IC:
Her light blue eyes sparkled in the reflection of the water as a cool breeze whipped her golden blonde hair from her face. Her skin was lightly tanned and absorbed the heat of the midday sun. She lay on the edge of the bank in the fresh cut grass at the edge of a lake, staring blissfully into the clear water. Her hand reached down to caress the surface and a chill ran through her body. It wasn’t the warmest of water, but it was enjoyable none the less. The air was saturated with the flowery sent of cherry blossoms. She looked toward the academy a ways off. Such a beautiful place this was. She was glad she had the opportunity to be able to teach here. She lifted her eyes toward a white feather within the grass. It came to her at will, and set itself in her hands. A smile slipped across her light pink lips, and she lay back upon the grass, watching the clouds go by.
Is dreaming such a bad thing, Saria? she thought to herself, and closed her eyes.
The aged pages turned quickly as a brilliant emerald blue eye scanned each page, reviewing countless sections of information. Shane was much more than a common librarian. No one quite knows how he lost use of his left eye, which remained now completely white. No one had the courage enough to ever ask him. He had an easy going personality, but could be rather rough at times. Perhaps that was the reason that him and Qui got along; the aggression. However, when trapped within books and literature as well as linguistics, he found himself at easy and rather quiet. The light at his desk lamp slowly flickered out. “Bloody hell, not again.” He sighed heavily, and scribbled something on a rectangular piece of paper. He placed it on the light bulb, and it returned to life once again to light the pages of his books. “That’s better…”
“What should I wear?” Nikita asked, rummaging through random articles of clothing on her bed, her long azure hair falling over her shoulder in front of her face to obstruct her view. Her left eye was blue and her right eye was a light green. In that she resembled her father. Her frame was lean but shapely. In that she resembled her grandmother, Ravelyn. She was always full of life and drew attention to herself without meaning to very frequently.
Wear the black dress…it suits your figure and the occasion… a deep voice said within her mind.
Get out of my head! Nikita replied in frustration. She paused for a moment, and looked at the black dress hanging up in her closet. Why do you always have to be right? A shadowy figure stood in the door frame.
“Because that’s what I do,” he replied and snickered. He began his decent downstairs to leave Nikita to her organizing.
A woman stood in an open room. Various mats were laid upon the ground as well as a few weapons of the sort. Her hands were tapped up around the knuckles in a black tape which wove through two fingers and up the wrist. Her short black hair fell just below her ears. It was both layered and angled. A deep blood red streak was on the foremost right side of her hair, and fell to frame her deep grey eyes. She stood in front position, her right hand in a fist, her left hand in a blade connecting directly over it. She began running through counterstrikes, blocks, strikes, and various combinations. As she started, the adrenaline began to rush through her veins. Her eyes turned a brilliant black as her heart beat faster and faster. She did not know she was being watched.
A man around six foot six stood at the door way, his frame shadowed by the little light that seeped through the closed curtains. Nagi was always one to practice with little light, and he liked it that way. He had short white hair but he appeared no older than twenty seven. He possessed a rather built and tall frame. His left eye was blue, and his right eye was a deep brown. With the right light, it could appear to be red. He was rather good looking. There was something very much intimidating about him. Perhaps it was more overwhelming than anything else. He watched the girl practice.
Within seconds he was behind her, grabbing her around the waist, and pulling her backwards towards him. He laughed, and a wide grin exposed a set of fangs. “you always like the dark Nagi?”
“Nuh-uh!” she said defiantly, trying to get out of his grip. “Not this time Qui!” She squirmed a bit, but it only made him laugh harder. He brought his lips to her neck and gently kissed her soft skin. He felt her loosen up a bit.
“Remember when I surprised you after dinner that night in the hallway,” he replied with an effortless grin. “You nearly jumped when you realized I was there. We saw the moon was full, and it was a blood moon, you remember don’t you? And then---“
“I’ve already had you once, and….” She paused.
“And what?” he said with a smile, letting her go. She didn’t respond, she just shook her head. “You can’t even say anything to that because you know you like it…”
“You’re outrageous!” she said, and stepped toward him as he feinted back. She gently started pushing him back with her hands putting pressure on his chest. “And unruly and arrogant…”
“You forgot good looking,” he smiled and received a powerful palm to the chest. He stepped back twice, and laughed. “Oh don’t kill me Nagi for simply admiring you…”
“ugh!” she said in frustration and pushed him out of the room.
Qui Shentavo laughed and made his way down towards the main hall. He took a left and went up toward the staff rooms. The students would be arriving soon, and he wouldn’t be seen until orientation later that night. He ran his hand through his short white hair, pushing it back from his eyes with his usual smirk.
There was a bright young girl at the receptionist desk. She had white hair and piercing silver eyes. Her skin was lightly tan and she wore a pink shirt. She had already been at the academy, Saria had taken her up as an apprentice, so she stayed with her. She would help direct the new students and give them their keys. They probably didn’t know she was a student as well. Her name was Kurai, and she was a water kappa. She wore a light pink shirt and leaned her elbows on the desk, placing her head in her hands as she waited. It was a great hall. There was a grand staircase that went all the way up. You could go to the east or west wing. To the left was the restaurants if you traveled down the window lined halls. To the right was lounges and such. It was a gigantic building, and many found it easy to get lost. That is why there was orientation. Orientation was in the grand ball room which was straight up the stairs right in front of you. Students couldn’t miss that. The orientation would be tonight and until then, students could get situated in their rooms or mingle with other staff and students.
And so…the fourth year began.

James walked through the streets looking for the right place. He was dressed in what had come to be widely regarded as the regular garb for people like him. Black clothing, black trenchcoat. He carried a black duffel bag.
"Damn, I'm so freaking stereotypical."
He spotted a clothing shop and ducked in for a while. He came back out, dressed the same, but at least now he wouldn't be dressed like Neo for his entire stay at the academy.
He got a ride in a taxi and came to the campus. He got out, payed the fee, and began walking towards towards the academy. He came to what he figured was the main building. He entered through the main doors and came to the reception desk. There was a pretty girl at the reception desk. He walked up to it and looked at her. "Hi. I'm a new students here. James D. Malakym. Checking in."

A man entered through the front door. He stood at 5'11, his skin a light bronze color from the sun which he had been exposed to most of the day. On his head he wore a red berea, covering his brown curly hair, with a blue dragon badge on it. On the badge was a single bronze bar, a 2nd Letenant. He wore green camoglague and just visableon his right sleeve was a shield with the number 17 on it. A 2nd Lt. of the 1st Airborne/Special Forces Corps, 17th Airborne Division.
Dirk Wolfe stood in the doorway his mouth wide open. He had a duffle bag slung around his back and an aviator's kit bag in his right hand. Wonderful, a big switch from the barracks with the 73rd. He moved forward to the desk. He smiled at Kurai.
"Hello, I'm Dirk Wolfe. Is this where I check in?"

The girl smiled and giggled. She walked out from behind the reception desk and pulled off a stray price tag off his new clothing. "My name is Kurai," she grabbed a key from the desk and handed it to him. She observed another walk in, and handed him a key as well. The smile never slid from her face.
"Welcome to the academy. You can find your room up the stairs and down the left corridor. After you can come back down, get something to eat. The orientation starts at eight o clock."

Michael entered the building through the main doors
and stood in awe at the gracefulness and splendor of the place,
obviously far removed from the station back home. He carefully dragged his luggage up to the reception desk, looked at the rather fetching girl there and said "Hi, i'm Michael Alarin, first year student, checking in, and is there anything else i need to know about this place before settling in, such as schedules or if there is any, work materials?. And where do i hand in my twin CSAAs for safekeeping? or will i have to leave them elsewhere before beginning classes?, they are of course unloaded"

Kurai smiled. "Um...I can take them." Kurai crossed from behind the desk and retrieved them, seemingly making them disappear. "Don't worry, they are safe. You can pick them up at the end of school from Nagi, the A.C. instructor." She then handed him a key. Dorms are on the second floor, and once you get settled, the orientation will start at 8 tonight. Since its noon right now, you have time to browse.

"Thank you." Dirk smiled, gently took her hand, and kissed it. "See you later." Dirk walked upstairs. Room 17. He opened the door and smiled. A bed. Dirk put his things down and lay down. This is great. It was then he noticed his uniform was somewhat dirty. He took it off and walked into the bathroom. His dogtags were in a leather pouch with a clear plastic side, showing the information. There was also a small engadement ring inside, it had belong to his late girlfriend. He had only proposed to her a few months before, then she was murdered on the streets of Hampton.
He walked into the shower and let the hot water relax him. Hot water, soft bed, this place is much better than a stinking foxhole or barrack. He climbed out after several mintues and dried himself off. A scar was on his front left shoulder, marking the entry point of an AK-47 bullet he recived his first year overseas at 18. He put on fresh fatigues, like his old ones exepct they had his name on the left side. Picking up his bera, he looked at his watch, left his room, and began to explore.

A low black sports car pulled into the Academy's parking lot and promptly died. A slim figure stepped out and kicked the car hard.
"Piece of junk. Oh well, after all, you're my piece of junk." She quipped to herself and spun around to look over the building and the pleasing landscape around it. "Yes, pretty place, better than the pictures."
She stepped in to see that she had been pre-empted by several people in her effort to get here early and make a positive impression, one which usually didn't last too long.
She stepped up to the receptionist and smiled. "Hiya, I'm new here, so I need a key to my room, correct?"
'Vampires, angels, and demons, oh my.' She mused internally, recalling what Four had told her about the history surrounding this place. 'He always seems to know everything. I have to find out how he does it one of these days.'

Nepel walked through the doors, still amazed at the interior. Its sure good to be back again. He carried a suitcase with his things and tucked under his black coat is his scimatar, which he tends to always hide. He grown a bit, 5"9 now than his 5"5 last year, and hes built up more than usual.Just being here brings him back memorys, alots of ememorys, good or bad. His midnight dark skin shining by some of the light inside, he walked to the desk. "Hi Im Nepel, so this is where I check in now?". giving her a warm smile.
Michael's journey to Rave Shentavo was thankfully a pretty uneventful one, as Michael had bearly had chance to get used to the time difference between the two nations. With several hours sleep behind him it looked like he would get to the academy with some energy left, something which could be important concidering the active security issues and messing around that had been encountered last time. Never the less, Michael Willis had arrived.
Michael carefully pulled out his couple of carefully packed suitcases along with a few other pieces and payed his fare for the taxi before it pulled away into the distance... this was it, he was finally at his new home, away from the comfort of the Iuthian barracks and the company of his friends. Military life had a beautiful order about it which Michael loved, his daily routine had been planned out and he had a perpose in life. Now he was here for additional training, though why they sent him again was a bit of a puzzle.
Michael had shown up remarkably "average" in the standardized mental fitness tests, he was like many other young men within the Iuthian military, determined, eager to impress and generally quite keen and on the ball. The tests didn't show anything special, Michael was pretty average, albeit a rather intelligent average. The only explanation offered was that the Iuthian military wanted to know if anyone could be taught the skills taught at this academy, but whatever the reason he was here again and all the bill were paid and additional spending money was available, though Michael knew better then to abuse this, it would look bad on his record.
The size of the academy grounds was impressive enough without seeing the main building, which quite franky was amazing to someone who, like Michael, came from a nation without a true understanding of art. Many Iuthian building were set towards efficiency and durablity with a strong defendable capabilty... who would have thougtht that one could build something simlpy to impress others? Michael was both pleased and mildly nervous about seeing this place again... he'd failed miserably the last time and now he came back to have another go.
Upon arriving at the information desk Michael calmly went to get his room key and confirm his presence. He placed his bags on the floor, and walked up to the desk. Michael had a look a sweet innocence about him, he was a rather naive lad as Iuthia was pretty different in comparison to most places and Michael often looked lost, but not to bothered about it. There was almost something youthful about this expression, were it not for his hieght and build.
Michael was just a few inches over 6 feet tall and his body was well toned with two years of military regime and training, his skin was a little tanned due to Iuthia's warm climate and his hair was short, in memory of the military fashion for keeping hair out of the way... but his eyes, his eyes displayed his innocence the best. Green without a hint of doubt that any harm would come of him.
"Err... hello? I'm here to check into the academy please. My name is Michael Willis. Thanks." He said, a little unsure about this sort of thing. Michael still hadn't really had much experience with civilians and this moment felt a little uncomfortable...

A blue sportbike pulled up to the front of the school as a taxi pulled away. The rider turned off his bike and jumped off. Taking the duffle bag he had on his back and loosening the strap. He removed the helmet to reveal relatively long black hair, which grew back, away from his forehead. He had taken care to dye the gray that had been coming through. However, his face had the youthful look of a 25 year old. His tan skin revealed his Native American heritage that was nothing to him anymore. He stood at 5'10 and was of lean build, not overly muscular at all. He stretched and cleared his throat before walking up to the building. He was dressed in a long black leather coat, open in the front revealing a white undershirt. He wore regular blue jeans, worn and faded from constant use and washing. He leaned over and brushed some dirt off of his grey sneakers before opening the door and walking to the receptionist.
"Good day. I'm Jeremiah Illiac. And what might your name be?"
<After recieving her name>
"Such a lovely name. Well, to the point. The letter read that I should report here for my room and anything else I need. And I must say, I'm very happy I get to share it with you. But don't you think it's a little to public here? I mean I'm sure there are more private rooms available."
He smiled, revealing two fangs, and took the key as she handed it to him.
"Will we be staying seperately, or are room mates assigned?"
This was more a question for the safety of a possible room mate. Jeremiah tended to get a little unruley on full moons.

Elfira glanced over at the Drow that had stepped up beside her and the Elf instinctively felt a quick surge of repulsion.
'Drow...Four didn't tell me about that...' She pondered, before she rapidly wiped the look from her face and replaced it with her previous smile.
She took this chance to scan over the other applicants to the Academy. All of them so far were young and strong, but no one was overly flashy. Except for, perhaps, herself.
The young Elf wore her usual outfit, which was a crimson skintight tacsuit covered for the most part by a pale grey cape, which matched the silver hair that danced along her back when she walked. She looked a bit like she was expecting everyone to suddenly turn on her.
Her eyes fell to the ground, and she promised herself she'd get out of this foolish outfit the moment she could.

Quietly Joshua walked up to the acdemy doors craying only a bag over his shoulder and a slender case. He recalled the past three years he spent here smirking slightly since he was one of the few senior students. After recalling quickly he reached the receptionist. "Joshua Knightly. I'm checking in...again," he said slightly adding the again, "Also just wondering is it posible for me to get my old room. When I was under the name Maxwell.?"

It still felt strange using her true name, she hadn't heard it since she was maybe five...during the time of far off explosions and poverty and prisons of steel and corpses and the crack of whips. The civil war. That's where she knew the name from. Her eyes lit up.
"And...sorry for being nosy but...who was your father?" She asked, cocking her head to one side in curiosity.

James came to his room and entered it. He threw his bag onto the bed and looked down. The floor looked as though it had been replaced in a spot. Oh well, nothing really worth going further into. He walked around the room, familiarizing himself with it's layout. Once he was done, he left the room and headed back downstairs.
Steel Magnolia

"The beginning sets the rules." - Mason, Cooley. US Aphorist.
A fairly new white van rolled down the street, its windows were tinted to the point that only mere silhouttes of the figures within could be seen. The glossy shell reflected most its surroundings, from the blacktop road, the woods which the road cut through and the sun as it began to slowly descend back into the Earth. At the side of the door were the flag of Steel Magnolia, and the name of the country's military branch written in the jagged letters of the nation. The van hummed softly as it moved through the more enclosed and narrow areas of the street, a slight clue on what was actually the fuel the vehicle was using. From a bird's eye view, the solar panels placed above the van was quite obvious, but at ground level it was hardly noticeable unless one was looking for it. The reasons why they had to use the van was between the two governments, though it would more likely because of the special needs of the contents inside.
It moved up the curb, and through the open gates of the academy. The humming slowly disappeared as it began to approach the doors of the main academy, and slowed down right behind a parked motorbike. The distinctive sound of the van's sliding door opening broke the gentle tranquility of the vast academy grounds. Several light footsteps followed as two men, obviously soldiers due to their distinctive navy blue uniform, and their physique. Then out came the new student, stepping on the ground with little sound, save for the van rising a few inches as he steps off the van.
Esteban stood before the building, and marveled at its beauty while his hands moved gently along his wrists, relieved that the shackles were removed. It was rather difficult to wonder where his eyes moved since it was all quite pale, not even his iris had any colour. His skin was pale, and was nearly as glossy as the van behind him, though his skin did not secrete any sort of oil to provide its smoothness. His hair, cut in the manner that rebellious teen might have, was in a mohawk. He stood close to six feet, wore a white cotton shirt, navy blue cotton jogging pants, and wore black military boots. He was indeed a soldier, and his physique was excellent compared to those of his age. If he stood still, he might have looked like a chiseled marble statue. Though he was more like a walking porecelain doll since his face only revealed glimpses of the emotion he was feeling at the moment.
One of the soldiers followed behind him with two meshnet dufflebags which showed the contents of his bag, visible for security reasons. The bags had clothes, a book, a couple of his favorite snacks, and other things people might bring when they traveled, though one of the bags had several plastic containers which contained water. Esteban did not seem like one who would need large quantities of water, but nothing can surprise those who reside in the academy with vampires, and other beings with unusual needs.
"Esteban of Steel Magnolia, reporting in." He spoke in a sturdy manner as he stood rigidly in front of the desk with his bags beside him while the soldier walks away. "So when does the..."
"Finally he's gone," Esteban said in relief as he heard the soldier's footsteps disappear after the van had close its door, "Better here, than with them."

Skadi landed within the occupied carpark, not taking much notice of the vehicles present. She was glad to be out of the plane, but it was necessary to make the long journey from Assington so quickly. Being well over 1000 years old, some forms of technology still didn't appeal to the ancient vampire, but on the rare occassion, she would bare it since she was not able to cover the distance on her own.
Standing at 5'11", Skadi was no woman to be underestimated. Her life of violence and darkness has resulted in a competent warrior and markswoman with a ruthless willingness to kill when necessary. With Maximus long dead, Skadi had nothing of actual importance to her, making her all the more dangerous when provoked. The dull black of her coat, shirt and pants was an extreme contrast to the perfectly white face of an old vampire, making Skadi quite an interesting character to view.
Avoiding sunlight had been another issue that the vampire had struggled with. To her surprise, she discovered she had developed a reasonable resistance to the forbidden warmth of a star. It was still lethal, but only after prolonged exposure.
She had nothing with her save for the clothes upon her body and the sheathed blade within her left hand. She had aquired the katana back in her early days as a vampire, forged by a very close friend that had died due to the evils of her own brethren. Those she was close with always seemed to have a history of untimely death.
Clearing her mind of the flight into the nation, Skadi purposely strode through the front doors and directly up to the desk. She ignored all others within the room save for the girl at the desk, whom recieved the glare of her dark eyes.
"I shall be attending, I would require a room."
The directness of her voice was obvious that she didn't want to bother with idle chat.

Kurai handed out the keys, and explained the directions and that orientation would begin at eight o clock. As she looked at Joshua, she possessed quite a likeness to Kenja, though a little younger.
Welcome Skadi, a voice said to her. You should fear light so. Come, I have a special request of you. Walk up the stairs and take the elevator up to the fourth floor. It's the first door in front of you, should be easy to find.

Skadi nodded in thanks to the desk girl as she took the keys. The voice did not startle her at all, such things were expected at a place like this. Without saying a word, Skadi made her way up the stairs and quickly into the elevator.
She didn't take much notice of the fine decorations and furnishings, it was of little importance to her. Over her many years she had occupied a wide range of living conditions, some less desirable than others, but for the most it was adequate.
Doors slided open with a ding, allowing the female vampire to exit the carpetted lift and move toward the door she had been instructed to find. Without knocking, she gracefully swung it open and moved inside.

He sat at a desk toward the back center of the room, turning around to face the woman, a smile crept across his face. His eyes sparkled as he saw her, and the infamous Qui beckoned her forward. They looked about the same age, but in reality many years separated the two. Qui lifted a red vial from the table which was filled with a black liquid. It was small, perhaps only this size of chapstick. He got up from the desk, and crossed the room slowly to Skadi, sizing her up. He passed around her once in observance.
“My dear Skadi, this meeting has been long since overdue,” he said in a soft voice with a grin on his face. He took her hand and gently kissed it, and his lips were unmistakably cold.
He looked out toward the window where only one stream of sunlight shone through. “The weather here is mostly artificial, created by Kurai. Yes, that girl at the desk. The light is much less harsh than normal sunlight, though I still know that that is not enough to stop the burning sensation. Here,” he handed her the vial. “This will allow you to walk in the light as long as you stay here. There is only enough for the time you spend here, give or take a month.” He looked down to the vial and enclosed it within her hands.

Dirk was walking outside by the pool. When he had left he had spotted a woman clad entirly in black, there was something about her that seemed different. He just couldn't place his finger on it. He kneeled and put his hand in the water. Nice, might go for a swim later on. Turned and headed back inside, taking off his berea and putting it in his front pocket on his jacket. His jumpboots made a distinitive thump as he headed back up the stairs. He walked into his room and after only a few minutes came out with a case. Dirk decided to head over to the student lounge for a little so he could practice.
He sat on a small couch and pulled a violin out of case. It was easy enough to put it in the duffel bag along with his clothes and things. Dirk tuned the intrument and placed the bow to the strings. Something simple to warm up Beethoven's Ode To Joy soon filled the room, and some of the tune made it's way down the halls.

Skadi immeadiately noticed Qui behind the desk, there was no missing his presence. She kept her dark eyes upon him the entire time he moved around her and greeted her with a kiss. She knew he was far older than her, this didn't surprise her. Whilst she may be considered old in Assingtonian vampiric standards, there were many other breeds of vampire out there from lands far older than Assington. Keeping a calm face, she finally answered his greeting.
"Indeed. It has been a significant time since I came across one older than myself, I am sure there is much we can discuss."
Skadi took a quick glance at the vile within her cold grasp before returning her gaze to Qui. She expected he would have something to deal with the issue of sunlight. Slipping the vile into her coat pocket, Skadi decided it best to consume the liquid later on, after the orientation. She wasn't sure what kind of effects it may have on her to render sunlight harmless, and so she would wait until she was out of the public eye.
"Thankyou Qui, I appreciate your aid in this matter. Do I owe you anything in return?"
Her tone remained flat throughout the sentence, betraying nothing of her thoughts.
Having been given the keys in a rather solemn manner, Michael proceeded to his room on the second floor. He hadn't really dressed for the occasion, but then again, he couldn't really see much of an occasion in anycase. He simply wore his orange shirt and blue jeans... last time Michael wore something closer to uniform but it wasn't really fitting in a school environment so he'd learnt to adapt.
Seeing as everyone else was busy meeting one another and reminiscing Michael didn't really get stopped by anyone on his way to his room, the only person Michael felt attached to in this place was Daedalis, who had left early during his first year on some personal business. She shared something with Michael that first year which noone else could have given him, she too wasn't perfect, she had genuine problems with her Magic, not in the same way that Michael did, who didn't even master the basics, she simply couldn't control her powers... it made her... well, real.
Reality was something that shouldn't be taken for granted in a place like the Shentavo Academy, it had to be cherished because for Michael, whos reality was comfortable town where very little happened, this place was chaotic and full of things he couldn't have imagined possible. Many would enjoy such a chance to see real magic and real power of which the world may never see, but Michael had grown up in a static world where physics ruled... Magic in all it's beauty seemed as dangerous as it was amazing. In such a place Michael didn't fit in.
On that final thought, Michael reached his room. He would have been happy with a bunk bed and a box to put things in, but seeing as the Iuthian government were paying and the Shentavo Academy didn't do minimilist rooms he had to make do with something only the more luxurious hotels in Iuthia catered for. For example, Michael was a pen and paper guy, he hardly ever used a computer but he had learnt the basics in school and covered a small amount in the army, more or less when he was ill and they needed additional admin staff. A computer in his room seemed a little rich for his taste, though if it was internet capable it would be useful for contacting family back home, though he had a phone for that.
Never the less, the room would be perfect... he'd have been happier with less but that wasn't something you ask for and he didn't want to seem impolite, an effort had been made for him. So Michael got unpacked, folded his clothes again and put them away neatly in preparation for the days ahead. He left the window open so he could hear the campus... it wasn't as comforting as the sounds of a military base as the marching and orders being barked in the background reassured him that people were working for the nations safty.
After several minutes, Michael had finished and he was finally settled into his new room. Outside he could hear music eminating from somewhere, though it wasn't close. Michael decided to look around the areas he was permitted to view and try and rememeber where everything is... maybe he could meet some of the students while he was at it.

"Well I'm pleased to met you Elfira. My father....I never knew him. All I know he was a scientist that would geneticly enhance children.," he slowly replied as he took his key. He looked Kurai in the eyes with a gaze that showed some of the pain he felt. He then picked up his case on the floor and began to walk away slowly.

((Am I right in thinking Adam's last name was Maxwell, or have you already gone through three generations?))
Elfira smiled in thanks over her shoulder at the girl who handed her a room key. She glanced down at it. "Rm 18" was imprinted on the golden key.
'How ironic.' She thought, before looking back up at Joshua.
"Oh...I'm sorry." She replied regretfully as he walked away.
She gave a sorry glance to Kurai and walked off.
Her voice trailed back to the receptionist's desk as she retreated. "Much as I doubt that story, Joshua Maxwell."

((I highly doubt I have. I think Phoenix went by Adam for a short time not sure though but both of the are fairly old))
Joshua slowly walked to his old room and opened the door. He looked down at the floor where he fad fallen in his armor and looked at the imprint. He walked around it and tosses his shoulder bag on the bed and gently placed his case on the bed. He quietly turned around and began walking out of the room towards the pool. As he reached the pool he smirked and remembered the time Phoenix was down in the bottem all day playing with his armor.

Or was that Phoenix, too? Oh well, in any case, this discussion would be better placed in the OOC thread. Sorry everybody, just a little curious 'cause it's got potential.))
The Elven Agent stepped quietly into her room and inspected it. It was significantly more luxurious than she was used to, but this was a wealthy and popular place, after all. There was also a lack of hidden surveillence devices. She let out a small laugh at herself. Why would they be watching us through electronics? She was sure the headmaster had more elegant techniques than that. After fufilling her promise to herself and changing into something subtler but stiil highlighting her attractiveness, she spun on her heel and went to follow the music into the student lounge. There she sat down on one of the couches and let the music carry her mind away.
Daniel Able stared out of the window of the Mark II Helicopter and gazed down upon the grounds of the Shentavo Academy.
From his vantage point high above what seemed to be a large field, Able could see figures and shadows move silently into the large Academy Buildings.
It was all he could do to not scream.
Able closed his eyes and shouted out to the driver.
"Do you see anywhere to land?"
"Yes, but it might be a tight fit. A plane just took off from a carpark, but there are more vehicles in now."
"Do the best you can, Johnson. Thanks."
"No problem, Daniel. You ready to do this?"
Able hesitated, and then answered. "Well, I suppose that this can't be any worse than that incident with the Sodomite."
The pilot smirked, and nodded. Able looked back out the window and saw the ground before him rise up to meet him. With a surprisingly steady hand, ABle grabbed his two bags of clothing and other items, and strapped his Upir to his shoulder.
The Strigoi Upir he should add. The sword that really got him into this situation at the first place.
The helicopter landed with a muffled thump. Able swung the door open to the outside and stepped off the tiny ledge.
"So Able, you gonna be ok?"
"I'll be fine, Johnson. After all, I'm the best DEO agent around, remember?"
The pilot flipped the switch to get the rotors going again.
"Actually, Able, you're the ONLY agent here. Good luck."
As the Chopper flew away, Able pulled out a piece of paper from his pocket, and studied it again.

Dear Agent Daniel Jonathan Able,
You have been nominated and accepted for enrolement at the Shentavo Academy. We at the Department of Extra-normal Operations want to help you gain a better understanding of your newfound Strigoi racial makeup.
Per advice of Alexander Kelsing, Head of the Hyraphore Guild, you will study at the Shentavo Academy to learn of your new skills and weaknesses, so that you may be better able to serve Valient as an agent of the DEO.
Good Luck.

Able folded the paper back up into a neat sqaure and tucked it back into his pocket. Hefting his bags onto his shoulders, Able headed into the main hall.
Again, he wanted to scream, but he supposed, that would be... irrational.
He walked up to the receptionist, who was surrounded by anxious people trying to get their rooms for the night.
"Excuse me, I'm Daniel Able... err, where do I go from here?"

'16...' Jeremiah thought to himself as he quickly walked up the stairs. Upon finding his room, he threw down the duffle bag by the bed and took a look around. 'Nice. A little bright, but nice.'
He removed a dark folded sheet from the side pocket of the bag and fastened it over the window. As soon as he had throw his few pairs of clothes into the dresser drawers, be pulled aside the "curtain" and opened up the window. The air was filled with the smells of the forest and meadows, and only a few white clouds drifted through the sky. He sat down on the edge, dangling his legs outside of the building, looking around. He noticed a thin ledge running along each level. He though for a moment of the pranks one could play using it from room to room. It had been so long with House Illiac. He couldn't remember the last time he had just let loose and enjoyed himself in harmless humor. Looking around again, he decided to go for a walk. Jeremiah put his feet against the building's wall, and pushed off, landing on the sidewalk and walking out into the green.

He looked at the female at the desk, noting that she looked as young as the others, and wondered why she was wearing brightly coloured clothes. Though this was not like most of the academies found in his homeland where efficiency through uniformity was the motto. His eyes wandered around as he took the keys and slipped it into the back pocket of his pants. The place was quite liberating to him, there was no armed soldier at every corner, no mandatory devices grafted on to his skin, and no rigid hours set save for the scheduled classes. He knew he was different, the military knew that too, thus he was sent here to be something different.
He was like a child in a candy store as he wandered up the stairs, looking at the others with a curious eyes wondering why they were in the academy, and who they were. His eyes followed the lines, and shapes of the building, as if he was an eager artist hoping to acquire the beauty into his own work. Though at the same time he was piecing the layout of the building, a habit and skill he acquired during his time training in the military. A smile was at his lips as wandered down the halls while listening to a familiar classical piece. Though music was not forbidden in his country, it prohibited at schools.
"13." Esteban glanced at the shiny brone plate which had the number of the room engraved into it and walked into his home. "Much better."
He could not stop comparing the warm and welcoming feeling of the place to the cold and indifferent atmosphere of the barracks. He left his bags at the door way, and headed straight for the other end of the room. He closed his eyes as he parted the draped at the window, and letting the sunlight inside the room. Being senstive to it, he knew that there was something different, but thought that it was probably because he was in a different part of the world. He turned to his side as he found a water dispenser with a full gallon set on it, just as he asked for, and took a cup water to drink. He placed the cup on the desk as he passed by, and just collapsed into his bed.
"Late. Why I'm always late?. for sure everyone already arrived. Why me?. That stupid shuttle had an enormous delay. Too many stops. Well, anyway I'm already here", Daedalis said to herself, tripping a little over the long skirt of her dress, almost falling to the floor as she stepped over the black, silky fabric. Oh how I hate this outfit, she thought, finally walking to the entrance of the campus.
She stopped there, and began to search her application letter on her luggage, but as she tried to lift the suitcase again it opened and drop its contents on the floor, most of it clothes, books and papers, of course for some strange reason the underwear on top of the heap.
Daedalis blushed fiercely as she looked at the mess, and procceeded to try to pick up everything, making even a bigger disaster. For sure this isn't my day, but anyway no day is my day, she said to herself, then she began to return her belongings to the suitcase, at the edge of crying.

A cab pulled up to the front portal of the Academy, in an unceremonious, luggish way. The passenger payed the driver and retrieved her luggage, a single suitcase, from the trunk of the cab. The cabby honked his horn in farewell, a gesture which made her cringe, and sped off.
Antoinette stood infront of the building in silent contemplation, one hand holding her suitcase, the other figiting with the crucifix which rested upon her chest. Off in the distance she saw another fresh arrival, who had apparently lost the content of her bag, and was now franticly trying to shove clothing and other valuables back into it. Antoinette smirked. Normally she would help the stranger, but she was in a particularly anti-social mood today, the warp-lag of her journey still taking its effect on her body and mind.
She let out a deep sigh, and placed the suitcase on the ground. "A grand old place to be sure," she thought to herself, "I must make a note to admire it at least a little once I've gotten some sleep."
She pulled an elastic out of her pants pocket, and tied her long blond hair back into a tight ponytail. She then removed her sunglasses, squinting a little at the sudden brightness of the Shentavan sun, and hooked them onto the neck of her tanktop. Letting out another deep sigh, she picked the suitcase up, and made her way up the passage and to the front door.
Passing the frantic figure shoving things back into her bag, she gracefully opened the front door of the Academy, and entered with a flourish. She carefully made her way through a crowd of early arrivals, and up to what she assumed to be the receptionist's desk. Once there, she dropped her bag, pulled her letter of acceptance out of her back pocket, and handed it to the girl at the desk. "Antoinette Dauphine of Forge, first year student." she delcared, and awaited instructions from the receptionist.

A yelp and a great tumble shook Elfira out of the reverie the music had spun around her, and she felt suddenly restless. With a polite nod to the others in the lounge, she calmly walked off towards the source of the noise. She came upon a large heap of various items scattered over the floor of the lobby, and stood just behind and a little to the side of the Elf who stooped there.
"Um..." A soft voice started behind Daedalis, "can I help at all?"

Joshua noticed Elfira and smiled at her saying, "Nice to see you so soon again. Heh I still havn't gotten your name yet." He slightly fiddeled with his pendent as he placed some of the objects to Daedalis.
The first floor in the Shentavo academy hadn't really changed much since the first time Michael had attended, though thankfully he hadn't walked into any magical challenges yet, which is a good sign given the past of these halls. However, Michael still wasn't comfortable with the place... it was missing something.
As Michael turned around the corner, coming up to the front so he could walk around the academy ground his eyes gaved upon the young elven girl, Daedalis. It had been over a year since he last saw her leaving to attend to family trouble back home and ever since his time at the academy seemed more gloomy... now she stood in front of him, many feet away by the desk trying to sort through her luggage with the help of two others.
For a moment Michael thought back to the few moments he had with Daedalis, they hadn't really had much of a relationship, if any as Michael didn't really come to terms with his feelings and Daedalis herself was a mystery to him... Michael had only seen her for a couple weeks before she left and the place seemed, less real to him...
Michael just stood there.
Daedalis turned to the two people standing near her, and blushed again, stuttering some words. "No, sorry, it's not exactly a problem, you see, it's just that I can now gather everything and...". In a moment she remembered how to cast a simple cantrip of telekinesis to place everything back in her suitcase, but just realizing that her emotional and nervous state wasn't exactly the best for accomplishing such task. However...it was too late.
All things that she were gathering suddenly raised into the air, and with a magical plop, in an instant they were flying in the air as a flock of birds, her dresses, outfits, papers and books slowly falling to the floor carried by the wind all over the place.
For the Valar...when something will end good for me?, she said to herself, covering her face with both hands and kneeling on the floor next to her now empty suitcase.
Near both Eighteen and Joshua all kind of things fell around, all the Daedalis' personal belongings now in the floor. For a coincidence of life, or just another show of Daedalis' bad luck, most of her clothes fell around Michael, most of them the most embarrasing ones...

Dirk finished Ode To Joy. He held the last note for several sconds before he took the bow off the string. If only there were some more violins, violas, basses, and cellos. What should I do next? He looked at his watch, plenty of time to play another tune then take a swim before orentation. He noticed Michael and Elfira and figured they were just resting. He placed the bow on the strings and began to play The Bells of St. Genevieve. Though he played classical and loved it, he still liked classic Rock and Roll. Dirk played from memory, not missing a single note, he wasn't off even by an octave. He was only playing the violin's portion, but he in his mind he could hear other instruments playing.

"Here let me," Joshua said as he used his own telekinesis technique. The items began to float slowly at first then suddenly much more rapid. At one point they gathered over the suitcase and began to float gracefuly down into it.
Jeremiah (http://www.ndr2.de/musik/images/bep_mexikaner_143.jpg) walked solemnly through the gardens. He was still near the buildings, but had found a path where the trees and shrubs grew over and met each other. As he continued on away from the buildings, old trees began to appear. There was no underbrush, but a perfect layer of soft green grass. The trees' branches were not too full of leaves, and afforded great places to climb and sit and think. However, Jeremiah was restless and not in the thinking mood. He lept up, landing crouched down in one of the trees, and instantly sprung to another and another. Vampiric strength was a good thing. He stopped for a moment and heard a classical piece winding its way through the trees. It soothed his restless spirit for a moment.
'I'll have plenty of time for this later.' he thought to himself as he hopped down from the treebranch and made his way back to the main building.
He still wasn't ready to be social and play nice with all the students, so he hopped up, grabbing onto his open window and crawled back into his room. Opening the door, he made his way to the stairs and went up to the 3rd level. "3rd Floor: Classrooms" he read the sign to himself. He made his way down the hall, looking at each door.
"Lore and Languages: Shane McCloud" he opened the door a bit and looked around the room. A small light was on, but the rest of the room was dark...
Michael's case of day dreaming was interupted by a rain of clothes falling around him, many of which were undergarments which weren't really designed for public viewing. Almost instantly Michael gathered his wits and was aware that a few people were looking at him in a funny manner... perhaps they were waiting for some kind of reaction, Michael wasn't too good at figuring out hidden meanings.
However, Daedalis looked like she was on the verge of crying, he didn't really know why, he susposed it was something to do with the clothes being scattered around the room, though that alone didn't really seem bad enough... perhaps she missed home already or was injured. Michael did the best thing he could think of, which was to pick up all the clothes around him and help with what he could.
The odd thing was, as a few people watched Michael simply folded and handled the clothes, was that he didn't seem to realise their significance to Daedalis... clothes were clothes to him and where he came from people saw it as acceptable to walk around without them when it got too hot.
He didn't even blush as he went to hand Daedalis her clothes back...

"Lore and Languages: Shane McCloud"[/i] he opened the door a bit and looked around the room. A small light was on, but the rest of the room was dark...
///////////////////////////////////
Shane lifted his head, startled slightly at the visitor, or student rather. "Come in come in," he said with a rather heavy english accent. His emerald eye cast on Jerimiah. He relized the room was rather dark. He scribled something down quickly on a piece of paper, and placed it on the wall. Light seemed to be cast upon everything, and his frame was more visable.
"Jerimiah, if I'm not mistaken," Shane said with a light smile. It wasn't the happy kind that Kurai possessed, or the perverted grin of Qui, it was a sad smile, but a friendly one. "You know that orientation starts in twenty minutes. You might want to get ready. I suppose I have to myself. But we have time to talk if you wish."
///////////////////////////////////
A figure whirled by the three standing there, and fell right after Joshua. Her long blue hair was tousled, and she fuddled with it quickly, as if she were going to be late for something. She wore a black dress…which strikingly resembled the one Ravelyn wore for the ending ceremony. She stood up and brushed off a bit, blushing as a bit embarrassed.
“If you get caught by Qui your dead (unless your female), if you get caught by one of us, we’ll just send you back to your room.” The woman explained, and then lifted her head with a smile to them. Her left eye was blue, and her right eye was emerald. She did resemble Ravelyn in her figure. Nikita Nonamura, Ravelyn’s successor. It was rumored she had some tie with Qui as well, but that was ridiculous. Qui had no relatives, correct?
“Sorry about that. I’m not clumsy when I’m not in heels for ten hours at least,” She smiled. “You better be getting to orientation soon. It will start in twenty minutes, but if you want to meet some of the teachers you should go now.” Nikita quickly hurried off toward the grand hall.
//////////////////////////////////////
Qui smiled devilishly. Of all the replies he could give… “You owe me nothing, my dear Skadi. Your presence here is enough. Do be careful with that vial though, that blood is very very hard to come by. There is only one person you can get that type from. It is quite potent, so you can understand why it will last a while…”
He passed around her once more toward the door and opened it. “I would like to chat with you later after the orientation, however I must get some things together before then, you understand.” He paused, and held the door open for her to step through.

She cocked her head at Joshua. "Well, what do you say we head up there?"
“If you get caught by Qui your dead (unless your female), if you get caught by one of us, we’ll just send you back to your room.” Some woman appeared from no where, which seemed rather convenient.
Naturally such an event completely confused Michael and he suspected his mind wasn't as secure as would be enjoyed in his own nation. Others around him with telepathic capabilities could feel a minor barrier now being formed by Michael's aura as his natural Iuthian resistance raised along with his discomfort.
He didn't know whether people here would respect his own privacy anymore, while this normally didn't matter to someone who spent half his time in a barracks, matters changed conciderably when it was your own mind... you had the freedom to hate officers without it being public knowledge, they probably knew it anyways but damnit, the idea that they knew exactly what you are thinking would ruin moral. People needed their privacy, at least at some level.
Michael didn't physically stop, he continued to help Daedalis with her packing but to those with the talent Michael had unwittingly reinforced his inherant resistance to magic... the only information available to them was Michaels discomfort, a warning of feeling to come.

Dirk was in his room finishing putting on his Class A uniform. It was a dark green with lighter green pants and black shoes Dirk always kept shining. His nameplate, senior jump wings with combat star, his combat infantry man's badge, and a small purple ribbon on his right side. Purple for a Purple heart. On his right sleeve was a blue shield with a red 17 in it and AIRBORNE on another patch above it. On his left was the Blue dragon in a white square with blue border for the 1st A.SF Corp. His single bars on each shoulder were also perfectly clean. He put on his Class A hat instead of his beara and looked at himself in the mirror. Looking sharp.
It was a look that had captivated many women to try and go out with the young paratrooper. One, Jennifer Morant, a girl he had know since middle school was the only one who succeded. Now she was dead. Dirk knew it would be a while for him before he started dating again.
He had finished playing a while back and decided not to take a swim. He had lost track of time and decided to get dressed for orientation. He thought it better to dress like this than in his field fatigues. He walked out of his room, locked it and headed downstairs to the orientation.

Huddled close to the stairs, and all by himself was the unusual pale one, whose eyes seem to glow even in the shadows. He sat at the edge of the first step down on the second level of the building, and was hiding from the others as he sat close to the railing. He peeked from the stairs once or twice especially during the little ruckus cause by a female who had just entered, though most of the time he was just sitting quietly listening to the conversations. He really had no social life in his country, nor did he really develop any social skills save for talking to other soldiers. This wasn't easy for him. He was not used to such freedom, nor to people who were different to him, and for that matter he was rather uneasy with the opposite gender. It did make him glad that that he was not capable of blushing.
He overheard one of the adults speaking to the group on the first level, and after gathering up all his wits, he pushed himself up. He tried making as little noise as possible as he slowly made his way down the steps, lifting and placing his shoes as quietly as he can. He was quite uneasy, and at the same time a bit angry at himself since he couldn't understand why he was like this. Discipline. Breathe. He tried calming himself down with those two words, and at the same time tried not to make eye contact with the others.

"...hi...I'm not wounded, nor impaired." He said softly as he peeked through the little space between his raised forearms. "I'm just... uneasy."

Nepel stopped his period of meditation and finally decided to get rdy for the orientation. he took off his hood, and changed to a black and blue shirt. He left his scimatar in the corner near the bed, and putted his hood on the desk. He made sure he looked good and all, he finally got his key and locked the door behind him as he leaves.
He walked down the normal ways, he noticed some new faces and ones he recongized. He still kind avoided them, ecspecially Eleven students since they dislike Drow. He waited for the orientation to begin in a corner by himself, scanning among the other students. He really doesn't know why hes this catious all of the sudden, but from what happended last year, he can hardly know whos freind or foe anymore.

"Gah!" Kurai let out a girlish yelp, and jumped back from him, assuming he was going to attack. She raised her hand in defense mode, and unleashed a whip of water at him in bringing her arm up to a defense position. He stood there, soaking wet, and Kurai blushed and was terribly embarrassed. "I'm sorry...I’m so sorry...you can't scare me like that. It's just a natural reaction. I’m a water kappa….oh, I’m really sorry, I’m really really sorry…”
Nikita rushed passed them, but paused for a minute. “Kurai, get your powers under control.”

Esteban blinked a few times as water seemed to just appear out of no where, and soaked him wet. He had heared of such skills, and abilities which was common in some lands, but his country was dead of such things. The ancient tribes, their magic, and everything which was sacred had died to the rise of the new religion, and industrialization of his homeland. Science replaced everything which was magical. Everything was set in rules. He was one to break the monotony.
Slowly he dropped his arms to his sides, and as soon as he did, the water and wetness of his clothing seem to quickly disappear. There was no heat from anywhere to evaportate and dry him of the water, nor was there any special devices or special properties to his clothes. He placed his palm gently on the wet areas, and slowly moved them over. The water faded as if he wiped them off.
"Nope, it is okay, I can deal with water." He lifted his head, and glanced at her as soon as his clothes were dry as it was before. "So... what is this... kappa?"

Dirk walked into the room and studied everyone else. He tried a method his sargent-major had taught him as a cadet. The eyes. If the eyes are shining, then thier REMFs or never seen battle. If the eyes are dull and devoid of emotion, then they have seen some battle. The more battle they see, the more dull and emotionless thier eyes become. His were a mixture of both. It was hard to tell here, mostly everyone's eyes where bright and cheerful.
He spotted Skadi again. There was still something about her that was different, and he still couldn't put his finger on it. "Ja ne," he said in reply with a smile, and watched him leave. He stretched, and slowly went to orientation, joining up with Saria along the way.
The room was filled with apprehension as both teachers and students awaited the head master to speak. Saria was situated next to Shane, Nikita was at the podium on the stage, and Nagi was in the corner, observing from the dimly lit area. Qui led Skadi downstairs quietly. “I will attend to you after the ceremony. You should get there quickly. I will be in shortly afterwards.”
Qui bit his lip as he watched her walk away. There were two weaknesses for him in this world, cigarettes and women, and he was picky about both of them. He realized that blood was slowly dripping from his lower lip, and he placed his hand over it in suprise. It healed over. He cursed under his breath, and made his way to the grand ball room.

He just gazed at her as she spoke to him, wondering why she was telling him more than he had wanted, but really didn't know what to say to make her stop. He didn't really mind it either anyway since he had nothing else better to do. For a moment, his mind then slipped to the reason why he was in the academy, and wondered if he was placed here to socialize.
"I'm taking manavex... trying to learn something new." How he spoke was unusual as he just moved his mouth when he was talking, and nothing else but his lips, very much like a soldier... or one who does not speak to people. "Though, I would like to learn to create water from nothing."

Michael soon grew tired of listening to Qui, and decided to spend the time idly browsing the general emotions of the students, being a very weak empath, something he inherited from his father, did use often and that he didnt really consider a strength. He soon found alot of anxiety, presumably about the coming school year, and heavy angst, coming from the collection of 'soldier' students in the room. “Are you sure?”

I know…but I’m not a vampire, and I don’t see how that is possible…Given both my parents were vampires...
Who told you that? Saria asked, a bit disturbed. Nikita noticed the expression.
You know who my mother is, don’t you? Nikita replied. The telepathic connection between the two was direct. Nikita’s eyes lit up. You do know…tell me.
You were not meant to know this…
If I am the result of it, then it is very much my business. Nikita placed her hand on Saria’s temple, but she jumped back.
“Don’t try to read me Nonamura, I won’t let you get close enough to do that…” Saria walked out of the room, and outside, away from Nikita. Nikita clenched her fists. How could she withhold such information from her. She couldn’t get it from Qui, he was too strong, and he would never tell her who it was no matter how many times she asked. Jeremiah (http://www.ndr2.de/musik/images/bep_mexikaner_143.jpg) decided it was time to meet these people he'd be staying with. He went back to his room and and got the old pair of swimming trunks he had. He opened his window, but walked back downstairs and outside. The sun was setting, and the cool breeze felt good. Within a few steps forward, Skadi stoof before Qui once again, not shifting her gaze from his eyes, the eyes of one far older than herself.
"Shall we commence our discussion headmaster?"
Qui smiled at this and nodded. He started a head, looking back to Skadi so that she will follow. Instead of going upstairs, Qui went outside, past the pool, and began walking out toward the grounds near the lake.

Meanwhile, three stood in the darkness. There was an inscription on Saria's arm as both Shane and Nikita stared her down. She couldn't move, and she had nothing to levitate. "You will tell the truth to Nikita in every word she asks, understand?"
"Y-yes," Saria stammered. Nikita stepped forward, and drew in a breath.
"Qui is my father?"
"yes."
"Then who is my mother?" There was no reply, and Nikita's eyes flared. "Who is she?" she asked very calmly, one more time.
"G..Genesis Versai."
Shane's jaw dropped, and so did Nikita's. He pulled the inscription off and Saria looked down. "That's exactly why he never wanted you knowing."
Nagi looked at her watch. It was near eleven, and starting to get late. Shouldn't they get to bed soon?

It takes Skadi only a few steps to catch up with Qui as he moved passed the pool and out into the open grounds, into the cool night air, the environment of a vampire.
"I am curious Qui. Are you aware of vampiric origins within this nation?"
Skadi had rarely encountered vampires not of her breed. All those in Assington were of her kind, as were those in Tarlachia. She could tell Qui's breed was different, he had different weaknesses, some at least. It was commonly accepted that most vampires shared the common gift of strength, speed and healing, but other breeds tended to have other hidden abilities.
"You are of a breed quite different to that of the Assingtonians."
She calmly awaited his answer as the progressed through the grounds.

"Have a big freaky repertoire of stuff beyond vampires, believe me. But I, on the other hand, am relatively mild compared to what you'll find here, according to my commander." She pulled back some of her hair to show her pointed ears. "I'm merely an Elf that's found some interesting psychic powers. Telekinesis, pyrokinesis, and a new form called psychokinesis."
At this distance, the two men could see the black glyphs tatooed onto Elfira's right shoulder, and a hint of the massive amounts of dark scar tissue that the glyphs covered. The Elf unconciously covered it with her hand as she talked.

“Yes…our clan is the only of our kind, the only kind of vampire able to thrive with angelic blood in their veins. It started with Ravelyn, the most powerful and benevolent. She was an angel, sent from the heavens…a seraphim named Azrael at that. When she first woke up in this world, she was in a lab. Scientists had built her to be perfect, the perfect fighting machine. How could they guess that a soul would claim the body when it was brought into life. She escaped, but never told me how. She was still weak from her journey, and was found washed up on shore by a vampire named Daja Desuray…my father. He turned her, but her will was too strong, and she became the first hybrid, half vampire, half angel. But you see, in lust of her beauty and power, Daja had taken every advantage possible, resulting in myself being born. That’s why so many perceive me as evil, I have it in me. I just wish my mother would have been able to fight against him then.
My father and I never got along, especially because I had the blood he never could have. No matter how much he drained her, he would never become half angel. Eventually, she killed him. It was brutal too…She drained him so with the fangs he had gifted her with…”
Qui walked toward the lake, the moonlight shimmered upon the surface of the undisturbed water. “and as much as I’d like to deny my heritage it is within me. That vile is of my blood, half angelic, half vampire. My vampiric side is predominant, so you will be ok. But I want you to see the sun rise…I really do.”
“But I am the last full breed that there is. With every generation, there grows less of a connection. Genesis was the other. She was my sister, but she perished like the others. I am the only Shentavo remaining, and it scares me. The others were turned when we were born. It’s two different things. I’m the only one left to carry on the bloodline.”
He paused and looked at her, stroking the side of her cheek gently with his hand. “Come with me Skadi…” his eyes delved into hers. “I want to show you something.”
Slowly, he stepped backwards toward the lake, his hand touching hers lightly. “Close your eyes.” Soon, their feet felt wet, but they were not sinking. Qui pulled Skadi closer, his arm wrapping around her waist. Slowly, blood trickled from his back, but he told her not to open her eyes once again. His muscles tensed, and they lifted off the ground. He gently whispered for her to open her eyes. There was a pair of wings on Qui’s back, though the feathers were grey and black. The right wing was nearly gone, and looked like it had been torn at, but they were still in the air.
Saria stood up, and looked at the moon. It was a gorgeous white. She stood for a moment, then headed back to her room. It was almost midnight, and she taught telekentics the next day.

Skadi listened intently as Qui briefly described the the origins of his breed and his immeadiate family. She had never heard of such a vampiric breed and was quite interested in such effects that would have on a vampire, a creature of darkness.
Skadi could understand Qui's pain to an extent. Although there was one other pure blood Assingtonian vampire, he was lost to her. These days, the vampires of Assington were merely fledglings created by other fledglings, continuing to degrade the demonic blood within them.
She didn't stop Qui as his hands gripped her waisted, pulling her close to him. For the first time in many years, she placed her trust in a stranger, letting her physical guard down. She wasn't surprised when the pair didn't hit the water, she too had the ability of flight and assumed that many vampiric breeds did as well. As her eyes opened, Skadi's only reaction was a slight widening of the eyes, taking in the sight of Qui's wings. She had never seen such a sight, she hadn't even encountered an angel before, let alone an angelic one.
She was silent for a few seconds as she held onto Qui, looking back into his eyes.
"You are an interesting character indeed Qui Shentavo, very interesting."
Skadi felt the trickling blood flow over her hands, realising that is must have been painful for Qui to show her such. She figured Qui would not display his wings for anyone, this she appreciated more than anything, he had placed at least some amount of trust in her.
"It has been a very long time since I've ever witnessed a sunrise, I would enjoy sharing it with you."

Kurai was a bit upset at the question, but Jeremiah made her smile. She had never given it into consideration, and would never attempt it. Whether she could or not would go unanswered. “No, I can’t. I’m not that much of a violent person if you hadn’t assumed that already. While it is powerful, I really have no use for it other than in training, you know?” She smiled.

There seemed to be a change in the air, as if the earth had felt the act. It wasn’t good or bad, it just was. Qui had already lost a lot of blood, but he could handle it. Slowly, they descended back down to the earth. In some sense, it felt as if they were still flying. He set her down gently next to a tree.
The next time Skadi opened her eyes, his wings were gone, and the wounds on his back where healing quickly. He drew away from her for a moment. He removed his shirt, for it was rather torn up in the back. He knelt by the lake, and washed the blood from his back.
He picked up his long leather jacked from the ground, and put it on. He turned back to Skadi, and sat down next to her, his back resting against the tree. He placed one arm around her, letting her head rest upon his chest. They looked out eastward over the lake, to where the sun would rise in the hours to come.

'Fair enough.' She replied wryly, pulling herself out of the water.
She walked over to a tiny bag, and pulled out a piece of flint and a piece of steel, rigged with a simple device to click together when a string was pulled. She created a tiny shower of sparks, and let a couple fall on her hand. They seemed to reproduce in her hand, and soon she had a tiny pyramid of sparks. She calmly held her hand over her head and tipped them over her. When the light show had faded, every trace of water had disappeared from her.
She grinned and let loose a small spurt of flame before the last spark died. "Speed drying."

Esteban gave another slight nod to Kurai as he slowly slipped away from her, and into an empty seat in one of the rows. He chose a seat with no one sitting close it, and one close to the back so he would not disturb those that was sitting behind him. He wasn't exactly trying not to be rude. He was just trying to not attract attention to himself since the place was filled with strangers, and people. Though he saw that most of them were some sort of the soldier stock from their repsective countries, he did not know how to communicate properly with them. He was indeed part perfectionist, always aiming to be the best in ever manner, which also was a deciding factor to send him to the academy. To learn new skills, and be the best in it.
As the orientation was coming to its end, Esteban decided to leave early so he wouldn't be placed in situation that he would actually speak to anyone, perhaps except for Kurai. Besides the fact that she seemed friendly, he also wanted to learn how to make water. The others seemed rather unusual to him, and very unusual in his cultural prospective since his country seemed to aim at being like a machine. These people were free willed, and different... unpredictable. It was going to take time to get used to this...

Skadi didn't struggle as Qui bent down and pressed his lips against hers. This surprised her more than anyone, since she was very particular about those she let close to her since her birth into the darkness.
The female vampire watched closely as Qui removed his shirt and cleaned himself. There was something about his she didn't understand. He was far older than her and of a very different breed, yet something within his personality seemed to puzzle her. For the moment she would let it slip as she sat down next the young looking man.
As she leaned in against Qui, Skadi moved an arm around his waste, holding him almost as much as he was holding her. Skadi had never assumed a role of being the weaker part of any sort of relationship, and she wasn't about to start.
"You are a marvel indeed Qui. I too have a story of vampiric origin, if you would like to hear it?"

Skadi smiled again as Qui made fun of her insistence. It was hard to believe she had encountered one such as Qui, another vampire that she actually connected with. Ever since the death of Maximus, she had withdrawn into the cold shell of her early vampiric years.
"That's right, now pay attention like a good boy."
Skadi gently stroked Qui's stomach as her story began.
"I was a young girl of 20 years when it happened. I lived in a village at the base of the Wizard's Council Keep. I am not sure of the official date, but it was somewhere within the first 500 years of Assington. The year of my 20th, strange noises and lights had started to flow forth from the western tower of the keep, the tower of a mage named Daveon.
None of us gave it a second glance as these were common around mages. A few days after the last strange occurences, several elves had been discovered near the edges of the forest, torn apart. These murders continued for several months, slowly dwindling the elven population in the area. Not even the other mages of the keep could work out who was doing this, and so the murders continued.
One evening, this strange figure came out of the forest. He appeared to be part human, yet he possessed demonic eyes, talons and other such unhuman properties. He effortlessly began slaughtering the townsfolk, first the men. Before I could escape, I was bowled over by the flying corpse of my best friend. The creature continued to attack the village, but our men put up a fight with their blades. As I rose from underneath the corpse, I spun around to recieve a mouthful of the creature's foul blood, much of which I swallowed.
Before he could destroy the entire village, the mages came and scared him away. Those that survived all went into their homes and attempted to rest before the repairs tomorrow. Myself and a few others were struck down by fevers and sickness of the stomach. Within two days, the sunlight burned us, we felt stronger than ever and the hunger plagued our minds. Concluding that we had become the spawn of such an evil creature, with the bloodlust and all, a group of us abandoned the village and went north..."
Skadi paused as the sun began to rise. Remembering her first conversation with Qui, she quickly slipped her hand into a pocket and withdrew the vile, drinking the substance within quickly.

Since Kurai was in a good mood, and it was the first day of the academy, she decided to work on the sunset a bit. She stood a ways away from the pool, looking up toward the sky. The light lashed out over the water as the sky was stained with brilliant reds, oranges and purple, as if an artist had taken extra time on every detai. The brilliant color lit up the entire sky.

"Well then, good luck, Joshua." She gave him a last smile and turned back around to find the first tendrils of the sunrise slinking through the sky. She smirked, realizing she'd lost all sense of time while she was with him. "I should probably get some form of rest."
She walked off, humming happily to herself. Back in her room, she sat cross-legged on the floor and closed her eyes. After a couple seconds, she levitated a couple inches off the floor, which was a simple task for her, but still held a bit of thrill. After several minutes of blackness, she finally managed to clear her mind and slipped into a universe of pure energy. Chimaera was her name for the place, as it did and did not exist at the same time. Here she could lose herself in more ways than one, for there was no up, no down, no back and forth, no space, no time. In some ways, the perfect place. All of those that existed, undead or living, had residual energy that leaked into Chimaera. From there, she could manipulate it. Make a person feel ecstatic, or stop their heart from a hundred meters away. The fabled realm of psychokinesis.
Somebody came walking through Chimaera, and it wasn't someone's energy. That same little boy with the blue clothes. He wore a blue baseball cap that somehow always cloaked his face in shadow, and glowering eyes of pure sapphire.
'Get out of my prison, my dismal cell. I don't want visitors.' He said in a deceptively innocent voice.
'For the trillionth time, what are you talking about? I found this place, there shouldn't even be another here.' She responded angrily.
'Get out of my prison, my dismal cell. I don't want visitors.' He repeated. 'Get out!'
With a ferocious shove Elfira shouldn't have felt but did anyway, the little boy pushed the Elf out of Chimaera, out of his prison, and out of his dismal cell. Elfira toppled to the floor from her elevated position, and stared up at the ceiling with an annoyed groan.
"I just wonder if he can use Chimaera like I can...but he just says the same thing." She confided in the ceiling. "Stupid kid."

Joshua jogged quickly up to his room. Once inside he took off his shoes and walked over to his bed and slowly released the clasps. He opened the case and inside were two swords of beauty from a time long past. He pulled the first one out and looked over the blade, at each symbol. Slowly sliding his hand over each symbol feeling them muttering in a diffrent tongue. He slowly places the blade back in the rests it sat. He quietly close the case once more and plaed it on the floor slightly under his bed. He took off his shirt and his pendent and place them o nthe table near his bed and lay down on it. Even a few minutes of sleep could mean a whole lot to him.
Daniel Able sighed as he put his gear down on the corner of his bed. He looked around at the shambled room, and grimaced.
It was not that he was unused to... harsh environments, but it was that...
He just didn't want to be at the Shentavo Academy.
With a quick shrug of his shoulders, Able threw off his trenchcoat and grabbed his Upir.
Most of the students would still be in bed as the morning dawn had just broken. A perfect time to go for a jog.

He was feeling a little better, and was even looking forward to his first class.
"Hello, Agent. I see you're settling in quite well."
Able stopped and swung his sword around, in a guard stance.
He had ample reason to be on guard. He recognized that voice.
"What the hell are you doing here, Alexander Kelsing. Doesn't the Hyraphore need you around anymore?" spat out Able.
"Now, now, Daniel. Such venom is unbecoming for an agent of the DEO...
and for a vampire."
Able blinked, and the glowered at Alexander.
"What do you want, Kelsing?"
"Nothing... not yet anyways. I am just here to warn you... there will conflict on the near future between the Hyraphore and the Assington Vampires. I may call on you to... fight for your brothers."
Able walked up to Alexander, Upir taut in his right hand.
"What sort of violence? What does this have to do with me?"
"Again, nothing... yet at least. I am just here to warn you of events that you will need to be aware of."
Able and Alexander stared at each other. Slowly, Able re-sheatherd his sword.
"Now then, Daniel. Walk with me. I would like to hear of your studies here."
Able nodded, and together, the elder and the agent walked off in no particular direction.
"Well, I just arrived yesterday, and..."
"WAIT."
"What?"
...
...
...
"...we had become the spawn of such an evil creature, with the bloodlust and all, a group of us abandoned the village and went north..."
Alexander stopped, and looked off to his right. He smiled.
"I recognize that voice," said Alexander." Come, you may yet learn more about the conflict yet."
Together, Alexander and Able headed towards the voice.

He rumaged through some personal items before he found his Mini-Disk player. He selected one marked Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band. He like to play Seger on his jogs, his music offered a constant beat that was easy to move to. He put the headsets on and the song Shame on the Moon came softly into his ears.

After a while he jogged over a small crest he saw Qui and Skadi, but he didn't see the wolf. He turned and jogged in the opposite direction. He could tell they wanted to be left alone to enjoy the sunrise. So he decided to leave them to themselves.

Despite her failure at meditation, Elfira still had gotten in the equivalent of three or four hours of sleep, and that would have to do. She decided in favor of keeping her current clothes – tight jeans and a black t-shirt – on, rather than changing for what would have been the fourth time in a twelve hour period. Otherwise it just seemed a little ridiculous. After checking the time and spending a little time adjusting her biological clock, she figured it wouldn't hurt to train some. She grabbed two long curved knives with golden hilts and exited her room.
Twenty minutes of wandering later, she was out in a clearing with a veritable shield of steel spinning around her. Every couple of seconds, she'd lash out with one of the knives and hit the tree she was focusing on, taking off another chunk in a shower of splinters. Such a task was simple, but what she was attempting to maintain was a calm, detached mind while still keeping up a ferocious defense and offensive pattern.
'Knife one out, two in front, one back to front, switch two to back, two out from left, one to side, spin, one around and out from back, slide back, two back to front, one back to front, switch two to back, two out from left, one out from right, slide right, one back to left, two back to right, one to right, two to left...'
Her complex patterns had almost become automatic until she saw something move low in the shadows out of the corner of her eye. A rustle of movement and a flash of bluish-green. The two knives returned to nestle in the back of her jeans, and she glared at her surroundings. Everything was still.
Her momentarily fragile concentration shattered, she spoke out. "Who's there?"

Nepel woke up, just had the weridest dream he ever had. He looked around the room, and then getting up. He took a shower and changed. He wore his black hood again, not sure why hes taking it with him. He stopped what he was doing for a second, for he felt a strong magical disturbance. Hmmm..this energy feels familiar for some reason, but I can't make it who thou.
He tries to ignore the disturbance and goes downstairs. He goes outside towards the Starbucks for some coffee. On the way, he feels the disturbance stronger, he looks towards the woods. He swares theres something in those woods. He prepares his flame scimatar in case of attack.
He finally arrives at the Starbucks unharmed, he gets some coffee, sitting at a table, looking out the window towards the woods. He still feels the distrubance, but its starting to fade a bit.

James slowly opened his eyes. He stared at the ceiling for a few minutes before getting out of bed. He took a shower and rumaged through the clothes he had bought the day before. He picked out a pair of baggy black jeans and a fishnet shirt. After instinctively putting on a harness with holsters for several weapons, he threw on one of the overshirts he had picked up at the store to top off the little outfit. He stretched, groaning as his muscles loosened up.
"Damn, sleeping peacefully will take a bit of getting used to." He hadn't even dreamt last night, a rarity for someone as deadset on revenge as he. He pulled a dagger out of his pack and whirled it in his palm before putting it firmly in a sheath on his harness.
He opened his door and proceeded downstairs.

Skadi lay in silent awe at witnessing the site of a sunrise of the academy grounds. It had been hundreds of years since she had seen a sunrise, let alone one this magnificent. She had never dreamed she would say a sunset again, and so the sight was indeed a special occurence to her, as was the company.
After a few minutes of silence, Skadi decided to get back to her story.
"Three of us decided to travel north, as did the elves. Myself, Idun and Uller. There were two others as well, Svartel and Zardon, but they pursued a different path."
Skadi sat upright as her senses prickled. Something was nearby, something she was quite familiar with. She had just picked up the fading of voices and the stench of her kind, vampire. It wasn't Qui, his scent was distinct, this one was not part of the academy attendants. Within seconds, Skadi pushed her consciousness forth in an attempt to discover who was nearby.
"Did you sense that?"
Skadi only communicated those four words mentally as she diverted her whole attention to discovery of who was nearby.

A sweaty Dirk walked back into his room. He took off his clothes and took a shower; five minutes cold, five minutes hot. After that he put on some fatigues and put his red bera on. As he opened the door there was a package there that wasn't there before. He brought it inside and with is Swiss Army Knife, opened it. Two newspapers fell out; The Clarence Post and The Paratrooper Post. The daily civilian newspaper, and the daily military newspaper, but from whom? Dirk pulled a small not out of the box.
Dear Big Brother,
I hope this finds you well. I'm going to make every effort to get you the newspapers from home and Kriegspiel. That Col. Rhodes has been a great help. I hope you're enjoying yourself and doing new things.
Ellie
Dirk smiled. His little sister, younger by one year, always tried her best to get papers and magizines to him when he was overseas. She understood how much it would boost his morale; plus, everyone in his platoon's. The newspapers where yesterday's, he didn't know how they got here so fast, but they where here. That's what mattered. He took the papers and walked downstairs. He got himself a breakfast of biscuits and gravy, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, and coffee. He walked outside and took a table next to the outdoor pool. Time to enjoy a good breakfast and the paper.

Qui shifted. "Yea, i did hear that." he looked back. "Whoever it was is gone now. Their far enough off now to be no concern. I don't think they got close enough. They'd have to cross the lake, you know, to get over here."
Qui stood up and stretched. His toned muscles were easily seen through the open jacket. As the sun rose, it was getting rather hot out. He took it off, and looked at Skadi, still intent on the intruder. He shook his head with a smile.
He took a start toward Skadi, and wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her away from the direction of the intruder. He laughed. "Loosen up...there is no one here now." He realized her with an effortless grin. He took off his shoes and socks, and looked at Skadi. With a smile, he dove backwards into the lake. The water was cool and clear. The sunset was reflected in the surface of the water.
His eyes saught out Skadi and he grinned. "Come on..."
"Come on..."
Alexander grinned silently to himself as he saw the confused look on Skadi's face as Qui dove into the water.
"Now Daniel, do you know who that lovely lady is?"
Able looked past the edge of their hiding spot towards Skadi.
"No... but I can sense that she is a vampire."
"Correct. An Assington vampire, to be exact. Come, let me introduce you to her."
With a malicious intent, Alexander stepped out into the daylight, Able following close behind.
"Hello, Skadi! A beautiful sunrise isn't it? Too bad dear Maximus isn't here to enjoy it as well.
"Then again, I wonder what he would say if he saw you here with another man, hmm?"

(ooc: Their on the other side of the lake. There is a one mile distance.)
At that, the wolf viciously attacked Alexander's leg, shredding through the cloth. The wolf was unusually strong, and its misted eyes set on his. The wolf was unusually big as well, and it seemed that its claws were doing as much damage as its teeth.
Qui chuckled at the attack, and saw his blood seeping to the ground as the wolf continued to attack him. He looked toward them, and laughed. He didn't like being interrupted one bit. He climbed back onto the bank, and looked at Skadi.
"I take it you know them? Should I call of McCloud now or later?" He smiled.

Dirk was walking towards the lake for more privacy to finish the paper when he saw the wolf attack Alexander. He dropped his paper and watched as Qui did nothing. What?! He ran as hard as he could around the shortest side of the lake, though wearing combat boots, Dirk ran with remarkabe speed. Within four minutes Dirk held a grenade sized stone in his right hand about a grenade's throw from the wolf, in his left hand was his pocket knife. He was surprised it still held Alexander. Dirk hurled the stone. It struck the wolf in the middle of the back.

Nepel finishes his coffee and walks outside. On the way thou he feels another distrubance, but eleven kind. He dares not to disturb elves, since they dislike drows, so he moves along quietly.
He finally reaches were he sees the lake. He sees a wolf eating someone, so he hides in a bush and watches. He sees someone holding a stone and throwing it at the wolf. He can feel the disturbance very strongly now.
Damn where do I remember this aura, I remember it somehow, but who or what is it?

Elfira heard a loud scuffled a moderate distance off, and she figured it might have something to do with that thing she spotted earlier. Or she was just hallucinating again. She stepped out of the brush to find a massive wolf rending some poor guy to pieces. Rather than help the man, she casually shifted her weight to one foot and crossed her arms, slate eyes burning with intensity. She clearly was not frightened into petrification, so pure curiosity diverted her attention from action. A hint of a wry smile played on her lips as a rock thudded onto the wolf's back and the struggle went on.

Pepel senses the Elven aura again. He turns his head around and sees an elf about 8 feet away from him. He turns his head back to the struggle ahead. he still is trying to figure out whos creating that magicial disturbance, He knew it wasn't Qui way ahead, because Qui looked like he was doing nothing at all with the situation.
