The Federated Klatchian Coast ministry of the environment has decided to boost the FKCs tourist numbers by means of a safari competition. Klatchia is famous for its strange and impressive wildlife, and big game shooting/watching already makes up a large part of tourist numbers.

OOC rules.
All wildlife to be ran by FKC nations, no declaring that some horrendously rare animal just happens to be in front of your hunter.

Agloolik Jumilook sat on his carved wooden chair that he made himself and smiled. Before him were various stone and wood carvings at different stages of completion along with the usual assortment of tools. One far wall was adorned with ice wolf pelts while another had the hide of a typical polar bear. However, the hide was coloured and inscribed with various hunting scenes, so that it resembled a painting – and a very good one, in Aglookik’s estimation.I wonder how much this will fetch me down south?

Outside, children’s laughter filtered through and Agloolik looked up as he heard the whine of a snowmobile. He didn’t get many visitors and the few he did get he could discern by the distinctive sound of their snowmobile or whatever other carriage they used. The engine cut out and he then heard the heavy footfalls approach his door, crunching the snow beneath. The door was flung open, and a tall figure strode in.

-Hah! Agloolik! Caught you here, eh? Thought you would be in town stocking up.
-Hah! Keelut! Why you say that, huh?
-You haven’t heard? Ah, those crazy southerners are holding some kind of hunt. Letting in foreigners.

Keelut sat down and doffed his parka. Then he took out his pipe and lit. Agloolik rummaged around for his and his visitor offered his friend some tobacco. Agloolik took some, offering thanks.

-Ah, you must be looking forward to it, Keelut.
-Bah! The last group wanted to go for a mammoth! Idiots! I told them that they didn’t have big enough guns but no….

Keelut made a motion with his hands to demonstrate.

-Ah well, Keelut. At least you got out alive. And you did keep your money. It’s not like the Vrakians would bother sending out some judge.
-Actually, they did. Can you believe it? Way out here!

“Here” was of course the far northern reaches. While officially noted on the maps as “unclaimed”, there were quite a few settlements that dotted the northern shore of the North Sea that Vrak maintained defacto control over. But the natives, which really are the descendents of the original Vrakian stock, were left alone by their southern cousins.

-They did?
-Yah! But, hey, when I told the judge what happened, well, he laughed. “Serves them foreigners right” he said. I agreed with him.

Keelut leaned forward. Even with his parka off he was a big man, his dark hair running down his back like some black wave.

-So, are we going to go be guides this season, eh Agloolik?
-Ah! I have my carvings. You know, that’s what I like.
-Well, let’s talk about it some more. I figure we...

Keelut took a deep puff on his pipe, which usually indicated that he was prepared to settle in for a while. The smoke curled up and the children’s laughter echoed in the house and reverberated throughout the icy expanse.

After a long while, Keelut rose from his chair.

-Careful, Keelut. You've had a bit too much beer.
-Hah! I'm okay!

He turned and then bumped his head on the door.
