The Course to Freedom (Open Pirate RP)
[OOC: This is the awaited for Pirate RP]
In our past, when the only ways of travel were ships. Where the sea was the only road to travel on. Where boats were the tools of escape from the modern world, there lived two different sides, the Royal Navy, and pirates. The Royal Navy was constructed by all nations who wished to join into the Union, all of their greatest, and most beautiful ships being crewed alongside other nation's ships. They ruled the Earth, none dared challenge their navy. There was only one group who were big enough to take on the navy, that group being pirates. If all the pirates rallied together they would be large enough to take on the entire navy.
Unfortunately for the pirates they barely got along with themselves on their own ships minus other's ships. They spent all their time hunting down merchant ships, or pillaging and raiding coastal villages. They were a name to be feared by everyone, for they were cunning, wicked, and strong. One boat in particular was one of the strongest among all the pirate ships, and that ship was the Golden Eye, it was the fastest, bigest, and strongest.
That ship alone has left dozens of settlements lay in ruins, made many ships, in the navy, or just merchants, sink and lay at the bottom of the sea.
This is a story of that ship, and of all the pirates.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The sky was dim, and dreary, clouds covered the sun for the most part. The water looked as dreary as the sky did, the waves washed onto the white sand shore, the shore was rather large, at the back of it was a mountain side. There was one opening into the cave, and many men were running too and fro from that opening, they were pirates. Three boats were in the shallow water, as the men did their works.
Three men were in charge on the beach, Kint Blackdorn, Tom linner, and Andrew James.
Kint was the first mate to the ship the Golden Eye, he was twenty eight, and had a head of long black hair that went past his shoulders, he was about five foot eight, and had a very very short black beard. His clothes were all torn, but he had a bunch of clothes on, his fingers had at least one ring on each one.
Tom had a rag tied over top his hair, and had 5 o'clock shadow. He wore a brown leather jacket over a white cotton one. His pants went down past his knees, and the rest of his legs were covered in stockings and boots. He was about six feet tall, and was the most muscular of the three men in charge. He was also good freinds with Kint.
Andrew was five foot seven, and had a head full of blonde hair. His hair was relatively short, but he had a long blonde mustache. He was about equal to Kint in strength. He was also a backstabber, he hated Tom and Kint simply because they were more important to the ship than he was, and that is why he had a plan.
He was polishing two pistols with a rag as he watched everyone get back onto the three boats and start heading back for the boat. It was now just him, Tom, Kint, and some other sailor. He was behind Tom, and still holding onto the pistol with the rag he smacked it against the back of Tom's head, knocking him unconscious. He then slid the pistol into Tom's hand.
He moved on over to Kint and the other sailor who didn't notice anything.
"So," Kint asked the sailor. "How is progress coming?"
"So far it looks good," The sailor said.
Andrew was right behind Kint, and he pushed him aside.
"Good to hear," he said, and aimed the other pistol, using the rag to hold onto it, he pulled the trigger, then brought it up against Kint's head. He fell onto the ground before he got a complete grasp of what happened.
He then crouched down, and fit the gun into Kint's hand.
He watched as the other sailor fell onto his knees, clutching the bullet wound on his chest, he then fell over onto the sand.
Andrew jumped up and down, signalling that something bad had happened. The three boats had heard the gun shot, but no one saw it.
Kint awoke underneath the deck, in a cell, two guards were going along with their time mopping the floor, he was dazed and looked at them with a confused expression.
"Why are you mopping the cell?" He asked.
"We aren't," One said.
"But your in a cell, and mopping," He pressed on.
"No Kint, you are in the cell," The guard said, looking at him, then continued to mop.
Kint immeadiately stood up, and looked around, he and Tom were both in a cell, he looked around, and coughed then looked at the guards.
"What did I do?" He asked in a drunken tone of voice.
"You killed another crewmember with no reason," The guard said. "So we locked you two up, Tom over there was going to shoot Andrew."
"Really? They think I did that? Well they have it all wrong," Kint said walking back and forth between the cell. "Andrew did that, he set us up, it should be him in here instead of us, so if you would get us out I can tell the captain, savy?"
The guard smiled and walked over to the door, then smacked the mop against the door. "No."
"Hmm, fine then," Kint said, and sat back down, and closed his eyes, going to sleep.
He awoke, it must have been nightime, everything was dark minus the candles lit up here and there. Kint looked at the two guards, they were talking about something.
"So what are we gonna do with the two backstabbers?" One asked.
"Throw 'em off de' edge," The other said. "Let 'em swim to de' shore if dey find one."
"Which they probably won't," The other said smirking. "Did you hear where we are heading next?"
"To Cape Worth?" The other said. "Dah, I heard."
"Yeah, captain Anlosso says that the map is there," The guard said.
Kint shot up into a sitting position, and leaned his face against the bars.
"Da what?" The other guard asked.
"The map to the sacred waters, where supposidly is a pirates paradise, no rules, no government, no Royal Navy."
"Dat sounds interestin," The second guard said.
"Yes, supposidly the first pirate ever owned a shop in Cape Worth, in the back of his shop he left the map to the sacred waters."
Kint couldn't hold back, right as Tom started to awake he spoke. "Its in Cape Worth you say?"
"Shut up!" The guard yelled.
"Da'," The second guard informed.
"Idiot," THe first one said.
"Well then lads, we are going in the wrong direction, Cape Worth is east, we are going west," Kint said, Tom sat up, wondering what was going on.
"No, it says here on the cap'ns map that its west," The first guard said holding the map up.
"Let me see that," Kint asked sticking out his hands.
The guard handed it to him, and he scurried off to the back of the cell, he pulled a pen out from his shirt sleeve. He quickly got to work, making sure the guards couldn't see him, he made it sound as if he was searching for it but in really he was changing the name Cape Worth to Doge Wartk. It was a gamble but he had to take it, he also wrote down Cape Worth on the other side of the map, and walked over to the other two.
"See right there," He said pointing to it.
"He is right! We are heading in the wrong direction!" The guard said. "Come on!"
"Yes, go, and make sure to tell Anlosso that I didn't tell you, if you did he might not beleive you, also make sure to tell him how I talked about him bad," Kint said.
"But you didn't," The guard said.
"Do you want us to get thrown overboard or not?" Kint asked.
The guard looked at him and Tom, then ran up the stairs.
The next thing he knew he was in cold water, watching as Tom was pushed off the plank as well. It was still night, and sharks would be in the waters, but he knew where he had to go. He watched as the ship turned, and quickly it started sailing off into the distance.
"Come on!" Kint said to Tom as he started swimming.
"Where are we going?" Tom asked as he swam along side him.
"To my secret island, its gotta be a mile away," Kint said swimming.
"A mile?!" Tom exclaimed.
"Yes, but its either swim a mile or let sharks eat you," Kint said.
That was enough motivation for Tom, and within the hour they were on the island.
"Why did they drop us off so close to here?" Tom asked as Kint did the neccesary.
"Because mate," Kint said. "They are in a hurry to get this map."
"Map?" Kint asked.
"I will explain what I heard from the guards on the way to Cape Worth, come on!" He said as he pulled out the small sailboat.
Together the two of them dragged the seven foot boat out onto the water, and started sailing for the city, they would be there within the next day.
Jacen Tolberry closed down his shop, and walked down the cobblestone path towards his home. The city he lived in was nice, but rather boring, fortunately for them they hadn't met any pirates, well no pirates that were a threat. The city was also a fort, so soldiers were every here and there, with a fort towards the front of the city.
Jacen was twenty three years old, with neatly cut hair, and a neatly trimmed goatee. He was also very handsome, he wore a brown cotton vest over a white cotton shirt, and brown pants. He was a simple store owner, of which merchants brought good to and traded with him. Little did he know of the adenture soon to come, there were a few others who worked at the store, and they were also leaving.
[OOC: Alright this is where you join in, you can either join in as a freind of Jacen's, or wait and join as a pirate, your choice]

Peter Jacobs had an open obsession. He loved weaponry. Often, when he was on lockup duty, he would lock himself in and check over every weapon in the store until it was sold. The parting of a pistol was like the parting of a son. And when another came in, a new son was born. He didn't know why he liked weapons. He himself was not a killing man, he was quite friendly. The value of a gun or a sword was aesthetic and sentimental. He would save up his pay until he could buy another, skipping meals in order to afford the true masterpieces. Something about them seemed so interesting. They were so intriguing. They held so many secrets. Each weapon told a story. Each weapon demanded not just attention, but perfection. Polishing, sharpening, everything had to be right. Maybe it was just an ordinary interest, a sort of a hobby. Maybe fate knew that one day, Peter Jacobs would be glad he knew so much about weaponry, and that he purchased so many from his own store. Because fate had something in store for Peter Jacobs.

Jacob Barbossa, captain of the frigate, HRN Swift, looked into the seemingly endless horizon from the railings from the stern of the ship. Barbossa and his crew of nearly one hundred had been sent into the hostile waters of the Royal Navy by the Emperor himself as a privateer. Barbossa always used the term ‘privateer’ as the word ‘pirate’ made him and his men sound like barbarians, which they were far from.
“Cap’n,” a sailor from the crow’s nest yelled, “there’s another ship off port, and it looks like it’s alone.”
Captain Barbossa ran to the port side of the ship, and extended his looking glass, trying to see if it wore the colors of the Royal Navy. He quickly turned to the helmsman and yelled, “Turn hard port, bring us broadside. Ready the cannons and the raiding party.” All over the ship the sailors began running around, gathering their flintlock pistols and their swords, getting ready to board the ship. As the Swift closed in on the ship, the five cannons on the port side of the ship showed themselves to the crew of the other ship, all aimed into the hull.
Taken by surprised the crew of the small merchant ship could do nothing to prepare for a boarding, so they just stood on the deck, waiting for something to happen.
“Whar ye be headed?” Barbossa yelled out to the ship.
OOC: Ok, if there is someone who wants to be the merchant ship, then I will let you in here. If not I will keep going by me self.

OOC: Soi-Disant, I'll be the merchant ship, a passenger merchant bound for Jacen Tolberry's store. So, if you could perhaps let him survive this incident...
Joseph Cooper peered off the starboard side of the ship. A frigate was fast approaching, not flying the colors of a nation, from what Cooper could tell. He felt a large pit in his stomach.
Cooper was a merchant from Halibris, a man of twenty-four years and six feet. He was a polite, capable man, not particularly striking, though he was adapt at selling his wares. On this particular trade mission, he and his partner Noah Olsen(a loud man, fond of ale) were selling muskets and other arms to merchants and stores.
As the frigate pulled alongside the merchant ship, the crew assembled on the deck. A few of the more intrepid crew men started to get their firearms, but the Captain ordered them not to fight; They were by far outgunned and resistance would result in a needless blood bath. He planned to turn over the ship's cargo without incident.
Cooper looked around the deck. All of the crew and traders seemed to be there, except for Olsen. Cooper prayed that he was not gathering their goods to fight against these raiders.
“Whar ye be headed?” Was heard from the coming ship.
"We were planning on heading peacefully to (Techon, what city is Tulberry in?)" answered the merchant Captain.
ooc: my nation is rich with pirate history so tag it...it seems like many people already want to be pirates so maybe I'll take another role on..till tomorrow...

Captain Barbossa looked at the faces of the crew members. Each man had a different expression on his face. Some looked scared, others were as pale as the moon, but the ones Barbossa was most worried about were the men who's face was expressionless.
Barbossa motioned his men to begin boarding the merchant ship, and yelled back across, "We'll be boarding you now. So I would think twice before trying anything heroic."
Several of his men swung from the Swift to the merchant ship, some making sure the ship's crew stayed in line, others beggining to tie two rope bridges between the two ships.

Cooper stepped quietly into line as a man brandishing a pistol directed him to move over. He continued hoping Olsen would come up to the deck and peacefully surrender, when a loud noise come from below. Several of the pirates turned towards a door leading below-deck.
Anna, or Arthur as she was known to the crew, began to harass the ship's crew. She was a woman disguised as a man, having run away to experience adventure.

"What wers that?" A sailor called Smitty asked. The entire crew of the merchant ship were silent, and no one from the Swift knew what it was.
"Smitty," Capatain Barbossa yelled as he crossed the gangplank into the merchant ship, "why do ya go and have a look."
"Aye Cap'n," Smitty replied. He drew his sword and cocked the hammer on his pistol and began walking slowly towords the door that lead below deck. Smitty slowly opened the door a small amount, peeking inside, before opening the door the rest of the way and climbing down the stairs.
The passage was dark, and Smitty could barely make out the silohette(sp?) of a figure moving around in the dim light of the holds.
Anna, meanwhile, turned to the crew and drew her sword. "Anyone here know what that noise is?" she asked as she held her sword up to the chest of one of the men.

Cooper swallowed as a pirate held a sword to his chest.
"No, sir, I can't-uh, really say I do."
---
Olsen stood crouched next to a tall crate, fingering his musket, as the door to the deck opened. The brief light from outside revealed a man with a pistol and sword.
"Pirates!" Olsen muttered to himself. As the darkness resumed, he stood up, aimed his musket at the dark figure, fired, and missed. "Damn it!" he cried louder than he would have liked. Olsen dropped the firearm and ran towards a sword someone had left on top of a box.
Anna swung her sword around menacingly. "Well, then, what about you?" she asked another one. "Because if I find you've been lying to me. . ." Her sword cut the air in a threatening gesture.

OOC: Temme, are you rping as a member of the Swift? Your kind of confusing me, lol.
IC: Smitty dodged as the ball whizzed past his head, splintering the wall of the ship. He quickly regained his composure, and ran down the remaining few steps only to find himself face to face with the man who shot at him. He raised his pistol, ready to fire if the man made any sudden moves.
"Listen boy, I don't wanna shoot ye, but if unless ye drop that sword there real slowly, I'm gonna hafta."

Olsen stood face-to-face with the pirate, sword in hand, contemplating his few options. With a sigh, he dropped his sword.

Truthfully, the crew man, who didn't know Olsen, answered, "No."
Cooper stood nervous, wondering what was happening to his partner.
Anna swung her sword again. "Someone knows something." She worked hard at keeping her voice low-pitched.

Barbossa walked through the crowd, and was almost cut by a careless sailor. "Watch it boy," Barbossa grumbled at the rather small man.
OOC: How big is the crew of the merchant ship?
Halibris
25-08-2004, 21:23

Put him over with the rest of the prisoners." Smitty nodded and ordered the man to walk to the rest of the crew. "Alright boys," Barbossa yelled, "Lets get this ship unloaded and do it quickly. Leave only enough food and water to get them to their destination."
The merchant and the Swift suddenly filled with men moving crates of goods from the merchant ship to the Swift, while others watched the crew of the merchant ship, making sure no one tried anything. Barbossa walked back over to the Swift, overseeing the transfer of goods. He smiled and thought to himself, "This pirate thing is a lot easier than it looks."

Olsen got into line next to Cooper.
"You fool!" scolded Cooper quietly. "Were you aiming to have us murdered for your heavyhanded-"
"Quiet!" snapped a pirate.
Well, thought Cooper, At least they will allow us passage to Cape Worth...Though all my wares are being pilfered... Cooper continued to stand silently.
Anna was one of the ones making sure the crew didn't try anything funny. She noticed one of them talking, and she snapped, "Quiet!" She wondered if Cooper had known about Olsen.
The two men sat in the small little sail boat as it slowly made way for the dock of Cape Worth, it was a bright and cheerful day. The water was a bright teal, and in some spots Kint and Tom could spot coral reefs. They got closer and closer to the dock, Tom was started to take down the mast, while Kint talked on and on.
"So I figure, since we were mutinied, and throw overboard, does this make me captain since I am the leader of the two of us?" He asked sitting on a little bench while Tom walked around with rope.
"I really don't care," Tom said to him as he pulled on the rope, the mast started to roll back up. "If you want to be."
"Captain Kint Blackdorn...Captain Blackdorn...Captain Kint...Captain," Kint tried out as he gazed out at the massive cliffs that stuck on either side of the bay.
"Captain Kint sounds good, or Captain Blackdorn," Tom said as he started tying the rope up.
"I guess so," Kint said. "Captain Blackdorn."
"First mate Tom," Tom tried on as he bail some extra watter.
"It fits you lad," Kint said. "Captain Blackdorn, and First Mate Tom."
"Aye," Tom said as he threw out another bucketfull of water, they were only ten feet from the dock now, many men on the dock watched them as they came in, running straight into the dock, Tom hopped out, and tied it to the dock, while Kint stepped off proudly.
They started walking down the dock, tossing the dockmaster a silver peice. They made way across the path that was beside the beach, and up through the wall that was on the outside of the fort. They made way through the fort, and then into the city.
"Did you ever find out which shop they were referring to?" Tom asked as they stood at the edge of the busy crowd.
"Oh come on mate, how many stores can there be?" Kint asked before walking into the crowd.
Jacen Tolberry was standing behind the wood counter of his little shop, swords were hung up along the wall, as well as pistols, and a few muskets. On the other side of the shop was food, and other supplies, it was an all around everything shop. He smiled at the empty room.
"Another busy day," he said excitedly sarcastically to himself.
He then heard the door open up, he looked at it, and saw two rather ragged men step through. He stayed behind the counter for they had just come in, an they seemed to know what they were doing.
One, who had an odd beard, searched around through the swords, while the other, who was scraggly looking looked at food supplies.
The one who was looking at the swords walked over to the counter, and dropped a fine looking one on the table. It had a pure steel blade, the hilt was jet black, with gold inserted into it. Made specially by the blacksmith.
"Ah, a fine choice," Jacen said as he turned around for a moment, putting the bowl he was pollishing back, he turned around. "That will be..."
He stopped at the sight of a pistol facing at his face.
"That lad," The man said. "Will be free."
"Who are you?" Jacen asked sternly, as he gazed down the barrel.
The man smirked. "I'm Captain Kint Blackdorn lad."
"Kint Blackdorn? Your a pirate!" Jacen exclaimed.
"Good job lad, now if you would, I will be taking this sword, and searching your shop," He said.
Without him knowing what happened another sword had knocked the pistol out of his hand, and Jacen pointed the tip of the blade of the sword Kint had just set on the table at Kint's throat.
"Well lad, you are good with the swords," Kint remarked.
"I practice many times each day, whenever I get the chance, my brother is the black..." He was silenced by the thunk of a pistol barrel against the back of his head.
Tom stood behind him, frowing slightly.
"Good job mate," Kint said. "Now come on, we can start searching for that secret compartment."

With the thoughts in her mind, Anna drew her sword and pointed it at Cooper's chest. "Did you know this man was down in the hold? Don't lie to me now."
Kint and Tom started feeling along the walls, there was bound to be something here....
Meanwhile, at the Swift take-over, to the suprise of everyone, another pirate ship had shown up, this one was majorily bigger than the other ships. This one was old looky, and dark gray, the mast soaring way above the other ships, the entire ship's crew were leaning over the edge, watching the merchant ship.

Cooper swallowed again, as the pirate questioned him about Olsen. It was the same one who was watching over Cooper and some of the others for the whole of the raid. He was a bit short, and his low voice sounded quite queer, thought Cooper underneath his fear.
"Him? Well, yes, he's Noah Olsen my partner." answered Cooper. "We're both traders. But, you see, I had no idea he was in the hold. I'm not quite thinking straight, in all this...mess. I think you may be able to understand that, what with all of your...exscursions..."
"Ahoy!" A voice called to the other ship as a man leaned against the rail. "What buisness do you have in these waters?"
"Liar!" Anna spat. She had no proof of this, of course, but it was nice to see him squirm nevertheless. She turned her sword so the flat of it was facing Cooper, then smacked him with it.

Barbossa was startled to see another ship fast approaching until it pulled on the other side of the merchant ship. Knowing that his lightly armored ship stood now chance against such a large vessel.
"All hands back on board," Barbossa yelled. He was hoping he could use his quicker ship to outrun the other ship.
Anloosa watched as they all ran back aboard the other ship.
"Chase them down, if they do not cooperate, fire cannons," He informed Andrew.
Andrew shouted out the order and the Golden Eye started for the smaller pirate ship, they had no chance of outrunning them in this chase.

Anna didn't hear him yelling, fortunately. Had she heard his "undersized" comment, she would really have come out swinging. That was a sore spot for her.
Anna assisted in preparing the ship to get out of there.
"Captain," Andrew said at Anloosa's side. "We are approaching the other ship."
"Are they surrendering?" The aged captain asked.
"Nay, they are fleeing," Andrew said.
"Fire a few warning shots off," Anloosa said.
Slowly the massive ship turned, at an angle where they could fire, but still pursue in chase, two cannons were put at the ready.
"Fire," The captain said rubbing his beard.
"FIRE!" Andrew ordered.
The thundering shots were fired, one flew right over the other ship and splashed in the water fifty feet ahead of it, the other was aimed lower and hit ten feet to the left of it.
Anna was seriously afraid when she saw the cannon fire. Still, she kept it in, and went about her work.
"Fire two more rounds," Anloosa said.
"FIRE!" Andrew yelled.
Two more cannon shots, one landed less than ten feet behind the other pirate ship, while the second hit to the right, both making equally large splashes.

It seemed as if they were just going to leave the merchant ship alone when all of a sudden five cannons appeared.

Five holes were punched in along the side of the ship, destroying everything bellow deck.
"Get on board! Take as many captive!" Anloosa called.
As many pirates as time would allow hopped on the ship, and started dragging people back onto the Golden Eye Cooper was one of those dragged abaord, time only aloud ten merchants to be brought aboard.
"What about the rest of them?" Andrew asked.
"Let them sink to old Davey Jones Locker," Anloosa said and walked back to his quarters.

As the Golden Eye fired upon the ship, Cooper was dragged to his feet by a pirate and brought to the raider's vessel, along with several others.
Cooper's captor threw him on the deck and quickly searched him for weapons.
"What will happen to the others?" Cooper asked timidly.
"They'll pray the sharks don't get 'im if the cannon don't." came the answer.
"Hey Jers the captives are ready for you to talk to," The pirate said.
A very scraggly, agile, and paranoid looking pirate walked over to them, it was obvious he was blind in an eye, because all it was was white, no pupil, he smiled at Cooper, his rotting teeth showing, and the smell of fish on his breath.
"Lets tie them up for a little," He said. "Cap'n can decide wat ta do wit 'em later on."
He then walked off, and the pirates tied all the captives up.
Although Anna pretended to make fun of the Golden Eye captain with the rest, inwardly, she was frightened. Very frightened. She had a feeling that she would end up a shark's appetizer.
One of the crew saw as Anna snickered and made comments, he himself smirked, and aimed his pistol, with a quick shot from it he had knocked off the sword seath hanging from her belt.
Anna scowled with rage, but didn't dare say or do anything. She was practically helpless without her sword, being so small. She crushed the fear inside with rage.
"Better wise up mate," The pirate said, his pistol still aimed at her. "This next shot is for you if I have to use it."
Anna's eyes spat daggers at him. She didn't actually do anything; she wasn't that dumb.
If you try to kill me, there will be the others to kill you.
That's what she would have said if she was braver. Or stupider.
"Heh," The pirate said. "Now you show fear and appreaciation we deserve."
"And with good purpose," Anloosa said. "We are the most famous, and most deadly ship in these waters, but we don't come here to fight you, we come here for you to aid us."
Anna scowled.
Appreciation! Not likely.
On hearing that they wished to help, she picked up her sword and reattached it. Her sword was like a tot's teddy bear--her source of security. For all her bravado, Anna was, in fact, very weak.

OOC: Ok sorry for such a long time in between posts. Also I wont be able to post at all this weekend, so Temme if you want to take the part of the Swift and her crew it would be appreciated.
IC: Barbossa spat overboard when as he listened to the pirates talk, but he had no choice but to go along with them, or risk his ship and his crew. "What do ye mean, ye want us to help ye?"
"Well as you may now, there is a part of the sea, where no governments rules, and we are free to do whatever we please," Anloosa explained. "We know where a map to these waters be, and we will need all the help we can get."
Barbossa frowned. "What do ye want us to do?"
"We need to find the map," Anloosa said. "Two betraying crew mates tricked us, and now they are on their way to Cape Worth, searching for the map. We need to get there, and take it back."
"An' what would be in it for us?" Barbossa said, a tone of interest creeping in.
"Freedom to do whatever ye please," Anloosa said smirking.
"An' what would you need us to do to get the map?" Barbossa sounded pleased at this concept, although he still slightly distrusted the other ship.
"We simply need help attacking the port it is in," Anloosa informed.
"Arr, matey, I believe we can help you out there." Barbossa seemed satisfied. "Where is this port?"
"All ye have to do is follow us, we will lead ther way," Anloosa said.
"Aye." Barbossa turned to the crew. "Make ready to follow them."
Anna began to prepare the ship to leave. She had some serious misgivings, but she was just a crew member, and he was the captain.
The ship began to follow the Golden Eye.

OOC: Ok Im back from one serious party last night. I think I probably drank like 10-12 beers, but the whole night is really just a blur. Anywho, thanks Temme for filling in for me.
Kint felt along the wall, he narrowed his eyes...he moved his finger down a thin line.
"I found it mate!" He said after a quick laugh.
Tom hopped across the room over to him.
"Get me something to open this..." Kint started to say, but Tom was jamming a sword in the line, and pushing, a peice of the wall came out, a foot by a foot, and inside was a scroll.
"We are in buisness," Kint said nodding his head and smiling.

Cape Worth was for all intensive purposes the last outpost that the Royal Navy maintained along the coast. Overlooking the port on a bluff to the east was a Fortress, of considerable power which has repelled multiple pirate raids in the past. In the harbor lied the Mighty Frigate Interloper and at two slips in the docks were moored a pair of sloops and a half dozen gunboats. It was a respectable force though at any given time three fourths of the garrison would be enjoying the various establishments such a port would have to offer.
Lieutenant Covington was the skipper of one of the Sloops tied to a dock, his ship recently returned from a successful anti-piracy mission. He carried with him the spoils that were due his rank as the captain of the victorious vessel, a large saber and a pair of pistols which he tucked into his belt. He walked the streets looking for a reputable establishment where he could reap in the profits of the capture.
Life was good he thought to himself as he open the door and entered Tolberry’s store...
Kint heard the bells of the wooden door ring, he stood up quickly, not turning around and looking at the door until he was completely standing up, he looked at the Lieutenant, and his mouth twitched, he had the look of a man who was just smacked on the back of the head, unknown to what just happened, but then he smiled.
"Ah, welcome to the Tolberry Store..." He said extending his arms. "Mr. Tolberry is unavailable at the moment, he went to the blacksmiths, so if you could come back later..."
He knudged Tom with his foot, who, out of sight, drug Jace out of sight, and put the map in his pocket.

Covington thought to himself that it was strange that Tolberry had gone to the blacksmith in the mid day, he after all hardly ever left the store, strange indeed but he was probably just being paranoid. But he carried the heavy sword and pistol all the way here a return trip would be most undesirable.
“My dear sir, I’ve come all the way here from the docks. I assume you work here? Surely you could offer me a fair price on this loot?” He said placing the pistols and the saber on the counter. “Perhaps an exchange?” Covington asked as he began to browse around the store.

Cooper sat in a confused daze, the darkness of the ship's hold enveloping him. Around him he could hear, and slightly see, his fellow captives.
"Haven't heard any cannon shots, or otherwise," said one. "Seems the pirates are just gettin' along alright together."
"Ah!" Another one let out a victorious exclamation. "They didn't tie me up so well-I've undone my ropes."
"Get me!" "Let us loose!" The man loosened the ropes of a few others. They decided to wait with their loose ropes, and make a run for escape should they get up to deck.

"We thought maybe you would go along with us, but now its to the cell."
The guards took the prisoners one by one to the cell, locking the door when the last one went in.

"AHHHH!!" Covington exclaimed as he saw a curved saber, "This would be perfect for cutting those pirates to pieces.”My dear fellow sometimes I think that pirates are well, a little slow in the noggin. I mean most of them have no sense of the tactical picture around them." Covington stated unaware of the fact that two pirates were in the same store as he. "Those pirates have no common sense at all...What can you tell me about this curved blade my dear fellow" Covington asked of Kint.
"Uh..." Kint said raising his eyebrows. "That sword, is...the...a...very special and unique sword sir, it was crafted out of...Port Dots..."

"Uhm...yes," Kint said, he looked down at Tom, Jace was waking up, Kint grimaced, and nodded his head to Tom, who knocked Jace back out silently.

Covington looked around the store at the various edge weapons and flintlock muskets/pistols. He sighed to himself and told the apparent shopkeeper,
"Well I shall return when Mr Tolberry arrives then, until then a good day to you."
With that Covington made for the exit, as he passed through the door he couldn't help but to think about the oddities of the visit. He had never heard of the Malthan Wars or of Port Dots, and that sword was merely forged in by the local armory nothing of any worth. So, why the cover story and why was there a deep gash in the wall? No, something was wrong. But if Tolberry's store was being robbed he certainly could not show his suspicions after all there could have been more then just the one man their any hostile move he made would have been reacted to most unpleasantly he feared.
As the door closed behind him he quickly holstered the captured saber along his back, because his naval issue cutlass was along his thigh. He then loaded both the pistols. With one in each hand he kicked in the store's door. Covington leveled both pistols at the robbers head.

Tom frowned, and dropped his gun, the man had a point, he didn't want to toy with Kint's health.

Kint looked and saw a chicken running by, and he acted, he kicked it up in the air and caught it in his hands, and then he threw it at Covington, the bird flapped its wings and scratched as it hit his face, Tom grabbed a bucket from someone beside him, and dumped it on Covington's head, then smacked it on top, knocking the man out.
"The map!" Kint said.
Tom ran into the store, and grabbed the map, along with the sword Kint had picked out earlier, he ran back outside to see Kint grabbing the money and equipment of theirs off Covington, the crowd watching, unknowing what to do.
"Lets go," Kint said, and he and Tom ran off into the crowd.

"Mr. Tolberry do you have any idea what those two were after in your store by any chance?"

Satisfied with Mr. Tolberry statement Covington returned to the Royal Navy's fort on the island and alerted the commanding officer there who notified the marines.
A squad of Marines now stationed themselves at the docks checking any who desired to leave, making sure they were authorized. Covington returned to his ship and brooded over what the pirates stole...
OOC: perhaps a good time for the other two pirate ships to show up shooting?
(OOC: Yeah, I am gonna make time pass by a little now it is night)
The moon shone brightly above Cape Worth, the soldiers still all over the docks. The town was not as lively anymore, but some people were still here and there.
Jace walked out his store, calmed down now. He looked out over the foggy ocean, the moon reflected off the still water, a few boats were tied up at the dock, and the navy's boat was over at the fort.
He leaned against a wall and frowned...
damn pirates
He looked into the fog, and could have sworn he could see an outline of two other ships, but he dismissed it, walking back to his house.
Kint and Tom were down along the fort walls, sneeking around, they needed to get out of there but didn't know how, they were currently underneath a small bridge, they had the perfect view of the docks, but they were in shadows, unable to be seen.
"How do you suppose we are going to get back to our boat?" Tom asked.
"Our boat is staying here," Kint said as he pointed to the small one tied up, being searched by soldiers.
"How are we leaving?" Tom asked.
"That boat," Kint said pointing to a rather larger merchant ship. "It is bigger, we can have more space, but not so big that it would require more than two to work."
"Good idea," Tom said. "How are we going to get on it?"
"Like this..." Kint started sneeking out of the shadows, a group of soldiers were twenty feet ahead, not looking, he got ten feet behind them when a cannonball was shot, and smacked right in front of him, he was blasted back, and the soldiers were blasted forward.
"WE'RE UNDER ATTACK!" A soldier yelled somewhere as more cannonshots rained against Cape Worth.

Cooper sat in the corner of his cell, finishing the stale piece of bread a guard had thrown to each of the captives, listening to a few of the others who were quietly talking.
"Finish yers?"
"My what?"
"Yer food."
"We got food?"
"Oy, me leg hurts..."
Then several thunderous booms rang out above them. Cooper raised his head.
"Cannon!"
"Maybe they're attacking the original pirates."
"I thought this was the original pirate ship."
"No. Remember, we moved?"
"Wait!" The prisoner next to Cooper had his face against the wall, apparently staring at the wood. Then he moved, and a sliver of moonlight fell across the floor through a crack in the wall. "I see land. They're attacking a town."

The Royal Navy was caught flat footed with the surprising raid by the two pirate ships. The Masts of their powerful frigate was the first to be broken crippling here. The docks and town were then bombarded by the ships causing more fear then harm. It was ten minutes before the guns of the fort begin to reply to the pirate’s wraith.
The bell high in the church tower began to ring calling out the town militia as young boys and old men alike ran for saber or musket.
Covington stood onboard the bridge of his Sloop RNS Surprise his crew moved rapidly to their battle stations with controlled chaos. His sailors were by far the best trained in the port the ship was all ready moving out from dock within five minutes of the first shot.
"Mister Michaels! Do you have a target?" Covington asked of the battery commander.
"Aye sir, I believe so." A haggard looking sailor replied
"Have at it then by god!" Covington replied.
The weathered veteran waited for the flash of cannon from one of the ships there it was...the ten cannon of his ship fired in anger at one of the pirate ships.
Anloosa walked to the side of his ship, just as a hole was blown right to his left, the cannonball flew right into the ship, making a large hole in the wood, he looked down at it, half smiling.
"Let them have everything," He said.
From the safety of hiding in the fog all the cannons from the two ships stopped firing...
....then all at once every cannon fired at the same time, unleashing a volley at the port.
"Kint!" Tom whispered as he stuck his hand out, Kint was running rather follishly back to the hiding of the bridge, another cannonball hit not far behind him, making him pick up his pace.
"Bloody hell," Kint said. "Thats the Golden Eye."
Jace watched as men and boys young and old ran past him towards the docks, it took him a second to realize the cannon shots, he ran back to his home, and grabbed his sword, before running to the docks himself.
"Come on!" Kint whispered.
The two of them ran out to one of the boats, not the one Kint had picked out earlier, and both of them hopped on it, untying all the ropes, and kicking off.
Anloosa sat on the deck as he watched the ship start to come closer, it started passng them.
"Fire on that fleeing ship!" He bellowed.
Some cannons started firing at it, blowing giant chunks in the side. It was being torn apart.

The Surprise quickly picked up speed as the wind filled her sails, he noticed that the larger of the two ships seemed to look like the infamous [i]Golden Eye[i] before it disappeared into the fog, but if he couldn’t see it, it could not see him...which gave him his chance.
"Prepare boarding parties, load double shot into the cannons. Give them a shot of that as we grabble then board to capture!" A hurrah was heard throughout the ship with the promise of hand to hand combat.
Then the [i]Golden Eye[i] reappear the Surprise was less then a hundred meters from her the distance closed quickly and then they were entangled. The double broadside was fired and boarding parties stormed the pirate ship armed with cutlass and pistol with the marines covering fire from the sails.
The pirates cannons all stopped at once, the pirates on top started attacking the soldiers, pushing them back, and then finally, all the cannons oncer again fired at the same time, right beside the other ship this time.

Covington fought like a banshee plowing through all those who stood in his way...for he had only one true target, the captain of this vessel. He saw his target who just finished removing his cutlass from the chest of one of Covington's sailors.
Covington charged at the captain discharging his two remaining pistols at the pirate captain hoping for a hit. However he charge at him with his saber incase his aim was not true.
Anloosa watched as Covington ran for him, he didn't show any signs of fear, or anything for that matter, calmly he ducked out of his way, just as the mast from the Royal Navy ship collasped in front of him, between him and Covington.
"Sir," Another pirate pointed out the escaping ship they had just destroyed.
"No one was on that ship," The pirate said. "However..."
He pointed out of the bay, as another ship sailed away.
"Damn!" Anloosa cursed.
Jace had made way out with a group of militia men, heading for the boat. He climbed aboard and was about to swing, but was met by a sudden suprise, a quick strike to the head from the butt of a gun put him out.
"The store is empty! Kint and Tom already went though it!" Andrew said beside Anloosa. "They must have been the ones on that other ship."
"Damn... Alright lads, were pulling out," Anloosa said.
Soon enough the two pirate ships were pulling away, heading for the ocean, even as the soldiers continued to fight, many started swimming back, or hopping in boats, retreating back to their home at the port.
