our opinion on the situation within Allanea. It is deplorable that any nation can oppress another nation, regardless of which nation it is, in this manner. The Sentient Peoples' actions within Allanea conflict strongly with our beliefs as the leading nation of an alliance that promotes civil rights and the natural rights of humanoids. To have such action in proximity to our nations is a slap in the face! We call upon the Sentient Peoples to improve the situation and restore the rights of the people as quickly as possible. Until then, we will not publically support their occupation, and will continue to apply diplomatic pressure when it becomes appropriate. Good day to you all."

Atlas Freighter Group, Low Earth Orbit, Over Federation Territory of Allanea, FSP
The Lady Sirithil had been correct, of course. The Federation response was massive. In fact, massive might have been an understatement. Ten Atlas-class superfreighters sat in a low, fast orbit about the planet, moving closer to the point where they would begin to decide the Allaneans’ destiny. They had been waiting nearly six months for this.
The first freighter unleashed its response. Two hundred and fifty thousand two meter spheres began to plummet through the atmosphere. Then the next freighter, and the next, at calculated nine minute intervals. In fact, by the time the first freighter had made it around the planet, it was time for it to drop again.
A near constant rain of blazing spheres fell into the atmosphere, cutting a burning path down towards the rebellious Allanea. The deadly rain came in calculated trajectories, unleashing its deadly cargo with a meticulous precision over the next twenty-four hours.
Forty million Security-2 Combat Robots were strategically deployed faster than anything could be done to stop them. That provided the Federation with one trooper or combat robot for every seventy-odd Allaneans. Even with two million deployed along the land borders, coming close to sealing them completely, there were still plenty to enforce strict Martial Law.
Within a day, violation of curfew became a capital crime. Possession of a firearm became a capital crime. Armed or unarmed resistance was punishable by death. The right to unauthorized assembly was eliminated, and again, punishable by death. And the Federation Military, backed by its Robotic Mercenaries, became judge, jury, and executioner for more than two and half billion Allaneans. Stunners were abandoned completely, as were low power settings on the mazers of the Sec-2’s.
Projections predicted than nearly half a million Allaneans would die from violating the Martial Law within the first week. Federation losses were predicted as neglible.
Down on the surface, the Allanean attacks merely were a nuisance. Sure, nearly a thousand Federation civilians and military personnel were dead, but that was hardly even a fraction of a percent. Roads were sealed around Federal buildings and housing, and nearby buildings forcibly evacuated and sealed.
Occasionally, Federation Space Marines, in full powered battle armor, stronger and more powerful than a main battle tank, were brought in to deal with problems. And even more rarely, Federation Aerospace Command would strike out of nowhere, and a problem would merely cease to exist.
As for the idiotic nations who actively declared military support for the Allaneans…
Their attempts to ship goods into the nation were not even warned. They were simply destroyed, not matter how many missiles it took. Not that B-52s could avoid kinetic kill missiles at measurable fractions of lightspeed. And even less for surface boats. Ground vehicles were just as fair game for the missiles. And if, after the first shipments were destroyed, they did not stop…
Well, it was simply assumed that complete obliteration of the offending military installations from orbit would stop them from continuing a third time.

Hattian senior representative Brusilov to the USR Legislature approached the podium after Mr. Newman stepped down. Speaking with a heavy accent, but in English, he began...
"The Republic agrees with the statements by the honorable Mr. Newman entirely. We do not believe any nation should be under the heel of a foreign power, however, we will not support active intervention in the situation.
Rest assured, people of Allanea, that the Republic stands ready, once the Sentient People's occupation is ended, we will do what we can to help restore life to it's pre-war level."

'What do you think?' - he pointed to his NRA lapel pin.
'Do I look like one of the Federales to you?''
Elsewhere
While most of the shipments where shot down, at least some made it to their target. Others where salvaged from the wrecks of B-52's.
And when the wave of robotic attackers came, the Allaneans where ready - or at least some of them.
What ensued became later known as the Battle of The Robots.
History books would say that only about 1.5 pe cent of the population took active part in the figihtnig. Still, that would mean that the Sec-2's where outnumbered.
The resistance was not coordinated. It came by waves or surprise attacks. A steel-cored rifle round to the optical sensor though a window. A missile attack at the local Federal complex from three miles away. And many of those who did not fight did other things - like cutting the electricity supplies to a Federal office building, the tires in a Federal headmaster's car, or something else of the sort. Most times, they weren't even caught.
Neither could anybody catch the bomb-makers, the food poisoners, the booby-trappers. Oh, they caught some of them. But they didn't have the manpower to interrogate every Allanean - and Allaneans started developing an annoying tendency to shoot at interrogators.

A quick message from the manufacturer:
And as mechanoid robotics technology concentrated more on organic polymers and composites than metals for materials and optronics instead of wires for information transfer and computing, the resulting robots are only marginally less resistant to electromagnetic pulse effects than the organics they work for.
As such, their headaches are only mildly more severe than the ones the humans recieve from the levels of flux involved. More sensitive and unavoidably electronic systems such as magnetotrons for weapons-grade masers and autocannon firing mechanisms remain safely ensconced in their Faraday cages, not to be opened until they have to be fired.
Given the circumstances, that may be sooner than expected.

Federated Territory of Allanea, FSP
Full Marshal Law went into immediate effect, and the shuttles and dropships fell from the sky quickly, seeking their targets. They landed in courtyards and on rooftops, hurriedly evacuating Federation civilians as quickly as they could.
Even still, once Allanea pushed into full revolt, and was declared a warzone by the Federation Government, there was no telling what would happen. For the most part, the Federation Infantry merely pulled back into the bases, while groups of heavy armor and Sec-2’s patrolled the countryside, and the cities.
The problem with piecemeal and wave resistance on the part of the Allaneans was that the individual groups were either horribly outgunned and outmanned by the Federation units they came across, or if they posed an active threat, merely disposed of by airstrikes, dropping napalm and enough ultrasonics to melt a person’s brain. High explosives and fragmentation munitions also found use, as did the mounted particle beams and the HVMs. After all, anything heavy enough to kill a fighter would fry a bunch of people on the ground.
As for the Allaneans, they quickly began to learn what was effective. EMP simply was not, and the best bets were heavy weapons, which the Allaneans had far too few of to make an effective fighting force.
And even if Sec-2’s were dying in job lots, and gross lots, there were millions more, and working with the tanks, the kill ratio was horribly in their favor, for it took two or three anti-tank rockets to even put a hole in a Manticore Main Battle Tank. Meanwhile, that same tank could kill a hundred enemies easily, if not more.
And the Federation completely gave up on trying to limit civilian casualties. If people died, they died. Perhaps the Allaneans should have learned something from Vietnam. America might have failed to achieve its primary objective, but in open warfare, it always won.
Such would be the case in Allanea.

*ADDRESS BY THE IMPERIAL CROWN TO THE PEOPLE OF ALLANEA, SPECIFICALLY THE RESISTANCE FORCES*
*Emperor Ian Paisley's face appeared on the television screen, flanked by the trisword flag of Reichskamphen on his left, and the standard of the Imperial Family on his right. He was old, nolonger appearing to be the bellicose, bullnecked firebrand as in days of old. He was thinner, his hair nothing but a white whisp now, his face hollowed out, but the fire still burned in his eyes. The shell decayed, the soul remained. And when he opened his mouth, the years melted away. Though he was old, he was still the same man, the same firebrand he was 30 years ago, and 40 years ago, because righteousness never alters.*
"Citizens of Allanea, subjects of the Empire, I am here to address you on the subject of the insurgency now plagueing your land. Sentient People's occupation is certainly unneccessary and unwanted by either side. It is certainly not wanted by the Crown of the Greater Prussian Empire. Even now, I am addressing you from a tower deep in the Federation where I have been in meeting with the officials of FSP to discuss the removal of their forces from your sacred soil. I am happy to announce that we are polishing off the last part of an agreement that would do just that and rectify everything on both sides." Paisley took a great pause, his brow furrowing, showing contempt for what he was about to address.
"But this insurgency, this slaughtering of people, both by the insurgents and the Federation is completely unwarranted, and moreover UNCHRISTIAN!" He leaned forward precipitously as if he was going to take a bite out of the audience. "Now remember, it is acceptable to make your protest, TAKE TO THE STREET! TAKE TO THE CITY SQUARES! MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!" He paused allowing the last bellow to reverberate completely before he continued on, "But if you take one innocent life, that is a damnable sin! It is Christlike to protest, don't let anyone tell you it isn't! But it is the WORK OF THE DEVIL to kill any innocents! I address this to both the forces of the Federation and the insurgents."
"Now to the people of Allanea, to the grieving mothers, to the father's without sons, to those of you who are weakened to breaking, to those of you who can't go on, the Lord is with you! Trust in the LORD and LEAN NOT ON YOUR UNDERSTANDING! Yes, that's what the book says! Our understanding is flawed and we see SO little. God is the Almighty Creator of the Heavens and the Earth, and has foreordained everything to his eternal and infallible purpose. There is comfort for you. There is comfort for your aching soul in the bossom of Jesus Christ! Comfort cannot be found in revenge. It is hollow, and blood upon blood MAKES ONLY MORE BLOOD! It never leads to any good!"
"I am by no means a peacenik, but I am one who say's that if your aims can be served without bloodshed, let them be so served! PEOPLE OF ALLANEA, THE CROWN IS DELIVERING YOU!!! THE CROWN WILL FREE YOU!!! The time IS NOT NOW for this insurgency, this filthy, reprehensible violence! You only prolong the time before Imperial Guardsmen replace Federation forces by this senseless killing. I beg you, in the name of the Empire...in the name of Allanea...for the sake of your families and everyone you love...lay down these rifles. Lay down the guns. The Crown will rescue you, the Crown will free you, but unless the violence ends...it cannot. The only one who can decide how long it is before Allanea is free now is YOU! The ONLY ONES who can stop your freedom now are those among you who feel that they need to slaughter God's creations to prove their point. Silence them, stay their hand, and as early as tommorrow, Imperial Guard units will begin to move into the outermost Areas of Allanea, fully replacing FSP forces within a few weeks."
"I also know that many of you are very tied to your former leader Kazansky. I assure you, he is safe and sound in one of my personal palaces on an island retreat. However, authority is not found in Kazansky. Nor is it found in me! Oh it is a great thing that we are not searching for Authority today. And we don't have to turn to any parson or priest, to any Church body, or council to any Important ecclesiastical figure. And we don't turn to hear the so called 'infallible' voice of a Pope, or an Arch Bishop. It is a great thing that we have for OUR authority the INERRING, INSPIRED, INFALLBLE WORD OF GOD! This book never lets us down! It is always just and true, and always tells us the right things to do." Paisley's voice then gained a hushed, awed quality. "Listen to this book, Allanea. Listen to the call of Moses, of Elijah, of Ezekial, Jeremiah....listen to the prophecies of the old testament fulfilled...listen to the call of Jesus Christ. Hear your God calling you to repentence and salvation! Our Saviour was stripped naked, scourged, beaten, and nailed on a tree..." his voice became even more hallowed, "and thank God, he did it for you...he did it for me...."
*The Image of the Emperor faded into black, replaced by the logo of the GPNN, Greater Prussian News Network, as the soft melodious strains of a hymn floated accross the airways into every Allanean and Greater Prussian Home*
"Rock of Ages, Cleft for me. Let me hide myself in thee....."

"No, I suppose not. Lower your weapon, Motori. He means us no harm." The guard at Colm's side lowered his rifle. "So, friend, it appears that you found us, rather than the other way around."
Colm stepped forward towards the man and extended his hand. "Ex-Colonel Colm Giles of the Republic of Ancient Terra...now part of the TNRA. Boy, have we got a delivery for you." He gestured over his shoulder at the crates and bags that were lying inside of the cave. "Assault Rifles, M82 Barretts, RPGs, Body Armor, Nightvision Goggles, Grenades, High Explosives, and a small fortune in foreign currency." He grinned widely. "Ah, and we've got some intelligence on the Federales for you."

*Allanean Border*
"...And rest assured, the mission that you are about to embark upon, is not a useless one! This mission is to safeguard the Empire! This mission is to safeguard the PROTESTANT CROWN! You will work together with these Yutties...because you must. But we will not allow these foreigners...these APOSTATES...these VILLAINS in our land!" Rev. Kyle Paisley preached to the troops. He leaned forward against the podium speaking more quietly. "And I tell you...these people we are dealing aren't merely enemies of the Empire...they are ENEMIES OF CHRIST! They are enemies of everything we hold true...so put on the whole armour of God...and the Apostates, and the Papists, and the Yutties can't touch you...because you have something MORE POWERFUL than they are! You have the RIGHTEOUS INFALLIBLE INSPIRED INERRING WORD OF GOD!!!"
As Paisley's last word rang through the air, the Imperial band struck up the unofficial National Anthem of Greater Prussia, "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God" The stong driving beat of the brass was then backed up by the powerful droning of the massive Organ.
The Imperial Guard units, in full dress uniform, arranged in block form, turned to the left as one unit and began to March out in column of fours. The officers, mounted on elaborately decorated horses followed along side their brigades in the column. It would have appeared like a scene out of the Napoleonic wars if it werent for the enormous tanks whose officers descended, closing the hatches and lumbering out in a column.
As Kyle Paisley watched from the large Balcony high above the formation, Count von Herzenstein leans over to him. "I understand how you feel, my father passed me over for my inheritance as well."
"How are you a noble then?" Kyle inquired.
"I got it in the end." Herzenstein smiled slyly. Paisley returned the smile.

*Reichsburg, Reichskamphen, Imperial Palace*
"So how are the supplies coming" the Duc de Centreville inquired of Arch Duke Napoleon, the appointed Imperial Governor of Allanea.
"Coming fine, they should cross the border tonight." he smiled widely.
They heard a loud repetative beeping coming from the desk. the Duc de Centreville pressed a button, causing a screen to rise up. "Emperor Ian Paisley" the computerized voice announced the caller.
"Hello All." Paisley announced, the screen not exactly repainting fully, causing the video image to lag behind slightly.
The gathered nobles, Duc de Centreville, Arch Duke Napoleon, Count von Katrineburg, and Count von Oberhausen all nodded in response.
"Where's Kyle and von Herzenstein?" Paisley inquired.
"With the troops on the border." the Arch Duke responded.
"Excellent...well we have a deal here. All that we need to do is sign the papers and its all wrapped up I think." Paisley gleefully reported.
None of the Nobles looked at eachother, but they could all sense the universal sinking feeling. If everything was good, then when Paisley found out about their subverting of the military chain...they could lose thier heads.
"That's wonderful!" Count von Oberhausen replied first. He was the oldest among them. He had worked with Viktor, and even Will the Great. He had known Paisley all his life, and knew exactly how to handle them. "We are anxiously awaiting your return. Should we schedule you a time to address the nation?"
"Yes, do so. I'm going to bed." the screen went black and descended into the desk.
"What do we do?" von Katrineburg asked frantically.
"Calm down, Andre." Oberhausen kept a calm tenor. We don't do anything. I will handle it. We simply order the operation halted and destroy the documents. These men aren't merely Imperial Guard, they are the Elite Guard. They keep their mouth shut."
"Why do you people always have to meet in MY office." the Duc de Centreville demanded.

edit: I appologize for attempting to clarify what I thought was genuine confusion.
OOC: Martial Law, not Marshal law.
OOC2: Kazansky is not in Reichskamphen as far as I am aware of, nor have I ever posted anything to this air.
OOC3: Allaneans are not very religious... so I don't think appealing to Christ will benefit any.
OOC4: I am led to believe FSP is jammin unauthorised transmissions.
IC:
Good morning. This is a broadcast by the Allanean News Network.
Estimates are that about three million Allaneans where killed that week, most of them civilians.
Rumour has it that medium-caliber battle rifles are fiinding increased use against Sec-2 robots, especially in conjunction with steel-cored ammunition.
On Atlantic Island
The men where ready.
It was about to be the greatest strike since the beginning of the One-Day W
War.
Several dozen thousand militiamen coverged on the local Federal compound, hidden behind bushes, towing mortars behind camouflaged pickup trucks, machineguns on the flatbeds of SUV's, heavy sniper rifles attached to the saddles of their Harleys - but mostly on foot, crawling from bush to bush, spread out over dozens of square miles, getting ready for a surprise attack.
OOC: I find it strange you keep yelling about Yut, when we're not even involved. READ: SP is not in ToY, and is therefore not a "Yuttie".
Please, please, before you start bitching about us IC, know what you're talking about.
OOC: You did it in the "Secret Meeting" thread and now you are doing it here. Why do you insist on trying to clarify to everyone what Yut is all about? Haven't you ever heard of propaganda? ICly, it possibly serves the interests of Reichskamphen to lump ToY and FSP together for the general Allanea citizenry. For what ends, one can only speculate. Privately, the leaders of Reichskamphen and their secret service are most likely quite aware of the exact nature of the major alliances and groupings within NS.
I apologize for cluttering up this thread with my OOC chatter.
Austar Union
26-09-2004, 16:32
President Grove was more dissapointed than ever. For a while now, he had not been keeping tag of the situation in Allanea, for although it interested him somewhat, it didnt exactly affect matters concerning the Austar Union, and still, he had been busy with the more domestic issues. Such was the life of a world leader, when you are not busy with the issues of the world, you are busy with the issues within your domain. And if you are not busy with them, you are sure to be busy with your own personal life. Of course, world leaders apparently didnt have a personal life, which is what the media seemed to portray.
With dismay, he read over the latest intelligence report concerning the situation which had already unravelled in Haven. Within such compiled reports, details had been documented revealing information concerning the breaking of interational moral standards, including the brutal killing of innocents. In one case highlighted within the reports, it detailed of an entire family, young and old being killed for one man's crimes. Such details depicted the current nature of the Sentient occupation, and with increasing dread the President knew that it had become far from respectable.
Of course, that said; not one actual group of people had the public intent to actually do something against the Sentient military. They were a force proved to be strong, and at least the Austarian Military would be of little match. So in effect, most groups were far too apprehensive to take action, if talking about official authorities. There was one such group however, within the realm of Austarian Society.
With a strong public voice, the Austarian Movement for Allanea, or AMFA for short; they were quite a daring group. Although they were somewhat a small presense, with only a few thousand members, and although they werent particularly wealthy; they did indeed manage to contact representatives of the Allaneans for a Better Future, to remind them of the lax political laws within the Austar Union. Such laws allowed the rogue organisations to exist without hassle, even if they werent that favoured by the government. Not only that, but did the Austarian Movement for Allanea manage to raise huge amounts of funds to be made available to the ABF; especially with the intent to help fund illegal smuggling operations. That said, such details were being kept from authorities, and they were oblivious to it all for the most part.
The Island States condemns this recent action by The Sentient Peoples against Allanea, and unless action is taken to drastically improve the civil rights situation taking place, The Island States will no longer recognise The Sentient Peoples as the legal rulers of Allanea, will recognise the ABF as the organization that is rightfully supposed to rule the former Allanean territories, and freeze monetary assets coming into, and already in The Island States.
"Any such action by the Island States will result in the immediate banning of all trading in Island States currency by ICEL bankers, traders, and investors."
~ Commonality Economic Court/Commonality Executive Council Joint Statement
"The Commonality issues a weak diplomatic protest to the Federation of Sentient Peoples regarding their somewhat heavy-handed responses regarding Allanea.

It is only open and neutral if both sides agree to it, and The Island States will now enforce a zone that we see fit as this point in time. If you so wish to challange this claim, you may do so against 50 Mosquito-class Frigates and two Hattian fleets within the local area. If your vessels are warned to leave the restricted space, and do not take action to leave, they will be countered.

(ISASF 'Mosquito'; TIS Aerospace Precinct)
"Sir, a Ma-Tek satellite has just entered the zone," Sensors Officer Ensign Jones reported to Captain Jonathan Price. The captain thought about it for a while, then tapped his headset for intership communications.
"This is ISASF frigate 'Mosquito' to Ma-Tek satellite," Price called out over the headset. "You have violated The Island States' Aerospace Precinct. Since you cannot leave under your own power without expending fuel, we are going to tow you 15 meters outside of the Precinct. Any attempts to resist towing will not be taken lightly." The captain motioned to the tactical officer, who fired an electromagnetic grappling pad towards the satellite.
The satelite, being an inanimate object and all, doesn't really talk that much. But to the undoubtable consternation of the people trying to grapple it, the tight little EM field surrounding the satelite - which may or may not be recognized as a propulsive MI field - appears to have the effect of pushing the EM grapple away. And every time they change the polarity of the EM grapple, the satelite changes polarity of its EM field, too. It's bound to be annoying eventually.
* * *
Even more annoying is the ICEL warship - noticed only by its massive electromagnetic signature or by mass spectrometers - that rises above the horizon, albeit outside of the 'restricted area'. The warship - a four kilometer long dreadnought that's in the books as a Syrne-class Deep Stand-Off Assault II dreadnought - opens a channel on an unencoded frequency, and states in a bland, mechanical voice:
"Cease your assault on MISAT 4-22-Beta immediately. You are engaged in a de facto piratical attack. Thank-you for your co-operation."
If the TIS ships have satelite support around the curve of the planet, they might well notice the other fifty-nine ICEL warships sitting just below the relative horizon.
[OOC: That's the 4 Stellar Battlegroup. It's not deployed here just to annoy you: it's passing around the planet en route to ICEL Space. And you'd know that, ICly, if you had any knowledge of the recent ICEL-Imitoran War (which was interrupted by Imitora mysteriously sinking beneath the waves/being ignored by myself for acting like a twit). But I couldn't figure out how to put it in the post in such a way as to make sense.
Oh well.]

On board the lead ship of the 4 Stellar Battlegroup, the IDSS Syrnë Ahcarynca (Glorious Eagle, the captain peered at his display with amusement. "What do you think they'll do? I give 4-7 odds they posture, then run like hell when they see the Battlegroup behind us."
Her XO grinned. "I'll take those odds. Fifty Relhames says they carry on trying to grapple the satelite."
"You're on," the captain returned with a nod.

Today, Emperor Taichi Kamiya and Prime Minister Talus Karn issued a joint statement of support for The Island States' exclusion zone.
Emperor Kamiya was quoted as saying: "As long as FSP forces retain a grip over Allanea, we feel that this exclusion zone is necessary to enforce the security of the Republic of Ancient Terra, and our allies in the United Alliance of Progressive States. While we bear no ill-will towards Allanea's liberators, we are somewhat leery at the thought of such a massive FSP force lying only a few thousand kilometers from our borders." He took at breath and continued. "To this end, the Senate has authorized the deployment of 96 AL-52 'Dragon' Airborne Laser Aircraft, to ensure the complete coverage of the Republic of Ancient Terra from any hostile missile launches or attacks by aircraft."
Talus Karn took over at this point, stepping up to the podium. "Additionally, 24 SHB-5 'Whale King' Superheavy Bombers will be placed on standby at the CITADEL Military Headquarters. Thank you for your time. Good day."

Our RISE friend, still as yet undetected simply because he hadn't done anything, was quietly kicking back somewhere in Allanea. He toyed with a flexisheet, which was feeding him all number of goodies picked up by the MISATs sitting above, in a 90 degree-angle position to Allanea. All of the really interesting communications were encrypted, of course, so he couldn't read them. But he stored the data anyway, for later examination... even if his superiors couldn't read it, he was sure there would be something interesting about the data packets. Perhaps some identifying mark, or some particular style to the encryption to identify who was communicating with who - who knew.
Still, he was quite happily relaxed and comfortable, even while the country went to hell in a handbasket around him.

"Attention IDSS Syrnë Ahcarynca, this is the ISASF Mosquito. You will not interfere with our removal of your satellite from our Aerospace Precinct. Give it enough of a tap to knock it out the Precinct. Tactical, retreive the grapple." He tapped his headset until Island States Aerospace Command came over an encrypted channel. "General Reinhardt, we have possible inbounds, potentially in response to their satellite entering our Precinct. We're going to need backup, and notify the Hattians we may need them."
(ISASF Wasp; SpecOps Mosquito-class Frigate)
"This is General Reinhardt congratulating on your mission earlier today, and we have another assignment for you. The 'Mosquito' reports that there are possible inbound vessels on the yellow list. If they make any attempt to cross the Precinct, you are authorized to warn them, and if they do not turn attempt to turn back in 10 seconds, open fire. If they charge weapons, you are directed to take evasive actions and return fire. Is that understood?"

"Get ready to do battle, we sense that it is close."
"Sir, incoming ISASN vessels. It looks to be 2 Asherton-Class Cruisers and 3 Genesis-class Colony Ships," The sensor officer told the captain. "The ISASN Asherton is hailing us." The Captain tapped his headset until the Intership Communications kicked in.

In accordance with the lack of any such concept such as International Law, the Federation kindly asks those nations seeking to influence the Federation’s internal policies through the use of diplomatic pressure to please stop. Also in accordance with said lack of International Law, the Federation condemns those who withdraw their support of the occupation to transfer their support to an organization that incites rebellion within the Federation Territory of Allanea. Under the only recognized International Law, that of de facto sovereignty, these nations are supporting and inciting a rebellion within the legal territory of the Federation of Sentient Peoples, and as such, are committing an act of war against the Federation of Sentient Peoples.
Further, the Federation hereby refuses to recognize the claim of the Island States to deny it orbital space, but will, upon the Island States extremely diplomatic request, refrain from sending manned warships over the Island States physical territory and their territorial waters within the thirty kilometer limit, at least below the three hundred kilometer vertical limit the Island States has requested.
Also, as the Federation Territory of Allanea is currently defined as a war zone by the Federation Government, we regret to inform those demanding ‘civil’ rights for the Allaneans that they will not be forthcoming while the Allaneans continue to act uncivilized, engaging in armed revolt against the Federation Military Forces and Government Representatives in the Territory.
Next, following extensive discussions with the Greater Prussian Empire, the nation in full sovereign control of the Allanean Territory, the Federation Military Presence in the Allanean Territory is deemed to be legal by the Crown of Greater Prussia, an Empire to which the Allanean’s elected representive, former President for Life Alexander Kazansky, willing signed away the Allanean Right to Self Rule and Determination.
As the Greater Prussian Empire has politely requested that the Federation withdraw its Military Presence in favor of Greater Prussian Peacekeeping Personnel, we announce that the Federation Presence in the Allanean Territory of the Greater Prussian Empire will be coming to an end in relatively short order in favor of Greater Prussian Imperial control over the Territory.
Flag Bridge, S.P.S. Capella, Low Earth Orbit, Over the Federated Commonwealth of Peitha, FSP
Fleet Admiral Anson Farragut laughed as satellites orbiting around the Earth, as well as the S.P.S.S. Anglothel, fed sensor data over TacNet to the Flag Bridge, the point from which he commanded every one of the three hundred and twenty ships of the Federation First Fleet. Settling back in his chair, he read the Government’s response, and formulated his own response, playing with an orbital diagram and composing a set of new orders for the four Task Forces of First Fleet.
First Task Force would skim the zone, defined by the Government, not the Island States, along the Northern Side of the Zone. Second Task Force would skim the Southern Edge, approaching, like the First, within one hundred meters of a vertical line drawn from the surface delineation of the exclusionary zone. Third and Fourth Task Forces, would, respectively, skim the Eastern and Western Edges of the Zone.
Not only that, but they would do it on their next orbit, while in full readiness for combat, under Condition Red, but with active targeting off. And they would all do it within two minutes of each other.
He send the orders over TacNet, and sat back. Seventy-five minutes later, it began.
Sixth Army, Second Corps, Primary Base, Atlantic Island, Federation Territory of Allanea, FSP[
The growing concentration of Allaneans was bothering the General in charge of the Sixth Army’s Second Corps, the commanding officer of the four divisions and supporting Sec-2’s occupying Atlantic Island as it was displayed on his command center’s large scale map of the local area. Frankly, their vehicles were giving off an almost embarrassing heat signature, and more than two divisions worth of men and women in simply hunting or combat fatigues gave off an even larger one.
Besides, all the camouflage in the world does not work at full effectiveness when one moves.
Outside, he could hear the remains of forty thousand troopers and about thirty thousand of the nearly one and a half million Sec-2’s deployed on the island getting read for combat. Since much of his forces were out on patrol elsewhere, he was limited to about fifty thousand personnel including the Sec-2’s, which was still a fairly large force.
Just the same, he placed a call, and air support was confirmed. A square ring around the base flashed green. The automated defenses were ready, and as long as the Allaneans held off just a few more minutes, his initial deployments would be set, and when the first Allaneans emerged into the five hundred meter fire break and cleared zone around the base, they would see nothing but an empty set of armored buildings and some slowly rotating automated turrets.

Announcement by Allaneaneans for a Better Future
We mourn the loss of our leader, President Alexander Kazansky, who is rumoured lost in a military accident. We have not, and are not, supporting any terrorism.
However, we are now renaming ourselves, properly, the Allanean Government in Exile. We are not recognising the so-called 'FSP' treaty or it's legality, nor do we recognise the territory of Allanea as anything but United States Territory.
Furthermore, we do not support violent resistance - only peaceful civil resistance and disobeyance.

"Admiral Scott, we have gotten a transmission from the Sentient Peoples. The Sentient Peoples, even though they don't like it, will stay out of the zone. Strategic Command wants you to stay within the zone and move around erratically, charge your weapons and shields to full power, but keep active targeting off," Strategic Command radioed. "We're going to be arming Ground-Launched Anti-Ortillery Missiles, just in case, and active targeting will be controlled by the orbital installations if the time comes. Good luck up there, Strategic Command out."
"That's great, now we just sit around and wait."
---------------------------------
(ISASF Mosquito)
"Just a bit closer... give it .001% forward thrust..." The Mosquito bumped the satellite, the impact moving it's trajectory out of the exclusion zone. "There we are, return us slowly to our last position, I want it to look like we had engine trouble."
Annoyingly, the satelite merely reverses its trajectory back to its point of origin, to an accuracy of 0.007 millimeters.
Unfortunately, the satelite is largely inoperative. It now only has several functioning 'ears', and its MP-beam reception suite remains active - otherwise it would have lost power - but the damage registers as a direct threat to the satelite...
As did the bump it received. One of the ears - a dual-comm unit, consisting of a single communications laser emittor and a radio reception suite - bleats a short, 5kb encrypted data packet - which identifies it as a military transmission about as obviously as if a guy was waving his arms screaming "MILITARY TRANSMISSION!" - on an encoded channel. The data packet, in the form of a series of tightbeam laser bursts, is far too well encrypted to be decrypted within a reasonable period of time. FSP assets listening would note that the 5kb encryption is only ever used by NIOUA, the Nenyan Intelligence Organisational Umbrella Agency, which oversees the entirety of the Commonality intelligence services. A second, unencrypted transmission follows shortly:
"Under attack. Request instruction." The message repeats several times, and, when it fails to receive a response, ceases.
* * *
"Told you so," the XO of the ICEL 4 Battlegroup flagship noted smugly.
"Well, best wait for order-"
"Sir, data packet from High Command," reported the CommOps officer quietly. Everything was quiet on the bridge of an ICEL warship; rarely did a voice raise, for a raised voice indicated a lack of calm. And calmness was required on a vessel that had no defence against a direct hit. If you weren't calm, you were probably quite sane, after all. And what good are sane people in space?
"Acknowledged," the captain rattled off, then swore softly under her breath.
"Bring us to the new, indicated heading. - All ships, this is flag command. Prepare for full acceleration, on new indicated heading. Passive scanners only. PDEF grids hot, I repeat, PDEF grids hot. All gunports closed, repeat: closed."
* * *
One Battlegroup was probably an annoyance. But now that the satelite has bleated its encrypted message, it seems that a greater priority has been given to the situation.
In cislunar space, en route to Earth on the way home following an exercise, the 2 Stellar Squadron swings about and makes haste towards the previous position of the 4 Stellar Battlegroup. Above ICEL, in ICEL Earth Space, within plain view and making no effort to alter that, the 1 Stellar Battlegroup accelerates as hard as she can on a trajectory that carries her out and away from the Earth - and then back again, to arrive from the horizon to the east of the 4 Stellar Battlegroup.
Meanwhile, the 16 Assault Squadron, composed of fifty X# fighter/bombers, launches from the 3 Stellar Battlegroup inside ICEL Earth Space, accelerating far more swiftly. They look due to arrive in a position near the 4 Stellar Battlegroup within about 44 minutes.
From the 4 Stellar Battlegroup's two Fear-x class carriers issues forth the 47 Assault Squadron, composed of 30 eXon interceptors - which are rather tough to spot, on account of their near-lack of electromagnetic signature and their relatively small scanning cross section - and twenty G# heavy strike-bombers.
The 47 Squadron quickly fans out, assuming a defensive posture around the 4 Stellar Battlegroup, which accelerates into a steep curved course correction, carrying it out to a higher altitude stationary orbit in the +atmos427,000km range.
The strike-bombers - fairly large, deceptively-bulky looking craft with no wings - follow closely the 4 Stellar Battlegroup, but the eXons fan out between the previous position from the +atmos310,000km range to the +atmos410,000km range. The eXons are significantly different in style to the other ICEL space superiority craft on show; they look something like a spatial compass, with four 'wings' - two on the horizontal, two on the vertical - plus rather odd looking curved talon-like 'wings' on the diagonals. These wings are part of the outer section of the craft, which is attached onto a jet-black sphere in the centre, which rotates in all three dimensions. The outer part of the craft never seems to move in relation to the inner, but is seamlessly attached to the inner part. How they move is an utter mystery, as there is no obvious engine visible to scaners.
Like the pieces on a puzzle, the ICEL forces converge...
With nary a whisper to inform anyone of what they're doing. But nothing that is done is overtly hostile or aggressive; none of the ships open their gunports, none of the fightercraft or bombers appear to have targeted the TIS or Haiitan ships... Nothing. Nada. Zip.
[OOC: PDEF grid = Point Defence Electron Flux grid.
I'm not listing ship stats at this time for the simple reason that there have been no mentioned active scans of my ships. Without active, sophisticated scans, nothing would be immediately obvious beyond their respective shapes, sizes, and mass..es.]

"We gave it and the ICEF ship warning, time to blow this bastard out of the sky. Prepare to fire missiles..."
"Sir, incoming ships! They came around the Earth's curvature fast! I'm reading possibly several battlegroups closing on our position, but they are not opening their gunports or engaging with active scans."
"Damnit! Flood the local space with radio and microwave band interference, but before you do, let off a signal to the ISASF Asherton: We have major amounts of ICEF ships inbound, requesting TIS and Hattian Fleet rendevous at our last given coordinates. We too, in light of recent events, issue a ban on all FSP and FSP allied ships from using the same area over our country as TIS. We are recalling our Space Navy and deploying a force of the Alpha Type and Beta Type raiders from the Feline Space Station to the space over Haven. We will not allow our allies to be bullied into submission.
We also reject all claims to sovereignty of Allanea except that of the Allanean people. We do not recognize sovereignty of previously democratic countries based on invasion. This is not a special case, if it were, we would be on the other side. However, it is a matter of course for us that we must support the Allaneans, and that there are no special cases.
We would also advise our allies to adopt a more moderate stance over a simple, unarmed satellite. However, we would also advise the other side to adopt a more moderate stance on the moving of this satellite. It is our belief that we all desire peace in this situation. A war over a satellite would not be looked upon kindly by history.

Besides, I do not like it when friends quarrel IC.))
As soon as jamming begins, the ICEL Battlegroup switches to active scanners. Lasers cut through space - low energy ones, virtually invisible - and paint the ships on the other side for a fraction of a second...
But they're communications lasers, searching for an antenna. They carry a message:
"Cease jamming activities immediately. If you do not do so, we will be forced to consider your activities as direct acts of aggression against the Commonality. We have taken no aggressive action and no ICEL military assets have entered your so-called restricted zone.
"However, please be advised that ninety ICEL warships are inbound to take up positions outside the restricted zone. We are informing you now that we are erecting a restricted zone through which no TIS or TIS allied vessels will be allowed to pass, in a 300,000km area around the TIS restricted area. The reasoning is simple.
"We have detected pirate activity inside that area, when an unidentified vessel attacked one of our civilian assets, a science satelite carrying astronomical equipment. That satelite has reported massive damage when a mass of unknown type collided with it. The restricted zone will remain in place until the situation has been resolved and the pirate vessel responsible captured. This exclusion includes TIS and TIS allied civilian vessels; the exclusion zone is entirely for your safety.
"Thank-you for your co-operation in this matter, and we apologize for any inconveniance."
On the ICEL 4 Stellar Battlegroup flagship, the captain smirked. Sometimes, it was a true pleasure to carry out one's duty...

"This is Admiral Scott of the 1st Island States Aerospace Fleet. Our vessel identified itself before attempting to remove it from our aerospace precinct," The Asherton beamed through the interference. "One of your ships already received identification of our ship, and an answer to your claims of piracy. The fact your satellite persists to hover inside the zone indicates that you are attempting to violate the precinct, and we are giving you notice to remove the satellite immediately (in whatever state it is in because of it's resistance to peaceful methods of removal). Refusal to do so will result in the termination of the satellite. Furthermore, we will drop our jamming, but since you peeked, it's only fair we get a good look too." The Admiral motioned to the sensor officer, who began a slow and wide active scan of the ICEL battlegroup.
"If you wish to continue accusing us of piracy, we'll begin accusing your satellite of aggressive posturing and we can take it from there, if that is what you wish." He cut off intership communications abruptly and turned to his weapons officer. "Let's show them we mean business. If their sensors are good, they can detect our anti-capital ship missiles arming, but the launcher doors remaining closed. Bring the ion cannons to full charge and get ready with countermeasures. The treaty had been signed. All accross Allanea the news spread quickly. The day of their deliverance was at hand. Imperial Guard troops on the borders, ready to restore Order and the proper Allanean Government waited anxiously.
They feared that all their efforts at assisting the Allaneans might be met with the same type of resistance the FSP occupiers had recieved. They were prepared to defend themselves, but hoped that Allaneas people were smart enough to differentiate a Liberator from an Occupier.

Meanwhile, outside the Sentient base in Atlantic Island
It was a beautiful, sunny day. Back in the good old times, Michael pondered, Islander Radio would have reported it as beeing ‘A good day for some outdoor plinking’. Today, there was no Islander Radio. It’s spokesman, Anatoliy Chernyakov, was only twenty meters to the left of Michael, with a camere, filming the procedure – another battle in the Second War for Independence.
Michael shrugged as he looked through the scope on his M-82 Barrett. In the x20 Leupold made reticle, he could easilly see the figure of some Sentient trooper, not wearing his armour as usual – due to some on-base sloppiness, probably. He put his finger on the trigger and got ready. ‘I want my life back, dammit.’ whispered Michael.
Before the war, Michael was an engineer on an Allanean Arms automobile plant, making SUV’s for mainland Allanea. A single five-kilogram iron brick ended that. Sure, the acceleration broke the silly improvised ‘weapon’ into at least twenty parts – but it didn’t matter as one of the parts just punched through an oil storage tank on the factory grounds.
About five hundred meters behind Michael, his wife, Angela, prepared her weapon – a Soviet-spec guided missile launcher. Her daughter, Julia McKinley, helped her feed an FAE missile into the device. Then, they waited.
The entire monstrous crowd of militiamen waited. And then someone – nobody knew who – lost his nerve, firing a 14.5mm PTRD rifle at one of the turrets, unleashing a hell of three HE-IT rounds at it. Then, all hell broke loose. Militiamen fired off a round or two at some target inside the base, then switched position, and fired again. The protective turrets were subject to especially heavy fire, their surface shaking from mortar explosions, rifle rounds, and even hand grenades.
Then, a new shape appeared on the horizon: that of a couple of home-built Pitts Special aerobatic aircraft, flying at the base, spraying down the turrets with 20mm rounds from Annihilator infantry machineguns [OOC: That is very possibl. Look up a Pitts Special].
And the battle began, in earnest.
OOC: So are you, Auman.

Soon, the air of Allanea was filled with Imperial Jets as the only Gravship in the Imperial Fleet, the RNV Will Thompson II, began to hover over the country. The motors of the tanks on the border began to stir as the Imperial Guard units lumbered forward, freeing the first few square miles of Allanea.
Tension was high as they knew they were near to coming in contact with the First FSP troops. The transition would be smooth. They were sure of that. What they weren't sure of, is whether or not the terrorists would try to kill them or not.
Mark Alexander, 23, sat on the front of a tank as it rolled through a small hamlet surveying the people that came out to watch (OOC: you provide their reactions) His wife was giving birth back in Cav, and he wanted to be there more than anything, but he was a member of the Imperial Guard, and his Emperor needed him. Though how he longed to see his little daughter's face.
Richard Sabinsky smiles uncomfortably as he surveys the Guard forces enter the village. He thinks of the rifle he has stashed away in his basement. If he wanted to, he could kill one of two of those 'Guardsmen'. They were much less armed - or armoured - than Los Federales.
But he decided against it. 'Let's see if they are who they say they are, first'.

The base seemed to explode. Or at least, that's what would probably be reported by any survivors of the first two minutes of combat.
As the first rounds flashed in, the turrets opened fire, and literally began to cut through stone and wood and ground, as well as metal and flesh with a buzzsaw of firepower. Along each side of the base that was under assault, one hundred grav-pulse turrets began to unleash a horrific toll. Each barrel sit out ten rounds a second, and each turret had four barrels. Each of these rounds traveled at nearly two thousand meters per second, and each ten millimeter round exploded on contact with something more solid than air. The turrets merely swept back and forth in overlapping arcs.
From inside the base, missiles that functioned on the same idea that had wiped out the Allanean infrastructure, lept upward as energy states, three or four per incoming home built plane.
And then, as the turrets began to die under the brutal pounding, the other turrets arcs of fire merely expanded, trying to to leave any holes. Inside the base, squads of troops and combat robots rushed towards the points that seemed weakest, ready to plug the gaps with their highly mobile firepower.
And a little deeper inside the base, a regiment of tanks roared to life, preparing to engage.
Elsewhere in Allanea, the Allaneans were perhaps surprised as the Federation troopers pulled back into their bases, leaving naught but the massive ranks of robots to stand guard, with shoot on sight orders for anyone not wearing an Imperial Guard Battle Dress Uniform.

All over Allanea nearly 75% of the entire Imperial Guard, around 5 million men replaced the withdrawing FSP troops. Each division sent officers under the white flag to the FSP bases requesting the withdrawal of the robotic soldiers. The only places that FSP still directly controlled other than the military bases were Hestonia and Atlatica Island.
*Atlantica Island*
An Immense Task force from the Imperial Navy steamed to within a mile of Atlantica Island. The battle group was quite large, but the largest part were Leipzig Class Transport Ships that seemed to stretch as far as the Eye could see. Many of these transport ships were quite old, some as many as 50 years. However, despite that fact, they were not outdated. Many of the ships had seen some 10 large campaigns come and go, and even some were formerly named Iesus Class ships when Reichskamphen was in the Reich.
Inside the ships were nearly one million Reichskamphian Troops, not affiliated with the crown, as well as armour vehicles and supplies. There was one ship in the fleet that stuck out like a sore thumb. It looked more like a futuristic Cruise Ship, only about twice the size of current cruise ships. The gleaming white hull of the ship was accented by Gold plated, almost baroque scupturework. The decks were of solid Mahogany and all every part of it was dripping with elegance. This was the floating Palace of the Leipzig-Thompson house. Almost the entire Imperial Family was onboard. Except there were no Paisleys. Emperor Ian was in Reichsburg and his sons were in Scotta. On board were the nobles whose families had been nobles for 300 years, and the nobles who had been nobles for about twenty from Viktor's reign. The "Ancien Regieme" overlooked the newbies as they united together in their disgust with the clearly lowerclass Paisley.
A message came to FSP HQ from the ship.

OOC: Frankly put, I’m tired of Allanea and his crap, so this post fast forwards to the ending of the power transfer. Consider Allanea now a complete possession and territory of the Empire of Greater Prussia from this point forward.
Sixth Army Base, First Corps, Allanea Proper
Wind whistled through the emptiness. Sprawling miles of barracks and other military facilities lay exposed to the elements, empty of habitation. In fact, they were nothing but empty shells now, all the trappings of occupation stripped away. Gone were the reactors and the stationary guns. Gone were the hover tanks and the armored troops. Gone, was, in fact, everything but the buildings, resembling closely concrete blocks.
In fact, if one had no known that these buildings had belonged to the Federation post-Zero-One bombardment, one might have thought they survived from another era, an era when Allanea was free, so clean had they been stripped.
Fifteen bases, including this one, sat empty, exposed, the only remnant of the Federation’s time in Allanea, over a year spent trying to occupy the country. Time wasted completely on a country repeatedly proved unwilling to learn, to change.
Perhaps the Greater Prussians would have better luck, but forecasts in the Federation ranged from six months to two years at the outside before war broke out again in Allanea. If that war spread, the Federation would respond appropriately, and remove the threat for good. Allanea would die if it ever attempted to disrupt Earth or Mars, or anywhere else, again. There would be no third chance for the Allaneans, not their government nor their people.
But the Federation was gone now. In the last year, especially once open fighting had broken out, it was estimated from combat recorders that nearly one hundred million Allaneans had died from the Federation’s unwillingness to even attempt to preserve non-combatant lives. Entire cities had been burned from the map while surrounded by regiments, slaughtering any who tried to escape.
The Allaneans would not be a threat for quite some time on the international stage, despite their unbroken spirit, the only thing that had, against their will, impressed the Federation. Still, the stupidity evidenced by the resistance and the Allaneans in general, fighting a nation that was trying to help, far outweighed this impression in public opinion.
But the Federation had withdrawn now, turning over the problem to the Greater Prussians, who seemed to want it. They were welcome to it, for the Federation would expend no more blood and treasure on the Allaneans. Proportionally, the Federation’s losses were even lower than the Allaneans, but still, a precious division of the Federation’s powerful Ground Force had been lost, and then even more. That hardly counted the Security-2 Combat Robots destroyed. Five million beyond repair, most beyond even scrap. Another ten million damaged beyond combat capability without repairs. A further fifteen damaged to minor degrees.
All thirty-seven million of the survivors were being evacuated on the same freighters which had delivered them into combat, returning them to Zero-One, giving the mercenaries a rest at last.
Sealed Letter Brought on a Shuttle to the RNV King Louis-Recois, Along with a number of cargo boxes
Arch Duke,
I’m afraid I’m going to have to decline the invitation to meet with you, so included with this is an update on Allanea. Now that the Federation troops are withdrawn, your troops should be able to be able to move into the bases we left empty, but they should not enter without the small transceivers included in the boxes accompanying this letter. Should anyone enter without one, the automated booby traps we left behind to keep the Allaneans from messing up your new homes will probably kill them.
Also, attached to this are the command codes for the destruction charges wired throughout the parts of the Allanean infrastructure that we rebuilt. These codes are hardwired, and cannot be changed.
Further, the situation in Allanea appears to be one of shock, both at the massive death toll and the sudden withdrawal of our presence there. I suggest you move quickly before this feeling wears off.
Allanea possesses about a sixth of its industrial power that it had before the bombardment, mostly heavy industry of the sort needed for rebuilding, though the transportation networks are nearly rebuilt. Unfortunately, the speed at which they were rebuilt by the loaned track generators nearly guarantees a sloppy job. Undoubtedly, they will need replacement as soon as possible.
I wish you luck, Arch Duke. The Allaneans are an ornery people, and will not take kindly to the guidance they need.
~Minister Belinda Ranwell, Territorial Affairs Directorate (Ret.)
P.S. Any questions you have should have answers in the documents found in some of the cargo crates on the shuttle this came on.
OOC: TG me if you have any specific questions.
ANN- It seems that despite the heavy economical damage caused by the occupiers, despite the millions of slain and despite the hundreds of thousands unemployed, Allaneans are still celebrating. Even despite the economical damage, they are happy. For they are free.
The Allaneans have achieved a 1 to 6 casualty ratio – in the enemies favour, but it was far better than what happened in Vietnam. We have defeated the strongest fighting force in the world. Tanks versus hunting rifles, combat robots versus shotguns, citizen-soldiers versus helicopter gunships, WE HAVE WON, citizens.
Our Greater Prussian allies will aid us in the rebuilding of our economy, military, and infrastructure. They will help us onto the great road which lies to success. But we had to make the big step ourselves. And the person fired the first shot at the Federal stormtroopers, did it. Today, after sixteen months of occupation, Allanea is free.
(OOC: 1 to 6? 1 to 50 000+ sounds more like it, and all of those FSP troopers died out of laughter. But considering that all of your people are mindless, slobbering idiots, I can see them buying the "official" Allanean ratio. And I bet they'd buy it that the idiots who were shooting at the "enemy" with whatever slingshots they had actually made a difference.)

OOC: For those of you wondering what the real loss ratio was, it was approximately 1:8333 in the Federation's favor. I am unsure how Allanea got a one to six ratio with the numbers I gave. His death toll to my casualties total, (including Sec-2's) is about 1:3 in my favor. If you just count Sec-2's destroyed and my soldiers killed it's about 1:20 in my favor. If you count Sec-2's destroyed and damage beyond combat capability and my soldiers killed, you get a 1:6.7 ratio. That's the closest I can get to the Allanean number.
If you're wondering, I'd estimate about another 150 million injured for the Allaneans, and suffered about 40,000 injuries among my soldiers. So total casualties (organic only) on both sides ratio at 1:4807 in my favor. Including all destroyed and damaged Sec-2's in my number gives a 1:8.3 ratio in my favor.
But seeing as how the sub-sentient Sec-2's are weapons, and not people to worry about, I could've lost twice as many and still not cared. Or even ten times as many. (Though that would've been expensive.)
OOC: Oh, 6.7 and not 6. Whichever.
(OOC: I just have to comment on your idiotic sig, so, here goes.
"Prevention" of Allanean independence: OOCly, I'm quite sure that FSP's player just wanted to try to get Allanea's player change his very fscked up ways, which he didn't do. You could call this a complete failure. Allanea is as warmongering and insane as before, so all in all, it was all pointless. Ignoring Allanea enmasse would have worked much better.
Massive re-education of Allanea: Failed. Of course it failed. Allaneans are too stupid to be educated, period. They were proven to be nonsentient during the course of FSP's rule.
Prevention of Allanean Space Colony establishment: On Mars, the prevention of building said colony succeeded quite well. If you have built one somewhere else, that's your business. Or if you cheated, and just created some puppet and claim it's you after getting the OK from some Martian nation, you're just puppet wanking. *points at "Great Valaquine", which has been proven to be a puppet of the player of Allanea* As such, you can't claim to have an "Allanean Space Colony" if that is what you mean. Or hell, I guess I could claim that my other 3,75+ bil nation is really a part of Ermor, which would mean over 3 and a half billion more undead. Which is fine by me.
Reduction of Allanea to Iron Age: Succeeded. Allanea just wanked himself back to normal in record time, just as I and many others suspected. Complete annihilation of Allanea was advised. Said advice was rejected, although it would have made everyone's lives a lot easier as can be seen now.
Disarmament of Allanean public: Would have succeeded, if Allanea had accepted the fact that he had lost. It didn't. Not even before a massive force that could've destroyed the nation a hundred times, but instead restrained itself from doing so. Obviously, a mistake was made.
Conclusion: Since Allanea's player acts still exactly the same way he did before he got his ass beaten to hell, ignoring him is advisable. Utter and complete destruction of Allanea could work also, but it is probable that Allanea would claim that 99,99% his people somehow OMG SURVIVED TEH THING, and would rebuild in a few weeks or a couple of months, and be even more extreme than he was before, as he is apparently doing now when he just survived a frikkin occupation he brought on himself.
Would that be worth the effort? No. Was what FSP did worth the effort? I doubt it.
This post was brought to you by someone who is tired of this crap and of Allanea's idiotic, provocative sigs.)

Statement by Arch Duke Napoleon Charles Francois Joseph de Sanglant, Imperial Governor of the Protectorate of Allanea:
"The occupation by FSP was ineffective. It was ineffective because FSP's methods were not the correct ones for turning heads and changing minds. Granted, the firm stance backed up with force was necessary and the Empire does not fault FSP for taking that stance, and it can be assured if one Imperial Troop even so much as gets bruised by an Allanean it will be the stance the Empire takes as well.
However, we have a differant plan. The leadership of Allanea is the problem. The people of Allanea merely looked at the occupying force as expressly evil, and as a result, gained even more favourable opinions of Kazansky, who they liked to begin with. Now it is time to paint the picture of the real Kazansky, unedited, untouched, unmeddled with. We will show the people that their President, despite his many beneficial actions internally in Allanea, was a danger to world peace and was a danger to everything good and decent.
But this will not be our primary objective. Actions change minds more than words. Our primary objective will be the rebuilding of Allanea and the election of a new government. Until such elections take place, the present surviving governors of the provinces of Allanea and Corporate Moguls that are seen as acceptable and beneficial to its reconstruction will be dubbed Counts (for the smaller provinces) and Arch Dukes (for the larger ones) by the power invested in me by the Imperial Crown. There are at present, two provinces for which leaders cannot be found. As such, Count Helmut von Wikenstein and Arch Duke (Duc) Guillaume de Centreville from the Prussian Imperial Court shall temporarily head them, yet not claim a right to the noble position of the province. Once suitable leaders are found, they shall return home.
Furthermore, by the power invested in me by the Imperial Crown I am changing the official designation of Allanea from Protectorate of the Crown, to Libertarian Kingdom in order to emphasize that this is not an occupation, but a reconstruction and a return to the beneficial policies of the old days with an exclusion of the older damaging policies.
The forward looking and beneficial Libertarian policies of the Kazansky government will be retained and the populous WILL NOT be disarmed as it is necessary for all to be armed to preserve freedom.
Just this morning, Emperor Paisley announced that I would be dubbed King of Allanea, a title that will disappear after democratic elections are held in five months to one year from now.
Imperial Corporations will now begin to move hundreds of factories into Allanea in order to provide jobs for the people and get them off the streets as well as to strenghten their economy. The shards of Allanean Arms will be pieced backtogether and they will be grafted on to Kreigscorp, the Imperial Arms Manufacturer temporarily until they are revived. Allanean companies will recieve contracts from all over the Empire and other places as well as we seek to Improve Allanea.
The main change between the policies of Kazansky and myself is that I cannot yet allow for the reforming of the Allanean Army as it may threaten my troops. However, I am ready to organize a type of Allanean Army. Officered by Imperial Guardsmen, the Allanean Division of the Imperial Guard will soon become the largest military presence in Allanea if Allaneans volunteer. This will provide the opportunity for the foreign elements of the Guard to exit and return to other duties. When a suitable, properly elected government is in place, the Allanean division will begin a phase out as its members are integrated into the Reformed Allanean Army. The proper numbers for the division before phase out we hope to be around 4 million (not a real division, more like an Army), and after the phase out, we hope to keep on around 50,000 to 100,000 men.
The Imperial Guard are the friends of Allanea and the friends of the Libertarian ways. We must strive to work together, for the more we do, the sooner Allanea can be running under its own steam again."
Arch Duke Napoleon Charles Francois Joseph de Sanglant
Prince Imperial Temporaire d'Allanea (In other words soon to be corronated temporary King)
Thousands of Allaneans have responded to the call of the King. Copies of his message, with any reference to that the Kingdom is only a transitionary state unerlined and highlighted, are hanged out everywhere.
Bruce Wolf, commander of the Aissur Constitutional Militia in South-West Allanea, puts down his copy and turns to his second in command:
‘OK, Joshua. Get a-rollin’. We’re accepting a new chain of command.’
Within minutes, members of the militia are rushing towards their cars and grabbing their weapons. Soon enough, a long, long escort of trucks, SUV’s, pickup trucks and bikes is moving towards the state capital.
‘Someone, call New-Anchorage, well you?'

After the new King of Allanea arrives on the mainland from Atlantica island, he immediately heads toward the Militia's base, having been contacted by Ministry officials in New Anchorage of their intentions. He is escorted by the Lignum Crucis Division of the Reichskamphian Royal Guard.
The heavily armoured motorcade, guarded by Reichsfuhrer XXI-G Elite Class Tanks arrive at the HQ as the King steps out, completely covered by Royal Guard. Orders are sent to the militia leader to disarm so they could speak and approach under a white flag.
IC:
What can only be described as a roaring sonic boom is heard in southern Allanea, but as the country is still presumably somewhat lacking in radar detection equipment, the mystery of the sound is likely to hold for some time.
It's unlikely a few smashed windows will really be noticed. If there are any intact windows in Allanea anyway.
[OOC: As Allanea actually claims to ignore me now, I'm safely removing my RISE agent. Sorry, Reichskamphen; it would've been fun trying to get past any detection system you already have in place, but it wouldn't really make sense to just say he was never there and I'm not actually wanting to withdraw him - the ignore is simply forcing me to do so, so I'm laying down an IC withdrawal for the purpose of continuity.]
Bruce smiles as he takes off his weapons and gives them to his second-in-command and walks out of his pickup truck - or, rather, 'command car'.
"Okay, fellas. Let's see what they want."

"Good sir," the Arch Duke began, "I have come to ask your help...in saving your country. You are in a unique position, where you can secure the future of your land and return it to glory! As I am sure you have seen, I am forming an Imperial Guard unit called the Allanean Division. I am prepared to offer your men free training and weapons, if you require them, when you join the guard. It is the most patriotic thing one can do. It will help facilitate us getting the hell out of here and you exercising self rule once more."
The Duke awaited the answer of the Militia commander.
"I will be glad to serve my country in any way possible", replies the commander. "Even though I am not a military man by upbringing. I am but a teacher. You may want to look for people who served in the Army before the war and recruit them. Particularly one Major Benning. He would be a better commander of this for than I am."
