Firstly, I apoligise if this is the wrong place to post this - if it is, then if the mods could kindly move it? :)

Okay, that's the formalities over with. This post is to advertise a new region called "Napoleonic Europe." The aim is to create an RP region based on the Europe of around 1820 to give the place a (relatively) unique playing atmosphere. Players do not have to follow historical events - they are free to create their own events and destinies as in virtually every other region on NS, however this is done whilst using 19th Century setting and technology.

OOC: Hey, uhm, The Ralish Empire is really some way pre-Napoleonic in technological terms, having barely figured out how to work iron, but I wondered if you might allow us to sit in or around Turkey, anyway... I don't want to upset power balances by pretty much knocking the Ottoman out of the picture without asking if you'd mind a relative weakling state there (though population wise we're potentially massive). Presumably we would provide a good area to be pushed and pulled around by more advanced European states, and would spend our time struggling to catch up and to exploit trade routes to the east... any opinion?

OOC: Oh, I should add, if at all possible, I should quite like to start off with a rather absurdly large empire in the eastern Med. but I accept that it would have to reduce as more players came along... I thought the collapse of our ancient empire would be quite timely with the big technological gap and the imperialistic leanings of European powers, maybe?
