Aerion Headline News

"Today, His Majesty King Wasterin X by Royal Decree has declared an national mandatory genetic registration by every citizen of Aerion. These tests shall be done by blood, or hair samples. Citizens may visit their doctor, civic center, courthouse, school, or other designated testing center to receive this mandatory test. In the same decree, His Majesty King Wasterin X set up the Office of Genetics under the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs. Many are protesting this decision, citing the past regimes of Aerion's attempts at eugenics programs, and genetic "purity." There are rumors this genetic testing may, in the near future, serve as an more fool-proof identification system other than the National Identification Card (NIC) required by every citizen now. The NIC already combined the credit card, bank card, driver's license, social security card, and employee id card commonly used in other nations. Some more loud commentators have claimed that this is just a sign of further future oppression by the King."

To His Majesty King Wasterin X of Aerion

We have been considering taking similar steps in our own nation, but naturaly, there is quite some opposition to the idea. As we are in an election year, we will be waiting for the results of the election before this matter is further discussed. We would appreciate if you kept us updated on your progress, as we are eager to have a model from which we may work should we eventually decide to perform this proceedure ourselves. Please advise.

To Athissa Alitsia de Viennois, Directoress of Universalist Totality

Directoress,

His Majesty is not able to personally reply to such inquiries, but his personal secretary forwaded this inquiry to me. The details of this project are national secrets, however I would state the following, and obvious. This Office of Genetic Testing has described the benefits to the public of such procedure. A library of genetic samples insures that A) Practically fullproof prevention of the theft of identity B) Final identification of a person, allowing identification of family lines, and preventing sometimes confusing paper birth records. C) Aiding in the fight againt diseases that affect certain genetic predispositions. There are many more specific benefits of national genetic testing, but these sum up the major general benefits.

Sincerely,
Deputy Director Thero Rekti
