Somehow, the information manages to stay hidden from the authorities. Somehow. But word gets out to the international underworld of a million dross reward for the capture and delivery of Grand Duchess Beatrice, the High Queen's younger sister.

OOC: I would be interested in playing a part in this as the possible kidnappers - drop me a telegram or something, please.

The sun shone brilliantly that warm August morning. People jostled past each other on the relatively busy pavement whilst vehicles made their slow way to work in the morning rush hour. TRD was waking up to another day of possibilities and events that could make for an incredible adventure for any person that lived there.

For one person, that was certainly the case.

Peter Harry Jackson stubbed his cigarette out under his foot and adjusted his sunglasses as he looked down the road. He was leaning casually against a lamp-post set nearby the roadside, out of the way of most of the flow of people. He glanced across the road momentarily to another man that was standing further down the pavement, intently reading a newspaper as he glanced in either direction.

A police cruiser rolled by. Peter felt the hairs on his neck involuntarily bristle, and he reminded himself that he hadn’t done anything illegal yet.

His phone rang. Peter pulled the mobile out of his pocket and flipped it open, bringing it to his ear. “Go,” he simply said.

“Alpha in sight.”

“Okay.” Peter flipped down his phone and pushed the autodial. Across the road, the other man put away his mobile, folded his paper under his arm and began to walk away.

The phone connected. “Go,” the other voice said.

“Alpha, Alpha.”

“Okay,” the other man hung up and Peter placed the phone in his pocket and looked up the road to where the target was approaching. Behind him, a brown saloon pulled out of a side road and pulled to a halt just further up along the road.

Peter pushed himself off the lamp-post and began to walk slowly in the direction of the car, slowly narrowing the distance between himself and the target.

The Grand Duchess glides down the street, glowing with the radiant beauty of every sidhe. Because she's heading for the gym, she wears the practical clothing of red leggings, a golden sleeveless tunic, and a black cloak. She pulls her cloak around her a little in the crisp autumn air. By the standards prevalent in the Resurgent Dream, this city is beyond bizarre. Automobiles, far from being the rarity they are everywhere else in the empire, almost outnumber carriages, almost. Looking around, she even spies a cell phone being used by a human. A little strange, even in this town. Still, she just continues on her way.

Peter continued his slow amble up the pavement, listening as the footsteps of the target approached. He had to time this just right to make this as easy as possilbe.

The car just ahead was idling by the pavement, it's windows blacked out. Jack quickened his pace slightly to stay within the time he was planning. He began to sweat a little as the time arrived, and he slipped a hand into his inside jacket pocket as casually as he could muster.

The footsteps were loud now, and Jack glanced quickly over his shoulder just as the target was drawing level with him. With a deft sidestep into the target's path, he knocked into her, making it as accidental as he could.

Just next to the car.

"Oh, I'm sorry Ma'am," Jack said, reaching down to offer her a hand up whilst drawing his hand from his inside pocket to reveal the handle of an small, easily concealable Webley .38 caliber MK. IV Revolver. He looked straight at the target with determination in his eyes. "Come on now," he said quietly. "Get in the car and we'll have no problems." Next to him, someone inside the car opened the rear passenger door next to them.

(OOC: Let me know if there's any problems with this, and I'll alter it.)

Jen Wallaby saw the whole thing, he was a witness, someone who could warn the athourities, why didn't he? Because he was a terrorist, he had been planning on this kidnap for some time, and now someone else had done it, just great.
He leaned against the post and smiled, at least it had got done...but...he still, would have liked to be the one. What did they want her for? He wanted her because not only attraction, but also because slaves were growing slim on the savanah like planet of Tublok. He had promised them he would get them a fine slave, but now she was taken right under his nose.
Jen was a young man of twenty three, he had long blonde hair, circular glasses, and always wore hoodies. He worked at a comic book/video game store, and never seemed much of a threat, but little did they know he was a big one.
He smirked, it wasn't over yet, he made sure to copy down the liscense plate number of the car, and he also noticed earlier one had a cell phone, luckily enough for him he could get into the police files, and look at the video cameras. He could easily find out what his number was.
He could ask them nicely to make a deal...if not, he would resort to blackmail.
He smirked, this was a good day.

The police cruiser turned at the next street, and the driver, Officer Jeremy Michealson, started to turn his head to look back at where he had seen that man..on a cell phone. It had taken the officer and his partner until then to figure out what it was (they had barely seen it), and both wanted a second look at it. Even for the police, cell phones were rather rare.

However, as he looked over, he spotted something else. A brownish van had pulled up, quite illegally, to the side of the curb. And, at the curb, two people, a man and a woman, were standing next to each other, looking at....the opening side of the van.

Officer Michealson had been ready to let it go, however, now that they saw that the driver was picking someone up..pulling up on the wrong side of the road to pick someone up...that was pushing it. Doing a tight turn, and going slightly on the curb (and thereby making a loud bang along with the screeching of the tires...he'd been going faster then he thought) he started driving back towards the brown van, planning on ticketing the man.

OOC: Note that I'm not planning to stop the kidnapping, just adding some action to it. I'm hoping to help The Resurgent Dream play the authorities, as we already have two terrorists and a hostage.

Jen was sitting on the edge of a small garden that was next to the side walk, there was one lone tree in the middle of a square, with grass growing around it. He looked down the path, and saw the police, he narrowed his eyes, sticking his hand into his black hoodie he helt onto his DE. He may not want them to kindap her, but he didn't want the kidnapping to go wrong...
...He put the gun away, shooting the police would give the others blackmail against him.

Still sitting where she fell, flat on her butt, Beatrice smirks. "If you shoot me here, you'll never get out of here alive. Besides, if you didn't need me alive, you wouldn't be trying to take me that way. So you're going to need to do better than pointing a gun."

Jen, with a advanced hearing device in his ear designed as headphones, turned the nob on the device inside his hoodie pocket....

"If you shoot me here, you'll never get out of here alive. Besides, if you didn't need me alive, you wouldn't be trying to take me that way. So you're going to need to do better than pointing a gun."

"If she thinks that way they are going to have to be very creative about thinking of a way around, plus since that police car is gone there is no authority around here, and all the cameras here are under my survelance, they could kill her, and only they, and I would know," He said. "Good for me, bad for them."
He looked and saw the police vehicle backing up, he narrowed his eyes and stood up from his spot, backing off into an alleyway.
"Oh but things are going to get so much better," He said smiling.

Jack looked down at the woman. He couldn't believe it; the arrogance of royalty really ticked him off. Glancing around momentarily, he smiled.

"I've only got to make sure you're alive to get my money. They didn't say anything about wounds." He gestured at the car, still offering his other hand, and slipped the weapon back into his pocket but kept his hand there. "Now, shall we do this the clean way, or shall we do this the way where I shoot you in the leg? Either way, you're coming with us."

OOC: Post the next bit a little later.

The police cruiser pulled up in front of the van, blocking it from pulling away, and the two officers got out of the vehicle, looking strangely at the situation before them. Next to an illegally parked van, the Duchess was lying on the ground, and a man was standing next to her with his hands in his pockets, not even trying to help.

The officers looked at each others, bewildered, then back at the people in front of them. "Is there a problem here?"

Darting across the street Jen ran into the hotel, he ran up all the stairs, making his way up all the stairs to the very top floor, they he crawled up even more onto the roof. He ran across it, and picked up a box, he set it on the edge, and set it up on the edge.
"Risky but I can't take the chance of them loosing her," he said.
He pulled out a sniper rifle, and aimed it at one of the police's heads.
"The spirit, trapped inside a mortal body, all it takes is a little push, and it could be released." He said as he put his finger on the trigger, he would only fire if things got entirely out of hand.

"If you are so inept an abductor that the only two ways you know to take someone captive are to get them to cooperate under threat or to injure them, my government has incredibly little to worry about. With the gunshot and the screams, there is, again, no way you could concevably leave the country alive."

OOC: I'm assuming the Duchess said that BEFORE the police arrived?
