Okay, I have been thinking of this for awhile.

After pondering this for about a month (and reading Angels and Demons five times), I am calling for a resurrection of the Illuminati.

This is what the Illuminati's goals are:

1) The uniting of the brightest minds across the globe to stop the Catholic oppression of science

2) The Infiltration of banks, corporations, and governments to gain money and power

3) The total destruction of the Vatican

The Illuminati will not be a coilition of nations, but rather important people in nations/megacorporations/corporations/scientists gathering to stop the Papal oppression and blasphemy.

OOC: Definately count me in on this one. Even though Imitora is a Catholic nation (were talking pre Vatican I, Spanish Inquisition, all Mass is in Latin type Catholic), I know many people in my nation would find this very intresting.

I always thought the illuminatii were a Catholic organisation dedicated to world domination. I really don't know anything about them (No one really does) Why call an anti religious organisation Illuminatii. Why not call is Project anti neo Eden.

Actually the Illuminati is beginning to be conceived as rather the way described here, as a global conspiracy theory, and the Vatican is its own power faction separate from the Illuminati since the Illuminati and Freemasonry are often connected, which the Catholics have condemned Freemasonry (presumably now explained in Angels and DemonsI think or the DaVinci Code as because the Illuminati managed to infilitrate the highest levels of Freemasonry).

Okay. Remember -- the Illuminati is not an alliance, it is a secret society, headed by people of major importance, such as world leaders (VP's, Ministers, Department heads, Head of States, Congressmen, Generals, etc.), major VIP's (corporation owners, mostly), and SCIENTISTS.

Imiorta, if you could, give me a list of people that might be a member of the Illuminati.

Also, a Dersconi will be the Grand Master of the Illuminati. You will never get to know who, though!! :D

An interesting thought... It would be a shame to have a group intent on destroying one of the most secretive places in the world without someone in Soku's hierarchy in it. *ponders*

Hmm, I figured something like this would come up, it was only an matter of time as theres already an alliance of catholic nations that some evil organization would be in the works sooner or later.

Actually, the Illuminati was founded by Galileo Galilei (sp?), and he thought that both science and religion sought the same thing. THe Catholic church didn't believe that. Galileo then united the brightest minds in Europe to counter the Catholic Church.

Ah, but still Papal oppression and attacks on science? sounds like this organization would be living in an pre twentieth century world with some crazied geniuses in it.

If you know where to look, there is a poem, written in English along the margins of one page, writtem by the person who wrote "Paradise Lost." This tells you where the First Alter of Science is. From there, four statues(made by Bernini, an Illuminatus) will point you 'cross the city of Rome (including the Vatican), and eventually to the Illuminati Lair.

Recruitment will be done the same way. Obtain a copy of Diagramma, find the poem, and look around.

People (ICly) will not just go and say "do you want to join the Illuminati?" Instead, they will find a letter, marked with no return address, with only one message:

Hmm, this seems like quite an interesting idea. We don't much hate catholicism, but there are quite a few individuals that hate religion and who wouldn't mind seeing the Catholic church collapse...

Well, while I agree that Holy Vatican See is the most prominent, and perhaps accurate version of the Vatican, the Catholic Church of Agrigento usually RPs the Vatican as an NPC and has very little contact with it. While this does indeed sound like an interesting RP with great potential it should be noted that its effect on the NS world would be next to nothing. Overall though it seems fun, and goodluck with it.

I, personally, am a Protestant, and dislike Catholism (not catholics, just the religion). The Illuminati is for RP perposes -- I actually do not believe that an organization should go out and bomb Catholism.
