The People's Liberation Army of Aerion issued their statement of purpose today using hijacked Aerion satellites, and newsfeeds. This has been sent throughout the world as far as it can reach.

"Why we fight the Aerion Monarchy"

1. Because it is not legal

The Aerion Monarchy, and the Royal Government is unresponsive to the voice of the people. It serves the Aerion people in no way other than for its own reasons. It oppresses citizens when they resist its tyranny. It offers no democracy on the national or provincial level, only those whom the King, and his Privy Council directly appoint. It does not allow free market, as the King charters out only certain corporations to hold monopoly on certain goods, and leaves little choice of employment for many citizens. The higher classes are immune from legal prosecution, and exempt from certain laws.

2. Because it is not moral

As a monarchy with genuine accountability, it uses force to maintain its reign of terror over the citizenry. It enforces taxes without respect for the needs of its citizens. It ignores the hundreds of thousands of homeless in the streets while indulging in its own excesses.

3. Becase it is not socially responsible

As a force of totalitarianism, it suppresses free thought and communication. It censors those who speak against it. By force it rules over the people, separating itself behind walls both literally and figuratively. Public education is terrible, only providing up to the 8th grade, and all of the elite send their children to private schools or can afford to send them to Royally chartered universities.

4. Because it is corrupt

Every single member of the Royal Government is required as an unnofficial rule to join Aerion Freemasonry, and swear vows to each other. Even down to the provincial, and local officials are part of this Freemasonic system to the point that it has become a "secret government." The executives of corporations, and the leaders of academia as well as many well-known clergymen are also members. Freemasonry does not reveal its members, or locations of its lodges. Though the membership is well known. King Wasterin X himself is a 33rd degree Scottish Rite Freemason, and on the Supreme Council. The men that are part of this organization use it totally to their own gain through networking, and power. The elite live off of the people of Aerion like a leech, indulging in wild excesses as people starve in the street or can barely get by.

Therefore, the People's Liberation Army of Aerion has declared that it is at war with the current oppressive regime of Aerion, and the "elite" who oppress us. As this is a war, the People's Liberation Army of Aerion will use force against these oppressors. We feel we have the right, and the reason to wage war against this government. We are not terrorists, but freedom fighters. We will use guerilla, and covert methods to accomplish our goal of liberation of the Aerion people. However, we will seek to minimize civilian casualites as in any war. We encourage the people of Aerion, and the peoples of the world not to see us as terrorists as the Monarchy will falsely label us but as freedom fighters.

The Prime Minister listened to the newsfeed as it ran across the screen of his computer terminal. "Hmm.." he thought as he stroked his chin thoughtfully. He had seen the slums of Aerion in his recent visit there, and it disgusted him. "Now I have a chance to do something about it."

The Soviet Socialist Republic fully supports the efforts of the PLA of Aerion, however, we will be unable to send support at this time, as we have previous obligations in the nation of Hallad.

New Genoa sees very little difference between "freedom fighters" and "terrorists." These terms are just used to cloak a group's actions, whether they be noble or atrocious in intent or action.

New Genoa urges the Aerion monarchy to make peace with the PLA; not through war or suppression, but through diplomatic talks. We also ask that the PLA to NOT carry out a guerilla war or any war for that matter. We, as a pro-peace nation, believe that there is a peaceful solution for any conflict and that if one cannot find one that merely means that neither side has tried hard enough, ie, not explored enough options.

New Genoa would be willing to act as a neutral force in mediating a peace treaty and compromise between both sides if you so wish it. However, we do NOT condone the either side's actions. Though your case is appealing and it is quite obvious that you depict the current administration as "evil," this observation is obviously biased. We morally support a free society where all are entitled to life and liberty, but we do NOT support violence unless in the VERY EXTREME cases which involve absolute life or death.

"Every one of these terrorists will be rounded up, and executed as traitors to the Crown. They will not get away with their actions long, for all citizens are being watched, and they cannot hide. Members who turn in their fellows, however, will receive Royal Pardon, and be allowed to live. The King has expressed that it is his will that he will NOT tolerate these terrorists."

In The revitalised Igovian Soviet Commonwealth, Beth Gellens are almost uniformly supportive of the APLA, comrade Chairman Graeme Igo remarking in a Commonwealth Final Senate meeting at Portmeirion that, "...you (the APLA) have the country at your feet, you can kick the whole nation forward!" which was taken to be meant in encouragement of the revolutionary struggle. Beth Gellert's wide-open political system has made it essentially impossible to hide the strength of the movement for involvement in the Liberation's cause. It is feared that Commonwealth comrades acting on their own accord may already be seeking to access Aerion, intent on documenting and perhaps joining or otherwise supporting the movement.

The people of Aerion are very grateful for the international assistance being offered to the People's Liberation Army. We will soon overthrow the monarchy, and the tyranny it represents. Truly, this nation will be a nation of the people, and not of the corrupt elite.

Menelmacar's position is that the APLA manifesto raises some legitimate concerns. However, this does not in any way justify terrorist actions against the Aerioni government. Menelmacar roundly condemns terrorism in all its forms, and we will be watching this APLA's conduct closely; if it displeases us, we will place them on our terror watch-list and deal with them accordingly.

Pamphlets circulated the streets, especially in eastern Aerion, after the attack. These pamphlets said that the APLA claims full responsibility for the attacks upon the Royal Airship, and does so as freedom fighters for the Aerion people.

The Eternal Dominion of Wretchengard dismisses this Aerion People's Liberation Army as yet another band of lowly terrorists who seem to have forgotten the one constant in life itself; the strong rule the weak. There is a reason why the shepherd leads the sheep, you know. Your rulers run the government because they are fit to do so; a rabble of peasants is not. Fight the system if you must, but your actions are in vain. Even if you triumph, your work will be undone. In any system, the strong will rise to the top to dominate. You can count on that.
