ROMAN RANKS
POLITICAL RANKS
EMPEROR:1 Flavius Publius Varro (Imperialist Party): The Emperor is the most completely supreme person in the Empire. The Emperor rules by decree. The Emperor does not have to listen to or appreciate any other opinions. The Consulus' report directly to the Emperor and are voted for by the Senate. Once elected, the Emperor will place the elected Consuli as heads of respective theaters of government. The Emperor can overrule any decision by a Consulus, but a fair Emperor will not. The Emperor must keep alliances. The Emperor can execute anyone in Rome for any reason. The Emperor can control any area of Rome. Taxation, firing and hiring of Generals, and the most important, the selecting of two Legati. The first Legati, or Prima Legati will be the selected Heir. This doesn't necessarily mean that this person will succeed the Emperor…the Senate or others might block. The Secondo Legati will be the head of the Praetorian Guard. He/She may never be Emperor. For the duration of the Emperor's term he is complete dictator and rules by decree. There is no election for Emperor. The Emperor is encouraged to make decisions and to rule the empire effectively according to how he feels the best course of action should be. Nobody should directly speak to the Emperor unless their title is deserving. The Emperor approves all campaign head and all levels of giving out work duties. The Emperor maintains control over every legion campaign, every legion office, and every legion activity if he so wishes. The Emperor may enact or repeal any law as he sees fit. The Emperor can call for trial for a suspected criminal at any time however the Emperor DOES NOT have to hold a trial this is simply a courtesy. To aspire to Emperor is to hold to most sacred legion office. Once an emperor has been elected, he can only be removed through death (natural or otherwise) or retirement.

LEGATUS:2 Jularius Julianus/Titus Curtius Lianus In Imperial times, there are 2 Legatus which are selected from anyone the Emperor feels is so deserving. Usually the loyal of an Emperor are rewarded with Legatus. The two legati are Prima and Secondo. The Prima Legatus is the Emperor's personal choice for heir and has many powers. He or she does not always make it to the throne if others do not support them. The Secondo Legati may never become Emperor while Secondo Legati. The Secondo controls the infamous Praetorian guard and does the Emperors direct bidding. The Praetorian commander selects, secretly, those who will serve him to hunt out threats to the Emperor and kill or imprison them. Legati have more power and a larger say so in the direction of the Empire than anyone else beside the Emperor. The duty of Legati is to be always a servant to the Emperor first, always promoting of the Emperor and his authority. A Legatus should always be assumed to be one of the best and brightest members. Faithfulness and loyalty should be unquestionable.
CONSULUS:5 There may only be five Consuli. Consuli should be unshakably loyal to the Legion, and their oaths. The Senate elects Consuli every term (one month real time). The Emperor appoints from the pool of Consuli in some formal announcement which areas of Government they will oversee. The branches will be Military, Internal Development, Economy, Diplomacy, and Provincial Affairs. The Consuli will approve or fail measures by the Senate that pertain to their office as well as make suggestions for topics. Passed measures go onto the Emperor for final approvals. Voting will take place on the Senate forum. A Consulus is expected to do his duties on time and be as loyal as anyone in the Legion. The Consulus duties are assigned to them by the Emperor.
SENATOR (Republic) 30 Republic Party Senators:30 The Senators are elected from the ranks of Quaestor, Tribune, and Praetor by all people in Rome. You may NOT campaign for the position. Your honor and prestige will speak for themselves. The term will last one year (or one Roman month). The Senate head will be the one with the most votes, or Proconsulus. A 30 member seating, but the senate votes to seat Proconsulus to head the senate as the unofficial 31st seat. Senators will retain the rank of whatever they had prior to going into the Senate when they leave the Senate. The senator can not be promoted out of senate until his term is over.
PROCONSULUS:1 Durala Aaelia Aelius
TRIBUNE (Republic):30 Once a tribune, you maintain this position for one term. It is your job to listen to the complaints of Roman's in the bathes and forums and to plead to Senators, perhaps friendly Senators, to demand the Proconsulus post the issue. All of Rome will vote for Tribunes, not just senators. Do your job well and someone might take notice. One cannot become Tribune unless being Quaestor.
QUAESTOR:N/A A drive to give something back to the roman community is a must. Eligible to run for senate, or Tribunalship. Must spend 1 roman year (one month) as Quaestor before you can join a ballot.
