I don't know if this thread would ever take off, but I'm going to find out how many people would be interested in taking part in it. If enough people express some interest, then we'll go ahead.

Basically, it will start off as a party RP. Ballgowns and cocktails and so on. However, things will turn nasty and it will dissolve into a hostage situation. How many people would be interested? Post your thoughts.

Bear in mind, this will be the start of a several thread series.

(There will also be "Special" parts for a few people, which will be explained via telegram...)

Sounds interesting I'm in. Bare in mind though that my posting time can be quite "jumpy" as school is starting on monday. But I've always wanted to be in a party RP that goes... wrong.

Oh, I should probably take this opportunity to explain something rather important: when sending people to this party, make them... expendable. That's to say, don't send the leader of your nation unless you're planning on having an election soon, or he has a double.

Sure... just use a terrorist cell. Well, using your actual country would be interesting, but then you'd have a lot of people baying for your blood. When things start to turn nasty, just follow any leads that I give.

That's okay if people start baying for my blood - Roseway is a disliked, inbred little country, but the Empire that penetrates into the NationStates universe is a shining, glorious example of what your nation could hope to eventually almost be if it were a billion times more awesome than it could possibly get. I don't care about Roseway. Blow the bloody place up.

So, we basically send people into this party, it gets taken over by terrorists, and then we send in SpecOps or somesuch to liberate them? Cool, it's got lots of potential. When the terrorists take over, and if word gets out to several nations involved, their military might come in and have arguments with each other! Yeah, there's a lot this could lead to. I am so in.

Reasonably successful? You mean that one in the mountains with Grimzag and the clown gang and defenceless marines wasn't reasonably successful? What does it take to please you people....

Anyway, any Dregruk RP is good for me. I believe Dregruk also started the Gangland RP which was awesome, I just had some in-game problems so I had to stop. So, long story short, I am interested, especially if there will be a claw machine at this party.

And Kanuckistan, I will be using modern tech, but I can see that a few people here may be using future. I don't really care. Just turn up!

Dregruk, will the people that turn up at the ball in their fancy ballgowns and suits be able to carry weapons? When this type of thing has gone on before, you find that half of the guests are amazingly armed to take on a small army rather than ready for a tango.

We have lots of honored nobles to spair and I'm trying to start RPing on NationStates, so I'd be pleased to join. I'm going to be future/modern tech, by the way. Just thought I'd mention that because the country's name sounds fantasy-ish and all.

I'm glad someone asked that. For RPs sake, please limit your weaponry to one pistol per party, not person. So I'm afraid you can't be wandering in with the latest laser-guided anti-tank missile system slung over your shoulder. Which would be pretty damn cool, I have to admit (I may just do that at a party thread now, just to see the reaction)... But it doesn't make much of a hostage situation when the hostages happen to have enough firepower to level a small town.

I'll sign up if you'll have me. Please be warned that I might withdraw if I find I don't have the time to keep up with the RP. I don't like to do these things half-ass.

what kinda of characters do you want for this RP? Military, Civilian. If you could give me some details I could make an character according to the RP.

We've got a bit more room, so Mercs you can join too. But the same rules apply to you as it does to everyone else (So no heavily armed mercenary at the party who decides to challenge the hostage takers, OK?)

Tappee, any kind of character will do, just as long as they've got a reason for being at a party. Civvies are probably a little better suited as being hostages than military types, but having a few badasses in the crowd never hurts...
