OOC: I once had a news thread. It disappeared sometime as I was in boot camp (maybe with the new forums?). This is the continuance of that thread.

Greetings! I'm Ozuki O'Mire, and you're watching South Northmen News.
The Global Tribune reported today that a source in the Ministry of Education leaked information about quote "a big change coming to Wazzu government." The source said that exactly what the change would be was still somewhat unclear, but that the Executive Board has ordered major changes in the structure of the Ministry of Education.
Through our own investigative journalism, SNN has discovered evidence of similar divisions happening in other Ministries and Departments of the Wazzuian government. As far as we can determine, several if not all of these are dividing themselves on a to-planet basis. We can only speculate what this will mean for the future of Wazzu.

With the announcement end of an Isolationist Era, sweeping changes have already taken place in Wazzu international posture. One such development is the opening of sales of civilian aerospacecraft to forign governments, corporations, and individuals on a massive scale. TransCorp has already announced the ramping up of production facilities in Asgard and in the old Comet Shipyards in hope of winning contracts being offered by Martian affiliated nations. (http://s4.invisionfree.com/The_Planet_Mars/index.php?showtopic=229) However, while this has been a goal the company has made clear over the last week, corporate officials refuse to comment.
Another change is the start of production of a redesigned interstellar exploration craft. The as-yet unnamed spacecraft project started under the hands of Wazzu's last Chief Executive Board Member, but was scrapped at the beginning of the Isolationist Era. But the new CEBM, Ela Rios, has announced that "…the reblooming of Wazzu demands that we put fourth initiative."
TransCorp hasn't complained. The aerospace giant is using the government funds put into the project as a jumpstart for its aged production facilities.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Education was also excited, and stated that the projected release of the ship will be just in time to retire 2 exploration ships bought surplus from Sunset over a century ago. The two ships have lasted longer then they were meant to without major incident.
