For those of you new Space Nations, life can be tough. If you're just emerging now all the good territory is taken, and there are lots of big people out there who can push you around. For the old guys there are lots of competitions, territory claimed by two nations, endless wars, and trade stifling. Well, we are here to propose an end to this. A Galactic Alliance, a governmental body that will help smooth out the inter-stellar pathways, and help the new guys along. Unlike the U.N. on Earth, the Galactic Alliance will not rely on the powers of it's member nations to get things done. it will have it's own army, and it will have it's own trade fleets, repair depots, and everything else. it is not here to rule you, but to help you. All nations are welcome, and we have a loose constitution to help smooth out the differences between member nations. If you have read, and accept the constitution, you're in.

The Duke sat at his desk and sobbed. Well, maybe not sobbed, but he was obviously unhappy. Memories can often cause more pain then the most powerful of enemy weapons. Specifically, the pain of losing a loved one.
But who, exactly, had the Duke lost? His family had been dead for centuries, slaughtering each other to extinction in a quest to become the next Grand Duke. He had no wife, and his parents went into a pair of cryo-pods just after he was born. Perhaps some close friend? No, ever since Jimathon had cracked and shot him in the head he'd always made sure not to get to attached to other people. Then who?
The Galactic Alliance, that's who. Born of the Duke's mind it was like a son to him, the very embodiment of his hopes and dreams. His grandest accomplishment and his worst failure. Today was the Anniversary of the GA's creation, and it still rocked him.
Yet the GA was rapidly being forgotten. It had been dead for centuries and the dead are often buried. The Duke did not want this. He could not just stand by and watch the GA fall into the realm of myth and legend, he wanted to keep the legend alive. He wanted to make sure that all who had felt the warm touch of the GA remembered the GA. He wanted the GA to live, and it damn well would!
"Page!"
"Yes, sir?"
"Find a list of the old GA's membership. Send out a transmission inviting all their leaders to a gathering in Deneb."
"Sir, a lot of them don't like us now."
"I don't care, damnit! Tell them their safety and care is guaranteed for their entire visit. We were allies once, and for this brief time we will be so again. They were in the Galactic Alliance, and we are going to bring back those days.............even if only for a few hours."

OOC: Paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarty! Okay, any former GA members (if you're still even out there) feel free to send your leader (whoever or whatever he/she/it may be) to a party! This is just going to be a party between former allies, so try to have fun with it!
God Save the GA! Wait........to late.
Please, only join if you were a GA member
