OOC:To start off I will post a brief history of The People's Republic of Delaina. After that there will be an open-rp of a revolution. Now, players may join as either side of the revolution. You may either use your native nation to aid Delaina in quelling the rebellion, or you may help the rebels rise against the oppressive dictatorship of Delaina. No matter what you join as, any Godmodding will be immediately ignored. With that said here it goes.

Delaina's brief history: Delaina was founded approximately 82 years in the past. It was proposed as a place for many people to come together and be happy in a civil paradise. That promise was quickly broken. It did truly begin as a People's Republic, but after it's 76th year as a nation, Damie Winters came into power. He was only 23 years old, but he promised what the country desperately needed, defence, and a strong economic structure. At that time the typical term for an elected official was two years. But during his reign Damien worked to reform the government. Recieving support from the aggressive persuasion of other government officials he was succesfully able to abolish the one term limit to a political leader. Now that he could run in several elections he fought to gain the support of the citizens. After being elected for his second term he began to enforce laws without the consent of the other buerrocratic (sp?) offices. This brought about an investigation into his ruling methods. During the investigation a chairman for the Bureau of Law Creation and Enforcment was assasinated, allowing a bill to pass that would outlaw elections, this was a drastic change that allowed Delaina to become a dictatorship.

After the creation of the dictatorship Damien cracked down on the people. He watched closely using one of the most highly funded police forces in the history of Delaina. He also implemented a secruity system that included the addition of wire tapping and secruity cameras on all public structures. This was seen as many as an invasion of privacy, but now is seen as a normal aspect of life. The people of Delaina have grown to become happy with Damien's rule. He has shown a care for the people's lives, but many still believe that one should not rule a country. And that is where the revolution begins.

OOC:Alright, now that that is established give me a few minutes to write up the beginnings of the revolution so that players have some sort of grounds to join in. Note: This is not going to be strictly a combat thread, there will political aspects as well. For thos that will be joining as revolutionaries, remember, you have the smaller force, thus, guerilla tactics would be the way to go. Choose fights you know you can win. Smaller forces are easier, and quicker to mobilize, and don't fight head on. Stealing the weapons of the enemy is effective. It allows you to grow stronger as the enemy grows weaker.

The National Center of Defence

"Sir, we have a problem, revolutionaries have been spotted just outside of Dollengra."

"What do you mean revolutionaries? There hasn't been a revolution here in history? I'm a thirty year old man, the last thing I need is the stress of a revolution on our hands. Stamp them out immediately, I doubt we'll need international help with this one. Not like many of the people dissapprove of me anyway." Damien was wrong, there were plenty of people that were unhappy with the dictatorship, but many still wouldn't rise up...yet.

The City of Dollengra on the Outskirts of the nation.

A gathering of people had been planned for weeks. Graffiti (sp?) had been used to relay the message to other revolutionaries. Now a group of about 1,000 had ammassed just outside of the city.

"We cannot stand for the oppressive rule of our 'benevolent dictator.' He must be stopped. I know that all of you are willing to help, but this is not enough. We will be facing the mass of the Delaina National Defense Corps. We must go out and recruit others to our cause. I know that there must be others willing to march all the way to the Capitol for the good of the nation. If we don't do something soon Damien may snap. He has already been alerted of our movement as we speak. With that said we must look for other groups that have been planning to rise up against our government to reform it back to the glories Republic that it once was. And this time, there will be no--" She was cut off by the sound of combat helicopters coming in from the east, it had already begun.

"Hurry, go out and spread the word of the innsurection."

Then the whole gathering began to go in all directions but west, that would lead out of the country. And with this, the revolution began.
