To returning students and new comers,
The Shentavo Academy will be continuing in its forth year this August. Classes as well as instructors have changed, so make sure you read through everything before you consider your classes. If you are receiving this letter, then your excellence has been brought to my attention. We only accept those with promising abilities as well as determination. I will tell you right now, that this isn’t going to be easy. You will have to work at this school, and not for grades. They do not exist here. You have to work to reach the maximum level you can achieve within the nine months you will be attending. Let me walk you through this.

1. Classes
a) Telekenetics
Instructor: Saria Veruki

Requirements: High concentration and will, as well as an advanced mind.
Details: Manipulation of objects through the mind; shaping and using matter by will only.

b) Advanced Combat
Instructor: Nagi Oraki

Requirements: Strong endurance and determination as well a degree of strength and agility.
Details: Advanced Combat, or AVC, deals with hand to hand fighting including jujitsu, ninjitsu, and shaolin kempo. Weapons used also include quarter staff, sword, gun, kubaton w/ chain, as well as specialty weapons.

c) Acrobatics (AVC Course)
Instructor: Nikita Nonamura

Requirements: Must be agile as well as strong.
Details: Will focus on the combat aspects of acrobatics.

d) Lore and Language
Instructor: Shane McCloud

Requirements: Must be able to read and comprehend information quickly.
Details: The history of the races, languages, arts, and people. Languages vary from person to person. Incantations are optional.

e) Manavex and Manipulations
Instructor: Qui Shentavo (H.M.)

Requirements: Highest concentration as well as mental capability.
Details: This class is deemed to be the hardest class available at the academy. Students must have a strong will and mind. Do NOT participate in this class if you don’t possess both of these qualities.

Classes run on a weekly basis. You will only have one class a day, but that class will be eight hours long. During this time there will be an hour lunch break. Materials are provided on the day of arrival.

2. Campus:

The grounds are approximately 780 acres of land. Serrian lake is on the east side of the campus with clear water and moderate temperature. There is a circular running track, as well as a stable.

There are two pools on campus. Yes, there was rumored to be a third one on the fifth floor, but there is no sixth floor. There is one indoor and one out door pool, each temperature regulated.

Dorms include a bed, dresser, shower, refrigerator, bookshelves, computer, and phone. All student dorms are located on the second floor.
d) Levels:
1st floor includes restaurants, swimming pool, work out center, and evening lounge.
2nd floor includes all student dorms.
3rd floor includes all classes as well as library and study hall.
4th floor includes all staff rooms and accommodations and is off limits to students past 10 o’ clock.
3. Staff:

4. Rules and Regulations:
1. No drinking on campus with the exception of special occasions.
2. No smoking in the building including the dorm rooms.
3. Students can not enter the forth floor after ten o’ clock.
4. Students can not attend classes they did not sign up for.
5. Any conflicts between students will be dealt with by the headmaster.
6. Students must be in their dorm rooms by twelve if they have a class the next day.
7. Students using Manavex can only use it when supervised by the instructor, and these students can not practice Manavex on other students outside the class room.

Orientation will begin the day following your arrival. Here you will meet the teachers and staff. There will be a formal dinner that night, as well as a presentation of what is to come. Questions should be addressed to the headmaster. Tuition fee of $40,000. Scholarships are available though limited.

History or notes: Michael Willis comes from a small town in Iuthian where he grew up in a well displined love filled environment. He grew up and then attended Iuthia's military service for a year before going professional for another 2 years, after which he was asked to attend the Shentavo Academy to learn about magic for the state.

His time in the first year was concidered a mild failure, while Michael acheived well in his non-magical classes Michael couldn't get his head around magic even to this day. Now he's being sent back for further training and to hopefully have another go. Mentally he hasn't got anything stopping him from learning magic, he is determined and strong willed to acheive a task, he just has little imagination and he seems mildly resistant to magic.

Antoinette recieved the transmission verifying her acceptance to the Shentavo Academy early in the morning, only a few hours after her application had been sent. As she read the message, her mouth widened into an uncontroled grin. She sprung from her chair and gleefully skipped around the room like a little girl. After several minutes of this undignified behavior, she sat down infront of her computer, breathless, and began to write a letter to her mistress, informing her of the good news.

Strengths (2): Superhuman strength. Rapid regeneration.
History or notes: Esteban appears to be around his late teens (18), and appears to be in perfect health. He has tested well in physical courses provided by the military, and has broken most of their records in tests of strength, speed, and endurance. He has also been trained in basic combat skills, but require no further training in such matters. He seems to be albino at first glance, but it seems that he lacks the ability to produce melanin, though at times it was noted that his skin seem to develop a green pigment. Most of his body is noted to be pale or a variety of white. He is also noted to eat little food but is required to have water at all times. His tuition is paid for and directly by the military of Steel Magnolia, and all future fees will also be paid for. The military requires a full detailed account of his progression in the academy. From the list of his classes, he has been placed in the academy for mental training. Any questions shall be answer by an official.

Strengths (2): Capable of gathering enormous amounts of mana, (or magical energy). Outstanding channeler of such energy, capable of shaping it at her will. Even capable of casting spells while asleep.

Weaknesses (because everyone needs weaknesses): Lacks control in releasing the magical energy in the ways she desires. The results of her spells are usually spectacular by miscasts. Also she has a dreaming personality that usually distracts her and makes her lose her scarce concentration.

History or notes: Daedalis was a rejected kid by her parents, who prefered her older sister, Vorpalis, over her after she got expelled of the sorcerer academy due to her constant and destructive miscasts. Sent to a "Institution for Troubled Kids" for her entire chilhood, she grew as an unstable and dreaming girl, totally separated from the outside world, alienated and frustated by her own impotence of controlling her magic talent, feared, distrusted and despised by her peers. When her parents died, her sister took charge of her, and sent her to the Shentavo academy. After taking the first weeks of class last year, she started to control her magic due to the help of her former mentor Quin, but then she dissapeared due to a call of her older sister, now recognized as the most fabled sorcerer assasin in the entire sindarin empire. After a year of continued teachings by her sister, Daedalis was able to control a part of her talent through the management of the images of her former dreams. Suddenly after several months of guidance, her sister redirected again to the Shentavo Academy to finish her training and turning into her sucessor.

History: His parent killed by Lloth supporters suring his childhood and lived with his uncle general for a while. He trained with his uncle in his drow powers and recieved his Great Grandfathers Fire Scimatar. He was to enter the Drizzts Academy last year, but it was full so he went to the Shentavo Academy last year, and he so happens wants to see if he can get back in this year.

Well, I still use my small text OOC on others more or less because it drives certain people crazy... but I got the message last time and quite frankly I got out of line.

However, this time I will make a point of stay IC unless someone demands an explaination... given my characters background I doubt that will be an issue seeing as he only has one possible oddity, which is more of a hinderance then a "power".

But they would be loaded of course. I was playing around with the idea of my character arriving straight from an exersice and did not have time to leave his weapons at base so he just drags them along and leaves them in his HUMVEE

Phalanix, even though my character is after Dom's head, he'll still remember to backhand Joshua. Just for old time's sake. Heh.

I have to admit, guns and weapons were something that kind of got on my nerves last time, when characters were actually playing with their guns under the table on the first day.

It's my understanding that this is a teaching institute and as such I can understand the rules set up, such as not allowing my character the chance to drink or take drugs (which is expected really) but when it comes to guns I'd expect that if they are allowed it would be wise to have them handed to the advanced weapons people in the academy... weapons have their place and this is a school no matter how you look at it.

Talking of cookies... I need to know if recreational drugs are legal in Rave Shentavo and to what extent. Iuthia has completely a freedom from drug laws and it's not frowned upon to use mild drugs in Michael's culture.

I fully understand that drinking and smoking is banned in the academy, but I'm not talking about the academy. Michael has 5 days without lessons.

Cookies go back a bit with me and rave. I had a little thing going where if someone could find the definition of 'gekidoku', they would get a cookie. Rave didn't get the answer, but I gave her a cookie anyways. That was a very long time ago, and ever since, I have given cookies on many occasions.
