Expedition to the Forbidden Land
Deep within Aerion there is a land known only to outsiders as the "Forbidden Land", and those outsiders that know of it are few. It is a land that is hidden deep within the Aerion deserts in the Western Hithion on Sisgardia, beyond the plains. This area has sometimes been called the "Area 51" of Aerion, for it is one of the most secured locations in Aerion. It has been declared a special district by the Crown, and is under protection of the Royal Guard as well as an elite Special Ops Brigade of the Royal Army only known as the "Desert Guardians". A massive chainlink fence surrounds the entire 10,000 square mile area, with heavy tanks, fortifications, and armed guards protecting the area. No one knows what they protect, and as the area is literally in the middle of nowhere, in a massive desert, no one knows why the Royal Government has chosen to spend so much to protect what is seemingly a useless piece of land. Beyond the chainlink fences are large range of desert mountains, and the area around the mountains is known for its severe sandstorms which block any sensor readings. Any knowledge on the area is not classified below Confidental, or even Secret. Even then, it is limited to a select few. The public does not know much of what was here before, as there were few expeditions to the area, and those expeditions usually did not come back. The majority of the public do not know of this area, and it patrols turn most curious people away before they even reach the fence. The only way any one would want to go that deep into the desert is to know of it.
Professor Kaladon Ereiw of Anthropology at the Royal University of Aerion has been given special Royal Permission to enter the Forbidden Land. Without the knowledge of the King, he has invited several international authorities from other nations to also accompany him.
((OOC: This is an open RP. Those wishing to join the expedition, please post your intention, and I will most likely accept. State your character or characters going, and their specialities. This will be a VERY interesting expedition.))
