Titarnia Post.
The new Prime Minster of the Commonwealth of Titarnia was elected today and had this to say as he accepted the post.
" People of Titarnia, in these early formative years of our great country I am proud that you have chosen me to lead you in to our glorius future, however these times will test our souls and we will need friends and allies from outside our boarders."
"This is why my first action as Prime Minister will be to remove the great wall on our boarders which has shielded us from the outside world."
"I understand this may cause concern to our citizens, but for Titarnia to develop it is entirly needed."
"Trust me you elected me!"
"Pride through strenght."
So with a new Prime Minster it would seem comes new and exciting times for the people of Titarnia.

Maureen June grabbed the pill she needed to begin work, and settled down. She waded through foreign papers until she came to this one.

"Hmm. . .interesting. . ."

She quickly looked some stuff up and sent the Prime Minister this e-mail.


Dear Mr. Prime Minister:

We in the United Socialist States of Temme would like to invite you to open an embassy in our country. We hope that this may be the start of great relations between our two countries.

Before today Titarnias only glimpse of foreign shores where through the reports of the Foreign Intelligence Bureau(FIB), and most of these did little to quell Prime Minister Smiths curiosity.
As soon the message arrived from Temme foreign office had landed on his desk the Prime Minister was planning a grand expidition to the foreign land.
The first assignment for the Bureau of Foreign Affairs (BFA) came direct from the Prime minister himself.
" Make contact with the United Socialist States of Temme and inform them I wish to speak to a state representative in person."
Prime Minister Taylor Smith inform the political protection unit I wish the Great Titarnia 1 be made ready to sail.
Taylor Smith looked out of his office window across the Yorlay sky line to the majestic yacht in the harbour and the large dock gate in the Titarnian wall and thought to himself
Soon they will be opening, not for fishermen but, for what might be the defining moment of his live and maybe even Titarnia's history.

Maureen June recieved the contact. It appeared that he would be arriving in Temme. She popped a pill and spoke to her temporary assistant. "Clarissa, make sure that the guest rooms are available should Prime Minister Smith wish to use them."

"Yes, Ms. June."

Maureen immediately sent in a response,

"Dear Prime Minister Smith:

Our Public Servant for Foreign Affairs, Maureen June, would be happy to recieve you here in Temme. We have the guest rooms in the Parliament buildings available for you, or if you would prefer, you could stay at one of the hotels in the area.

OOC Titarnia is an island state with a large perimetre wall along its entire coast line there are three cities/towns which have harbours and large dock gates built into the wall, these towns are bethlan,Yorlay and Carisate aswell as several towns towards the middle of the island(to be named).

OOC: Temme is in Saskatchewan and Northern Manitoba. (both in Canada.) The south, where the capital is, is very flat. The north is mostly forest. Our only sea is in the north, where the city of Douglas is (about where Churchill is.) Our capital is named Saskatchewan, and is in the centre of Temme. Our other main city is named Queen, and it is about where Regina is.

Captain Wilson recieved clearance to leave the Yorlay hardour.
The yacht Great Titarnia 1 eased throught the great dock gates as director Blake recieved news that a message had arrived from Temme, amazed at the speed of thier response, scaning the message he immediatly contacted prime minister Smith aboard the Great Titarnia 1.
" Sir a miss June from the Temme Foreign Affairs has contacted us and they are antisapating your arrival."
"Wonderful Simon, when I return we'll have to have that drink you promised me "
" Of course sir, and good luck Taylor "
As simon hung up the phone he couldmt help but think that Taylor Smith was a brave man, the first to visit a foreign country in our history, but he also felt worried for his friend.
" May the lions walk with you friend."

Maureen June had flown out to Douglas to welcome Prime Minister Smith, after having heard that he was coming via boat.

On the bridge of the Great Titarnia 1 captain Wilson was brushing down his dress uniform as he instructed his comms officer to contact Douglas harbour for clearance to dock. The captains uniform was a dazzling white and his broad shoulders filled the jacket to its seams.
In his personal quarters the Prime Minister hurrily read the greeting speach he had been writing for nearly the entire journey from Titarnia, he hope that all would go well today. He gently pressed the intercom button "captain Wilson when will we be docking ?"
" We're just waiting for a response sir ".

"Clearance to dock, sir, you have clearance to dock."

Maureen pulled out a mirror and checked herself over. She did look okay. She popped another pill to calm her nerves.

The yacht eased into dock with help from the Temme tug boats, the mooring ropes where secured. The large boarding bridge descended towards the dock.
Two suited men from the PPU moved down the boardung brudge towards the dock, They noted the large crowd of photographers, the reception delegation, one man muttered into the cuff of his jacket sleeve and moments later Prime Minister Smith appeared at the top of the boarding bridge and began to make his way down to the delegates.
with a warm hand shake he said " Good morning, Im am Taylor Smith Prime Minister of Titarnia it is a pleasure visiting your country "

Maureen June met him and smiled. "Hello, I am Maureen June. Welcome to Temme."

" Thank you Ms June, I am eager to start negotiations and have prepared a draft proposal "
Prime Minister Smith is handed a thick booklet by his aide which he passes to Maureen June.

Trade agreement between Temme and Titarnia

1 All seaports/airports are open to frieght vessels/aeroplanes.
1.1 All seaports/airports are open to commercial vessels/aeroplanes.
1.2 All seaports/airports are open to civilian/private vessels/aeroplanes.
1.3 Frieght,commercial and civilian/private vessels/aeroplanes referes to
non military vehiles.

Embassies

2 Titarnian government offers a three floored building with underground
parking for 50 (fifty) vehicle's in the capital city of Titarnia (Yorlay)
2.1 Temme may not use thier embassy for military porposes.
2.2 Temee may not use thier embassy to intercept Titarnian communications
2.3 Titarnian government may not intercept any Temme communications to
or from thier embassy.
2.4 Titarnia request the same.

Maureen scanned it. "This does seem logical; however, I'd like to give it a more thorough reading later. Would you like to come with me on the monorail to our capital city?"

" Of course " said the Prime Minister " I'd love to "
Prime Minister Smith and his aides followed Maureen to the monorail station.
" We're interested in a possible non-aggression pack as well as the trade agreement M's June " said Prime Minister Smith as they walked towards the monorail.

Maureen June smiled. "Well, Temme has a policy of non-agression towards all nations unless directly attacked. Also, we're very cautious about trade deals. Could you give me some details about the treatment of workers in your nation?"

An aide passes Maureen June the Titarnia offical laws of employment act of august 18,2004

The employer shall
1 not employ persons under 16 years of age.*
1.1 will not discriminate or show favourtism to peson/s because of
race, religon, sex or age.
1.3 will pay a minimun of 5 treapel's per hour to employees.
1.4 persons under 18 years of age may not work longer that 9 hours per
day.
1.5 persons under 18 years of age may not work night shift i.e between
the hours of 10 pm to 6 am
1.5 employees can not work more than 40.5 hours per working week at
standard pay.
1.6 employees working hours over 40.5 hours per week must be paid 1.5x
normal pay for first 8 hours and 2x normal pay every hour there after.
1.7 employer must ensure that all employees are trained to a basic level of
compitance.
1.8 employer must ensure a comftable working environment for employees
1.8a room temperature must not excede 32.5 degrees C and no less than
24.5 degrees C.
1.9 employer must supply all uniforms, safety equipment and tool required
for employee at no cost to employee.
* persons maybe empolyed under the age of 15 only as part of a training
or further education policy and must not be forced/requied to do manual
labour or any job related tasks other than purely educational.
2 Employees are entitled to no less than 6 month fully paid sick leave/abscense and a further 12 months at half pay.

Prime minister Smith " As you can see we take great pride in our work force and protect them accordingly "

Maureen read them over and smiled. "I think we could work out some sort of a trade agreement. These are sound." They arrived at the monorail station.

We have looked over your description, and we are willing to start an alliance that includes military help & trade help. We are also willing to join the alliance you have with Temme, if possible. We have very strict rules against child labor, and we believe in many of the same issues that you do. The Republic of Larogera has very strict rules on the environment. Therefore, our economy isn't 'very big'. We are willing to trade anything from aide supplies (natural medicines, metanol [different source to vehicles]). Those are our biggest industries here in Larogera, other than the booming Veggie Company, in which sells some of the highest quality veggies & fruits. We would like to know more about your country. What are your country's favorite things to do? etc.

" Well now we have a trade agreement in principle, I am eager to talk about a non agression pact " said prime minister Smith " I no your policy is one of non agression to other nations but if we could have a formal agreement them I feel this would foster a greater trust and friendship between our peoples, and possibly open the door to an expanded aliance " Looking out the window he couldn't help but admire the monorails fluid motion and thought to himself that Titarnian cities could benifit from such a marvel, hmm a train without wheels amazing.

Maureen June nodded her head and said, "If you wish." Their monorail pulled up. Maureen June began to get on.

Simon Blake was working late at the Bureau of Foreign Affairs, when a message from the Republic of Larogera crossed his desk.
Hmm interesting, no doubt the prime minister will want a state trip there too.
Simon pick up the phone it rang for a few seconds and captain Wilson answered
Blake " whos this "
Wilson " captian Wilson on board th Great Titarnia 1 "
Blake " This is Simon Blake of the Bureau of Foreign Affairs can I speak to the Prime Minister "
Wilson " The prime minister isn't aboard sir, he is meeting with the Temme delegation he should return in two days "
Blake "Ok thank you captain will you tell him to call me as so as he returns its of the upmost importance "
Wilson " Of course sir "
Blake " Thank you, good bye ".

As they seated themselves, Maureen June asked the Prime Minister, "So, what is Titarnia like?"

" wonderful " the prime minister said as he followed M's June on to the monorail, his aides and guards followed them on to the monorail his guards sitting at a safe distance, not close enough to hear but close enough to avert an 'incident'.

"That's great. Tell me more."

"Titarnia is an island state,at some point in our past one of our rulers thought it would be a good idea to build a wall around us, to preserve our culture, we have three major cities with ports which for the past few centuries where used by fishermen, there are several towns towards the middle of Titarnia which developed mainly because of our large cattle farms, however the town of silent waters which surrounds the beautiful carm silent waters lake is a heaven of the rich and priveleged"
Taylor Smith reflected for a monment before continuing
" We are currently building our first international airport 3 mile to the north east of Yorlay, our capital city.....and im curious about your nation could you tell me a little about it please ?"

"Temme is fairly large. We have a billion people. We're famous for our environment and social equality. In the south of Temme, we're mostly grassland. People make jokes about how flat it is. The northern part is more wooded. It's very cold in the winter."

"hmm yes your country is very nice, when we our finished with our negotiations you should visit our little nation I think you will find silent waters lake very relaxing" said Taylor Smith " I mean that international politices can be very...stressing " he finished with a smile.

The priminister has sent some directions for me to tell you. He will be arriving at 5:16 p.m. Friday on the Monorail (used in our country as well) with DI Kevin Laverne (his assistant), and me, his secretary. Thanks and good wishes.
