Roleplaying Psionics
How many would be comfortable with a nation roleplaying Psionics just to spice up the culture (Rather in combat or otherwise) as modern/futuristic?

As long as it isn't a GodMod, go for it. But call it Partial Fantasy, then.

psionics?
bump from the past
psionics=psychic powers
Don't see the problem with it really. As someone else pointed out as long as it's not Godmod there is nothing wrong with it.
...and lot's of us use it already...go for it!

I do RP psionics. That's what's going on here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=380703&page=3) in fact. I've got, in fact, an immense psi-wank going on and am prepared to wank it to the extreme! - if it makes for a good story...

Like all powers and supernatural abilities it's just a matter of balancing it and not abusing it... given the number of nations I know and accept who do us stuff like it I don't have a problem. Just don't force it on people.

Go for it, it's more common than you may realize.

Have to agree with Tarlachia - My nation uses a version of MZB's Darkover Matrix crystals and associated psionics. ( How does scram jet fighter planes powered by Matrix Crystal Psionic technology hit you - no air pollution! )
With psionics just like anothing other than plain old humans you have to balance out the powers and be judicious in their use.
'Scuse my while I go finish dumping a matter-antimatter warhead on my nation' ( post will be up later today )
I have psionics, but I tend to be quiet about it OOCly as well as ICly because it is a rather... tricky advantage to utilize, especially given that it is not anything common such as telepathy or empathy (except among people with the Gift) or something as esoteric as magic-a-different-way. Probably the best way to become acquainted with it is to a) look through my post history and b) see how Cetaganda is reacting to it (which works quite well, I think).
Beyond that, I never truly force it on anyone. I simply mention it to them OOCly whenever it would become an issue and see if they are willing to accept it before I make it a factor.
Psionics make a strong basis for Kriovalian society, especially since we found a way to biologically enhance or manipulate the effects. It also explains how we went from electricity to space travel in eighty years - scientific symposia were practically goldmines for "less-than-ethical" Kriovalian researchers.
