Labor Strike Question....

Hello all...
I'm new to this, but I have a question already. Namely, yesterday my furniture restoration union demanded a 20% increase in their wages. I gave it to 'em. Looking at my nation profile today, it says my country is being ravaged by daily strikes! What up with that?

Any ideas? Please respond via telegram. I'm also willing to endorse any nation with values closely related to mine.

OOC: Dude, don't endorse nations unless you're sure they won't boot you as soon as they gain the delegacy *cough*Great Bight/UPS Rail*cough*.

IC:
You granted your workers the knowledge that they can ask the government for wage increases and get them. So now they go on strike very often in the hopes that you'll increase their wages.

Every respionse you make will have both positive and negative effects. The positive effect is that your people get higher wages. The negative effect is that the industry suffers because it has to constantly increase wages or risk strikes.

There are three ways to deal with striking workers; break the strikes up with brute force/intimidation, meet their demands totally or partially and finally do nothing at all and wait for them to give up due to lack of money.

In The Incorporated States of Tom Joad selective use of law enforcement is the prefered method of dealing with strikers.

That questions *really* annoys me. An appropriate third option would be to open an Industrial relations Court which would arbitrate between the two groups. ensuring workers were protected and treated fairly and worker exploitation and union thuggary.

How does one go about creating a court then? Like I said, I'm new to this, and some of these options aren't readily apparent.

You can't. The only thing you might be able to do is RP one and then dismiss the issue when it comes up.

Might have a touch more luck in the right forum.

Say, maybe... "Got Issues?" or "Gameplay"
