Arrival of the Khar Xanthen

Khar Xanthen
07-08-2004, 21:56
In the Age of the 5th Tasre Empire, the realm of the Khar Xanthen crossed the breadth of our galaxy, the Tasre Empire was peaceful, and our empire had no weapons, 876 Trillion people bloomed under the guidance of the Tasre, and the weapons that had once killed many, were destroyed forever, but our pacifism would be our fatal mistake, for in the 546,432,124th year of the Tasre, the Kra'Zhar came, they destroyed our colonies, killed our people, by the 5th year of their invasion, only 56 Billion people remained in the homesystem. The Tasre, in their nobility, began measures to save our brethren, our hastily constructed navy was destroyed, but it had bought us enough time to flee our home, huge cities lifted themselves from the ground of our homeplanet, even as the Kra'Zhar rained death and destruction down upon it, only 9 Cities, on their hastily constructed engines, and covered from the hostileness of space, managed to escape that fateful day, the dawn of the Dark Age.

We fled, but they followed, first the great city of Smaran fell, then Cryhun, then Ya'Rathe, it looked bleak, then two more of our cities fell in space, to the Kra'Zhar, killing billions, Yu'Nwar and Zhiun our capitals, destroyed by the hunters, but finally, they could not follow us anymore, that is when we entered your galaxy, 4 cities remain, Hyuga, Vladia, Hope, and Greyhaven, we have entered this galaxy in our dark age, and we cannot defend ourselves, if anyone recieves this message please, find us and help us, for we fear they may come again.

OOC: For your information:

The Khar Xanthen are ancient, (12,678,768,654 years..) but unarmed, to humanoids they will appear as a glowing blue light, in humanoid form, their voice seems to tell you their age and sex etc. To the more heightened of species, they will appear as "angelic" beings, for want of a better word, sex etc is identifiable by viewing.

This is Marcus De Drakan of the Chronosian Empire. We have heard your call and even now have sent probes to verify your location; we send a message of peace and equality across the breadth of space, and offer you the chance to ally with us. In return, I will send ships to help you in the fight against your vicious and genocidal enemy. If you recieve this message, I pray you wil be swift, there is so much we can learn from one another

What you speak of is true, yet aligning ourself with a empire, nation, person or race, could bring us enemies here, which could do us no good, we have fled to stop being the hunted, we do not wish the same again.

A distant sensor beacon far beyond the edge of Imperial territory, planted there by an explration ship, the Icri Mephet, several years ago, received the message. Coming to life, arcane systems processed the message, translating it as accurately as possible and forwarding it to the next buoy, and then on to the next, until finally the message reached a queue on a single screen in a small office below the mountainous pyramidal palace of the Emperor.

Eventually, a seemingly young woman, with artfully pointed ears, and blue-grey skin touched the holographic display, and the message shimmered to life. Browsing it once, then again, she let out a low whistle. “Five hundred million years?” she murmured, “quite impressive.” She considered for a moment, that the years of this race may be far shorter than those she was used to, but even then, if their years were only a day long, it would still be one point four million. “Ancient enough to interest us at any rate.” A brief wave of her hand, and the matter was transferred to someone more senior, to formulate a response, and within the day, a response was formulated. Other beacons were consulted, and the origin triangulated, and a ship, an Arnstoan class cruiser, the latest version of the fleet’s most prevalent war-vessel, taken from the First Imperial Patrol Group, with certain experts on such situations aboard, was dispatched into hyper speed to investigate.

The cities in space floated, careful not to violate this galaxy that was no theirs to be in, but it was safe for now, the heavily re-enforced protection bubbles of the cities were wearing thin, but they would hold for long enough.

"Prime Minister, Our Sensors indicate an advanced ship incoming at high velocity on our current position, it may be that it has recieved our message." a Rich female voice echoed around the room, bare except for the whiteness of the prime ministers "seat", a pod with many screens, suspended from the cieling. "Course of action, if any?"

"Transmit friendly codes, it is possible they are hostile, but either way, we need to be found, thank you for informing me Vara" The Prime Minister replied, his masculine voice echoing with more power than the female, a show of stance it may seem.

"I shall inform our diplomatic core on Greyhaven of the situation, May Tasre be with us Serol." Vara bowed, and left the room.

"May Tasre be with us indeed" Serol whispered to himself.

The cruiser’s control room was a high room, with creamy white enamelled walls, and a sweeping staircase at one end, the edges of each stair illuminated by the elaborate high necrontyr script, a complex script of lines and circles that was mostly for show, and not used for communication. The room contained a vast hologram cloating in the air, and around its edges tiers of balconies were set up, each containing a small array of controls and displays. A man stalked one of these balconies, over to a console that apparently had something to show him.

“Alright ship, what is it?” he said, watching a flat-screen display.

“It appears,” the vessel replied, its voice seeming to come from nowhere, “that we are being contacted. The intent of the signal, as far as I can tell, is to prove non hostility, I can derive no further meaning.”

“Interesting,” he said, looking at the displayed waveform, “I’ve never seen anything like it.”

“My records,” it said, “contain nothing similar. I shall reply simply,” it said, “by returning their message. For now at least.”

The returned signals bounced into the communications systems, Serol had one of his many consoles centred on the system, and the return of their signal, sent back, caught his eye.

"Tasre may be with us after all.." Serol thought to himself.

"Vara, they returned the signal, do you see it wise to continue with the next stage, though complex waveforms, the mechanics of our more advanced translocation devices, mathematics and philosophy will probably hark nothing but a confused response if any" Serol said to Vara, she was 24 Levels below, but they had been partnered in a soul-link since their birth, their minds and essence seperate, but linked, at the same time.

"I noticed, Serol, but it is the standard procedure, i will inform the transmission" Vara replied.

"Very well, has the diplomatic core been correctly informed of this development?" Serol inquired.

"Yes, now we await a response, and we can see if the Core will even be needed"

"Oh, and Vara, there were no survivors from the last attack"

"Tasre is with us, and not, all in the same moment.. i will await your contact"

Serol closed his mind and essence, and turned it back to his work at hand, governing a shattered race - hoping that the glimmer of friendship shown by a unknown race would be some form of salvation.

More data appeared, filling the screen, and half a dozen more that appeared holographically. “Anything this time?” the man asked, curiously, and the machine made a thoughtful noise, for a moment.

“Oh yes. There is a great deal of data, this time however, the data has more content. Useful stuff. It may take several moments to process it all.” The great vessel was silent for a while, before finally replying, “They were most forthcoming. Much data is here. I respond once more.”

The ship was far less generous in its offering, the content of its return signal a brief introduction to iself, it identified itself as the Shathel, literally translated as Golden Wisdom, and some very sketchy data on nearby factions and groups.

"Shathel, so our unknown contact finally has a name, and they responded more quickly than anticipated, always a good sign, time for a final transfer before they arrive?" Serol asked

"Of course, i beleive it is time for the holographic displays of our people is included with final waveforms and numerous other parcels of menial data, population and such things, and the final question that needs answering, "Light or Angel"" Vara answered.

"And upload their data, it may come in useful" Serol said

"Already done, uploaded and secured, i will also attach a recording of the "Hope and Salvation" Musical composition, see if they have a taste for classical Zxehun music" Vara said to Serol, a small smile detectable in her tone and essence.

"If they dont appreciate it i will be surprised, I need to engage in some Sar'Van'Su, so please contact me when they arrive" Serol said

"Of course Serol" Vara said, and their link went dormant once more.
