Olympic Games - IOC nomination

Following the deletion of the proposal "Olympic Games" by the mods in the UN, I have decided to continue this on anyway.
This thread is for the nomination of members to the International Olympic Committee. This committee will discuss the operation of the games, candidates for host nations, and events to be played in the games on an off-site forum yet to be created. They will also assist the chosen host nation in running each Olympic Games here on the NS forums.
If you wish for a nation to have a post in the IOC, nominate them below. You may nominate yourself. Upon nomination of a nation, I will contact them as soon as I can to let them know. Then, they shall come to this thread and accept or decline the nomination. Once accepted, the nominee becomes a candidate. If we have more than 7 candidates by September 3rd (one week from now), there will be a vote to decide who will be in the IOC. If there are less than 7, the games will be abandoned.
There are currently 4 candidates:
Hersfold
Mikitivity
Svetsonvilleland
and Milkshak
There is currently a standing (not accepted or declined) nominaion for Komokom as well. Komokom, please answer your nomination.
If you wish to know more about these games, please check this thread. (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=352120) Please keep in mind that these games are now open to all nations, not just UN members.
May the nominations beg... ah, continue.

The nation of Castillanos is deeply sorry about the loss of your proposal, as we have been watching over it and planning to vote for it. Our nation is also interested in the IOC, so there for we nominate ourselves for a position in the IOC.
RP doesn't go in Gameplay.

Starblaydia wishes to be considered for the IOC
Krytenia
27-08-2004, 23:06
Krytenia wishes to be nominated for the IOC. We point to our forthcoming hosting of a Regional Olympics in Atlantian Oceania as a reason for this.
We also would like to second the nominations of Vilita and Starblaydia, if this is possible.
Webombu Would like to be Part of The IOC.
Esth would like to be in the IOC
Kochbald

Wow. That's a lot. Sorry it took so long for me to get back, everyone, I was out for the weekend.
Anyway, I will start with answering questions...
Myrth - Sorry about that, and thanks for the move.
Tomzilla - Check this (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=325334) thread.
And now for the overwhelming responses...
The following Candidates are accepted, and will be included in the now forthcoming vote:
Castillanos
Vilita
Starblaydia
Krytenia
Webombu
Esth
Kochbald
New Zambuda
and Tomzilla
We still have a standing nomination for Komokom.
Edit: I have now set up the IOC forum. If you wish to have a look at it, it is not quite finished, but here is the url:

If you do go take a look, please do not register yet. I am still working on finding a good skin and some images for it - I hope it will be up by the time the IOC gets elected.

What's wrong with an off-site forum? I chose to use one instead of hosting the IOC here so that the IOC could discuss issues without interference.

Menelmacar nominates Menelmacar.

There are practical reasons, such as people using multiple computers and needing to move bookmarks and passwords between them, especially with shared computers and scuh.
Generally things that move to off-site forums die a long, slow, painful death, with the exception of Regional Forums. A simple IOC Discussion thread should be all that is needed.

We would certainly love to be a part of the International Olympic Committee, and nominate ourselves, if that is allowed.

Starblaydia, the majority of the Olympics will remain here - the host nation will effectively be the link between the administrative IOC forum and the public NationStates forums.
And Menelmacar, while I hate to fuss at a mod - self-nominations are considered immediately accepted. ;)
The entire list of IOC candidates is now as follows:
Hersfold (me)
Mikitivity
Svetsonvilleland
Milkshak
Castillanos
Vilita
Starblaydia
Krytenia
Webombu
Esth
Kochbald
New Zambuda
Tomzilla
Menelmacar
Callisdrun
This brings the total list of candidates to 15. There is still one standing nomination, whose nominee has been contacted and asked to accept or decline within a day or so. Due to the high number of candidates, more than double the membership of the IOC, I have decided to advance the vote to begin tommorrow, August 30th. Nominations will continue until 3:00 PM EDT (7:00 PM GMT - I think), and at approximately that time, I will close the nominations and open a vote. The vote will continue for a week, with each nation casting only 1 vote. At the end of the week, I will tally the votes and the 7 highest-voted nations will be inducted into the IOC. In the event of a tie for 7th, I will figure out what to do then.
So, if you wish to be in the IOC, nominate yourself NOW!

Weel... since no one else nominated anyone, and Komokom has informed me that he will decline the nomination,
I HEREBY CLOSE THE NOMINATIONS FOR THE IOC.
A link will be provided shortly to the poll.

Worst. Idea. Ever.
If you're going to organize a full blown sporting event, especially the olympics, get something more than Masserat's tournament under you belt. I've been participating in World Cups since WC3 (we're on 17 now), as well as other tournaments, including the FHWC, U21WC, etc. I, for one, as a member of the sports community, will take nothing to do with _this_ IOC or Olympics, and if one shall arise from someone more prestigious and with more experience, then I'll consider it.
Thanks!
