Wraith's Fury

OOC: This is highly classified, so I will simply outline the basics. This shall only be known by others OOCly. Any use of this information IC'ly will get you nothing but a swift *ignore*.

Four years ago, a local scientist discovered a magnificent power source. When charged with an extreme amount of electricity, say, 36 Gigawatts, such as power from a fusion reactor, the metallic substance Nordlundium turns dark-blue, with random white spots, much like a Cow's skin, except more rough in appearance. What's even more astounding is that during this change, a large bolt of energy is released. If the bolt is targeted and focused on a small area, it could have the destructive power of a large nuclear device.

Nordlundium is currently not used in Foe Hammer vessels, but Foe Hammer Shipyards has signed a $300,000,000,000 contract to apply a thin 2-inch layer to 48 recently-constructed Omaha-class GravBattleships and overhaul the onboard Fusion reactors, as well as add two more, to generate the power to both operate the vessel's systems and power the Nordlundium energy weapon. The total power being generated by the reactors will be approximately 50 Gigawatts. (12Gwatts each from overhauled reactors, 13Gwatts each from newer, better reactors.)

Remember, this information is purely for your OOC knowledge.

Also OOC knowledge: The outfitting will finish just in time to test it on a certain organization...

*CoughTWCough*

Excuse me.

Mmmmm....Gigaton......

Mmhmm.

Reuseable, of course.

Takes a few minutes to recharge, but it's much cheaper and much more effective. It's also a bit more controlled than a one-gigaton Nuclear device. The power can be focused to an area as small as a ten foot by ten foot square. That would, of course, cause massive damage to the planet and glass that area.

It also makes excellent toast. A bit charred, but still good.

I am open to any questions or comments. If something doesn't sound right in the design, feel free to bring it up in this thread.

Conservation of Energy

1 Gigaton ~= 4.186e18 Joules
2 Gigawatts = 2e9 Joules per second

t = E/P = (4.186e19 J) / (2e9 J/s) = 2.093000000 seconds

=> 581388.9 hours or 24224.54 days or 66.36859 YEARS

That is your recharge time.

Massive violation of the laws of physics fixed. o_0
The force put out is now rather general, and the power has been drastically increased.

Also, as a side note, the weapon's shot is about 1000m in diameter when four ships channel their energy into a single shot. When a shot is focused on an area of about 100 sq. feet, the destructive force can reach a few megatons.

The 48 vessels carrying this weapon have been completed, and four have been dispatched to a conflict on Earth.

The vessels armed with the Wraith Supercannons have been completed, and dispatched to their assigned fleets.
