The news was to be released to an exculsive team of the world media. In Anatoba City, President Edward Grove was preparing himself for his first world appearance on the diplomatic stage. Straightening his tie, he was quickly brushed up before walking out to the gathering of Austarian and World Journalists.

As he walked out, the cameras flashed, hoping to catch a glimpse of the newly elected President, who was confidently striding across the stage. When he reached the podium, he raised his hand for silence as he began his speech;

"Leaders of the Global Community;

As you may, or may not be aware, the Austar Union has become a reasonably influencial member of the world community since its independance since a few hundred years ago. Alliances have risen, alliances have fallen, wars have risen, wars have ended, and most importantly, diplomatic relations continue.

There is no real point in discussing any points, about war, the formation of alliances etc for the time being, as the world does not need yet another alliance. However our world starves for the simple idea of personal diplomatic relation. Many nations rely on the use of group alliances to help them in the global community, and time and time again, such ideas have proved to be ineffective. Therefore, I am inviting all leaders of the world, to meet with myself personally in Anatoba, so that as a group, we may discuss individual diplomatic relations, in hope of increasing them to a friendship level status.

This is why children of the world, I have suggested to my senior cabinet members about hosting the Global Friendship Banquet. By hosting this event, I hope that we are able to forge relations with nations from all over the globe, and also to promote the opportunity for others to discuss relations between themselves.

At this banquet, security provided will be an abosolute high, and dinner and drinks will be provided at the venue. This will be a formal event, however it will not be run to a complete schedule, where it will not take upon the idea of a conference. However, this will be more of a joint gathering of leaders, who can freely move between each other, eating and drinking together as they please.

For security reasons, this will be a strictly closed event, therefore I am inviting all leaders of the world to send their R.S.V.P.'s to our Presidential House as soon as possible, before we host the banquet. Please consider this message as your invitation."

OOC: Basically I am hoping to start the actual roleplay this Wednesday, so if you want to take part, please be quick. I will only be accepting late entrees for selective people, so dont rely on a late entry to get you in. I wont be particularly selective for this here, however I do want an executive member of your government to attend, rather than some random guy at the bottom of your social ladder. Thankyou.

PS: Note, it is not my plan for this to develop into an alliance, and any alliance that forms out of this will strictly be an offspin of this roleplay here if there is one at all.

Maureen June popped a pill from what looked to be an aspirin bottle. She had already taped the invitation, and she sent it to Sasha Cheenin's office.

(OOC: Maureen June is our Public Servant for Foreign Affairs, and Sasha Cheenin is our Chief Public Servant, or head of government. Ms. Cheenin acts like a Prime Minister)

Sasha Cheenin popped in the video tape and pressed "Play." As she saw the invite, she determined to go.

She wrote up a reply,

"Dear Mr. President,

Thank you for your kind offer. I wish to attend your Global Friendship Banquet.

Sincerely,

Sasha Cheenin,
Chief Public Servant,
United Socialist States of Temme"

(The RSVP of Aerion was pinned in traditional style. Elegant parchment paper, sealed by a waxen seal, and wrapped in a red ribbon.)

Mr. President,

His Majesty, King Wasterin X, sends you his greetings. His Majesty has chosen Leirle Dashoshen, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, to attend this event. She will arrive along with retainer."

Sincerely,
Taladon Rupaeo
HRM's Private Secretary

(The RSVP was hand delivered by a Royal Messenger, who traveled by private plane to hand deliver the message to the President's office.)

Prime Minister Charles Helms looked at the clock. "3:00 AM already?" Sighing, he looked at a legal pad with the Prime Minister's Seal engraved in the paper. He picked up a nearby pen and began writing:

"Dear President Grove,"

"Charlie, come to bed.." mumbled his wife Anna as she roled in bed and shielded her eyes from the small desktop lamp Charles was writing under.
"Hold on a moment honey."

Helms continued writing, responded that he would gladly personally come to the banquet. Finally, he wrote his signature, put the letter in an envelope and gave it to an orderly who was talking with a maid in the hallway about how Helms didn't like the toothpaste she gave him.

Dressed in his silk red pajamas, Helms crawled into bed and fell alseep amost instantly...

Rob Pulson considered the matter. He had never thought of other leaders as friends, just allies or enemies. He thought that it wouls be interesting to get to know his fellow world leaders on a more personal level.

"Dear President,

I, Emperor Pulson or Ravea, gratefully accept your invataion. I will attend the banquet.

Thank you again,
Pulson."

The letter was soon sent to President Grove in a Light Blue envelope.

President Edward Grove smiled as the responses already began to flood in from all over the world. He had hoped for some response from the Global Community, however responses so quickly were beyond his expectations.

Taking note of the people who were planning to attend the Global Friendship Banquet, Edward went back to his paperwork, noting to himself to remember to remind his personal secretary to book all the venue, and things nessasary to hold the actual event.

People's Admiral Aleksandrov read over the letter that the commanders in Haton recieved. "Hmm..."

He made his way over to his table and sat down. He pulled out a pen from his uniform and began to write...

Dear Mr. President,

I would be honored to attend this event in the Prime Minister's place, as he has prior engagements.

Dear Mr. President:

I will surely come to the banquet. I want to discuss some matters with you, in specifically the matter involving Bellecus, your former Colony? Anyway, I hope to see you there, also is it formal?
-Ambassador Nikolai Ilyastein

OOC: Meh, he's a backup ambassador, oh, and Rosians hate formal wear :p

Reading through the growing list of R.S.V.P.'s, President Grove took note of the Island of Rose message in particular, noting that a form of reponse would be nessasary. Pulling out a pen and paper, he quickly drafted a response to the Rosian enquiry;

To the Esteemed Nikolai Ilyastien,

You will be welcomed with open diplomatic arms by the Austarian Personnel who will be running the conference. We will gladly discuss any matters with you, including all those involving our former colony of Belecus.

Also, please note that this banquet will be formal, and as such formal dress code standards will apply. I apoligise if this is any inconvenience to you, but it is our personal view that if we are to make our entry into this arena of politics worth something, we at least want to appear as being a proffesional nation, rather than one which is third world and enjoys secondary standards. It is our belief that a banquet of so many world leaders deserves the best, and it will be the best that we will be giving.

Signed,
President Edward Grove

Dear Mr. President:

Okay, thank you for the information, I hope we both can get something out of this. Now if you excuse me, I need to ask my wife to sew me a suit, good day and may God bless you and your nation!
Ambassador Nikolai Ilyastien

OOC: Why must I sew a suit? 10,000R (roses) to buy one. Pure leather jackets on the other hand is 20R heh.

"Mr. Chairman, we have a invitation to attend the Global Friendship Banquet. I think this is a excellent opportunity to mend relations with the world after the debacle and total defeat of the 3rd General Republic so many years ago. It also doesn't make us look as bad for defending our northern friends."

A second? Chairman Marienholst asked

"Seconded" a council member exclaimed

"All in favor

Thirty-three ayes

All against?

none voted

"The Delegates will consist of the Foriegn Minister, Deputy Minister of External Affairs and Three State Council members"

Lady Maelyn looks over her mail. Her faithful butler Jamisen has just brought it to her on a small silver tray. A certain letter catches her eye. The envelope is of elegantly fine parchment and has a bright red waxen seal. She carefully slits open the letter with a small ivory letter opener.

"An invitation to a global friendship banquet."
"Mmm, That sounds like fun! I could get to know some fellow leaders for once."

Maelyn dips her delicate pen into her small pot of black ink to write a response.

Thank You for your invitation to this global friendship banquet. I would very much like to attend.

Sincerely
Maelyn Rinfort

"Minister Yishi, we have a message of a Global Friendship banquet being held. Do you think we might be able to attend?"

A monitor blipped on from the dark, illuminating two.

"Eh. Why not. Respond and ask if they have wheelchair ramps. We need to depart to Joeleoleo if we intend to get there on time."

The monitor blipped back off.

We would gladly attend this banquet, and may we ask if we can bring a Babka? Chocolate Babka is something we can not come without...! We also want to inquire whether or not you are capable of catering to the handicapped.

President Grove read the letter quietly in his office. Like the Rosain letter, this one needed a reply, so he quickly drafted a letter to Prime Minister Yishi, his ink writing beautifully across the page.

You are welcome to bring anything except weapons, as security will be of a maximum level. And yes, we do provide extra assistance to those who are handicapped. As current, our venue does not have facilities, but we can arrange something appropriate.

Signed,
President Edward Grove

The S.C. of Ageaol was overloaded by a sack of letters from Foreign Affairs, his Prime Minister, and countless other people all telling him the same thing; he must attend the banquet at Austar.
With a sigh he got out his pen and started writing.
To: President Grove
From: Supreme Chairman Ageaol

I will surely come to your banquet. It sounds like a fun event.

Signed, Ageaol Agea,
Supreme Chairman of Ageaol

As he was sealing the letter in an envelope and placing the traditional seal on it, The S.C. thought of the wonderful opportunity he had to meet many leaders and make their acquaintances. He ordered the mail to be delivered and slept much more comfortably on the ground when he fell off his chair then he ever had in his life.
