Bye Bye TFU. Full scall war from the Shivan war machine.

Death to TFU. Iam using Sparten for this one. I am not involved in any current conflict with TFU with any of my other nations so this is not puppet wanking.

The Shivan empire now extended across entire galaxies with nothing but the ESUS holding them back from total Universal Domination. The Shivans however had to take the smaller more weak races out before the cull of the strong. So it came to pass that the Cull of The TFU would happen and it would happen swiftly.

Deep within the sub-spacial grid the Shivan fleet of the Sparten clan began to mobilise. The vast ships stretching off into the distance seemed endless as the disappeared into the darkness of fluidic space. The Sathanas class warships slowly mobilised though they were large themselves they seemed tiny compared to the vast Gargantuan class warship.

The fleet numbered in excess of 2 thousand warships of varying sizes. Over Sixty Five thousand fighters and that was before the Shivans allies joined the battle. The vast Shivan fleet began to activate their subspace dives in preparation for the attack of TFU (The Federal Union). This invasion would be a complete surprise, and it was hoped the TFU would buckle under the vast strain of having to protect such an overextended empire.

*Grabs popcorn* This war is a win-win for me. If the Shivans win, I can send in some marines and gather Federal Citizens for experimentation and enslavement. If the Federals win, The Shivans are weakened and thus an easier target for the ESUS.

Edit: I doubt I'll participate. I'd like to finish off one enemy before I start on the next. <_<

In an act of defiance today, the Confederacy of The Karapatavian System pledged its support towards the Federal Union and its space defences. The KCN (Karapatavian Confederate Navy) is en route to defend Karapatavian and Federal Star Systems.
We are weak, but we have the will to fight. Damn, we may die, our navy may lie destroyed, but we will give them a fight.
-Admiral Krilton, KCN Flagship Andromeda.

The fifty eight ships were in close formation - the capital ships, all thirteen entered spearhead formation, with the strike cruisers following behind in a square formation, and corvettes swarming around. The fleet stopped, and like the sun rising, a blue tide came from behind, sweeping them up into hyperspace.

Angst, Sparten is RPed as a section of a much larger Shivan nation, one that happily inhabits all of the galaxies they have conquered. Because this would be a godmod, Sparten is just one clan of the Shivans, the clan tasked with the destruction of the galaxy. The Shivan core government would never be involved in this, meaning that the super gigantic fleets that could be summoned, cannot. It's a way of balancing it out.

0200 Hours - Probe RP-M1172
Fedral Union Territory, Alpha Quadrant Milky Way

Probe RP-M1172 thundered towards a planet under Fedral Union control. Roughly the size of an average human being, it was jam packed with every sensory instrument that Wormian engineers could fit on it. It was one of millions of such probes which provided Wormian strategists, tactitians, and military officers with routine, round-the-clock intelligence on every major galactic power.

The probe fired it's braking thrusters and settled in a comfortable orbit around a planet, and subsequently cloaked itself. The cloaking device on board was cheap and effective, but most ships that were close enough could detect the probe. For this, it would simply maneuver out of the way of incoming vessels.

0200 Hours - Miroku Intelligence Station
International Waters, Alpha Quadrant, Milky Way

The Miroku Intelligence Station was the missing link in the puzzle. In international waters, the large station simply sat, absorbing thousands of signals from its respective probes. Aside from collecting sensory and communications data from its army of computerized spies, the station itself stood in space, a sensor sponge, absorbing almost all information that passed it.

It was a massive station, but had a mere 300 man crew. It was mostly automated, needing its crew mainly for maintenance and whatnot. A few crewmembers oversaw incoming transmissions, and would deem them, "of interest," and would promptly send them to Wormian Space Command.

Inside, Commander Marcus Otho walked in the primary operations center of the station. It was small, and only ten to twenty crewmembers were inside it at one time. It was guarded by numerous guard AI's and special forces. He leaned over the shoulder of one of his operations lieutenants.

"TFU Probe in position, sir. It is calibrated and ready to intercept transmissions."

"Good." He replied.

The tiny ship moved through space effortlessly, long flexable wings, seeming to flow on an invisible aethreal tide. Stars shone in the distance, and the shield shimmered slightly as it absorbed radiation and deflected dust particles. The absorbant paint, "borrowed" from a previous customer, soaked in the remaining light as the 120 foot vessel moved silently and nigh invisibly in system. The "pilot" slept, or his body did, his mind moving seemlessly with the AS system as the ship slowly manuvered to possition. The Fedral Union. . .

Alphabeta six. . . small, unimposing, it soon would become either a Takian territory or beholden to the Fleet. He looked through the sensors, his mind probing the planet's visage before engaging visual screens. He no longer needed to see, to smell, to hear, but he found the familure sences comforting.

Illogical that you feel a need to do that. . .

if his body had been animated, Xavier may have smiled, rather he turned his mind to the AS system.

It always puts us out of synch, why?

a moment passed and Xavier could feel it formulating its answer, a cold, hard equasion that he never quite got used to.

Because there is no need for such an action, I simply attempt to keep the most efficient option as my option. . . our option. . .

And they say you have no sence of self

Xavier closed the viewscreen as he activated the Takian generator, the fold system acctivating as the subspace dampers cut off.

Soon, we will turn the tides of this battle, and the spoils will be ours. . . soon old friend, Fleet Segmentus will reclaim our rightful place as the Imperial Armada. . . soon, our Prince will be replaced in his possition of power.

He paused, and reopend the viewscreen, admiring the planet as his sensors swept for the invasion fleet.

OOC: Any ships sent to aid TFU right now will be ignored as no one knows iam coming to attack. Not a soul. That means Taka you are IGNORED as TFU does not know about the impending attack so therefore you dont and to anyone else whp ahppens to have a fleet on the way to his system

http://www.theraven452000.addr.com/tunes2/jj115.ram a bit of irony for ya

The Shivan fleet was nearing its exit coordinates, they were now in proximity to the TFU system and each vessel was now ordered to power up their weapons and subspace drives. The fighters were now also charging weapons though they would be held in reserve. The Shivan fleet ranked in a vast wall formation in an inverted V shape had the Gargantuan at the point. This vast Shivan juggernaut was the command ship for the entire battle, it had more technology on it and new weapons than any other ship in the clans, even more than the Shiva itself.

The fleet began to generate their subspace portals and were slowly making their way to the TFU system of AlphaBeta 6.

In the calm of the TFU system civilians were going about their daily lives. Standard economic transports were passing to and from the planet while the military ships on patrol wee unaware of what was about to happen. The Shivan ships emerged from subspace suddenly and abruptly their beam weapons fired upon all civilian ships and military vessels in range as soon as they cleared the subspace portals. The Gargantuan however did not emerge from subspace that warship merely waited until the time was right.

The Shivan fleet that now came out of the rift began to head towards the TFU forces that were not scattered (I assume scatted on patrol and stuff like that). The Shivan fleet now appearing like an eclipse to the planet below began to advance upon the surprised and now scrambling military forces.

The newly arrived Shivan vessels immediantly began to jam all communication channels emitting huge ammounts of electronic jamming signals. The TFU high command would only recognise a suprising lack of chatter from this colony.

1200 Hours - Probe RP-M1172
Alpha Beta 6 (TFU Star System)

The probe's sensors monitored a relatively peaceful and uneventful civilian populace carrying out their business on the planet's surface. Orbital business also continued as usual. The probe's internal workings had little to transmit.

Even the solar system's overall energy levels remained in the norm. Perhaps abnormally high in zero point energy density, but... the alpha quadrant tended to have an unusually high amount of zero point energy transit flows. Alpha Beta 6's sun had a radiation spike for a moment or two, but the levels tapered off and returned to their normal levels.

It wasn't too long after the Shivan fleet blasted into the system, however, that the probe's sensors began to light up like a christmas tree.

Immediately, the probe dispatched a quantum radio beam aimed directly at it's mother station, the Miroku. Immediately afterwards, the probe set it's sights on the impending battle and adjusted it's passive sensors accordingly. The fireworks would fly, and Wormia would know about it.

1207 Hours - Miroku Intelligence Station
International Waters, Alpha Quadrant, Milky Way

The tiny, superluminous messanger from Probe RP-M1172 pinged off of one of the Miroku's numerous parabolic signal dishes, to be reflected into the conic reciever in the center. In under a second, the tiny signal was transformed from a gravimetric radio wave to an electronic signal, which was in turn transformed into readible, audible, and visual data on one of the Intel Review Consoles on board the Miroku.

"Sir.... you may want to take a look at this..." an intelligence officer at on e such console gestured his captain to come and look at the interesting and alarming display before him.

The base commander walked over, and took one glance at the brightly colorful screen before him. "My god in heaven.... transmit to WSSC... immediately...."

And, as the probe had done not minutes ago, the Miroku blasted a low energy, cohered quantum radio signal towards the Unity Wormhole. In around ten minutes, Wormian Strategic Space Comman would detect, decode and display the signal, that once again, the Shivan's had attacked.

1200 Hours - Federate Palace
Phoenix, Phoenix

Chancellor George Thomas IV paced the upper levels of the palace that had been the home of Wormian leaders for two centuries. The marble floor of the upper floor gleamed with the orange dusk sunlight coming in through a wall size crystalline window.

The room he stood in was relatively empty with the exception of an antique looking mahogany desk in the corner. Of course, it's appearance of antiquity was solely that - an aesthetic property. Inside the wooden object was a sophisticated array of computers and holo emitters. Above the wooden surface of the desk hovered a hologram displaying the latest in galactic affairs.

Admiral Lucius Decimus entered the room. He was Wormia's highest ranking officer... and a close friend to the beleaguered Wormian Chancellor. "Sir. The latest report of our probes..."

Chancellor Thomas continued to stare out the window of his palace, overlooking the pristine city that was the capital of the Federated Stellar Republics. "Go on." He said, without turning.

"A Shivan fleet has attacked the Fedral Union sir. Response to the attack has been... slow."

Thomas looked down. "I might have guessed. Admiral... we cannot possibly back down. To do so would admit to the Shivan cause."

"Sir?"

"We brace for an epic battle, Admiral. We are in command, Admiral. It is our decisions, now, that dictate the future. Times such as these try the integrity, perseverence... and courage of men. Admiral... will we falter? I, for one will not allow our integrity to shatter. I will not allow our perseverence to waver. I will not allow our courage to break. I will not allow loss. We will stand with those who stand offended, our fellow human beings, and we will defeat the Shivans."

"Quite... a hard call sir..."

"It is one that has needed to come for quite a long time now. The world is in dire jeopardy. The very existence of empires remains in our hands. I may not fully agree with the government of the Fedral Union... but millions of lives- human lives... are in grave danger, and dire need. Their pleas fall not on deaf ears. Admiral, make them pay."

Decimus snapped to an attention stance, one that he had not been in since his days as a cadet. "Yes sir." He said, and gave the venerated Chancellor the maritime salute.

2000 Hours - Phoenix Station
Phoenix Orbit

Phoenix Station. Wormia's first orbital city. In it, over 100 million individuals were busily going about their business in one of Andromeda's busiest trade centers. Aside from a key commercial and economic station, it was a self-sustenant spaceport for the Federate Republican Navy.

Inside, over ten million men and women alike worked for Wormia's military. Marines, captains, tacticians and strategist worked with speed and number that made Wormia's fleet such a deadly one. However, most of these tasks lay silent, as the majority of the military individualshad gone to Phoenix Station's massive auditorium.

At the podium was no less than Admiral Lucius Decimus. In front of him stood ten million Wormians clad in military uniforms. Not one individuals eyes diverted from the staunch Admiral at the podium.

"Ladies and gentlemen..." He began. His voice was gruff, but overly so. A balance between his military authority and yet a proponent of reason was conveyed by his voice.

"The galaxy is shattering. We remain a noble nation... one of few remaining. We stand alone, as the pinprick of light in the swath of shadow. Today, we extend our hand to end neutrality - and begin a lasting allianceship. Today, we do not sail into the heart of darkness into Corpsacian space. Today, we do not sail into the asteroid field that is Underwater Asylum. Today, we do not sail to the assistance of an ESUS ally. Today, we sail to the aid of our fellow man. No longer can we place limits on the assistance we place to our own kind. Today, we sail to the assistance of the Fedral Union."

"The Shivan race has once again not surprised us with their aggression. However, this day we have the element of surprise. We will come to the aid of any and all who are threatened by all things Shivan. No longer will we filter out the need of those who are allies and those who are enemies. Today, the Shivans shall rue, as today, they have incurred the wrath of Wormia's Phoenixius Battle Fleet."

He looked over the deathly silent audience. He had made his point. He would bring the Shivan empire to ruins... or die trying.

"An epic battle awaits victory, and the call to arms has been sounded." He said, gently. "Dismissed."

The SHivan armada was hailed by the sudden emergace of the Hive ships, a hailing frequency was established which greatly interested the Shivans. A non human species offering an allaince. The Shivans sent a reply.

IC: The Nazi Utopia fully expected some of her more...squemish allies to attempt to assist The Federal Union. Wormia was at the top of the list. Command had deemed it highly likely that they would move to support TFU against the Shivans.

This had to be prevented at all costs. The Shivans and the Union would fight eachother into exhuastion, provided no powerful empired interfered. Wormia was interfering. Thus, it was prudent to stop them from aiding the Union. And the Nazi Utopia had to act quickly. Fourtunately, it always kept methods of doing just available.

The Pirate ship Carrib lurched towards Wormian space with all haste. There, it would randomly attack Wormian targets...

The crew was told they were employed by The Federal Union, that they were to spread dissention amongst the Union's enemies. Not one member of the crew questioned the orders. After all, they commonly did freelance mercenary work for various governments that wanted to maintain some secrecy. That they were paid in gold bars, stamped with the Flag of the Federal union only served to reinforce the illusion. In fact incriminating evidence was placed all throughout the ship. It really did appear as though TFU had ordered the attack.

The only man who didn't know was the Captain. He had been in the pay of the CF government for years, and he was fully prepared to attack the Wormians.

All space piracy came with risk, this was no different. The wormian defenses would likely be deadly. They would need to be cautious if they were to survive the coming onslaught.

After several hours of traveling at warp (With a bootlegged and obsolete TFU warp drive no less), they arrived at their destination, the first Wormian target they could find.

Of course, the Carrib's scanners weren't very good, so they could not detect anything. They could have waltzed into the primary fleetbase of the Wormian forces, and they wouldn't have known it.

Still, there was a planet down below, and there were several large power signatures on it.

The Carrib aimed for those power signatures, although it was unlikely to hit them at all. It's tracking systems were subpar. And it's torpedos were horribly slow and easy to intercept.

Still, it launched twelve seperate fusion torpedos. Each one fitted with a twenty megaton warhead.

OOC: I fully expect you to destroy the Carrib. The point is that there is so much falsified evidence aboard that some of it will survive the ship's destruction.

I also don't expect to do any major damage. It's not like those torpedos are particularly accurate. Nor are they hard to shoot down. :)

2374 Hours - Terralon Defense Command
Orbis Terralonica, Terralon System, Andromeda

The Terralon Defense Command compound was a heavily fortified underground... well, fortress. In it, over a million beings worked at any given time, monitoring Terralon to make sure that it was always safe from attack.

Lieutenant Decimus Thracius was one of these millions. He worked with the same shift every day, his group of fifteen people. These individuals he had come to know, and come to trust. Each of them had their respective tasks, communications, weapons, sensors, and of course, radar monitor. The latter was the duty of Thracius, who found it often times, mundane. But, it was necessary.

The group that he worked with was all centered on monitoring Orbital Sector 12, a marked zone of orbital space around and above the northern pole of Terralon. This "imagined" zone of space was... suffice to say... off-limits to unauthorized craft.

Thracius continued to monitor his screen with an aura of boredom. This changed when his radar confirmed an unidentified... unauthorized vessel in this space. He was about to inform his peer at the communications console to contact the vessel, but his console lit up like a christmas tree. The unidentified and unauthorized interloper had foolishly fired twelve missiles of sorts.

The sensors operator had a lock and a reading on the missiles in seconds, "Fusion bombs... twenty megaton... incoming!"

The CO of the group acted quickly and swiftly, "I'm enacting a firing solution, target our MDC's in sector twelve, fire at their will."

"Yessir." the communications officer relayed the information to the polar surface guns.

2374 Hours - Terralon Sector 12 Defense Guns
Orbis Terralonica, Terralon System, Andromeda

Under a minute had passed since the contact emerged and fired on Terralon. The signal, and authorization to fire had already reached the Sector 12 polar defense guns, which would eliminate the oddly small attacker.

Not unlike their counterparts at Terralon Defense Command, the guns at the poles had their respective crews with tasks assigned accordingly. And, not unlike their counterparts in Defense Command, they also had a CO.

"Sir! We have a contact bearing 12-26-104! Firing solution has been authorized by TDC!" A gunnery lieutenant shouted to his CO, who ran over.

"Did you enter the code?" the CO queried.

"Yessir, I did." The lieutenant replied.

The CO then grabbed the tiny key dangling from a metal "bracelet" of sorts. He placed it in a keyhole which fit it appropriately, and turned it. With that, the gun automated itself, and the computer took it over.

Both CO and lieutenant got up to watch the turret they controlled do its job. The Microwave Disruptor Cannon turned, took aim at the sky, and fired. Four barrels spewed petawatts of electric death in the form of microwaves. Whatever had been up there would not be for much longer.

The Shivan fleet slowly began to power up its subspace engines however they were not leaving because of the hive, they had more to do. As each ship left into subspace the left behind one small nanite floating in space. Undetectable to the TFU ships/fleet, they would remain dormant until a ship hit them. The gravity of the TFU planet would pull the nanites ever closer to their target and because this weapon had never been used by the Shivans before nor did anyone know of its creation the Imperium would have complete and total deniability.

As the Shivans departed the nanites moved ever closer to the planet, gravity doing all the work for them, soon the TFU colony and populace would be overrun.

0653 Hours - FRW Stellarium
Alpha Beta 6, Alpha Quadrant, Milky Way

The Pheonixius Battle Fleet emerged into the system of Alpha Beta Six. Though no Shivan ships were currently in the system, the highly sensitive Wormian sensors were quick to notice the simple fact that they had left relatively recently.

On the bridge of the flagship Stellarium, the situation was far more active than the peculiarly quiet space around them. Admiral Lucius Decimus leaned forward in the center seat.

"I... don't see any Shivan ships around..." He made note aloud.

His sensors operator chose this as an apt time to reveal his data, "Shivan subspace exit signatures, Admiral. And they are HOT."

"I see. We are in orbit around Alpha Beta Six, are we not?" He asked.

"We are, Admiral." His helm officer replied to his query.

"Good. Communications, hail Alpha Beta Six, and sensors, make a full systemwide sensor sweep. I want to make sure there are NO Shivan ships remaining. Don't let our guard down." He said.

The sensors operator and communications officer simultaneously nodded with an, "Aye, sir." The subsequently looked at eachother for a brief moment of peculiarity, and then returned to their respective tasks. It wasn't long however, before the sensor operator had recieved a reading from orbit.

"Sir... you may want to take a look at this... it... it's not normal... whatsoever..." He alerted his commander.

"What is it?" Decimus strode over to the sensors console to have a look at the 'peculiar' reading himself. To his surprise, it was indeed peculiar.

"A faint reply from our radar sir. It's almost as if only 1% of the actual radar beam is being returned to us..." The sensors operator hypothesized to the cause of the anomaly.

"Under 1%, lieutenant. Closer to .02%. Can you get a more detailed scan on that?"

"I can do a short range, high resolution beam..."

"Commence." He said.

The sensors operator nodded, and began fiddling with his buttons and switches to his console. Finally, he had sufficiently tweaked the beam to function only short range as a high definition scan that could identify rogue quarks racing through space.

In a matter of moments, the data from the scan re-materialized on the sensor console's screen as beautifully shaded and renedered three dimensional images. They were not dust particles, and they were certainly not quarks. They were distinctively alien looking, as they lacked the rigid, stern and conformant shape of human nanobots.

"What... the...?"

"Nanites." Admiral Decimus said. "Fedral Union sensors would not have detected these... how very fortunate ours did. Any clue as to their purpose?"

"Unknown sir. Most of them are currently dormant... but... undamaged. It is composed of several unknown alloys... at least... none our external sensors can discern."

"...I begin to wonder...." Decimus pondered for a moment. Was this perhaps an opportunity fallen in his lap? "Tactical... have a level five AG quarantine chamber prepared. Lock on with our cargo transporters, and energize the nanites into that quarantine chamber."

"Yes sir." He nodded. He locked onto the nanites with the transporter beam routinely used for nonliving cargo, and stood by for his commander's orders.

"Bring them aboard, lieutenant." He said.

I am now ignoreing TFU, however i just need to know Wormia what type of field are you holding them in?
Central Facehuggeria
27-07-2004, 00:51
OOC: Wormia, these killer nanites would take the form of a dust cloud. It is highly unlikely that your sensors would be able to pick them out from all the other space debris (just astroids and such.) And even it they did, the radar reflectivity on those nanites is so low that it would be little more than whitenoise on your displays.

IC: The Carrib took two hits immediately. Somehow, the patchwork pirate vessel managed to stay in one piece long enough for the other two blasts to hit it. It was summarily gutted, and it began breaking apart. Only a few crewmen managed to get to the stolen escape pods before the ship exploded into a firey inferno.

The three pirates who survived knew nothing of being hired by the Central Facehuggerian government. All they knew was what their captain had told them, that the Federal Government ordered the attack...

I am now ignoreing TFU, however i just need to know FCN what type of field are you holding them in?

Were you referring to me? Wormia and Five Civilized Nations are two quite different entities...

Point taken, CF. However, before dismissing that post, look at this.

Common radar technology today can routinely pick up pings the size of a bumblebee, most are simply calibrated to filter that out. God knows how many bumblebees are within the radius of Air Traffic Control radars.

A bumblebee is not nearly the size of an asteroid, which would show up like the broadside of a barn on a radar screen, but it would have a tiny blip to it's own. A group of nanites would probably show up as a fine mist. Fine. A tiny cloud to its own, orbiting Alpha Beta Six. A cloud of unregistered compounds, no less. Not the least bit intriguing?

In any case, Wormia's radar has at least two hundred years on concurrent technology. Given the rate of human advancement in the 20th century, let alone the achievements of the 21st century already, I think it isn't farfetched to say that we will have very pinpoint detection systems in two centuries.

OOC: Nobody finds it odd, that nanites can survive entry into the atmosphere? I thought they would just burn up.
Unified Sith
27-07-2004, 11:03
In fact they will not burn up in the atmosphere for one reason, that there speed is very very slow. The time frame for these nanites descending would be weeks as things only burn up in the atmosphere due to their great speed. The surface area of the nanites is so small as well that they will have very little collisions with air particles/molecules until they are activated.

Sorry Wormia i thought that you were FCN for a while then i realised my error and i did edit it. but it never went through the edit. Oh well my previous question stands.

OOC: They are so small that they don't need a lot of collisions to get destroyed. And how do they control their descent?
Jordaxia
27-07-2004, 13:58
Actually, the possibility that anything would hit anything would be minute. After all. You can drop an ant from any height and it can't fall fast enough to die when it hits the ground. This is smaller and lighter. Chances of it being destroyed are null.

Three fields, basically.

Containment Field:
This field is like the force fields on Star Trek, in that it negates the idea of matter or energy not it's own from occupying that spot. This effect creates, to the human perspective, the illusion of a wall. A painful, energy based one. The energy levels of said field can be adjusted as high as desired, limited, of course, by the ship's own power systems. It is a dynamic field, taking on whatever geometry the operator sees fit and programs it. Generally, sphere and cube are preferred.

The idea behind this field is to prevent accidental contamination of a ship's crew. Panspermia is an ever present fear in Wormia, as it should be any stellar empire. An infected starship could "catch" an alien virus, infect it's crew which then disperses it at port. It could easily lead to the fall of an empire, were one foolishly careless. Naturally wishing to keep imperial longevity, Wormia implements a number of safety devices to prevent a panspermian outbreak.

Prisoners and stowaways would find this field to be a temporary dwelling until proper law enforcement could be enacted. The fields would remain their 'homes' until port was reached. This is, of course, under the assumption that they were caught.

AG Field:
This is basically a spheroid "shell" of antigravitic energy, suspending the subject/specimen in a fixed position the center of the containment field, where it is most easily scanned by the quarantine sensor chamber. This can also be set to whatever energy level is needed, again and obviously limited by the ship's physical limitations. The force applied by the fields is generally around 150 lbs, for standard bioform examinations. Obviously, the force is proportional to the energy level.

These fields found implementation in scientific labs following the discovery of reverse-graviton generation. Hundreds of surface-based laboratories could not match the purity of experiments conducted in space, where gravity was virtually zero, preventing impurities. Laboratories rendered long-since obsolete to society's progress found themselves once again powerhouses of scientific achievement, as now the surface labs could outmatch orbital ones due to minimal expense.

The field found its way on Wormian starships when scientific laboratories debuted on board warships, having become a staple of modern laboratory equipment. By suspending objects in a fixed position in the center of the containment field, scans may be more accurately completed as the specimen is kept isolated from the static-generating containment field. For observing stationary matter, this is useful.

As far as bioforms go, it allows shipboard medical staff to move a bioform to a desired position for operation, while comfortably omitting the possibility of doing damage (as would result in a gravitational environment).

EW/R Field:
The Energy Withdrawal and Recyclatory field generates an ambient field which uses the universal properties of string theory to negate energy production, and absorb existing energy in the area. Much as the 'strings' in string theory oscillate to define themselves, the Wormian EW/R field uses self-generated oscillations to either cancel out or add to the existing oscillations of individual strings (i.e. a high energy photon would simply become a normal or low energy photon).

Rather than actually absorbing the energy, the field simply moves it away from the quarantined specimen to be used in reinforcing the containment field or the AG field. Of course, the amount of energy generated by the specimens is the limit to which the other two fields may be fortified.

The advantage of this field is simply in it's facilitation of oscillations on the string level- where all particles are one and the same. Thus, it can be used to absorb virtually all known energy sources used. The energy absorption is approximately 75-80% of the total existing energy, as absorption of any higher percentages results in an inordinately large amount of energy going to the field itself. 100% energy absorption is undesirable, since most occupants will be bioforms, a 100% energy absorption rate would result in death. Most bioforms caught in the field will experience the sensation of severe sleep deprivation. Most bioforms simply go into a light, comfortable coma for the duration of the field.

The Nanites floated in the containment field majestically as though they were suspended in a pool of water. Moving about the field the nanites drew ever closer to the energy barrier. The barrier would surely fry anything that touched it and this was true the Nanites would perish upon contact however they would begin the demise of the Wormia ship.

One of the Nanites hit the energy wall and was almost instantly disintegrated, however the vast surge of energy that passed through its systems powered up its recycling mechanism and as the Nanite was being destroyed it was replicating hundreds more. This trend began to continue and within a mere 2 seconds the chamber that was once clear filled with only a mere 3 nanites was now filling up.

The chamber was now becoming pressurised. The nanites at the edge of the chamber were constantly absorbing the energy of the barrier until there was no more room for the recycled nanites. None the less the nanites continued to replicate increasing the vast pressure now inside the chamber. The nannites now linking up with one another were now taking the form of the chamber. The energy drain upon the barrier would be immense and it would only be a matter of time before the shield collapsed and the nanites were released into the ship.

The AG field you are generating I don’t know wether that will affect the nanites. I believe not as it’s the energy from the containment field that they are using. The Nanites are designed to be destroyed by impact with such energy sources however there main function is before they are destroyed they are to create more nanites. Its up to you with this outcome, however I think you trying to stop a plague from consuming the ship would be nice. Please let them get out as they have more cool things that they can do. Pretty pretty please.

I'm just curious how they got through the AG field. It's pushing them to the center, away from the inside edges of the containment field. Aside from a slight violation of causality and Einsteinian physics that Taka mentioned.... I'd like to know how a >1 oz nanite got through a field that regularly supports 100+ pound people regularly.

Or, for that matter, how you escaped the energy drain?

OOC

Won't most of that evidence be nullified by the fact that you can spell Federal and the Fedral Union can't?

*The stasis torpedo reached the core of the debris and detonated a small bubble enveloped the area slowing time down inside it phenominally - so much so that a second of relative time inside the bubble was 5 years of real time outside. Mean while the hive vessel had cought up to each of the slow escape pods and had informed the occupants that they where allies of the TFU - attaching a sinue strand to each one it pulled them back to the debris before launching them in a catapult style into the stasis bubble - they enterd the bubble and then stopped just inside trapped there until the feild dropped.*

ooc>
The power inside the torpedo is enough to last 20 seconds - however in real time this is 200 years. (stasis effect) so while it only lasts for 20 seconds it appears to last for 200 and will not weaken for 170+ Any object entering the bubble will be trapped whole - the bubble will simply enveolpe them and can expand to any size in this manner - as the bubble is simply a small temporary rift in space time i dont know of a way to counter act it using sheilding as yet. Any one with some good ideas let me know - several accidents have happend and while i know how to push objects out of the bubbles having several clusterd in my home system is hazardous to say the least :P
