The Yamsterdam Tournament Signup

After the success of the Nationstates Interregional League, we at the Maserratian Football Association have come up with a new tournament based strictly on the Amsterdam Tournament. After months of negotiations it was finally decided that this tournament would be (rather originally) called the Yamsterdam Tournament. For those who are not aquainted with this tournament, here are the basic guidelines:

1) Four teams play in the tournament, and play each other once, resulting in three games for each team.
2) Points are scored as usual depending on results - three points for a win, one for a draw and zero for a defeat.
3) On top of this points are also scored for every goal a team scores. For example, a 3-2 victory would be worth six points, three for a win and three for the three goals scored.

This means that sometimes a loss can mean gaining more points than a win, making this tournament totally unpredictable and very exciting.

The difference between the real-life tournament and the Yamsterdam Tournament are as follows.

Instead of one group of four, there are four groups of four. The two top teams from each group go to the second round, where there will be two groups of four. The top two in each of these groups would go on to a final group of four, where the top team would win the tournament.

Now, as it is the first tournament, it will be hosted in Maserrat. Eight of Maserrat's stadiums will be employed, and these are detailed below:

1) The Commodore Bowl: national stadium, capacity 72,000
2) Bavahian Den: home of Maserratian champions Rakasta Trespor, capacity 68,000
3) The Old Vasklawia: stadium of Vasklawia SV, capacity 62,000
4) Langerhan Lane: stadium of Trone Poskit, capacity 59,000
5) Gresko Football Stadium: stadium of Sumne Sumni, capacity 60,000
6) Husov Damasol: stadium of Husov Hamam, capacity 57,000
7) Polianivskus: stadium of Ramakab Ytra, capacity 53,000
8) Chil County Stadium: stadium of New Spius Lostiv, capacity 64,000

Now, as these stadums are spread out all over the island of Maserrat, from the regions of Old Bavahia to Tyrod, transport for all teams to all stadiums wil be provided at all times, thanks to the excellent public transport system that Maserrat can boast. All teams taking part will spend the duration of the tournament staying in the Yamsterdam Village, situated in Maserrat's capital city Rakasta. In the village one can find bars, restaurants, entertainment facilities and public toilets, as well as a hotel made specially for each participating team (five star and full board, of course). We can assure that nobody in the village will be dissatisfied with the service, one hundred percent guarantee.

So if all of this has persuaded you to take part, or if you've already taken part in the NIL and fancy another shot at a Maserrat tournament, then just sign up here. All you need to do is say you want in and tell me the name of your team as well as your style of play (attacking, balanced or defensive) and you're all set. It is also advised to post your 21-man team roster. If you have any queries, just post and you'll get a fast response. That's it! That's all you need to know. I await some responses with eagerness.

I'll need to know your style of play then (defensive attacking or balanced). If it's the same as for the U21 Tournament, I could just look it up.
Liverpool England

We're using All Out Attack for the u21, and we'd like to do the same here if possible. If not, give me the most attacking formation.

As you wish, Liverpool England. As you can see I finally figured out the vb code, so you will find entered teams in the initial post. Now, I couldn't very well leave my team out, considering how close we came to NIL victory. My team will mostly be made up of Rakasta Trespor players, but I think I'll put some token Vasklawian and Tyrodian players in, to give us that extra bite we need to succeed.

Goalkeepers
1. Tadeusz Gorkin (Rakasta Trespor)
13. Mikhael Luzhin (Vasklawia SV)
21. Jerzy Rauwe (Trone Poskit)

2. Karson Proboskin (Rakasta Trespor)
3. Dostin Saakashvili (Rakasta Trespor)
4. Ute Donaslav (Khayise Lostiv)

15. Gorkiy Gresko (Vasklawia SV)

Success? If the Slanis won't even sign up, can't be doing that well then, heck the Slanis even consider the Reality Soccer Deathmatch > Slansterdam

Slanitopia will NOT be signing up for the Slansterdam Tournament.

The NIL was rather a success - I got my sixteen applicants in two days. I'm not quite sure why nobody's interested this time.

What's the point of posting to say you're not going to enter? If you don't post that's what I assume anyway, so...

Of course you can, but I'll need to know your style of play (Defensive, Balanced or Attacking). Once I know this you'll be added to the list at the top of the thread.

The NIL was far from a success. The success of a tournament can be measured by:

1) Level of Participation by those signed up
2) Rate of signup for the next tournament

While there was sporatic participation in the NIL, there were only 1 or two different nations who Participated frequently, and i think there were just as many "I'll get around to RPing later" posts as there were actual RP's

And As proven by people taking the time to post, but distinctly NOT sign up, like me, you are far lacking currently in the 2nd category, as the signup count currently stands at 3. Including yourself.

To confirm, I do not wish to sign up either.

Just got back from Worcester (pronounced wooster, for those who didn't know), so your messages are only just being read.

Do you people really have nothing better to do than slag me off (is that a proper term in the USA?)? I'm just trying to make a living here! Maybe I should just open a new thread called 'Post your comments about the imbecility of Maserrat here' - I might just be able to be left in peace then!

As Liverpool England has dropped out, we're now back down to four teams, so I have decided that we'll just have one group of four, and then each team will play each other four times, so that all the stadiums can be used. The four teams are:

Dinamo Maserrat
Tothampton FC
Porto Calus
West Pacific Nationals

For Tothampton and West Pacific, welcome back, to Porto Calus, have fun, and for me, do better this time. The first fixtures are:

Dinamo Maserrat vs. Tothampton FC
Porto Calus vs. West Pacific Nationals

To be played at the Commodore Bowl and Bavahian Den respectively. These matches will be played tomorrow. I will start a new thread with an appropriately obvious title. Those of you who want to stay here and make fun of me some more can do so.
