Chilombisuecia
22-07-2004, 10:58
Since Chilombisuecia is a dictatorship (however led by a mostly benevolent dictator) the people must be allowed to vote about some less important things to calm them down and give them an impression of freedom.
That's why the Chilombisuecos are allowed (voting is mandatory) to vote for a new national anthem every second year. National songwriters are submitting their contributions to the festival held summertime every second year. The people vote and the winner is declared one week later. The winning song remain the national anthem until the next festival's winner is announced 2 years later.
There is only one rule for the contestants... the song must have its roots in the Salsa genre.
The Dregruk National Anthem is "Praise be to the army".
The words are often made up on the spot, what with singing not being a very common practice in Dregruk. The words that usually are used are,
"Boom boom BAAAOOOOM!
Kill everyone that invades our room!
BOOM BOOM BAAAOOOOM!
Kill kill kill..."
And so on. What it lacks in grace, patriotism and class it makes up for with loud drums and yelling. And gunshots. Or artillery.
Sarzonia
22-07-2004, 17:15
As creative as I can sometimes be with RPing and/or songwriting (which is one of my non NS passions, BTW), I have yet to write a national anthem for Sarzonia.
My current national anthem is a Fleetwood Mac song called "Freedom," off their 1990 album Behind The Mask. It's co-written by my favorite singer-songwriter (Stevie Nicks). Mike Campbell of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers is the other co-writer.
Dim and wavering
On a wind-blown night
Whose honour, whose anger
Cold and quivering
As was the wind-blown night
Into which she'd fallen, fallen
Freedom, well it's a thing that is fleeting
Freedom is standing next to you
My intentions were clear
I was with him
Everyone knew
Poor little fool
Beautiful as you are
With that high spirit
Morning star of evil hit me
Cut me like a knife
Cool and collected
She became that with time
Totally rejected
Freedom, well it's a thing that is fleeting
Freedom is standing next to you
Well my intentions were clear
I was with him
Everyone knew
Poor little fool
It's all in the eyes
It's all in the way that you look
It's all in the way
That you say very little
It's all in the way that you talk
Look at me with daggers
It won't do you any good
All the looks that you've used on me
Don't work now that you've fallen,
fallen, fallen
Freedom, well it's a thing that is fleeting
Freedom is standing next to you
My intentions were clear
I was with him
Everyone knew
Poor little fool
Look at me with daggers
It won't do you any good
All the looks that you've used on me
Don't work now that you've fallen
All the looks that you've used on me
Don't work now that you've fallen
Freedom
Freedom
Everyone knew
Poor little fool
Poor little fool
Poor little fool
Freedom
Come with me
Poor little fool
Freedom
We use The Internationale. Listed below are the lyrics, for those of you who don't know.
Arise ye workers [starvelings] from your slumbers
Arise ye prisoners of want
For reason in revolt now thunders
And at last ends the age of cant.
Away with all your superstitions
Servile masses arise, arise
We'll change henceforth [forthwith] the old tradition [conditions]
And spurn the dust to win the prize.
So comrades, come rally
And the last fight let us face
The Internationale unites the human race.
So comrades, come rally
And the last fight let us face
The Internationale unites the human race.
No more deluded by reaction
On tyrants only we'll make war
The soldiers too will take strike action
They'll break ranks and fight no more
And if those cannibals keep trying
To sacrifice us to their pride
They soon shall hear the bullets flying
We'll shoot the generals on our own side.
No saviour from on high delivers
No faith have we in prince or peer
Our own right hand the chains must shiver
Chains of hatred, greed and fear
E'er the thieves will out with their booty [give up their booty]
And give to all a happier lot.
Each [those] at the forge must do their duty
And we'll strike while the iron is hot.

The Horned Rat
22-07-2004, 17:51
This the national anthem of The City Of Pillars(a nation in my region)
Unbreakable Union of freefought Clans,
Great Skavenblight has welded forever to stand.
Created in struggle by will of the rat-kin,
United and mighty, our Under-empire!
Squeek to the Sunken-City, home of the swarm,
Bulwark of rats in brotherhood strong.
O Council of Thirteen, the strength of the Vermintide,
To Skaven's triumph lead us on!
Through tempests the tolls of the Bell have cheered us,
Along the new path where the Horned One did lead.
To a selfish cause He raised up the rats,
Forced them to labor and vicious deed.
Squeek to the Sunken-City, home of the swarm,
Bulwark of rats in brotherhood strong.
O Council of Thirteen, the strength of the Vermintide,
To Skaven's triumph lead us on!
In the vict'ry of Skaven's man-less ideal,
The Seer sees the future: Great Ascendancy.
And to His tattered sacred banner,
Selfishly true we always shall stand! (and sometimes flee)
(This is based off of the Russian national anthem, play it, and read the words, they follow it.....)

In my Nation, freedom of speech isn't allowed (mostly), so for our anthem we just have a song, and seeing as my nation is MGS orientated, my National anthem is Jared Hudson's Metal Gear Solid 2 : Metal Gear May Cry.
The Battle Hymn of The Republic
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored,
He has loosed the fateful lightening of His terrible swift sword
His truth is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.
I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps
His day is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.
I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnish`d rows of steel,
"As ye deal with my contemners, So with you my grace shall deal;"
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel
Since God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.
He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.
In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me:
As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free,
While God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

ScottishFreedom
23-07-2004, 15:08
Here is the national anthem of ScottishFreedom that was written by a immigrant man in North Carolina who was longing for his homeland in the highlands of Scotland.
SCOTLAND THE BRAVE
Hark when the night is falling
Hear! hear the pipes are calling,
Loudly and proudly calling,
Down thro' the glen.
There where the hills are sleeping,
Now feel the blood a-leaping,
High as the spirits of the old Highland men.
Chorus:Towering in gallant fame,
Scotland my mountain hame!
High may your proud standards gloriously wave!
Land of my high endeavour,
Land of the shining river,
Land of my heart for ever!
Scotland the brave!
2. High in the misty Highlands,
Out by the purple islands,
Brave are the hearts that beat
Beneath Scottish skies.
Wild are the winds to meet you,
Staunch are the friends that greet you,
Kind as the love that shines from fair maiden's eyes.
Chorus:
3. Far off in sunlit places,
Sad are the Scottish faces,
Yearning to feel the Kiss
Of sweet Scottish rain.
Where tropic skies are beaming,
Love sets the heart a-dreaming,
Longing and dreaming for the homeland again.
Chorus:
4. Hot as a burning ember,
Flaming in bleak December
Burning within the hearts
Of clansmen afar!
Calling to home and fire,
Calling the sweet desire,
Shining a light that beckons from every star!
Chorus:
We Naginiians believe in complete freedom of expression -- even if we may not agree with whatever form that expression takes. Therefore, we don't believe in institutionally dictated anthems, or official anthems, as such. Oh, sure we have a national song, but you can sing it to any tune you prefer on any given day. I myself prefer "BlueBells of Scotland".
You can imagine the difficulty this open expression commitment created when it came time to formalize the national flag -- although we all could all eventually come to terms with a design, we had to bow to our national ethics and change the color every other week. Next week: tie dye.

I didn't write it, but our national anthem is Fields of Athenry.
By a lonely prison wall
I heard a young girl calling
"Michael, they have taken you away
For you stole Trevelyn's corn
So the young might see the morn
Now a prison ship lies waiting in the bay."
Chorus
Low lie the fields of Athenry
Where once we watched the small free birds fly
Our love was on the wing
We had dreams and songs to sing
It's so lonely 'round the fields of Athenry
By a lonely prison wall
I heard a young man calling
"Nothing matters, Mary, when you're free
Against the famine and the crown
I rebelled, they ran me down
Now you must raise our child with dignity."
Chorus
By a lonely harbor wall
She watched the last star falling
As the prison ship sailed out against the sky
Sure she'll wait and hope and pray
For her love in Botany Bay
It's so lonely 'round the fields of Athenry
Chorus

Shalrirorchia
16-09-2004, 19:34
The anthem of the United States of Shalrirorchia:
Oh, say can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, now conceals, now discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines on the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner! O long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wiped out their foul footstep's pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved homes and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heaven-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
Our anthem is a musical score. It can be heard on our site. GO NOW!
Badestas
16-09-2004, 20:38
In the Republic of Badestas we have yet to establish an official anthem, though we use "Jupiter" from Gustav Holst's "The Planets" for certain functions.
While several proposals have been put forth in Parliament to establish official lyrics, it has been deemed essentially pointless as we have been extremely isolationist since gaining independence from Britain in 1917 after impounding a Royal Navy frigate. No response ever came, so the revolutionaries called it a win and kept a low profile, thus setting the stage for nearly a century of foreign policy that in essence pretends foreigners don't exist.
As a growing population is increasingly exerting pressure for expansion, suitably belligerent yet accomodating lyrics will no doubt be submitted for approval to the First Consul shortly.

"Dream", the national anthem of the People's Democratic Social Republic of Ariddia. Sung to the tune of the "Internationale".
Dream on, Ariddia's sons and daughters
Dream of a land of anarchy
See what our dreams so far have brought us
Social rights for all and for free
The best of both worlds is in our hold
Both democrat and communist
If the will of the people be bold
Achieve we will, sing, raise your fist
[Chorus]
Red and black is our nation
Freedoms we do hold dear
No one shall rob us of them
Our dream of anarchy!
We shall not yield to foreign pressure
We shall hold our heads high in pride
Ye who scorn our ways should know better
Your scorn will never reach our tide
We do not ask for your approval
Nor do we seek to change your minds
The people today this nation rule
Our dreams to our land do us bind
[Chorus]
Peace freedom is all that we ask for
No wars shall shed Ariddian blood
One day a brotherhood of nations
Will live; the people shall know love
One day the world together shall dream
Cast off the chains of slavery
One day the people will rise and beam
With joy: Today the world is free!
[Chorus]
No unjust laws crush the Ariddians
The people are the government
No man dominates his fellow men
For these rights ne'er did we relent
We do not bow before religion
We do not bow before a king
We are all equal in our nation
And we shall bow before nothing
[Chorus]
[Fifth stanza: instrumental only]
Consivania
16-09-2004, 22:11
Consivania's anthem is the "Panzerlied". Pretty interesting considering we are not normally the attackers or have a large tank force.
"If there's storm or it snows,
Or the sun smiles on us,
The day is burning hot,
Or the night icy cold.
Dusty are the faces,
But joyful is our mind,
Joyful our mind;
Our tank roars ahead
Within the storm wind.
When a hostile tank
appears ahead of us,
Full throttle is given
And we close with the foe!
It's not our life we value,
For the army of our realm,
Army of our realm
For Consivania to die
Is honor most high.
And if we are abandoned
By that unfaithful luck,
And if we don't return
To our homeland again,
If a bullet strikes us down,
If our fate calls on us,
Yes calls on us,
Then our tank will give us
A metal grave.
With thundering engines,
Fast as a lightning bolt,
The enemy engaging,
Within our armor plates.
Ahead of our comrades,
In the battle, all alone,
We stand all alone
That's how we strike deep
Into the enemy's ranks.
With obstacles and tanks
The foe blocks our path,
We laugh about it
And simply pass them by.
And if ahead guns threaten,
Hidden in the yellow sand,
In the yellow sand,
We seek out our way,
That no one else found."

This is the New National anthem of The Republic of Kyleralia this, and the old one (listed a couple posts obove) Both go to the Melody Of The Russian National Athem.
Kyleralia Forever
Unbreakable Union of freeborn Republics,
Kyleralia welded forever to stand.
Created in struggle by will of the people,
United and mighty, our Great land!
Sing to the Motherland, home of the free,
Bulwark of peoples in brotherhood strong.
O Glory of this land, the strength of the people,
To Communism's triumph lead us on!
Through tempests the sunrays of freedom have cheered us,
Along the new path where great Kyle Has lead.
To a righteous cause he raised up This Country,
Inspired it to Rise up in this valorous deed.
Sing to the Motherland, home of the free,
Bulwark of peoples in brotherhood strong. O Glory of this land, the strength of the people,
To Communism's triumph lead us on!
In the vict'ry of Communism's deathless ideal,
We see the future of our dear land.
And to her fluttering scarlet banner,
Kyleralia Will Forever stand!

No...the battle hymn of the republic was written during the american civil war for the Union side.
The LRR national anthem is "Little Wing," by Jimi Hendrix:
Well she’s walking through the clouds
With a circus mind that’s running round
Butterflies and zebras
And moonbeams and fairy tales
That’s all she ever thinks about
Riding with the wind.
When I’m sad, she comes to me
With a thousand smiles, she gives to me free
It’s alright she says it’s alright
Take anything you want from me, anything
Anything.
Fly on little wing,
Yeah yeah, yeah, little wing
"Lie To Me," by David Byrne, is sort of the second national anthem:
It’s a beautiful world and a beautiful dream
And you know I don’t care if things are not what they seem
Making up stories that you know aren’t true
But you know it’s all right ’cause I know it too
Who is the lady with the sno-cone eyes?
Who has the candy with the soft insides?
Talk show religion and
Soap opera love
Whatever happened to
Heavens above?
Well you can lie to me
And I imagine you do
If nothin’s right
What’s wrong?
That what I like about you
That what I like about you
Birds are flying from east to west
Dogs are running a political race
Twinkle twinkle
Little star
How I wonder
Who you are
Well you can lie to me
And I imagine you do
If nothin’s right
What’s wrong?
That’s what I like about you
That’s what I like about you
It’s a beautiful world and a beautiful dream
And you know I don’t care if things are not what they seem
I wanna be happy, I can’t stand the pain
I wanna believe, so tell me again
I’m like a chicken without a head
I’d like to fly, but I walk instead
Emotional junkies
How blind we must be
I’m just a fool for your
Las vegas tears
Well you can lie to me
And I imagine you do
If nothin’s right
What’s wrong?
That’s what I like about you
That’s what I like about you
That’s what I like about you
That’s what I like about you

I’m not really creative when I don’t want to be
We have 2 Anthems, one is Seizure of Power, As preformed by Marlyn Manson ((Resident Evil Soundtrack, the 1st one))
Number 2 is Battle Hymn of the Republic
Transnapastain is almost entirely theocratic, therefore, a large number of public events center around religion. Furthermore, Various units and branches within the military have adopted unofficial anthems. For example, the Office of Internal Security unofficial anthem is “Master of Puppets” As preformed by Metallica. The Air Fleets unofficial anthem is Bombshell. Most unofficial anthems are jokes, these are no exception.
OOC: I don’t know if anyone recognizes my sig (But Who’d Suspect The Military Intelligence) or not, it’s a line from Megadeth song, Hanger 18. Its relevant because the “military intelligence” ((Office of Internal Security)) pretty much runs the nation.

Two Thousand Tears, by High King Semir-randil I; Commonality national anthem from 2 D.E. (2004 c.e.) onwards
Two thousand tears
Two thousand years
Of blood and sweat and toil
Two thousand tears are mingled now
Beneath our trampled soil
chorus:
A Commonality
Of justice and
Paternity
Maternity
Leading to eternity
Two thousand years
Of suffering
Did we boldly endure
Two thousand tears
Upon each day
Did we sadly weep
Yet on this land our hopes to keep
And futures mingle gently
(chorus)
Our heads held high
Bravely to defy
Any injustice that we see;
For in the end that which we trust
Is stability.
A Commonality
Of Everlasting Light
And in deepest plight we live to serve
And fight another day.

Within its shade we'll live and die,
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
We'll keep the red flag flying here.
Look round, the Frenchman loves its blaze,
The sturdy German chants its praise,
In Moscow's vaults its hymns are sung
Chicago swells the surging throng.
It waved above our infant might,
When all ahead seemed dark as night;
It witnessed many a deed and vow,
We must not change its colour now.
It well recalls the triumphs past,
It gives the hope of peace at last;
The banner bright, the symbol plain,
Of human right and human gain.
It suits today the weak and base,
Whose minds are fixed on pelf and place
To cringe before the rich man's frown,
And haul the sacred emblem down.
With heads uncovered swear we all
To bear it onward till we fall;
Come dungeons dark or gallows grim,
This song shall be our parting hymn.

A Call to Arms (I have no idea on what it sounds like).
(Tune to: Hail Columbia!)
Hail Colodia, happy land!
Hail, ye heroes, heav'n-born band,
Who fought and bled in freedom's cause,
Who fought and bled in people's cause,
And when the storm of war was gone
Enjoy'd the peace your abilities won.
Let independence be our boast,
Ever mindful what it cost;
Ever grateful for the prize,
Let its altar reach the skies.
Firm, united let us be,
Rallying round our liberty,
As a band of brothers joined,
Peace and safety we shall find.
Immortal patriots, rise once more,
Defend your rights, defend your lands!
Let no rude foe, with impious hand,
Let no rude foe, with impious hand,
Invade the shrine where sacred lies
Of toil and blood, the well-earned prize,
While off'ring peace, sincere and just,
In Heaven's we place a manly trust,
That truth and justice will prevail,
And every scheme of bondage fail.
Firm, united let us be,
Rallying round our liberty,
As a band of brothers joined,
Peace and safety we shall find.
Behold the chief who now commands,
Once more to serve his country stands.
The rock on which the storm will break,
The rock on which the storm will break,
But armed in virtue, firm, and true,
His hopes are fixed on Heav'n and you.
When hope was sinking in dismay,
When glooms obscured Colodia's day,
His steady mind, from changes free,
Resolved on death or liberty.
Firm, united let us be,
Rallying round our liberty,
As a band of brothers joined,
Peace and safety we shall find.
Sound, sound the trump of fame,
Let Colodia's great fame
Ring through the world with loud applause,
Ring through the world with loud applause,
Let ev'ry clime to freedom dear,
Listen with a joyful ear,
With equal skill, with God-like pow'r
We govern in the fearful hour
Of horrid war, or guides with ease
The happier time of honest peace.
Firm, united let us be,
Rallying round our liberty,
As a band of brothers joined,
Peace and safety we shall find.

Last night I tried to tease her
I gave my love a little pinch
But she said "Now stop that jivin'

I'll cover her with kisses
and when we're in a lover's clinch
she gets all excited
but then she puts on my big ten-inch

My gal don't go for smokin'
and liquor just makes her flinch
Seems she don't go for nothin'

My national anthem = Black Sabaths "Electric Funeral" :D its about nucing people :D
"Electric Funeral"
Reflex in the sky warn you you're gonna die
Storm coming, you'd better hide from the atomic tide
Flashes in the sky turns houses into sties
Turns people into clay, radiation minds decay
Robot minds of robot slaves lead them to atomic rage
plastic flowers, melting sun, fading moon falls upon
dying world of radiation, victims of mad frustration
Burning globe of oxy'n fire, like electric funeral pyre
Buildings crashing down to a cracking ground
Rivers turn to wood, ice melting to flood
Earth lies in death bed, clouds cry water dead
Tearing life away, here's the burning pay
Electric Funeral
Electric Funeral
Electric Funeral
Electric Funeral
And so in the sky shines the electric eye
supernatural king takes earth under his wing
Heaven's golden chorus sings, Hell's angels flap their wings
Evil souls fall to Hell, ever trapped in burning cells!

((OOC: At long, long last.))
While the Empire itself has yet to finalize an official anthem, due to turmoils that have plagued it for so many years, there are many patriotic songs that circulate among her people, especially among the military ranks. This particular song, drafted to the tune of ‘Battle Hymn of The Republic,’ is the most popular. It relates to a particularly heroic engagement between a famous unit of the Imperial military, and the armies of a long defunct nation. This song has been around since the battle first occurred in the first few years of the modern Empire, and the reign of the Emperor Kreschnev The Great.
The Fighting 9th Brigade
Old Sweeny sent the Specials out,
To shoot the people down,
He thought the GIA was dead,
In dear old Sofia town,
But he got a rude awakening,
With cannon and grenade,
When he met the first Batallion,
Of the Fighting Ninth Brigade.
Glory, glory to the Emperor,
Glory, glory our Savior,
Glory to the memory of the men
Who fought and died,
"No surrender" is the war cry of
The fighting Ninth Brigade.
The soldiers came from everywhere,
Equipped with Russian guns,
There were men by the thousand,
Ammunition by the ton,
But when they got to Sofia,
They were seriously delayed,
By the trusty first Batallion
Of the Fighting Ninth Brigade.
We had no ammunition,
Or no armored tanks to show,
But we were ready to defend ourselves,
No matter where we’d go,
We're out there for our Emperor,
And to hell with your Free State,
"No surrender" is the War cry
Of the Fighting Ninth Brigade.
Come all you gallant soldiers,
Leave your families and your friends
We'll strike a blow for God and State,
let come the bitter end
When bullets fly, and cities burn
Let it come what may
But don’t forget that first battalion
Of the fighting ninth brigade

Morsetania's national anthem is a tribute to our flag (and national animal) titled "Coon-Spangled Banner"
Oh, look up toward that 'coon-spangled banner
Look toward it in an awestruck manner
That heavenly sky-blue and red banner
Shall fly over our great state forever
Look up toward that 'coon-spangled banner
For that brave Raccoon shall let us down never

The Dawn has come.
Oh how bright is the sun.
Why do we fight, beacuse we must keep the light.
Honor and duty shall uphold us.
We will not fuss.
For the Dawn has Come.
Oh how bright is the sun.
We stare the Devils in the eye, he may try to lie.
But we will hold firm and fight for the light.
That is our National Anthem.

Damn, I wanted to use the Internationale :D
The whole point of 'The Internationale' is that it can be used by Socialists/Communists across the globe (yay)
The United Socialist States of Vandrovia uses the Internationale but with changed lyrics (last time I checked there were A LOT of differing versions) So here it is:

A country shouldn't be judged by the quality of its anthem, but by the fact that they exist, and by how powerful they are. :gundge:

For Thee, Oh Pleasant Land
Melody (http://www.cyberhymnal.org/mid/t/h/a/thaxted.mid)
(Note: This is a low-quality midi version)
For thee, oh pleasant land—all earthly things above—
To thee I devote my life, my unreserved love;
I shall take up the sword for thee, and raise my banner high,
And in direst days for thee I should gladly die;
But I look out to sea - ships still float o'er the waves!
And I know that nation-hood and vict'ry are saved.
We people of this great nation, shrouded by the sea—
Proud and Noble we stand and sing, wrethed in liberty;
From Manium to Praeton, to the mists of our great hills;
We stand to guard our country, from all evil will;
For thee, oh pleasant land, we be proud to give our lives,
So that thy glory may for an eternity survive.

You Are the New Day
-King's Singers
You are the new day [new day].
You are the new day...
I will love you more than me
And more than yesterday.
If you can but prove to me,
You are the new day.
Send the sun in time for dawn;
Let the birds all hail the morning.
Love of life will urge me say:
You are the new day.
When I lay me down at night
Knowing we must pay,
Thoughts occur that this night might
Stay yesterday.
Thoughts that we as humans small
Could slow worlds and end it all,
Lie around me when they fall
Before the new day [before the new day].
One more day when time is running out
For everyone.
Like a breath I knew would come
I reach for a new day.
Hope is my philosophy,
Just needs days in which to be;
Love of life means hope for me!
Born on a new day!
You are the new day!

Did you actually compose the music for this?!
No, I did write the words though. This is the original / inspiration: http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/i/v/ivow2the.htm
EDIT: Yes Holst composed the music. It's part of "Juipter" from "The Planets"

After a referendum from the Ixdeian Holy Imperial Government on what should be the anthem for our young nation, it became clear that the majority of Ixdeian voters wanted "Bohemian Rhapsody" from Queen. Seeing though, that that song is already broadcast approximately 3.4531 times (on average) per day on the Holy Ixdeian Radio Broadcast (HIRB), our Holy Emperor Hans-Gerard of Backpulver decided as a form of compromise that our new anthem should be based on another Queen song - Radio Ga Ga (lyrics changed to fit the Greatness of our Empire).
HOLY IXDEIA
We sat alone
and watched Your Light
Our only lord
through peasant life
And everything, our people want
Our Holy Emperors warrant
They gave us all, their bread and games
And cans of coke, and candy canes
Our Freedom they, can gladly take
But keep off my stereo, for Baumwollos's(*) sake!
So we don't care, 'bout freedom of choice
'Bout coups d'état, and plots and coys
But still this is, an anthem we sing
We've always honoured, the Belgian king(*)
You have your time, you have the power
We haven't had our morning shower
Ixdeia - Ixdeia
All we sing is Holy Ixdeia
Wholly Ixdeia
Holy Ixdeia
All we sing is Holy Ixdeia
Guacamole Ixdeia
Ixdeia, what's new?
Ixdeia, land of freedoms few!

(*) Baumwollos is the State Deity of Ixdeia. 21.6% of our people have membership cards of the "Order of Baumwollos" temples.
(*) Our Emperor, Hans-Gerard of Backpulver, was originally a second cousin twice-removed of a noble woman married to a member of the Belgian Royal House.
It is permitted to sing only the first and fourth couplet of the song during sporting events and other patriotic happenings, but the audience is ordered to clap and rise their fists at the appropriate time. This is all explained to the Ixdeian People in the "How to be a Good Patriot!!" flyers being delivered to every house in the Empire.

I think a new one might be in store.
Here it is:
Spanish songs in andalucía
The shooting sites in the days of ’39
Oh, please, leave the ventana open
Federico lorca is dead and gone
Bullet holes in the cemetery walls
The black cars of the guardia civil
Spanish bombs on the costa rica
I’m flying in a dc 10 tonight
Chorus
Spanish bombs, yo te quiero infinito
Yo te quiero, oh mi corazón
Spanish bombs, yo te quiero infinito
Yo te quiero, oh mi corazón
Spanish weeks in my disco casino
The freedom fighters died upon the hill
They sang the red flag
They wore the black one
But after they died it was mockingbird hill
Back home the buses went up in flashes
The irish tomb was drenched in blood
Spanish bombs shatter the hotels
My señorita’s rose was nipped in the bud
Chorus
The hillsides ring with free the people
Or can I hear the echo from the days of ’39?
With trenches full of poets
The ragged army, fixin’ bayonets to fight the other line
Spanish bombs rock the province
I’m hearing music from another time
Spanish bombs on the costa brava
I’m flying in on a dc 10 tonight
Spanish songs in andalucía, mandolina, oh mi corazón
Spanish songs in granada, oh mi corazón
