OOC — Who owns Triton?

Just wondering, because I was thinking of an RP involving me coming into posession of all or part of the Neptunian moon of Triton, or at least digging huge tunnels and hollowing it out.

Conflicting 'claims'.

Moontian claims the entire neptune system.

Some random idiot whose name I forgot claims Triton.

Capsule Corporation has (or had) a base on Triton.

I have a small outpost (~ 1 mio citizens, so... well, relatively small. And currently with problems, since 9/10 of my population are either dead or will be dead soon) there. Expansion of Neptunian holdings see here (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=321113&highlight=Neptune) (original thread lost, I think... In any case, it *mentions* Triton, hence, it's good enough)

I think The Imperial Navy has *something* there, too.

Personally, I would suggest just going ahead. Claiming an entire moon the size of Triton? Yeah, right...

Roseway, there are a lot of other moons out there. I'll just name a few for you; Titan (Saturn) and Io, Europa, Ganymede, Callisto (Jupiter). There are some large asteroids, namely Pallas, Juno, Vesta etc...What about the planet Mercury?

I did the smart thing and decided to place my species outside of the Sol system:D

1. I need to add that the (formerly) 1mio people are concentrated on ~ 0.2% of neptune's surface area...

2. Titan is claimed by a fuckton of nations. Io is claimed by another fuckton of nations. Europa is almost entirely claimed, Ganymede & Callisto have free space, but with neighbors.

Uranus is, I think, the emptiest region in sol, with about three or so nations having holdings there.

Edit: Mind you, you can always do the 'parallel universe' routine... But still.

In any case, as far as *I* am concerned, there is enough free space on Triton. For a couple more nations.

Well, as long as they don't go 'I own the entire/ half the moon'.

I'm entirely out of the Solar system as well, but I need a military installation or two in there for... cool stuff. Yeah. Triton is very far out without being Pluto. I don't like asteroids and Mercury is entirely on the wrong side of Earth.

And then nobody who speaks English as a first language can say "Uranus" without giggling.

So thanks, Der Angs'.

Meh, Mercury's got a few nations there anyway.

OOC: Yes, but of the three nations I know of who've got stuff on Mercury, one is The Seraphim Order, one is TMGH's Caloris Basin robot colony, and one is the Spacer Guilds, who can't handle the gravity (if the Spacers can't handle 1/6th of a G - that's Lunar gravity - they sure as hell can't handle 6/10ths - which is Mercurial gravity).

I thought about sticking a thing on Mercury, but then I realised that it's pretty much got the same metals as an M-type asteroid but with extra gravity and searing heat.

Yes, I claim almost the entire Neptunian system, and I have about 2 billion people there. The Imperial Navy has claims on one of the other moons; Capsule Corp and Der Angst have bases around the place as well.

I think that a few other people have claims on the Uranian system, but I don't remember who.

The best bet is still out of the solar system. This system is packed near to capacity, if it hasn't already reached or exceeded capacity.

At least the Jolt server feels like the old one. We still have the joy of double posts.

Ah, upon further searching I found this thread. Sorry I didn't reply earlier... i replied in your claiming thread, and I believe I was a bit rude lol

Basically, I was the first to officially claim triton... and frankly, I don't care if anyone else takes up space on it, it's a big place... just respect our space.

Updated proof of my valid claim:

OOC: Spacer Guilds is not on Mercury

Actually, yes, they are. They're building some big ring around the equator. Caloris is probably the most active, such as it is. I was also there first, if that matters.

Oh, and, of course, there's a region of Mercurial nations too.

OOC:

Actually, no they aren't. There were talks between the Order and Spacer Guilds - which basically resulted in the Order not allowing Spacer to construct such a ring.

I shall locate the link shortly. Unless, of course, Spacer decided to go ahead anyways without informing us rp wise. As far as I know, no Order member received a telegram from Spacer saying that he was going ahead anyways with the ring construction.

edit: Here's the link.

Not building the ring yet, but still there. By proxy, anyway, since no citizens could actually live on the planet, as pointed out by Tsaraine. And, by the way, I'm still waiting for word from the SOE about that ring, as the talks did not rule it out completely, and ended with the rather ominous "this business was certainly left unfinished...". Methinks the issue has probably been forgotten, and I should remind them.

OOC: Spacer, then you should have informed us it you were still there. That is, we thought you left.

If you wish to continue the rp with some of your thoughts, then please let us know via telegram and I'm sure we can iron out some initial details and any misunderstandings in OOC chatter.

fine with and for me. I have no interest in Mercury.
