Allanean Embargo, the "Private" in Enterprise

George Madros stepped confidently from the sleek chrome TransCorp executive jet into the vacant Allanean airport. Surprising how empty it is in here already, he thought, KIST is working quickly.

But Madros didn’t have time to wait and ponder the realities of sudden embargo. He had business to attend to, and hoped that the Alanean government and corporations would be eager to hear him out while everyone else was shutting them down. So Madros tugged his suit jacket tight, rubbed off the sheen of sweat forming on his brow, and looked for his contact.

After several hours, his cellphone rings.

"Oh, Mr. Madros, we're terribly sorry! Apparently there was no place in the Port Allanea International and they diverted you to some airfield of tertiary importance. We've been waiting for you there for hours! I think we'll have to sue the airline."

George couldn't help but grin. If their air-traffic control was that bad, they were hurting...and he couldn't help but laugh at the thought of them sueing the corporation that was offering them help....

"Thats fine, quite understandable. I imagine you have some sort of ground transport that won't get lost? That is, if your still interested in forign support...."

"No, we are not in need of help at all. We need business. Namely, we are selling a large amount of military equipment for gold or other precious metals."

Were they insane? Since when did mega-corps offer aid to struggling nations? Maybe they think I'm offering a loan?

"Well, thats too bad, it was business I was offering. When you get desperate enough, if you get desperate enough, give me a call. We may come to a fiinancial arrangement as good as a small fraction of what I was offering.

"Good day!" George Madros hung up...you simply couldn't come to a deal with those too stupid to recognize the mutual advantage in trade. But then, that was one of the cogs in business today, no matter where you went, there was a cog in an otherwise great buisness. George hoped dearly the poor bastard would be fired by a keen manager before he could do any more damage.

Turning towards his plane, he wished the nation all the best.
