Larogera

Larogera's government is called a 'Final-Parlimentary'. It is basically a 'democracy' with a few rules. We break down into different elections: an election for cabinet members & an election for priminister/deputyofintelligence (they share the same votes). There are 4 parties, and they choose their candidates in a seperate election held in every region on one day (instead of the confusing 'caucus' and 'primary' ideas). They hold big parades/ conventions to announce the winner, and they go on to fight for the election. Voters have up to a deadline (which is usually after 20-50 days) to vote.
'Volta' in English means 'Voting for Nobody', meaning that to solve issues, or conflict, voters must rush out and vote ya or na.
Currently, we are in the process of a cabinet election and a general priminister election, but Larogeran's chose a 'temporary' government, in which would be ruled by about 12 people: the Leadership Council (LC), the Foreign-Affairs Committee (F-AC), and Gordon A. Fischer (who plays the role as the priminister, but most recently Deputy of Intelligence, he is retiring).
'Democracy' isn't the word to use. In our country, only the people decide what happens.
Basically, here is our government currently:
Leader, Deputy of Intelligence- Gordon A. Fischer
Leadership Council (a new group of 4 every week) and Gordon A. Fischer
Foreign Affairs Comm. (a new group of 5 every week) and Michael LuCerne
And our government as of 2004-09-26:
Leader, Priminister- Either Michelle Laci, Thomas Muskey or George Herman
Deputy of Intelligence- ???
Cabinet Party- (a party is elected, they pick the people for the cabinet, administration).
Basically, that is a 'detailed' description of our government's structure.
The emperor
Absolute ruler of the nation. Elected for lifetime by previous emperor, commonly emperor's son. If previous emperor didn't have testament, closest relative will be selected.
Advisors(military,science,foreign,internal)
Make emperor's decisions come true and propose new ideas.
Elected by emperor for lifetime.
Capital council(20 people selected through public elections, for 5 years)
Handles general public issues and other internal issues such as city planning, as ordered by emperor.
We are a parliamentary democracy similar to that in Britain and Canada except that we have proportional representation.

The Royal Government of Aerion that His Majesty King Wasterin X seems to be forming.
Head of State: His Majesty King Wasterin X
The Privy Council: The council, appointed by the King, to serve as the royal "cabinet". Consists of the nine Great Officers of State, the Ministers, and the various other appointees of the King.
Nine Great Officers of State (In order of precedent)
Lord High Steward - Leader of the His Majesty's Government
Lord High Chancellor - Equivalent to "Minister of State" in other nations.
Lord High Treasurer - Head of all government finances, and financial areas.
Lord President of the Council - Presides over Privy Council meetings.
Lord Privy Seal - A titular position, truly given to favored of King
Lord Great Chamberlain - "Master of Ceremonies", and over all the palaces' staff.
Lord High Justice - "Supreme Judge" of Aerion (Supreme Court in one person)
Lord High Marshal - Head of His Majesty's Armed Forces (Specifically Army)
Lord High Admiral - Head of His Majesty's Royal Navy
Lord High Air Marshal - Head of His Majesty's Royal Air Force
The Ministries each headed by a Minister
Ministry of Justice
Ministry of the Interior
Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Ministry of Defence
Ministry of Health and Social Affairs
Ministry of the Treasury
Ministry of Education -
Ministry of Commerce
Ministry of Education
Ministry of Transportation
Ministry of Energy
Ministry of Defence, the Minister is a deputy assistant to the Lord High Marshal.
Ministry of Public Awareness(Propaganda Ministry)
Royal Governors (King appointed) over each province. (Their immediate superior is the Lord High Steward)
NOTE: Often times the role of one of His Majesty's Ministers, and a Great Officer of State will be in the same. But in these cases, the Officer of State takes precedent, and is usually the immediate superior of the Minister. The Minister therefore serves as a sort of Deputy and co-head to the Great Officer of State running the day to day affairs of the Ministry.
The Royal National Security Agency (RNSA) - Supposed to "not-exist", but most in the media and news know that the King has secretly put this agency into place, but not much else. Their supposed headquarters have been placed in an strange old castle deep in the Aerion mountains, under Astevane (the capital), or even within the Central (Royal) Palace itself. Conspiracy theorist are alledging that the King has appointed some of the secret police of old regimes to fill the ranks of the RNSA to make it more "efficient", though most do not give any credibility to these wild stories.
Many of the political parties are complaining this government leaves no room for democracy, with all positions being appointed by the King, even those parties that help put the Royal Family back in power. However, the other side says that this will help unify the government, and keep it efficient and running smoothly.

The Holy Republic of Asan,
Description of Government
The Holy Republic of Asan is a democratic nation whose government consists of a unicameral parliament (the People's Senate), which makes most of the decisions affecting the Asani people. The Senate elects a Prime Minister for terms of two years, although it can remove the PM at any time. The PM runs day to day affairs and is the official Head of State and Head of Government. The current PM is the Right Honorable Reverened Christopher Warfield
The Senate also selects judges for the courts, various ministers for day to day affairs and advisory positions (foreign relations, defense, etc.), and can create and fill other posts as needed.

Beth Gellert
11-08-2004, 04:16
The former People's Commonwealth of Beth Gellert had nothing approaching a Head of Government or a Chief of State, however the Igovian coup has all but created comparable posts.
Being a communist state, The Igovian Soviet Commonwealth of Beth Gellert is run by the people. Every free and sane citizen is able to attend his or her Local Senate (as are many foreigners, who may observe from the balcony), where in issues of the day are put. Each Local Senate operates something like a Greek democracy, and is usually over-seen by a member of The Commonwealth Professional Civil Service, which is the closest thing BG has to a government.
The CPCS consists of experienced Senate-goers, elected by their peers for long and fair debating in the Senate system. Civil Service positions are constantly open to review should a comrade raise the issue in a Local Senate.
Issues made or decisions reached at Local Senates are carried to Regional Senates, where comrades selected on an issue-by-issue basis at their Local Senates bring the selected issues to the table on a wider scale.
At The Commonwealth Final Senate in Portmeirion are debated the major issues of the day, under the watch of the elected long-time Civil Servant, the Commonwealth Chief Consul, currently one comrade Chivo.
In addition, comrade Chairman Graeme Igo now attends The Final Senate, sitting as head of the Communist Party, which is in truth essentially the Civil Service. Comrade Premier Sopworth Igo, Graeme's son, is also able to attend, since the Igovian coup, and the two Igos have as such made themselves two thirds of the presidium at every issue debated in The Commonwealth, as well as adding their votes to said issue.
While this makes the Igovian system far from the dictatorship of Sopworth's past -and brief- term in power, it does leave the Igovians in a strong position to influence any matter upon which they choose to focus.
Head of State: Lord Draconis. He is a dictator for life. He seized power in a revolution several centuries ago. Being an elf, he may live for many hundreds of years. As of now, there is no system to replace him if he dies except promoting the second in command.
Vice President: Count Yuri. He is a vampire and an expert warrior. His main purpose is to act as an emmisary for Akaton and an enforcer of the will of Lord Draconis (he's sorta like Darth Vader).
Government Agencies: (these are headed by members of the ruling class, mostly elves.)
Ministry of the Occult (they study supernatural artefacts, demons, magicks, and the undead)
Ministry of the Treasury
Ministry of Evil (they are a combination of special forces, spies, and secret police)
Ministry of the Fleet
Ministry of the Army
Ministry of the Air Force
Ministry of Foreign Affairs (diplomacy, embasies, and trade)
Ministry of Internal Affairs (education, developement, and transportation)

I hate to link and run, but the Technate's top-level organization is far to complex to describe here in any way that makes sense. Thus, I will refer you to the Technocracy FAQ, section 5.2 (http://technocracy.ca/simp/Technocracy_FAQ_1.x.htm#5.2).
At the top is the Continental Director, which we in Palladia give the title of "Chief Executive". He goes by the name of Gakuryoku Atma, or Atma-sama.
The Director of the Armed Forces Sequence has the title of "Palladiate", a hold-over from earlier times. Tsuwamono Caru is his name, but you may only call him Palladiate Caru.
The Director of the Social Relations Sequence is Cyn Palladius, a sort of Daiai Lama figure.
The Director of the Foreign Relations Sequence is Gaikoukan Joshu, the Technate's most esteemed diplomat.
The other Sequences don't matter. :p
Propontus
12-08-2004, 01:07
Head of State Proconsul Aulus Vespucianus is the chief of state and is currently serving the first year of his five year term. Vespucianus has been termed a centrist, but a more appropriate term would be "fence sitter".
Judicial Branch Four Praetors are appointed to life terms to oversee the Propontian judicial system. Propontus maintains standing courts that consist of a 15 member jury pool (five are chosen by lot for any proceeding) and three Iudexes (Judges, one chosen by lot to oversee any proceeding). Each political district has at least one standing court, with the more populos districts having more courts. There are a large number of special courts at the national level, such as the Special Treason Court, Special Court regarding Financial Crimes etc... . There is no supreme court per se. This role is fullfilled by the Prateors or by the Curia.
Legislative Branch The legislature of Propontus is bi-cameral. The lower house is the Centuriate Assembly, and its members are chose by direct vote. The upper house is the Curia, its members are elected by the Centuriate or appointed by the Proconsul. The Proconsul can veto the Centuriate's decision and vice versa. Most of the real power is held by the curia and foreign policy is the exclusive perogative of the Curia and Proconsul.
Officals Aediles oversee public works and infrastructure. There are 18 Aediles, each elected by the Centuriate assembly. The Aediles are assigned a region of responsibility by lot.
Ten Quaestors oversee financial issues. Ten Quaestors are elected annually by the Curia.
This is a fairly simplistic overview of the Propontian government. Obviously Propontus cannot be said to be democratic, but nor can it be said to be dictatorial. Many describe the govermnent as an oligarchy or a bureaucracy. Most office holders remain in office for very long periods, if not for life. Political parties or affiliation groups of any kind are banned, all office holders run on their own platforms. On most issues, the government usually adopts a conservative stance.
