The Mindset

I am currently developing my own FTLi technology, to be used upon my capital ships. My home system uses ancient FTLi technology to block unwanted traffic, but this will be a complete overhaul. I will not be basing it upon Kanuckistan's or anyone else's tech, though due to the similarities in their operation, there may be some parallels.
My current (work in progress) theory of FTLi is as follows:
Imagine space as a polygonal grid of triangles. These triangles can be warped and bent into dents and shapes by gravity, but they are not normal triangles, they are 4D. This means they can touch every other triangle in the universe at the same time, while remaining in a fixed location. When you apply force to the lines connecting polygons, they snap apart, and a rip in space is created - a wormhole. Since every triangle touches every other triangle, the wormhole can lead anywhere in the universe, assuming it has enough power. Rips into subspace, hyperspace, and any other space are all formed by tearing apart triangles.
Now, my FTLi theory blocks ships from opening these rips. In order to do this, the bonds connecting spatial polygons must be reinforced. This means a simple application of advanced gravatics. Basically, we "weld" the joints together by projecting specially formed graviton waves into the surrounding triangle lattice. We expect this to consume vast, near infinite amounts of power, though it has the added advantage of forming an incredibly strong gravatic shielding system around any ship carrying a Mindsettian FLTi.
We shall name this FTLi tech: mFTLi.
