Alexander walked around on the palace terrace pondering thoughts on nations that Credonia has been in conflict with over the years. Austar Union came to mind and he took a deep breath.

"Damn, that was a great alliance. Cant believe they were so hasty to close relations and in such a way." he thinks to himself.

"I suppose i can initiate open relations. I wonder if an alliance can come out of it." he continued thinking befoe hastily turning around to walk back to the palace.

Once inside he headed for his office. He reached his desk, sat down and begain writing a letter.

From: Alexander Nicolas Sutton, President of the United States of Credonia
To: Edward Grove, President of the Federal Republic of Austar Union

Mr. President, I have been pondering relations between our two nations and I believe that relations have been closed betwen us for far too long. The events of the past were unfortunate and perhaps the actions of both of us were a bit hasty as neithr side understood the immense pressure that was exerted on each other, which caused the immediate ceasation of relations and a breaking of our long standing alliance, a symbol of power, democracy, and freedom, and one that shined brightly in the middle of the international community. We stood side by side for many many years and endured many many hardships together, we fought together, we planed and plotted together, and we reaped the benefits of a prosporus and very close relationship. Perhaps that could be rekindled to some extent. Therefore, with that being said, I invite you and your family and your cabinet to Credonia to open relations and talk about prospects for the future. We hope you are interested. I eagerly await your response.

Sincerely,

Alexander Nicolas Sutton

When finished, Alexander gave the letter to his assistant to be delivered to the President of Austar Union.

President Grove recieved the messages in his inbox. Standing at his counter, he was surprised to hear from the Credonians. It had been almost a hundred years since the alliance with the United States of Credonia had ended, and alliance which had lasted for a few hundred years. It was a shock to him, because he had heard about Credonia in his schooling years, all about the alliance which made the Austar Union and Credonia virtually superpowers in their sphere of influence. The two nations had once been a due which could take down any foe, except for entire alliances of course.

Turning on his computer, he paced about the room while he dictatored a letter, to be sent back to the Credonian President;

-----------------------------------------------------
"We are quite surprised to hear from the United States of Credonia, since we have always had the understanding that since our alliance, your leaders have had a negative view on the formally known Republic of Austar Union. In our modern age, much has happened with our nation, including the establishment of a SpaceForce, and many other new beginnings.

I cannot travel to the United States for internal reasons beckoning with the nation, confidential I assure you, however I am willing to send Amanda Read in my place. She will represent me in politics there in Credonia while I am tied up with issues over here, and her word is just as good as my own."

With her belongings, Amanda was confident to be representing the Federal Republic. She had reasonable knowledge of the Credonians, much of which was relating to its relations to the history of her own nation. Not only was she educated in school about that chapter in history, she could remember her grandmother telling her stories, when she was just a tiny girl, about the times when the Austar Union and Credonia were a powerful duo.

It wouldnt take long for her private jet to reach Credonian airspace, for it was quite standard in today's time to use hypersonic aircraft, or even spacecraft when travelling to earthly destinations. Nevertheless, it was a comfortable ride which cut the time of travelling drastically.

Entering airspace recognised as Credonian, Amanda relaxed with the knowledge that the pilots in the cabin ahead were now talking to Credonian Airspace Traffic Controllers. Soon, she would be the first diplomat for over a hundred years to set foot on Credonian soil, aside from the standard of course.

A special motorcade assembled at the Credonian airbase just outside Credonia City awaiting the arrival of Amanda Read. Lauren Smith, the Secretary of State was there to persoanlly meet the diplomat. As she sat in the limousine, the military bands played as platoon's of soldiers marched into place, in formation awaiting the beginning of the ceremonies. The day had arrived when Credonians and Austarians would reopen relations with each other.
