Seeking Mars Land

In an attempt to leave our mark on one more planet in the universe, we are willing to pay any amount for land on the planet Mars.

We have allocated 20% of our Military budget for use as Exploration and expansion funds. That is roughly $4,800,000,000,000. Please reply with your offers.

...Come on. All I need is a chunk of land no bigger than Nebraska or New York.

What exactly are your intentions for this land? Why do you think you need so much? At this point the idea isn't that attractive - even now there are far too many nations who don't seem to be doing much with their claims. Do you want it because it's there, or do you want it because you are willing to do something with it?

It will be a mostly civilian settlement. There will be a small military force for basic defense and law enforcement. Other than that, it will be hotels, resorts, apartments, housing. Just a Foe Hammer colony.

Sunset, do you have the amount of land I'm looking for?

In that case I would suggest avoiding the considerable expense of laying maglev lines, running water, sewer, and electrical, and of course construction and simply leasing or buying existing space. Given the highly capitalist nature of many of the nations most will have no problem with FH corporations investing in existing companies or simply building branch offices in existing arcologies.

Actually, we prefer to build and operate our own arcologies. The cost of such a project means nothing to us, as we have more materials than we would ever need (We have just scrapped ~150 9km long space vessels).

How much would you like for a plot of land roughly the size of Nebraska?

The entire value of your nation. Seriously. Land on Mars is extremely valuable and rare with developed land being extremely valuable. A fully developed patch the size of Maryland will run you 3.6 quadrillion. Granted this is an estimated cost based on the potential value of the land.

Okay, how about the size of Omaha, not even fully developed?

It might be doable. Here's the deal though - Eniqcir holds most of the undeveloped land in trust as he has pipelines and whatnot running all over the place to advance the terraforming. Right now he is on vacation or at least not at a connection. So while the request is doable, it will have to wait for his return - likely in September.

It can't wait. I'll be completely bogged down in September, with my business moving locations, and I'll also be going to UNL part-time. How much can Sunset provide currently for $4.8 trillion?

Nothing - sorry. We are currently at full capacity due to a couple of humanitarian issues that popped up recently. It's possible that another nation might have what you are looking for though.

I'm afraid that Wazzu does not have what your looking for. Sorry.

There are plenty of squatters on Mars who own land just to own it. It's pretty cool to be able to say "@@NATION@@ owns land on Mars", but why not share the wealth with nations who could really use some expansion?

Foe Hammer is exceedingly overcrowded. 2000 square miles isn't much to ask for when you're talking about Mars, a planet with roughly 55,970,460 square miles of land. That's, what, .007%?

And believe me, $2,400,000,000 per square mile is a deal you shouldn't pass up.

...Even 400 square miles would suit us just fine.
