A Private Little War

Picture Europe as seen from space in your mind. No borders are visable. No politics are seen. Everything looks calm as a front moves slowly across the continent.

Looks can be decieving.

Skye, Crimmond.
(Formerly known as Warsaw)

"Get out of my office, Oran, before I have you shot!

"Try it! It will only turn the people against you."

Thus was the meeting between Administrator Delta, Emperor of Crimmond, and Riok Oran, former Warlord of Baggera and Head of the Crimmond Imperial Party.

Enemies when they were world leaders and enemies as political leaders. Some things never change.

Delta stood and pulled out his gun, aiming it at the creature before him. Oran was humanoid, but that's where the comparison to human ended. Reptilian, slimy under armor that reflected and refacted light into a dark rainbow of colors. He stood as well and hissed behind his mask, one good eye watching Delta carefully. Delta was a large man, intimidating and ruthless. He had appeared less than a year before becoming leader and just about controlled the Black Staff.

"Pull the triggar, Administrator. I don't fear dying. If I did, I wouldn't have killed Var'chak and taken his place in Baggera. the Imperial Party would lose a leader, but gain the support of the people like never before." The reptiallian laughed, a rasspy, grating sound.

The gun lowered and two gaurds stepped up, escorting Oran out without a word. As the door closed, Delta sighed.

Skye Eastern Aerobase

A Scarab-Class shuttle touched down on the pad, three people exiting and entering a waiting car.

"Dagger, you are released for the week, unless something important happens. Do not vanish again."

The armored man nodded. His helmet was metal, constantly grinning a twisted grin. His armor was covered in bladed weaponary.

"Ghost, I will escort you to the gates. I have to report in to General Santiago before going to the Palace." The Royal Gaurd Major said, helmet in his lap.

Ghost, the ceramic masked woman in white cloaks, nodded. "Very well. I'll be meeting with Oran. Delta won't know what hit him... This will blow the lid of the Black Staff for good."

Boom. Smash. Boom. Smash. Boom. Boom. Smash. Boom.

The sound of ortillery fire striking the Earth echoed across the military base. Soldiers stopped drills to watch the near molten metal rip through the atmosphere at ultrasonic speeds and strike the ground hard enough to be felt ten miles away.

The Javalin Class Ortillery Craft in orbit were calibrating their equipment and their crews.

-------------

Three miles away, in Skye, the sonic booms and earthquake like vibrations didn't faze the populace. They were too busy to care, since they were told it was military training.

Ghost, Dagger, Delta and Oran all were watching though. Ghost from her apartment in Downtown, Dagger from a rooftop, Delta from his palace and Oran from an office building.

-----------------

"Delta is using this to show the strength of the military he seized. Anyway, we have to expose Delta for what he is. A beast from Automagfreek. Technically, we could call him an illegal alien." Oran spoke to one of his advisors. "When, though?"

-------

"Where is Riok?"
"In the Imperial Offices, madame."
"Good. If he is working for the party, he will not suspect."
"Yes, madame."
"Soon, I will be ruler of this nation..." Ghost turned away from the window and looked at the aide, a woman that had been in her service for years. "Again. Then Riok and Delta will be finished for good."

A man walked through the palace. He was wearing a Marine uniform, looking throughly annoyed. He was annoyed at having to wear it. Damn Delta and his whole regime to Hell. Stupid no fly zone...

Major Vigil Hilts(formerly retired and now doing his former jobe before that, albeit with a promotion), Head of Palace Defense Squadron, strode down the corridor and out into the fresh air.

He was suprised to see Ghost stepping off a transport. He walked towards her and nodded. "Welcome to the Palace, Madame."

She pasued and looked at him for a long few second. "Hello, Virgil." She says and walks on without another word, leaving him stunned. He knew that voice. At least... he thought he did.
